Book 3 in the Harbinger series. The cohesion betweeen the short stories is much inproved, more seamless, almost like a whole. The last short story I found particularly engaging becasue it really makes you think about how big the universe is and thus, how big and mighty a God has to exist to keep it all running. No wonder the Bible says, "If God is for us, who can be against us?" Following the themes of the stories, I would add, "A God Who has invented so many types of science and math and hung the universe on them, things we're only now discovering, deserves worship filled with awe, wonder, humility, gratitude. We cannot take a God like that for granted. Human DNA runs on 4 amino acids, and yet, the variety of humans on Earth, all the differences and similarities, that those 4 amino acids produce, is an amazing testament to the Creator's power. Indeed, the psalmist's words echo in my brain when I consider what a mighty God allows our service to Him, and loves us enough to redeem us: "What is man, that You are mindful of him?" Indeed, we are like ants in the universe, but He has made us a little lower than the angels in His love for us. Tank has the rights of it. We may noot understand everything we'd like to, but while God expects us to use our brains (the Bible tells us to have the mind of Christ - a mind of obedience and service), there are some things we won't understand and when that happens, we must obey what He tells us to do, and trust Him for the explanation when we make Heaven. Like children in our world, there are things they - and us, with God - will not understand until we know more.
This book is wonderdul for showing the depth and breadth of God's power. No matter how many or few universes there are, He is in control. And I am grateful for that.
