Miss Matchmaker

What happens when the matchmaker meets her match?
Better What doesn't happen?

A small town is the last place I ever thought I’d find myself, but I’m desperate to save my failing business, and a mysterious client makes an offer I can’t turn down.

She wants me to match her with the man of her dreams, and if I pull it off, she’ll pay me more than I can imagine.

But when a cowboy everybody calls “Country” welcomes me to town with a “get lost” and a side of drop-dead gorgeous, well, things get a little more complicated.

I mean, what kind of woman wouldn’t go following a guy like that back to his ranch? And what kind of woman wouldn’t go marching up to tell him off, even if he was shirtless?

Between my insane client and my inability to stay away from the cocky cowboy, I have my hands full.

And Lucas Tate, the man my client wants? It turns out he's also my cowboy.

**As always, this is a totally SAFE, full length book with a happily ever after, no cheating, and plenty of steam.**

USA Today, Wall Street Journal, and Amazon Charts Bestselling author Penelope Bloom is taking her first flight into romantasy—and yes, there are dragons. After years of contemporary romance, she's temporarily trading meet-cutes for magical academies and coffee shops for castles that reek of blood. She promises the banter is just as sharp, but now it comes with deadly consequences.

Fun fact: “Penelope Bloom” started as a tongue-in-cheek tribute to the family dog, Penelope—never meant to be anything serious. But then the books took off, and the name stuck. Behind the scenes, Penelope Bloom is actually a husband-and-wife team. He handles the writing; she edits, helps with brainstorming, and runs the reader-facing side of things (like social media and messages). So if you’ve chatted with “Penelope” online, you’ve likely been talking to her—with the author chiming in whenever needed. Together, they’ve built the voice readers know and love.

Miss Matchmake was so much to dive into. Especially after meeting Lucas and Mila. Of course, I wasn't completely surprised by their insta-romance but hey it worked for me. When you know - you know and these two had great chemistry. Even though they didn't meet on the right foot, they had a ton of sexual tension to help them along the way.

Now this book flew by and it had it's fair share of drama. Especially when Cynthia was involved. She was a handful and a complete hot mess. Also, the word 'no' definitely needs to be added into her vocabulary. So it's safe to assume that I wasn't a huge fan of her and I wasn't surprised by what happened in her life either.

As for Lucas and Mila, I'm definitely happy with their ending. I hope they continue to grow their family and live happily ever after. They deserved it and they were cute too.

The smaller the town, the bigger the...

Hearts I was going to say hearts! Sheesh get your mind out of the gutter! ;)

Penelope Bloom is back to her roots with this great, down to earth, fun and sexy romance novel. I think it’s one of my favourites from this author!

From the moment Lucas and Mila first meet, sparks fly! The chemistry is electric and catches both of them off guard. Mila was convinced she’d never meet her match and Lucas doesn’t have time for love, with all of the family business drama that he’s dealing with right now.

This book has great characters: from the corrupt small-town politicians, the crazy client of Mila’s, the gorgeous brooding cowboy and the smart and stubborn city-girl. I loved the snappy, spitfire banter between Mila and Lucas. The story has laugh out loud moments, really sweet moments and hot, hot steamy moments. It even has a little family drama, suspense and intrigue.

I absolutely loved this romantic comedy from Penelope Bloom. It was lighthearted, fun, sexy and sweet.

I just couldn't believe anything that happened in this book. And not in a good way. This kind of stuff don't happen in real life.
It really bothered me that the girl, Mila, decided that she was in love after, like, two days of meeting the guy.
Also, the "suspense"... was lame.

I had wanted to read this author's books for a few months now but time is short and I have a huge TBR that is getting bigger by the minute.
I've heard so many good things about her books that it only made my curiosity grow.
Penelope Bloom as a funny, sassy and hot writing that melted my heart.
Miss Matchmaker is her new book and will tell you the stories of Mila and Lucas
Mila is a city girl that has a unique job. She's a matchmaker. Her latest job send her to a new town but she will get more that she is bargain for...
Lucas is the typical cowboy. The man of the land. He lost his dad and that torn him apart. But what he wasn't expecting was his brother betrayal and pressure. Then he sees a city girl in his town and was not so kind but...
Beautiful and funny story. The plot was great and the interaction between the characters was funny and intense. The story progressed smoothly and quickly and I loved every word. The suspense, betrayal and greed are present as well as love, friendship and loyalty. We are even presented with some really good hot scenes...
I love Mila and Lucas story and I need to ask... Penelope will we have a book about Amy? Please tell me you will because she deserves one.

Matchmaker heaven!

Mila, the matchmaker, finds herself in a small town of all places, to help match her latest client to a man. However, this time is different in that the client has chosen who she wants to be matched with as opposed to Mila finding the 'right' man for her client. Mila bumps into Country - a sexy, hot cowboy with attitude! Things heat up between them and before they know it, they are falling for each other. However, due to various people getting involved and situations they cause, this puts a bit of a spin on their romantic interlude and puts Mila in danger, when her client reveals how his brother is looking to use her as leverage. Luckily they get the HEA they deserve!

I received an advance copy for an honest review, which is given freely!

When city girl Mila crosses paths with country boy Lucas in the small town of Wades Creek the two are ready armed and ready for a showdown!
Mila goes to the small town of less than 500 to help women get the man she wants-
What she ends up getting instead is one helluva crazy adventure, a crash course on what cows really like, learning how to assault people with clothing effectively ** still making me laugh 8 hours later**
And so much more!
This hot, fast paced, drama laced HILARIOUS, romanced up insta- all read was just what I needed!
Seriously! I was not expecting the book to be as it was- but oh what a wonderful surprise it turned out to be!
The flirtatious, laugh out loud banter between them could be a standalone book!
If you are looking for a book, with drama, sweetness, hot times, an alpha man who loves his cows, and plenty of fun then I would say this is the book for you!
#ONECLICK material!!

This is a really fun read. Mila and Lucas have this great connection and a really fun vibe to their banter. They really have amazing connection but there are lots of complications that don't make it easy for them to be together.

I enjoyed the story and the characters. The author does a great job really developing their relationship. There is plenty of interesting twists to the story to keep you involved.

This story was an entertaining blend of hilarity, steaminess, and intrigue! I found Mila to be a really likable character. Lucas and Mila got off to a rough start, but their chemistry was undeniably hot! Loved the characters, even the ones we love to hate! I voluntarily reviewed an advance reader copy of this book.

Miss Matchmaker by Penelope Bloom a star-crossed five-star read. This is my first Penelope Bloom read, but it won’t be the last, I enjoyed this read so much. The level of steam was just right, it was hot and heavy without being all that you were reading. Mila has a talent for matchmaking but doesn’t make very much money with it, when she gets an offer that will give her some much needed money she takes the chance. That means going to a small town and doing something she doesn’t allow herself to do, meet a man. This was a great story, there was some true depth to the characters and some situations that will stop your heart. If you are looking for a great read, with a hot cowboy, this is the read for you. Penelope Bloom I can’t wait to see what you bring us next.

This was another good one from Ms. Bloom! The writing flowed well, and I thought that Lucas and Mila were good together. I wish Mila would have stood up for herself more. I felt like she was letting everyone else push her to do things, instead of doing what made her happy. She does some pretty foolish things too, but I guess they were for the right reasons. I really enjoyed the ending and the HEA.

So here’s the thing: I started reading this with my best friend, because we wanted to read a few books together this weekend, and we’re both quick readers. Plus, our prompt for the reading challenge was a small-town romance, so we picked this up.

I am...conflicted and confused with this.

Mila runs a matchmaking business with her best friend Amy, and they’re currently in the dumps with their finances. When a client offers them a hefty sum to help her get together with a specific man, they can’t decline. They accept the offer, pose as reporters and head down to Wade Creek.

This should’ve been my first red flag, because Mila was ready to give up on her morals and the whole point of her business for the money. Which...businesses do do that, but the type of services she’s providing turns it into a moral dilemma more than anything. Despite the guilt and the screaming alarms in her mind, she went straight ahead with it!

Lucas Tate is...well...a cowboy. He runs a small ranch that used to be his father’s, which his brother keeps trying to force him to give up to him. He runs into Mila, and they get off on the wrong foot from the very start. They’re spitting fire at each other, but somehow still lusting and I don’t want to say this is enemies to lovers because that trope requires a lot more buildup but there was something going on here. Regardless, it takes them no time to get down with each other, and apparently fall in love.

Unknown to Mila, Lucas is the guy she’s here to help her client win back. She doesn’t normally let the client pick the man, but because of her desperation, she does and once she finds out it’s Lucas, she still helps the client once. After the disaster that is the set-up date, she goes to tell him and they end right back up in bed together before she can say anything. It’s only when the client finds them together that it gets revealed which...was confusing, and happened way too fast to make sense of.

The next conflict comes with Lucas’ brother, who’s willing to go to any ends to get that land from Lucas. Because of him, Lucas and Mila lay low (i.e. spend their days in a hotel room doing shenanigans), somehow end up on a jeans terrorist list with SWAT pointing rifles at them, manage a car chase and someone gets shot in the midst of all of that.

All of this in less than fifty pages.

My biggest thing with this book was...they were having sex everywhere and it definitely seemed like their minds lived in the gutter 100% of the time. I’m not sure what I was expecting, but the book wasn’t quite drawn out with the ambitious storylines that it wanted to take and many of them were half-hearted. I got lost trying to figure out where each plot point came from, why Lucas forgave Mila so quickly, why Mila let Lucas treat her like that and when the story ended, I was left with more questions than ever.

This book wasn’t for me, but if you’re a fan of super high-paced romances, this is for you.

This has to be one of Penelope Bloom's best book yet, it has everything, a little suspense, humour, lust/love, my oh my steamy scenes, a hot cowboy and a beautiful woman. When Lucas (Country) first runs into Mila on the sidewalk he can't help but tease her and even though some of it was a bit rude she takes it but also isn't too offended. Until he splashes her with his truck and she storms over to his place where she twists her ankle and he has to then carry her to the house to help her. From there the humour, attraction and sparks come flying off of the pages and I fell in love with both of them. But she has lied to him, she's not a reporter but a matchmaker who is there to help a woman with a man but Mila doesn't know that the man the woman wants is him. Lucas is now dealing with his brother who is pure evil and wants his land, the death of his dad just months before and his ex who won't stop coming onto him but Mila seems to make that all go away and he feels peace when he is with her.
A great great great story that I chuckled throughout with the banter, puns and antics they go through and I laughed out loud with the elevator scene in the police station and what led up to that. Not only that but the way the story was written, there is drama but Mila tries to come clean as soon as possible, not dragging it out and Lucas doesn't waste time going after her...refreshing and perfect. They stick together and it just makes the book that much better and worth it.
The BEST ONE yet from this author and I'm hoping for more from her with this type of read...KUDOS Penelope Bloom !!!! 5 ++++++ stars

This was a fun read for me. I loved Lucas (Country) and Mila. Mila is a professional matchmaker and is hired by a woman who wants to get her ex back.

When Mila gets to the town where her clients ex lives in, she has an encounter with the local hottie Lucas. Unbeknownst to Mila, Lucas is the ex that her client wants to get back together with.

There is an attraction between the two. However, their personalities clashed immediately. He’s rude, she’s sassy and when she discovers who he is, she fights her attraction to him. When he discovers who she is and what her agenda his, he kicks her to the curb.

Will they ever warm up to each other? Will they give in to their attraction? Will they give in to temptation? Will Mila stay professional and do her job? Will the powers that be sabotage plans that Lucas has for the land that he inherits? Will their attraction to each other turn out to be a match made in heaven? Hmmmm…… All are very good questions but I’ll never tell.

Penelope has done an excellent job with Lucas and Mila. Mila is a city girl who works as a matchmaker. She gets hired to help a woman get her ex back. The money she will pay will help Mila expand her business. When Mila gets to Wade's Creek she runs into Lucas. Lucas can't stand city girls so he is a jerk to her. Mila ends up with her pants ruined when Lucas leaves. Since he told her his address she goes there to give him a piece of her mind. Lucas has lived in Wade's Creek since he was five. Lucas has been dealing with a lot lately so he mostly keeps to himself. He lost his dad a few months past and now people are wanting to buy his ranch for the oil under it, but he won't sell. When Mila gets out to his ranch she twists her ankle and Lucas feels bad for her so helps her out. Even though they butt heads they can't deny their attraction to each other. However, Mila doesn't know that Lucas is the person she is supposed to be matching up with his ex. When she finds out she tries to keep her distance but it turns out to be harder than she thought. When Lucas finds out the truth he kicks Mila off his land. Will he realize he made a mistake andget Mila back where she belongs before it's too late? I voluntarily reviewed an Advanced Reader Copy of this book. This has action in and out of the bed and deceit from people who are closer than they think. The chemistry between Mila and Lucas is hot, hot, hot.

I received this book with the understanding that I could leave a voluntary and honest review.

In this book we meet Mila and Lucas Tate. Mila has come to a small town to help her new client Cynthia get the man she wants. There are many things that send red flags up for Mila but she pushes them aside for the chance to help her business and her friend and co-worker. Little did she know that all of her feelings were well founded. Her client had met this man before they had broken up and she is trying in all the wrong ways to get him back. Can she save her business and have some fun with the man she has met in this small town?

Lucas doesn't know who this city girl is that has come into his town but he does know he wants to see more of her. However with his brother trying to get the land his father left him and his ex bugging him at every turn he wonders if he will get his shot with her. Then he begins to wonder if he should even go for it because he knows she won't be staying long-term. Can he have it all though or will all the forces drive him away from all that he knows and wants in this world?

This is a great book about finding love in some of the oddest places. There are some big twist in this story that will have you hooked from the first word to the very end. I want to tell you all about them but don't want to ruin the story for anyone else. I will say I would highly recommend this story to anyone and everyone.

Perfectly sassy, sexy and suspenseful insta-small-town romance!

I received an Advance Reader Copy for Miss Matchmaker written by Penelope Bloom and voluntarily reviewed this book. This was indeed a small-town romance, but throw in a dash of big-city drama and you have yourself a great read from this author. Just when Mila is desperate to make some money with her not-so-successful matchmaking business, she takes on a new client from nearby Wade’s Creek. As soon as Mila hits town, she runs into a sexy cowboy with an extreme attitude towards her, clearly a city-slicker, but, still, a mere stranger. Taken aback but still strongly drawn to “Country” she follows her heart and starts something with him that she has no control over…only to realize that this was the same guy that she was supposed to be working on with her client - the person who was paying her a lot of money to do her job.

“Country” or Lucas has his own set of issues. He had just lost his father, and his brother was pressuring him to sell his father’s land and home. Only Lucas just didn’t realize just how far he would go to take it from him.

This story has a nice, suspenseful twist that adds a layer of rockiness onto the layer of sweet of their quickly developing relationship, with sassy and sexy main characters that keep the pace going.

Matchmaker Mila travels to small town Wade's Creek when a client offers a small fortune. Mila is intrigued when she meets a tall, dark and handsome cowboy who goes by the nickname Country, but she's not going to anything about it. Or so she keeps telling herself. Ranch owner Lucas can't help flirting with Mila even though the last thing he needs in his life is a city girl. Lucas has work to do and no time for pretty city girls but Mila's cute as hell and Lucas just can't stop flirting with her every chance he gets. Which pisses him off. Things between Mila and Lucas start heating up before she realizes that Lucas is the guy her client wanted her to land. Lucas is furious when he finds out and tells Mila he never wants to see her again. After Lucas cools down he wants Mila back but she's already left town. But when Lucas finds out his brother Ronnie plans to kidnap Mila to use as leverage to get Lucas to sign the ranch over to him so he can sell it off to oil companies, Lucas drives off to the city to find Mila. Will Lucas be able to save Mila and get a HEA with her?

I received this book in advance for a voluntary honest review. I just love Penelope Bloom stories. Mila is a professional matchmaker with a struggling business. In need of funding she accepts a client who offers her a lot of money to match her with a man she has already set her sights on. Normally Mila prefers to match her clients with men they have not already met or dated but finances don't really give her a choice. She travels to the small town of Wade's Creek to get the lay of the land. Upon arriving she meets a country boy who likes to give her a hard time. Sparks fly and they connect until she realizes her county boy is Lucas Tate, the man she is supposed to set her client up with. Trying to be professional for her unlikable client she distances herself from Lucas and gets to work. Only problem is that Lucas can't stand the client and is determined to have Mila. Trouble comes into play when Lucas' brother is determined to sell the family ranch that belongs to Lucas to a developer for millions of dollars. Unwilling to sell puts Lucas and Mila in danger as his brother is willing to injure or kill to make the sale. Love, danger, humor and sweetness round out this great book.

This is a new author for me so I wasn’t sure what to expect but this book was really good and has a little bit of everything. When Matchmaker Mila is hired to help a woman named Cynthia Styles make a match with a man named Lucas Tate at first she is a little hesitant, usually she’s the one finding the match, not the client, but she offers to help anyway. Heading to the small town of Wade’s Creek, Mila gets more than she bargained for when she runs into local cowboy everyone calls “Country” when he flirts and insults her all at the same time. Though as Mila slowly lets her guard down she finds herself have a little fun with “Cowboy” and she begins to see him in a different light – the only problem is when “Cowboy” turns out to be none other than the man she was sent to match, Lucas Tate. As the plot thickens, and with all the twists and turns along the way, will Mila and Lucas be able to find a way to stay together?

Mila couldn't find a man of her own but she was really good at matchmaking so when Cynthia offered her and her assistant Amy a ton of money to get her back with Cynthia's old boyfriend it was a dream come true.
When Country gets a look at the city girl something stirs inside and he hasn't felt anything in years. When they end up having sex he can't believe it and was hoping to see her again but every time they try and get together something or someone get in the way.
Cynthia is wired with an earpiece so she can say something to Lucas to change his mind but he only has eyes for Mila. Now his brother Ronnie is coming around trying to force him to sell to the oil companies to make a profit and he doesn't want to. When Lucas finds out who Mila really is he throws her off his land but immediately feels bad cause he wants her back.
I loved this story and how fast paced it was and Lucas sounds like he may have found love with Mila even if she goes.

Great chemistry between these two; banter between them was funny and sexy. I would have liked to meet more developed characters as these ones were fairly superficially described, and the few small town and secondary characters we met were pretty stereotyped. The storyline was interesting and the bit of intrigue was nice.

I found the characterization of a rancher and scenarios related to ranching to be unrealistic. A full-time cattle rancher is going to have a heck of a lot more than the small herd described here; there is never any mention of others. They certainly won't all be named. And teaching a bunch of cows to sit like dogs, and especially them remembering it years later? Nuh-uh. Not happening. While the dialogue and scenarios were funny, I really would have liked to see a more educated view of ranching if that's an important part of the story; this rancher did nothing related to running his business except dig post holes and repair a fence.

I really enjoyed reading Mila and Lucas’ story Miss Matchmaker. It’s a heartwarming love story between a sweet matchmaker and a brooding ranch owner.
Mila helps women make meaningful connections. She’s selective about who she matches with the women that come to her for help but when Cynthia comes to her and offers her a small fortune to get Lucas to fall for her she goes against her better judgment and takes the job.
In Wades Creek, the very handsome and brooding Lucas wants nothing more than to be left alone to run his ranch and mourn the loss of his father. Only his little brother is all over him to sell the land to an oil company. When Lucas refuses his brother hatches a plan to get him out of the way so the land can be his.
Mila meets Lucas on her first day in town and face paced romance full of action, adventure and steamy goodness ensues.

Mila is a matchmaker, just like her mother and all the other generations of women in her family were. Cynthia contacts Mila and is willing to pay an exorbitant amount of money, enough money so that Mila can find a new building and hire more employees. Despite this not being the way Mila works her business, the money is too good to pass up. Mila meets Lucas, aka Country, not realizing it's the man Cynthia wants. Just when the reader thinks this is the storyline, we also learn of Lucas' brother who wants to sell the family farm to the oil company and make millions. Since Lucas isn't willing to do this, there is a dangerous battle between the two brothers, with Mila in the middle. I love Penelope Bloom's writing and this book was another good example of why she is a favorite author of many!

My honest review is for a special copy I voluntarily read.

As always Penelope Bloom does not disappoint. This amazing story was cute and fun to read. It has drama, passion, chemistry, emotions and very hot scenes. It is a bit different story that usual and I like that.
Mila and Lucas are two fantastic and realistic described characters. They a well suited to each other.
Mila is a matchmaker and have a client that chooses to meet Lucas. The problem is that when Mila sees Lucas finds out that is the man she has been having feelings for in years.
There are laughs, sighs, steamy hot scenes and wet panties included when reading this story. I found the hotel scene was great!
I love the way Penelope Bloom writes and the stories just captivates me from page one to the end.
Really cute and sexy story. I can only recommend it to others.

I loved this matchmaking romance with a twist from Penelope Bloom! When Mila takes on her newest client the amount of money she stands to make will help her company go a long way, but what do you do when you unintentionally fall for the guy you are supposed to be setting your client up with? When Mila meets Lucas she meets him as Country and has never looked at the file on Lucas her client gave her. Lucas is determined to mourn his father and save his ranch from his greedy brother, thinking he doesn't have the time for what this city girl could mean, but finds he can't stay away. Lucas and Mila are hot together and with the danger and drama around them they find themselves falling faster and deeper than either thought could happen. I loved this book and these characters. Note: I received an advanced review copy in exchange for my honest review.

Let me start by noting I don't spoil anything as best I can in a review so no moments be it emotional or otherwise will be mentioned - I don't wish to ruin your experience.

I liked the book early on, but by the very end I was even more into it. It's charming nature and the relationship that unfolds between the main characters is endearing.

I liked the story itself and all that happened and in no way was I lost or confused, all good signs of a great read. The characters are good, I didn't find it boring in the slightest either; therefore I can easily say it's worth reading yourself.

I'll also add, I was into it so much I rarely stoped reading and I just had to get to the end to see how it all played out. It's my recommendation you should get yourself a copy of 'Miss Matchmaker', you won't be disappointed!

This is a story that has a little bit of everything. Romance, laughs, interesting characters, suspense, and past that play havoc on our presents.
Mila runs a match making agency and she has been asked to help Cynthia get back with her high school sweetheart - Lucas. This is something Mila never does but the money is great.
Lucas is a moody rancher who is trying to live his life until he sees Mila. For reasons neither understands there is an immediate attraction. Little does Mila know who Country really is and how he will effect her company.
Throw in a brother who wants Lucas' land and you have a little action and adventure. You'll laugh through the jeans incident.
This book focused on the two main characters and gave the reader just enough outside drama to make this more than just the normal romance.
I was given this book for an honest voluntary review.

Ok this might not sound the way I intend it to? But I surprisingly liked this book. Normally when I come across a book about a cowboy I don't pick it up because it's not really my thing. Im much more of a... crazy biker or mafia bad boy with a soft side type of girl.

However, the way this was written and the way everything just flowed so well? I do admit before I realized what was going on I kept picking up my kindle to read 'just a little more' of this book.

A little bit of drama, some crazy sex scenes and oh that scene with the jeans!! Oh I was laughing so hard. All in all this was a wonderful short, amazing and funny book and I really enjoyed it

I love Penelope Bloom!  She really oulls you into a stpry right from the start. What happens when you, as a matchmaker, start falling for the guy you are supposed to set your client up with?  This is a question that Mila has ask herself.  This book has passion, disdain, humor, danger, hiding out, more humor, hot sex, and really bad puns!  This was an absolute delight to read and I devoured it as quickly as I could!!  I voluntarily reviewed an advanced copy of this book.
