The Devil Wears Timbs by Tranay Adams is a gritty urban tale chronicling the lives and interactions between a number of characters whose relationships are varied, yet somehow intertwined with each other. Malvo is the typical drug dealer with a taste for control and a complete disregard for the lives of anyone not attached to him. He lies, cheats, and steals to ensure his place in the drug arena and also to secure his place with the proper people. A pedophile with a 20 year old wife who is the mother of his 5 year old daughter, has no problem with taking a lover on the side.

A long time crush on Giselle finally opens up for an opportunity he could not pass up when her husband is killed, leaving her to take care of their two children by herself. The greatness of her grief left her hurting, brokenhearted and vulnerable, unfortunately landing her right into the arms of Malvo who wastes no time getting her strung out on heroin. Unable to care for herself or her children landed the role of caregiver and mother to her teenage daughter.

Eureka steps up to the plate without complaint and does what it takes to keep a roof over their heads and food in their stomachs as Giselle falls into the usual patterns of a strung out individual. Forever watchful of her precocious younger brother, Anton, his actions and her subsequent reactions lands them in and out of trouble. Joined at the hip, these siblings have drawn closer to each other realizing that they are all they’ve got.

Fear, a contract killer, whose work leads him to cross paths with the siblings in the midst of one of their issues, has a tender spot for suffering women and children. That quirk is exactly how he ended up with his business partner Constance, a dangerous, mentally ill woman who has lived through heinous circumstances until Fear rescued her. Constance is a fatal attraction kind of woman with a deep pool of love for Fear and a minute tolerance for any female who may be interested in him or who he might be interested in.

All of their lives collide in a downward spiral leaving a reader wanting to know who dies and who survives.

The Devil Wears Timbs is a well-written story with an author who has the ability to evoke strong emotions and reactions from his reader. Malvo had me wanting to jump into the pages of the story and wring his neck. The desperation, fear, hopelessness and will for survival all rang out as the story unfolded. The story answers some questions while leaving many more unanswered. I’m ready for part two…want to know how this all plays out. Great debut for this author. Wouldn’t be surprised if he becomes a household name among those who enjoy urban literature relatively quickly.
Congrats on a job well done.

I loved this read!!! Eureka and Anton had to deal with one heartbreak after another. I had to give it to Eureka because she stepped up when things for their family started getting rough but not once did she give up. Constance needs some type of help because that chick is crazy. I couldn't believe she thought what she was doing was rational. Malvo was as dirty as they came. I swear he played by his own set of rules and was determined to get anything/anyone he wanted to. Really Giselle? I understood she was in pain behind her loss but Malvo manipulated her in the worse way possible just so he could do as he pleased. Oooh he was wrong for using Eureka and that brought out a serious side of her once realizing she had been used. Fear is that dude!!! You had to respect him, especially when he helped Eureka and Anton. Reka and Ant were faced with one hardship after another but their love for one another kept them strong. Constance had some major issues for her to feel the need to issue threats behind a dude that wasn't even hers. She was on some other ish for real!!! My how she took things completely wrong without knowing the full story! Smh!!! Now on to part 2 because that ending left me with so many questions. Great job Tranay!!!

That ending(side eyes the author)... I'm going to try hard not to leave any spoilers in my review. This story in my opinion had many main characters but each storyline was able to be kept up with and were connected to each other in some type away. It was a good read but I wanted more. With each chapters end I hoped I would get more of each individuals story and just when I thought it was about to happen it ended. The editing was A1 which is rare now days and the author wrote a story that kept my attention from the first page.Congratulations on penning a pager turner but PLEASE don't keep us waiting too long for part 2!

TIMBS....

It seems like Eureka, Fear, and Constance are the devils being that they all wear Timbs. I find that I like Eureka and Fear. Constance is a sad, sad BUT CASE!! I guess she's going to spend her life killing every female that even just talks to Fear because her obsession with him is off the charts!! Eureka is just trying to take care of herself and her brother so she's had to get gangster. Constance is not going to be able to easily take her out. Great read!!

TDWT was my first read by Author Tranay Adams, and I must say, I truly enjoyed it. The storyline captures you from the first page and will have you hooked. There is an art to weaving characters together in a plot and I think Tranay has that down pat. Character descriptions were definitely on point. Looking forward to reading part two to see what happened with these crazy people! Lol.

I like the fact that it was fast pace, but more so it didn't start off that way. It gave the readers the chance to actually learn and know about the characters. It moved fast enough to keep all attention on the book, but slow enough for you to learn about the characters and not neglect them. The only thing was how the main characters linked up, that was a little far fetched to me.

The Devil Wears Timbs was my first read by Tranay. It was an engaging read that was very relatable to real life. I love Eureka & Fear. Malvo was a pig & I'm positive he'll het what's coming to him. Constance is a woman that can't & won't take no for an answer. She's proven that it's her way or no way at all. About to start part 2!

Fantastic

This book was a fantastic read from beginning to end. If you love urban fiction, then this is the book for you. The author captured the true meaning of urban with each turn of the page. It had just enough hood and street to keep me reading. I read this book in one sitting, and will definitely be reading the great of the series. Great job with this one Tranay.

It was ok...It ended dumb to me but I guess that's because most authors write sequels. Not sure if I'll get part 2.
