WARNING, THIS IS EXTREME HORROR! NOT FOR THE FAINT OF HEART!
Bind the Native-American deity and lose the perfect life or sacrifice the world for personal happiness, a choice no one should have to make.
An atheist, Don recently had everything he ever desired fall into his lap when he moved from Chicago to Rio Rancho. His enemies die, he wins over his perfect twenty-two-year-old dream girl, he lands a hot job with amazing perks, and he gets a promotion in his first week. Only he can't claim this benevolence derives from his own merits.
He soon learns a Native-American deity—who demands Don call him "The Not" because of his disbelief in spirituality—has showered him with favors . . . for a price. He'll either invoke the god and watch American cities get wiped off the face of the earth one by one, or renounce him and lead a meaningless life without love.
Don finally resolves to bind him, but The Not finds another servant, and the next city goes up in smoke. On the run, Don faces the fight of his life as he tries to convince the world this evil spirit is real and intends to destroy mankind.
A. R. Braun is the author of the horror novella, 66SICK, and the horror novels, Book of Set, Book of Sprites, Book of Shadows, Dogman of Illinois, Heaven's Witches, Autonomy, The Not, and Only Women in Hell, as well as the short-story collections Phantom World, Insanity, Grimoire, and Horrorbook. He became interested in horror when he read “The Telltale Heart” as an assignment in high school. By the time he was eighteen, he had the whole Stephen King collection and started writing short stories for friends and family. His main goal was to put together a heavy metal band, and he spent many years working blue collar jobs and seeking out musicians, but never fell in with the right kind of guys.
He has numerous publication credits, including “NREM Sleep” in the D.O.A. anthology; “Freaks” in Downstate Story magazine; “The Unwanted Visitors” in the Vermin anthology; “Coven” in the Heavy Metal Horror anthology; “Remember Me?” in Horror Bound magazine; “Shades of Gray (the Symbiosis of Light and Dark)” in Micro Horror magazine; "Little Ghoul" in the Mad Men anthology and “The Interloper” in the Bonded by Blood 2: a Romance in Red anthology. Weightlifting, mixed martial arts, and audio comedy are a few of his current interests.
This was one sick freakin book! Just beyond, is all I can say. Kind of like Coffin County, something insane that should've never been. A published book by another author has the same plot, but A. R.'s has an earlier copyright date.
