Hunter Morgan writes chilling suspense with romantic elements in small town settings. She appeals to fans of Melinda Leigh, Loreth Anne White, Skye Jordan and Mary Burton.
For one thing, both the back of the book and the book description say that Casey is being stalked by the man that murdered her best friend. That's just wrong. She is a patient's rights advocate at a hospital, and the woman who murdered was one of her patients. This isn't a spoiler, it's just the basic plot. she barely knew the woman, met her one time. So that's quite different than "best friend" because she doesnt even have one in this book. Anyway, Casey thinks she is being stalked, but at the same time, she is living her life, taking care of her dad, who has just come to live with her, and has Alzheimer's. Because my grandfather died of that disease, this part of the book really touched me and also made me sad. It's not just a passing theme..but we get to see part of the book from his point of view. In fact, one of the things i like, is that the pov switches - from casey, to her dad, to a prisoner in jail, to the guy who is accused of killing that woman, to his brother, to his girlfriend, to both of the guys casey likes, and to a psychopath. we cant tell who the psychopath is, and till near the very end, it was hard to tell which of the two men it was. the author did a great job with that. it wasnt an awesome book, but the three elements of the disease, the pov's and that you really couldnt tell who it was, kept me reading for more.
I finished it a few days ago and I still keep thinking about a character who said something like, "I'm a good mom and I feed my children real food," as they were eating mac and cheese out of a box with a can of tomato soup mixed in! Each and every character came from a different background and had a different voice.
At first you believe you know who the killer is until you start second guessing yourself as you get deeper into the story. This writer gets lots of points because I can usually tell who the killer is before I am half way through the book and this time I debated who it might be until almost the end.
This writer keeps you engaged without using quips so don't put it down after the first chapter. If you like a good story with real characters, this is a book you will enjoy.
It was good, suspenseful, definitely had me spooked at times. By the ending though I was so confused. I even wanted to go back and reread some parts to see if it even all made sense, which I guess it did. Very surprising ending and I must say I didn't like the way things turned out. But all in all a decent book. Quick and easy read.
Yes, very good. Casey, she is a nice person and very lonely,.... Then she gets two good friends,.....Adam and Lincoln,....but who can she trust? Who wants her dead!? I loved her sweet dad, he has Alzheimer,...but he is not GRAZY!( good done!)
This is Colleen Faulkner, daughter from Judith E French!!!!!!!!!!
It wasn't bad, it just wasn't good. Characters were boring and you just didn't care about them. The stalker angle was blase, the other crimes meant little. Prolly wont read anything else by this author.
Casey is convinced that Charles killed Linda. Casey wants to prove that Charles is now stalking her. While two men are interested in Casey, she doesn't trust her instincts anymore. I received a free copy of this book from eBook Discovery. This is my honest and voluntarily given review. This is a very suspenseful romance with the book told from many points of view. The characters are very well developed. I liked this book very much. The author, Hunter Morgan, never disappoints.
A solid five-star thriller. I enjoyed the plot and intrigue. Keeps up the sense of mystery. Stalking, domestic violence and serial killers. Best of all: great American villain is back, namely Richard Nixon! I received this book for free from eBook Discovery. I voluntarily review this book. This is my honest review
This book was entertaining and kept me in suspense. It was great how the author gave clues to the identity of the killer without giving away too much. It had some really good twists. The main characters were great and well developed.

He is watching you!!! In a career where she sees women suffer, she is often reminded of a dark place in her own history. But it can not happen again, can it? A good story line that will draw you in.

This was unexpectedly great! The pace was honestly PERFECT for someone who LOVES crime and mystery and hates it when things go by too quickly! Dylan and the other characters who were murdered by “Dani” took a bit for to to realize they all were somehow connected. And it was because they had the same killer or attacker. But I’m still not sure why they were chosen. Don’t think it mentioned that. There were multiple Red Herrings! Like Sarge! Such an awesome and thrilling book!
I KNEW that Gaitlin didn’t kill Angel; but I was still on the fence if he killed Linda. And that wasn’t clear.
Casey annoyed me for a while constantly blaming EVERYTHING on Gaitlin. I knew the things she thought he did; I knew he didn’t do them. And I was right about that. It took me a while to figure out who the killer was.
At first I had a small thought that it was Gaitlin. But then after Lincoln’s dark thoughts about Casey; I thought it was him. Then I though it was maybe someone Maury hired. Turns out I was right. I just didn’t think that the “Dani” would have been Adam. But I did sense that something was off about him. He was too persistent with Casey even after he knew she was with Lincoln. But it still bugs me that Lincoln’s “dark thoughts” were never brought to light again. Did he commit crimes and is a changed man trying to not have the thoughts again. Or is he starting to become evil?? That still bugs me.

this was a well written book. there were a couple of connections made in this book that seemed very weird and even now I don't understand why it was even included in the book. the supposed TWIST became very obvious and the book kind of lost some of the thrill once this was discovered. overall it was still a good book.
How did I luck out with 3 good books in a row? Would haven't put it down but 7 days of baseball tickets slowed me down! Sit out in the sun all afternoon and no matter how good the book is you can't read much before falling asleep!
A quick read...a good story that kept my interest the entire time. Liked that there were many different characters, but very easy to keep track of them.
