He's the rising star of the Paranormal Investigation Agency; she'd love to burn it to the ground.

Tria Winters plays the part of the loyal agent well, but she's nothing short of a prisoner. When the Agency is brutally attacked, she and her cousins should have taken their chance to run, but to her surprise, there are people she isn't quite willing to turn her back on.

It's obvious to Gray that Tria and her family are trouble, but they're the only ones who could fight off those who wish to destroy the Agency. He needs to stay with them.

Even thought their plan may lands them all in Hell.

As usual, I totally LOVED IT! it was AWESOME!!! Everything about it was amazing! I love how this author keeps getting depper and depper into Greek mythology and I loved that she didn't stop there in this book, she also tapped into Egyptian and Angels, making an EXTREMELY interesting combination that raises so many questions and so many possibilities for different story lines in other books! I specially loved that there was finally a discernible link between this word and the fairy stories; I always thought the world's were similar and might be connected in some way, especially when the Greek gods started to show on both, but I wasn't sure how they were connected, now so much is making sence! I'm really hopping for the next book in this series!

Ps: Hades was fantastic and supper entertaining, I loved him and I'm really hopping to see more of him in the future; Zeus, no so much, he just seem like a spoiled toddler who was denied of his favorite toy!

Author has some great marketing, she’s been showing up in all my stuff so I finally gave her a read. I really liked the concept, which is why it has three instead of two stars. Everything else is severely underdeveloped. The plot is pretty basic, the relationships between the characters is bluntly stated but not supported or felt, any conflict is quickly and easily resolved. And after all the talk of fated mates losing themselves in each other for days, the one sex scene was quick and dirty and tossed in at the end like an afterthought. The book is also full of typos like so many of the KU books. There’s promise here but maybe after a few rounds of heavy editing.

The idea for this seemed cool but the whole thing was meh. A lot of telling and no showing. Two stars because I didn’t DNF It.

This was fun. A start to a new series with characters I have been wondering about since reading another book set in the same world. A casual read I got through in a day.
I wish there would have been time for more character development, but hope that will be done in the later books.
Looking forward to reading the next.

OMG!!!! Mind BLOWN!!!

OK, so much to process! OMG! OK... So your universe is a conglomeration of 3s. The 3 hells, 3 earths/mortal realms, and presumably 3 heavens! We've learned about 2 of three hells: Lucifer's Hell and Hades's Underworld. We know of 2 mortal realms: Earth & Gaia. And we saw the gates of Heaven for lack of a better term.

So Not Quite the Fairytale is based in Gaia, and Sibelle is Demetria's freaking twin! Wow! Just wow! So Sibelle is not just a Scion, but a Descendant! A child of Hades & Persephone themselves! Wow! Just WOW!

Meanwhile, the Lakeside shifters, the vampires, witches, angels, demons, etc are all residents of Earth.

Is the 3rd realm the Earth with alien visitors? And wait! Didn't this story suggest that the gods as we know them were aliens who colonized Earth? So let me see if I'm understanding... Gaia is heavily magical with a little technology. Rise/The Emperor's Mate's Earth is heavily technological with almost no magic. And the Lakeside's Earth is an even split of all of the above.

The gods were trapped on Olympus because they became a bunch of self-righteous demagogues set on subjugating all mortal realms and ending free will for all time. Am I on the right track?

If so, holy SH-T! If I'm missing something... HOLY SH-T!!! I'm not surprised! I'm even MORE obsessed with all of your incredible, intricately interconnected series! OMG! I'm going to take a break. Let my brain rest and then try to read this again so I can see what I may have missed or been too overwhelmed to fully grasp the first go-round. Holy MFing sh-tty hellish MFing shit! I'm afraid to sleep because I'm not even sure my dreams can handle all of this! They need to do a KindleWorld for the Sage-verse! Is it the May-verse? Or the May Sage multi-verse? I cannot make any more sense of this. Thank you for the brilliance and creativity you share one book at a time!

I so enjoyed this short read. So much, I read it all in one sitting. This is pure fantasy with a love interest thrown in. Gray is the rising star of the PIA, Paranormal Investigation Agency, and Tria and her so called "Cousins", would love to burn it down. Tria and her cousins have been contained in the building so they cannot use their powers, and those powers are really something to behold. Gray also has power but he doesn't tap into his. He thinks its bad and will not use it unless absolutely necessary. Great description of Gray and Tria as they have to head to hell to retrieve a powerful relic. You have a power hungry group of people on a mission and they destroy the agency in order to get one of the relics but they don't know its not there. Keeps you on the edge . Highly recommend if you like fantasy.

May Sage has developed a stunning panorama of paranormal worlds! The different series she writes all weave a twisted path through the world! Yet, she never seems to miss a beat when characters from one series meet characters from another! I am very impressed with how this series starts off! The characters develop well with sharp witty dialogue and proactive attitudes that work well! Tria and Gray are a hilarious combination of badass sassy girl and smarmy alpha male! The secrets each holds make for fun scenes as they reveal just what they are!

Well May Sage, I just have to say....you are amazing!!

This is a terrific joining of many factors that twist and turn and throw curve balls around like nobody's business. You just never know what is coming next.

I really enjoyed not only the storyline but also the bringing in of previous characters (don't worry if you haven't read any other books as this is a standalone but, I really recommend reading the rest of the books this author has written), just adds an extra layer to this captivating book.

Awesome!

This is one of my new favorite books!!! I absolutely loved the characters and the events that took place. it felt like it was a mixture of Lockwood and co and Percy Jackson. I want to know what happens next so bad!! Is Ajax going to succeed? What about the others how did there adventure go when they went there separate ways? Does Daphne fall for Ralph? I want to see the relationship between Gray and Tria more!!! Do they all come together and fight against Ajax in this big epic battle?! Like I need to knowwww!!!!

This author is a master of creating series in the same timeline and each of them has similarities and difrences.
Here we encounter Greek gods, their descendantd, some characters from other series (that was huge yay!) And Knox! I was wondering about him for more than a year!
Tria is such a kick ass heroine that knows her own battels. I really enjoyed getting to know her.
Gray... hmmm... I didn't like him at First but i think he needed some Time to change his attitude.
Enjoyable read.

I loved this book

I have been waiting for the release of this book and it did not disappoint. I love the dynamic between Grey and Tria. And I love that we got to say hello to some other awesome characters from Age of Night. I can’t wait to learn more about Daphne and Jason and what’s to come with the partners they have been paired with. My only hope is that it won’t take took long for the next book to find a home on my kindle :)

Great book!!

As always with May Sage's books, I loved it. She writes fun, fast paced books with relatable characters, even though some of those characters are not humans. One thing with this book though, as I much as I liked it, it really needed better editing. There were quite a few errors that took me out of the story. I've never noticed it before and it won't keep me from buying her books, but I hope it gets fix.

All I can say is awesome!! Again another great book by May Sage it’s got action and quiet a bit of humor Tria’s dad was a trip. We get to know more about these characters who have shown up in previous books but the main two are Tria and Gray with their secrets and growing attraction. There are a lot of twists and turns and bonus we get a bit of Knox in this book too!

I voluntarily read and reviewed an arc of this book

Enjoyed it

The books are quick but fun. Nothing to heavy. The characters are likable and the romance sweet. I really like the fact that there isn’t 200 pages of internal repetitive dialogue by either H or h of why they can’t be together. They adjust and accept. I don’t love insta love but I hate the mountains some characters make out of mole hills that keep them fighting the inevitable. For sure going to read the rest of May Sages work.

Can't wait!!!!!

I cannot wait for the next 2 books in the series I've been reading all the series because May says that it's all connected it and not since I've got to the end of the book and she's laid out how they're connected as far as time line and dimensions go I definitely cannot wait For the next but it's in the series, Especially because I wanna know what happens with Jase and Daphne.

Disappointed - it could have been so beautiful

May Sage is a new author to me. I’ve read a few of her books and have appreciated the strong characters and good story development. I liked the concept in this one and thought it could have been epic. But, there just wasn’t enough meat on the bones. This felt like a rough sketch. The rushed happy ending really made this more of a 3.5.

Surpassed my expectations

I’ve been looking forward to reading this book since I finished Catnip. Realm of Darkness was fantastic. Fast paced, lots of action to keep me turning the page, and just enough sexual tension to keep things interesting. Though there were quite a few typos, and mixed up words, it was still a smooth read, and I can’t wait for book 2!

Realm of Darkness (ARC) by May Sage: **** An entertaining read!
This is a fast paced PNR story with kick a$$ characters who have powers descended from the gods, and lots of action, all ending with a HFN. Looking forward to the next story in this series! Disclosure: I am voluntarily reviewing an ARC of this book.

Epic

Oh my God I love this book and need more. The surprises were all out of nowhere and absolutely mind blowing. Tria has just the right amount of sass and Gray has just enough charm/cockiness. I couldn't put the book down. I need to see what else happens to Tria, Daph and Jase. I would love to know more back story on Gray.

Enjoyable mix of fable and adventure

Loved the characters, nice plot and twists in this adventure romance. The use of mythology and the retelling of new myths makes this an exciting read. Few spelling mistakes but does not deter from the storyline. Look forward to reading the next story.

Great book

I have enjoyed all the books by My Sage that I have read. Reading one of her books allows me to escape the real world and live in the fantasy until I reach the end of the book. I liked learning more about atria and her cousins and liked he addition of Gray and Ralph to the group. As always grammar and editing is excellent.

Great Beginning of a New Series

May Sage has written a wonderful book that takes place in a universe where supernatural individuals and gods walk the earth. The story is well crafted and draws in the reader. You get involved with the main characters, Tria and Gray as they struggle with each other and the problems around them. The book is an easy read and hard to put down.

Amazing

I was at first disappointed Sage had started a new series instead of fueling my need for her other series but this is brilliant. Mixes all the heritages, has links to her other worlds and is funny. The world building and characters are fantastic. Love it.

I loved this book!

This book was kick ass, with EVERY aspect that I love in a book. Your characters rock, your scenes are realistic, ( considering that they are fantasy), and you made me want another book, now!! Thank you, when is the next book coming out?
