Lauren Lee has been down on his luck before, but never like this. With his father’s medical bills piling up, he can no longer afford to continue attending medical school. He needs a job, and quick. Desperate for money, he is prepared to take almost any job and luckily the local newspaper agency has an opening they desperately need to fill. And while Lauren is no journalist, he’s about to be thrown head first into the investigation of his life.
A criminal organization has cropped up in his Washington town and is running a series of scams designed to pull on your heartstrings….and steal everything you have. So when a young woman posts an ad online, claiming to be terminally ill and in need of a benefactor, it seems like the perfect honey trap.
Lauren is assigned to this lead. But delving into her life has bigger consequences than he expected, but not everything is a scam in Washington and not everyone has the same agenda and soon he finds himself enthralled and enticed with this woman who’s - supposedly – running out of time and he no longer desires to write the article on her. Can Lauren trust her, or is she just using him and his heart?
