Robert Rand, a high-school junior, is upset with all the household duties he has. He wants to just be a kid again and decides to run away from home. He asks his friend Chris to join him. They decide to go to Sutter’s Cave just outside Lorenzo City, a day’s walk, for shelter. Robert is back home the next day, but his friend Chris doesn’t come home.

This is the story about what happened to Chris and how Robert’s attempt to leave home changed his life.

I hesitate to say more for fear of giving away the story. But, I will mention there are two surprises. One in the story and one in the author bio. It is only 48 pages long. Get a copy, read it and enjoy.
