8/1/2009, Highway # 101 (Carteret County, N.C.) Jim Stockbridge (28, Annie’s’ BMF, East Beach EMS retired Coast Guard, rescue swimmer) & Devon Washington (East Beach EMS) were called to the scene of a serious car accident.
Mac Canaday (husband) explained to the 2 who was in the vehicle.
Annie Archer (Jim’s BFF) & Deputy Jerome Dupree arrived on the scene also.
2 of the 3 bodies on the ground were engulfed in flames from the car gas leak.
The Cannery (1400 Reservoir St., East Beach, N.C.) Jim Stockbridge (East Beach EMS) & Sharon Duncan (East Beach EMS) were on the scene.
It was Devon he had been shot 3 times. He later died.
Garden Terrace Apartment complex (Core Street, East Beach, N.C.). Lieutenant Rico Rivetti (East Beach PD, Knight Squad) was attending to Officer Charlie Kennedy (East Beach PD) & Officer Brandon Peters (East Beach PD) had been shot.
Ruby Washington (73, Devon’s grandmother) head had been bashed in.

A very awesome book cover, great font & writing style. A very well written thriller book. It was very easy for me to read/follow from start/finish & never a dull moment. There were no grammar/typo errors, nor any repetitive or out of line sequence sentences. Lots of exciting scenarios, with several twists/turns & a huge set of unique characters to keep track of. This could also make another great thriller movie, or better yet a mini TV series. There is no doubt in my mind this is a very easy rating of 5 stars.

I wanted to like this book. There is not a plethora of Christian fiction in the thriller category. And this book offered up a lot in that area with the team from the East Beach Police, although I did become confused as the author switched between their tags and their real names. And there was just enough romance, which never draws me in, to keep things interesting. I also liked the setting on the coast of North Carolina. I would have welcomed even more description of the area. I went to Google maps to get a sense of all the locations the author mentioned and to determine where and how far Durham was from the coast.
However, there were a number of things that bothered me. I belong to a Christian fiction book club and with all of the killing that happened in the book, even though it was the ‘bad’ guys, there is no way we would read or discuss this book. And in at least one instance, crude language was noted and there was a fair amount of smoking and drinking. I am sure this was the author’s attempt to give the book some realism but the book would have been just as good without it. It definitely is not a book that our book club readers would be drawn to nor is it a book that I could recommend to the patrons in the church library that I oversee.
The author convinced me that he was indeed knowledgeable in the world of paramedics and in sailing. The problem is I am not an expert in either. So there were a number of descriptive paragraphs that I just skipped over because I had no idea what he was talking about. When a term is used that is not generally known, the author needs to figure out a way to describe what he is talking about so he doesn’t lose his reader. You can never assume your readers know something. I was half way through the book before it dawned on me what ICW meant and I lived on the coast of Florida for several years.

Received a copy in exchange for an honest review. I generally like the overall concept. I realize this is part of a series, but you can read as it a stand alone. It was fast paced suspense. Lots of twists and that I quite enjoyed. What I had a problem with was some of the characters and their development. The author didn't explain some of the relationships well enough for, and some for too far fetched. But that is just my personal choice. Overall it was a nice read.

The title intrigued me, was the paramedic the killer or was the killer targeting paramedics. It was the second of the two choices. First, a fiery crash from which not all the victims were rescued; then fast forward six years to a time when masked men started killing paramedics and their families. What is the connection? Read to find out. This was a we-written book with plenty of action.

Another action-packed, thriller in every sense of the word. The characters, scenes, and situations are again vividly depicted as in the first installment, transporting the reader into Jim's world. Patterson is a definite craftsman of the written word. I was immediately hooked. And this is again not a read for the squeamish because it is filled with numerous accounts of violence. Jim is a man's man that's larger than life and able to endure more than most. In my opinion, the slight hint of romance that is touched upon leaves one more unsettled than fulfilled -- composed of detached indifference and unfounded emotions combined with mere physical attraction, not very believable and not what Christian relationships should be solely composed of. I would have also liked to have seen Jim's faith and personal growth more evidenced in this novel, such as him allowing Ricco and his men to do their jobs instead of plowing on ahead like usual and trying to take matters into his own hands. I think the story could have been just as action-packed and more spiritually uplifting had that taken place. Overall a good read and better than the first in some aspects, especially with the omission of God's name being used in such a way it was regularly taken in vain like in the first novel.

I thought this was a new to me author, but discovered I read the first book in this series 8 years ago. (Can't remember anything about it). This one didn't impress me a lot. There was some cursing, and the main character came off very violent, smoked cigarettes, flirted with women and was engaged, but was supposedly a Christian.
And some of the descriptions were much more gory than necessary.
The plot was ok...but this book doesn't make me want to read anything else by this author.

Eh. It starts good, but it gets a little over the top. Also, I found the writer character disagreeable and pushy while Jim's girlfriend, a bad person. It all seemed too obvious that they were going to break up, and he was going to end up with the writer. On the other hand, the bad guys extra gory and the special ops police too perfect.

Tragic but really good.
The heroes, all of them were inspiring, the police officers and paramedics. They were brave, but human, strong, yet beatable. The romantic part of the plot wasn't as clear, or as well developed as the criminal / mystery part was. I knew who all the bad guys were very quickly, but loved how they finally got them all. A very enjoyable book.

Full of action from the beginning to a climatic ending The author shows a good knowledge of paramedic operations. The action just doesn't stop on land or on the water. Anxious to read more from this author.

I really enjoyed the first book more than I did this one. Truth is, I really couldn't finish it. I honestly don't know why it might need to give it another read. It any rate, somebody like it, but I didn't like it as well.

The book has some strong male characters (some likable and some pretty scary ones). There's also a second chance ending of several survivors of a really violent tragedy. Yet, there was too much violence, and the plot was way to scary to imagine.

I liked "The Paramedic Killer". It a fast paced adventure with several surprising twists in it. Using a paramedic as the somewhat flawed hero made the story interesting and different. I would recommend this book to anyone who wants a actin packed story.

First time reading this author. Have not read the first book in the series, but really don't need to as this one stood alone pretty well. I found the violence to be a bit too graphic for my taste and the characters less than believable. The storyline is decent and suspense level respectable.

Pat Patterson brings us a suspense that will keep you on the edge of your seat until the very last page is turned. This story revolves around paramedic, Jim Stockbridge, from Core Creek, North Carolina.
6 years ago his unit respond to a horrific head on crash and being the first on the scene he knew he should wait for heavy rescue ( a firefighter with specialized equipment ), but his training propelled him to try to help anyway. He assessed the first vehicle and realized it was to late to help the three occupants. At the other vehicle there was a lot of confusion as family members are trying to extricate other family from the carnage. With the smell of gas permeating the air everyone knew it was only a matter of time until an explosion. Of course no one foresaw how the explosion would rock their small tight knit community.
Fast forward 6 years and Jim is still working as a paramedic on East Beach in North Carolina. He's been dealing with depression, but also a lot of anger since the death of his best friend 6 months ago. The next 24 hours will be very intense for him and show the true make of the man.

Paramedic Killer is book two of the Medic 7 Series and man does it pack a punch. Fast paced from the start through the end, this book is hard to put down. I kept telling myself okay just one more chapter, then when that one was finished I'd convince myself to read another, long story short I read this book in one sitting, I literally couldn't put it down. I really liked the first book, but I loved this one.
Paramedic Jim Stockbridge is in trouble, a masked man is hunting him and leaving a trail of bodies along the way. Jim will have to watch his back both on and off duty, but when the police have no leads Jim starts his own investigation. His investigation leads him into the heart of danger, can he make it out alive.

This book started off a little slow for me, but I eventually got into the storyline. It was a very suspenseful book overall. I liked that it was listed in the Christian Category, but after reading it I felt that the characters were somewhat lacking in their faith; especially with all of the suspense that the main character faced. The story line was good, however I would have liked to see more of a romance develop in the story. I have not read the first book in the series, so I am not sure what other background knowledge I missed about the characters. I received this e-book from Lighthouse Publishing in exchange for my honest opinion.

The author includes a lot of description--especially about boats and weapons and other things that I have no interest in. It just slowed down the story for me, but I'm sure people interested in the workings of things would like it.
The entire story covered only a few days, but there so much going on that it seemed much longer.
People who like thrillers with a lot of action and who are comfortable with a lot of violence would probably enjoy this.

Seven years after the rescue people connected to the rescue start being murdered. The story evolves as suspects become clear and more murders happen. Jim and Sadie become involved in the solution. A gripping fast-paced mystery that the reader must not put down. I received this free and had to write a recommendation. Loved the book.

Paramedic Killer shows what the life of a paramedic faces especially in a city or seedier area. Some parts are rather gruesome. The suspense kept your attention and the action was fast-paced. The protagonist seemed to feel he was quite the ladies' man without much depth in his relationships. I was disappointed by the lack of godliness since this was marketed as a Christian book.

A Bright Red Bow
I thought that this book wrapped up this series in a nice package, tying up all the loose ends from the first book and explaining all the twists and turns. I really did not like the author killing off Melanie. I didn't that that was necessary to the story. But anyhow, that's enough shootin' and killin' for now. I think I'll read a good love story or two or three!!

The title intrigued me, was the paramedic the killer or was the killer targeting paramedics. It was the second of the two choices. First, a fiery crash from which not all the victims were rescued; then fast forward six years to a time when masked men started killing paramedics and their families. What is the connection? Read to find out. This was a we-written book with plenty of action.

When you are out saving people on the street,saving yourself shouldn't have to be a thought. What is going on? Non-stop action will keep you guessing in this thriller. This book is hard to put down once you get started. I was given a copy of this book for my honest opinion.

Paramedic Killer
Loved it. The author did an amazing amount of research about Paramedic responsibilities and their work. Loved how everything came together, easpecially Sadi (although I hope she didn't have to repay the money) and Jim. Highly reccommend this book.
