The hilarious, but also murderous chase of the multimillion-dollar prize, has now led the three rogue employees from the Fingerelli Investment Group (FIG), and the group of Asian scientists to St. Taino Island, a small island in the Caribbean. Learning that Eleanor “Bunny” Boatwright, the grandmother of the murdered Alex Capitano, and now the focus of the chase, is to be married on the island, they have all covertly, so they think, followed her down to the island. Unbeknownst to the three employees, and the Asian scientests, the FBI is also on the island. Michael Thomas Fingerelli, Sr. the president of FIG, and father to one of the string of murdered people, is awaiting one-hundred miles to the east, tucked away in his north Cartagena cocaine manufacturing compound. Fingerelli, Sr. takes the lead and kidnaps Bunny Boatwright, with the intention to run her through one of his “persuasive” seminars to sign over her St. Taino property to the Fingerelli Investment Group. During a harebrained attempt to escape, Bunny finds herself holding a pistol in the face of a man who is her only hope to escape a certain brutal death. He is also the very man she believes murdered her beloved grandson, in cold blood for no reason at all. Read the conclusion of Black Diamond – The Fourth Missing Bullet to see how Bunny decides to avenge her grandson’s death.
I really enjoyed Part two of this book. Part one was sometimes hard to push through be/c it was bogged down in a lot of heavy description. Part two was really good. It was filled with lots of dialog between the characters and the story really gets moving. I ended up rooting for one of the bad guys who ends up shifting sides and really is the anithero of the story. If you like murder mystery with a touch of action then this would be a good book for you.
It starts out a little slow, in my opinion. Felt like a little too much detail/explanation. It picks up and doesn’t slow down after that. I like the characters, and love how everything played out. Needs some editing, but none of the mistakes stopped the story from being great. I really enjoyed it.
