About the author

Joanne Fox Phillips is a graduate of the University of Texas at Austin and the director of internal audit for a midstream oil and gas company in Tulsa, Oklahoma. She is a CPA, certified internal auditor, and certified fraud examiner. This is her first attempt at writing something longer and hopefully more entertaining than an audit report. She thanks her friends, family, coworkers, and editorial team for suffering through early drafts and providing encouragement and advice throughout the process.

I have been waiting for this book since I finished the first one: Revenge of the Cube Dweller. Redemption did not disappoint! Like the first book, Tanzie was a character that you can easily love and root for in spite of - or maybe because of - her flaws. The plot was developed and kept you guessing as well as being fast-paced. The secondary characters were so strong in this book that they really added so much to the story!

I can't wait to see what Tanzie gets up to next!

This is the second in a series of books recommended to me by a fellow accountant. While I enjoyed the first, Revenge of the Cube Dweller, if found this second attempt much better. Somehow this author combines auditing (my field) with Catholic guilt, humor, mystery and murder to form a terrific and amusing read. The characters are unique yet familiar and the story is much like a cozy mystery. I plan to recommend this to my accounting students as a glimpse into the auditing field. By the way, my accounting-challenged mother read it and loved it as well, so its not just for us numbers people. Really looking forward to another installment.

I received this book through the goodreads giveaways program. I'm in accounting myself, so it especially intrigued me.
Tanzie, an internal auditor for an energy company, arranges an audit on false pretenses to accommodate a trip. As one might expect, she uncovers shenanigans are in fact present. She finds her time torn between the `fake` audit and her real reason for travelling.
Cute, light story, and a fast read.

Loved it! I laughed the whole way through. The characters were exactly that, characters and were so well developed that I think I could recognize them on the street if I met them. Had no idea how it was going to end. Definitely a fun weekend read.

Lighthearted, humorous plot with twists and turns and all of the nostalgia of growing up with Catholic guilt (yes, it's real). Each character was well developed and fun to follow. Through the honest eyes of Tanzie, this book was such a refreshing read!

This is a Goodreads book.
It is easy reading casual style not stilted or formal.
Page 2 alludes to the first in the series just enough to pique your interest to go back and see how Tanzie got to this point.
As I started reading, it brought back many similar memories of growing up that I had.
It includes many problems we face today such as whistle blowing, long airport lines and accounting fraud.
It is fast moving with 2 stories and many twists and turns.
It ends with a nice lead in to the third book that makes you wonder what Tanzie will be involved in the next time.

I was interested, being in a finance/ accounting field myself.
It was pretty light and easy reading, with a few twists, not horribly unbelievable. I did get the impression I should have read the prior one first, but just for better background.
The main character is an auditor who calls in a tip in order to get assigned to an audit. As expected, it turns out that coincidentally, there could really be an issue.

Redemption of the Cube Dweller is a fun romp. The book is populated by a rich array of well-drawn characters -- from the bad guys to the love interest to the Father who grew up with Tanzie to her sister the Sister (and the rest of the siblings). And then there's Tanzie herself. She proves that a woman of a certain age can be independent, intelligent, and, yes, sexy. Joanne Fox Phillips even makes accounting fun, and this from someone with a degree in English who is allergic to numbers

I enjoyed this one as well as the first in series, it has lots of good comments about internal auditors, (as CAE I can relate to all of them :D) but I found hardly unlikely accidentally overhearing the bid rigging scheme in coffee shop, therefore I gave 4 stars. But, maybe this was on purpose - to point out that sometimes internal auditor have just pure luck :) Nevertheless, thoroughly enjoyable read! I can not wait what happens next.

I loved reading this book. This is the second book in the series and I need to read the first book. This can be read as a stand lone but I like reading all the books in a series. I like how the author portrays the emotions the characters are going through. It is a really great book.

Great story, crazy (in a nice way) protagonist, Tanzie, and an interesting cast of characters of workmates and sisters and the rest.

Just like for the first book of the series, I love seeing my profession of internal auditor portrayed in a novel. I think Joanne just goes far enough in explaining the detail without getting too dull. It helps in this book that Tanzie has to explain things to someone who is a novice in the field (pun intended - what pun? Just read it, reader!) It's a classic author's ploy but it works nicely.

Joanne is a friend of mine and I had the enormous pleasure of reading an earlier draft. That has given me a great deal of insight into the whole process of working from an idea to a finished novel, for which opportunity I thank her. But also, having read and reviewed a variety of novels recently, some of which demonstrate such potential but which haven't been worked through or which rely on telling instead of showing, I really appreciate the well thought-through plot and the clever way information is revealed to the characters and to us. I'm not entirely sure I approve of all the actions that Tanzie takes but then, as she says, she's "a work in progress"!
