This book tells the story of Prince Talos, the youngest of three brothers who’d lost their parents in a car crash. Talos was the one who witnessed and was involved in a particularly violent episode with them. He was hurt when he intervened in a fight with his father beating his mother. His father was a philandering, selfish man who married a woman who was chosen for him but unfortunately she fell in love with him. After their deaths his grandmother loved him and soothed him with her violin, but he never recovered emotionally to even tell her he loved her.
Talos was amazing , he had the perfect balance of being alpha and brooding without crossing the jerk line. He was intense, smart and I loved how he helped Amalie overcome her fears and along with her and at the same time got over his own vulnerabilities.
And what Talos Kalliakis wanted, he got. Always. Yes, that was the best line, I ever read!
Amalie Cartwright had shunned the public eye for a long time. She had her reasons for keeping in the shadows, dark fears encompassed her from the past. Amalie was young, traumatized and talented, but it was only natural for her to turn down Prince Talos’s invitation.
Now, let's get on with the story:
Amalie’s phobia and Talos’ painful past are both perfectly depicted. Amalie and Talos don't realise is they're at the start of their very own romantic concerto and an adventure of a life time.
I loved the original storyline, searching for a violinist, the references to orchestras; and the meeting with the grandad and what happens during it was sweet. The story is intricately woven that all the characters play vital roles in bringing this story to a beautiful end. Loved the way Amalie got her dad and mom together again.
There were a few deterrents, as in, why in the world did she have to seduce him to bed? I mean, it would have made it much more intense, if he took her innocence, rather than her seduction, it kinda demeaned her dignity. And she really should have not thrown such tantrums, another minus point there. Got to admit this missed an exciting, emotional, or unexpected event of circumstance which apparently left it without much drama.
Anyway, I liked it enough to want to read about his brothers: "Theseus Discovers His Heir" and "Helios Crowns His Mistress". I'm giving it a 4.5, because it was somewhere in between 'up to par' and exceptional!
This is the first book in a trilogy by Michelle Smart.
Talos is the youngest Prince of Agon and a true Alpha who will do anything to please his Grandfather, in comes Amalie who is the violinist that Talos wants to perform for his grandfather the only problem being is that due to circumstances she does not perform solo and prefers to hide among the other musicians. A well written romance that shows with the right person love can blossom.
Enjoyable tale - I particularly liked the heroine Amalie and the depth of emotion towards the end of the book.
I did find the constant references to Talos being huge etc a little distracting as it made him sound rather ape like, and it was difficult sometimes to see why Amalie would have been attracted to him.
Will be reading the other two books in this series.
The Hero is a bit of an a**hole and bully at the start but thats par for the course with these category romances, so I wasnt too bothered.
I liked how their relationship developed, how they spent a lot of time in each other’s company and had a lot in common. They had good chemistry and resisted it for a good amount of time, which i did appreciate. No abrupt ONS here, despite they not realizing it, they had developed a relationship before they finally went to bed together.
Angst is well done because the heroine suffers from a really bad case of stage fright, so the readers are kept in suspense of how she eventually overcomes this or does she fall apart at the big moment. Up until then, I actually thought she would pass out and the Hero would do the heroic thing and rescue her from the stage… but well no, that didn’t happen 😆
So yes since it’s fiction, she miraculously rose to the occasion and redeemed herself, the Hero and his whole country. So yey heroine 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻

Amalie and Talos were engaging characters, and their love story was so fabulous.
Yes, he was an arrogant guy prepared to blackmail Amalie into performing because he loved his dying grandfather so much. Amalie started off a damaged and repressed young girl woman and her growth and self awareness during the book was so beautifully done.
I loved the way that although a virgin, Amalie was a sensual woman who became a full partner in their love affair. The sex scenes were really well done.
I loved their relationship. There were obstacles and angst but there was also real sensitivity and love.
I like this author and this book is up there with her best - so 5 stars.
This is the first book in this series, but the last one I have read. I couldn't get into the situation of his reasoning for taking her to his country just to play for his grandfather. Her fears were what kept her from being the greatest violin soloist player ever. His methods were what she needed to confront her own past. I have several books by Michelle Smart and love them. This story was hard for me to read. Though in the end I enjoyed it. I will reread it again!
It was good, I liked the writing and the connection between the hero and heroine. I wasn't a huge fan of heroine being a violinist because I can't relate to anything about it and it kind of bored me at times with it being such an integral part of the plot. P.
This was a great story. There are actually more reviews for it here: https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/2... Which is where I left mine. Couldn’t figure out how to merge the 2.
This is the 1st book I read by Michelle Smart 🤓. I liked this book's storyline. I liked the hot 🔥 & steamy scenes. Talos's character was okay. I liked Amalie's character. I liked the ending.
