Roman and Ember are shifters destined to bring peace among the clan of the shifters. Things change as Roman come into the camp bent on revenge for the wrong done to his father by his uncle. He thought that the clan should have been there for his family and since they weren't, he was going to destroy them until he meets one like no other and her name was Ember. Ember was sweet and honest and trustworthy. She knew Roman's intentions weren't good, but could her innocence save their clan? Not if a family friend had anything to do with it. The sex was hot, the chemistry between characters were hot, and even the side scene between the villains was sexy. It was a good story. I enjoyed the escapism.

This book will excite you and make your heart melt, too. Roman and Ember’s first meeting was kinda cute. She sneaks out of her home every night and her parents are unaware. On her way home, she meets Roman en route to the clan meeting house. She’s worried about his intentions, but she’s brave enough to try to find out what they are. I loved that she stood her ground questioning him at being on pack land in the wee hours. Roman has never really belonged to a pack. The only sense of belonging he ever had was his parents. After they died he had no one and revenge was all there was for him. His anger was understandable being forced to live in the city always hiding. He is intent on destroying the pack and the fragile peace with the bear clan. Bettina is a vampire who worked for the previous alpha and wants a war between the shifters and humans. She has plans in the works to make that happen and mating with Roman is a big part of that. I melted when petite Ember stays the night in front of Roman’s door to “protect” him. Ember is a bit of a rebel, but she doesn’t has Roman’s number. I loved her perspective on Roman and the clan. She was right. I voluntarily reviewed a complimentary copy of this book.

It wasn't until after I had finished this book that I realized that it is book 3 in a series. I haven't read the others, and I think I need to now. The story is good as a stand alone, but I feel that it would be awesome if read in the series order. I enjoyed this book enough to want to read more books by Emma Night. This is the first book I have read by her, and I'm excited about having another wonderful author to read.
This story was a little short, but it didn't lack for anything because of the length. The romance is sweet, the story line is entertaining, the characters are like-able and well developed. It really has everything a person would want in a shifter romance. I loved it and recommend it for a quick afternoon read. There are other stories in the book, so that was a bonus, too.

This was my first time ever reading anything from this author and even though I found this to be a interesting and intriguing read I'm kinda confused. This is supposed to be a billionaire bear story right but no billionaire was introduce. Also our main character Roman didn't have any interaction with any bear clan members. The whole Bettina situation is also unclear to me. I understand that Roman seek revenge but what did Bettina want??? I just wish we had more backstory I felt like everything towards the end was rush. I voluntarily read and review this ARC no minority compensation was received the opinions I have expressed are my own.

Ember pack leader is dead and she is hoping for a peaceful future. She has a special talent but know one knows it, only her parents. Ian Wolfsbloods was a cruel leader, the only relative left is Roman. Ian ban Romans parent from the pack when he was young and they died in a fire. Now he wants to get revenge on the pack by becoming the leader. I thought this was a very interesting story with a lot going on. It is a page turner and hard to put down. It has wolves and bear shifters and a vampire to top it off. I really enjoyed this story. I received an ARC and have voluntarily left a review.

I love reading paranormal romance stories and this was one of the finest I've read. I got the audio version and the narrators beautiful interpretation of the characters was outstanding. Her voice, in its calmness, had strength, pain, anger, understanding, and love as each of the author's characters went through those emotions. I try not to write spoilers so you'll just have to listen or read this beautiful love story; a story of beauty and beast, but with a background story not of a man who was vain, but one who had nothing but the love of his family.

Emma Knight has created such beautiful scenes in this shifter series called Deception. I love shifters, especially the bears. Two characters will grip your heart whilst reading this...When Ember sits outside the door to protect Roman and the scene where the two of them meet for the first time :) It is a short read but so enjoyable. I received an arc of this book and voluntarily leave my honest review of it here.

I would have like a little more background on Roman's parents, but overall, I enjoyed the story. I could have done a little less with Bettina and her romantic escapades as I didn't see what they added to the story, unless I count this as simply erotica. It started out a little slow, but it gained good momentum. It was interesting how the hero was very scarred. For a light, short read, I do recommend this book. I was given this book in return for an honest review.

Emma Night is one of my favorite author in the category and I always expect the best from her books. This book was a great addition to the The Billionaire Bear series. Great storyline that flows smoothly and a great mix of love, passion, drama, and suspense. Great characters that I really enjoy following throughout the series. I am sure you will love it too.

Plants a foundation but this is just too short, it's intense enough but needs more depth. It seems like it is a continuation of a series and since, to my remembrance, this was my first introduction, I need more information in order to connect with characters and their pack issues/rules. I listened to the audible version which I received a free copy of without obligation, narrator was just ok.
