Yay! Finally, I get to continue reading this series. 😁

I miss Yuuki and Taira, but I'm so upset that they broke up. I strongly blame Kikuhara on that part. And I'm not happy that I saw his sly face first when I started this volume.😩 I hated him from the start, now I super hate him. I don't understand his motive, or rather I don't understand him at all. And now, someone wants him dead (not surprised about that). Too bad they missed...😬

Oh, Yuuki as a child was the cutest.😍

Este tomo ha sido para mí un poco como una montaña rusa de emociones. Cada vez le estoy cogiendo más cariño al manga y a los personajes, sobretodo a los protagonistas. Lo único que pido es que todo vaya bien y todos sean felices aunque creo que eso es mucho pedir.

Definitely a filler volume after everything that happened in vol 7. Kind of expected that though, so we can be filled in on where everybody is now. Still a good volume, just not an absolute page turner.

I know I keep saying this, but this series is so addicting. It was interesting to get some backstory on Anzai's childhood. My heart breaks for Anzai and Tsukasa. I will be starting volume 9 right away!

Such a beautiful volume overall. The emotional maturity of the character writing is utterly insane, it really touched my heart. Tsukasa and Anzai have the healthiest relationship of all time-- I love them so, so much. I really think this series shines best when it focuses on them in the midst of everything.

The background piece adds a layer to this story but it feels a lot like the devil's are so behind the curve that they will not "win" so to speak. Very much 1 step forward 2 back. The art is just okay to me still.

This volume probably moved a bit slower than the previous but I actually enjoyed this one much more. I felt it answered some questions and added a lot to the story. Things between Anzai and Tsukasa made me a bit sad though.

That flashback was ROUGH!!!! Like Ik we know kikuhara is like a sadist but to think it started when he was that young damn. Poor baby anzai looked scared shitless and all he wanted was to befriend the dude. BUT we did finally get a peek at ole dad even if it isn’t a present representation of him. Then after we get traumatized by that they decide to break up for 3 MONTHS!!!! You’re killing me slowly. I just can’t wait to see my babies back together again. Especially with that new haircut cause BOOOOOY. But on slightly off topic who blew up the police car because kikuhara even looked shocked and annoyed by it.

This one was definitely slower than the other books in the series. It was by no means bad, but less action and more behind-the-scenes sort of stuff.

Well… It’s been a year and a half since I’ve read Devils’ Line, but even so, it has not left my mind. However, even though it was for no real reason, I’m glad I took a break from it. This volume came as a much needed inspiration and comfort during this time in my life where it wouldn’t have applied before.
I very much like how all the relationships and the story was written. However, these days I find myself unable to write lengthy reviews as I once did when I was younger.
But what I can say about this volume is that things take a less action packed sequence (though it is still not lacking in action) and take more of a maturation turn. At this point in the story, there are many things going on in many layers for many people. It’s a delicate yet sturdy web, and this time is often taken as a time of pain and growth. Choices made in the last volume have proved to have very heavy circumstances to the point where nothing can stay the same, and our characters are forced to either mourn the losses and changes or move on with them, if not both.
Some of the choices made and words placed also depict a sense of open mindedness not only for devils but also for the humanities and interrelationships of people, including devils. Perhaps this even further drives the sound theory that devils are the same as humans, that they are people, because they truly are. We also finally saw the Devils’ Line. A very interesting concept that I hope researcher Anzai might use in the future as well.
I’d hope and like to see our friends grow and heal. I feel a sense of compassion growing for “Jason” every time he appears as well. He’s a very good guy. I love all of that squad, every single one, even the “borrowed” members.
I look forward to seeing how things further unfurl. I’m also happy to see that Anzai and Tsukasa are still drawn together, even when they’re supposed to be forced apart. And they both read each other so very well, and do their utmost best to continue to be strong, stronger and stronger, for each other. I love them. I love watching them nurture what they have, through all of the steps. This is really a lovely horror romance, it’s something I will surely return to someday again even after I’ve finally finished it. And regardless of if I do or not, it is something I know will stick with me for decades.

Another interesting volume. The first third is a dream-memory of Kikuhara’s first meeting with Anzai which is more chilling than expected.

Once Anzai wakes up the hospital he and Tsukasa have to deal with the fact that she forced him to bite her in order to save his life last volume, not to mention dealing with the fall out from the trap the CCC had set.

The rest of the volume deals with that and the fall out is severe, leading to a lot of angst. Worse, Tsukasa is floundering in what she wants her career to be. Her love for Anzai is translating to a deep curiosity about the Devils. However, the CCC’s trap had the desired effect. Anti-devil protests are at an all time high and getting more violent by the moment.

And then Tsukasa meets Anzai’s mother.

I have to say the story is taking a darker turn into the effects of hate and prejudice and in general I read to avoid the ugliness of the real world. That said, I still like these characters and plan to continue. I can’t see where this is going and in this case, I like that mystery.

Devils' Line, Vol. 8 is straight-up insane in the best possible way. The tension, the action, the emotional gut-punches—this volume delivers on every level. The battle between devils and humans is reaching its breaking point, and the intensity in this volume is next level. Anzai is going through so much, and his struggle to maintain control while dealing with all the chaos around him makes for some of the most gripping moments in the series so far. And Tsukasa? She just keeps proving how strong and resilient she is, even when everything seems impossible.

The pacing in this volume is perfect—every scene feels crucial, every fight hits hard, and the emotional weight behind it all makes it impossible to put down. The artwork continues to capture every bit of the raw, messy emotions that make this series so addictive. If you thought Devils' Line was good before, Vol. 8 proves it’s only getting better and better. Five stars—this series is absolutely peaking, and I need to see how it all unfolds!

Dans le tome précédant les révélations allaient bon train et ce tome nous offre une petite pause dans la bataille contre le CCC. Le rythme de cet opus est bien moins soutenu mais on en apprend plus sur le passé de Yuki, notamment sa vie à ONLO. Hand est absent de ce livre et ça m'attriste.

J'apprécie toujours autant de découvrir la personnalité de Yuki. C'est un personnage bien construit et intéressant.

A un moment dans le récit j'ai eu peur d'avoir droit à un passage dans lequel Yuki et Tsukasa s'adonnerait une scène de cris et de larmes, mais j'ai été agréablement surprise de découvrir une Tsukasa plus mature. Mais je dois dire que je suis assez frustrée de constater que son rôle, dans ces 8 tomes, se limitent quand même à la gentille fifille qui cuisine pour son mec. Même si elle aide en quelque sorte Yuki dans son cheminement vers l'acceptation de lui-même, ça reste assez annectodique. J'espère qu'elle aura un rôle plus important par la suite.

This volume starts with a very telling flashback, giving us some history that I have been so eager to uncover. It definitely packs a punch! Waking up to results of the incidents from the last volume, Anzai and Tsukasa must continue to make difficult decisions regarding each other and their lives moving forward.

I was not prepared! (In the best way possible, of course) This series hooks me every time and with every volume I am reminded of why I love it!

The sting operation at the old CCC hideout was an utter failure and everything is falling apart!!!

Then there's a six week time skip and the socio-political climate surrounding devils is a tinderbox ready to (literally) explode. Also we get some of Yuuki's hidden backstory.

On another note, Ishimaru is officially my favorite and if he dies I will cry.

I loved this volume. Sure, there was no action, but with this volume I feel like the story is entering a new and deeper arc. I’m super excited for that. Yuuki and Tsukasa are honestly killing me and that ending made my heart skip a beat. And Ishimaru is a softie and we all knew it (no one can read that much manga and actually be cool - spoken from experience)

This was probably one of the best volumes so far. It was getting a little boring, some of the volumes before felt like filler, but it felt as if everything led up to this point and it was really good. I'm so excited for the next one!
