Fires are being set in the Blights. It wouldn’t be so unusual in the lawless area, except that now Vincent is being blamed for them. Can he find the source of the fires before his life is set ablaze?
An engaging read with good characters and well created setting. I felt I was in the shady world of the Blights with the central character Vincent. Tension is created by pushing him into a situation where he’s forced to prove his innocence concerning several fires which have been set.
I wanted to know more and will definitely be looking at the rest of this series once my other reading commitments are over.
Vincent and Penny survive in the Blights which is the worst place in the city for them to be. Vincent works odd jobs to provide enough money to take care of his sister. He is bullied by Reed, the meanest jerk in town, who tries to frame him for setting fires to his own buildings. Vincent and his friends must figure out whom is setting the fires to clear Vincents name. This was a short fun read and I am looking forward to reading more of this series.
I don’t generally read short stories, but this was well constructed and the characters were well incorporated. The main characters are a brother and sister surviving in a hostile environment. Work is scarce but they do what they can. When a fire occurs in one of the B&B’s the protagonist is blamed, but it is not as simple as denying it. The ending explains the mystery and concludes the story.
I love this & I can't wait for more. I will be also leaving a review on Goodreads @ Amazon. And letting everyone know about it. So i gave it a 5 Stars.
