Wow, what a conclusion to this series! The Love at First Bite Series by Finn is another excellent offering. I have read 26 volumes from Finn over the last year, not one has disappointed. And with each I read I have greater appreciation for Finn’s skill and craft with both short fiction, long fiction and even extended series that contain both. This is the final novel in a series in the last category. The stories in this series are comprised of:

The novels in this series are:

1.0 Honor at Stake
2.0 Demons are Forever
Formerly Murphy's Law of Vampires
3.0 Live and Let Bite
4.0 Good to the Last Drop

The Short Stories are:

01 Blood Stained Cliffs of Dover (Prequel)
02 Bad Date (During the main story arc)
03 Mad Dog Moon (An Epilogue Story)

The description of this volume states:

“The epic conclusion to the Dragon Award nominated series!
The final war begins.

Merle Kraft, Marco Catalano and Amanda Colt have battled against the mythical Council, a supernatural conspiracy that monsters fear. This war has brought them up against vampires, minions, and demons from Hell.. Along the way, they have accumulated allies among the police, the military, the mafia, college students, lowly street gangs, and even other vampires. Marco and Amanda have overcome their biggest terror - their passion for each other.

But now, they face the final threat, one that is the culmination of every threat before them. This creature from Hell has powers beyond anything they’ve ever seen before and has allies of his including SpecOps minions, an army of vampires, and packs of werewolves.

And that was before Marco got bitten.”

I am thankful to see this series back in print. Three Ravens released all four novels in under a week. And they immediately jumped to the top of my reading list. I have read the three published short stories in this series and am truly thankful that the novels are back in print. I have already recommended individual books and the whole series to numerous friends and family.

The fourth and final novel in this series takes place back in New York. takes this series to yet another level. I loved the first three and this one still exceeded expectations! They know they are up against the last of the Council. They have gathered many allies and are preparing to spring a trp. But what if the trap is what the enemy is expecting and prepared for. Can Marco and Amanda survive long enough to explore their professed love? Or will evil and darkness win. Read this epic conclusing to the Love at First Bite Series, to find out!

Before beginning this series it had been a few years since I have really read a story or series that has centred on vampires. I seem to go through a phase about every 10 years where something catches my fancy and draws me in. These stories have completely captivated my attention. I can easily state that these stories are now my all time favorite vampire stories, with the Rollins and Cantrell offerings coming in second.

Declan has crafted another incredibly series in a shared world. I am hooked, I know the series is completed but cannot help but hope we get more stories in this series or in the expanded world that it comprises. I said it before and I say it again I am very glad these novels are back in print. After devouring the four, I can say that I will likely circle back and reread them again at some point in the future. Finn is now my favourite contemporary Christian fiction author. I can easily recommend this book, this series, and honestly anything from Finn’s masterful pen!

Gnarly escapism, with a grounding in realism that is unique (or close to it).
From my Amazon review, which is found here:
https://www.amazon.com/review/R2QAX3J...

I obtained a pre-release copy of this book several months ago from the author, which I promptly lost because I have an incompetent filing system for books not obtained through the Kindle Unlimited program. It is only recently that I found the book in my files; for my tardiness, I offer my abject apologies. However, neither the receipt of this book nor my failure to properly manage my reading has any impact on my reviewing.

Marco and Amanda are two people with supernatural powers who are in love with each other.
They are also both masters in a number of fighting arts, with sticks, blades, firearms, as well as unarmed combat.
What else? I know there was something else...
OH, YEAH! They are both devout Catholics!

That's the super twist, you see. I'm not sure I've encountered the tension so well displayed in my past reading. I loved the character of the Philosophical Strangler in Eric Flit's books, and Nigel Bennett and P N Elrod have a series about the difficulties faced by Sir Lancelot, who was healed of a mortal wound by vampirism, but neither of those really lay out a complete eco-system the way Finn does.

The sexual tension is tremendous. Both are gorgeous examples of humanity, and their admiration for each other is obvious to everyone except themselves from the beginning. As they remain in contact with each other, the depth of their interest grows, but they don't DO anything about it. In conventional literature, or in a movie or television show, they would have gotten into bed with each other immediately. However, both have moral and other practical reasons for not doing so.
First, Amanda is an OLD vampire. She has lived long enough that she knows that if she gets involved with a regular human, they will die, and she will grieve.
Second. Marco is a...something. He doesn't really know WHAT he is, but he knows he is different, and that he turns bloodthirsty when under threat. Because of that, he's very hesitant to get involved.
Those are the practical reasons. The MORAL reasons are founded completely in their Catholic faith, which both of them take seriously, as regular communicants, going to confession, and remaining sexually chaste outside of marriage. Sound old-fashioned? Maybe it is, but it's working for them.

The BIG twist, revealed through the vampire Amanda, is that not all the tropes about vampires are applicable. As it turns out, vampires are like the rest of us: they can choose the path they want their life to take. If they choose to self-indulge, that's where the problems with light, aversion to religious symbols, etc spring from. The more evil they are, the more those things impact them. On the other hand, Amanda rejected the dark side, and strove to remain inside the Church after she was turned, and she can handle crosses, rosaries, silver, and a certain amount of sunlight, without any problems.
And in this book, it all comes to a head, as demonic evil forces renew their efforts to take over the world.
Marco, already having been 'something,' is greatly strengthened, but not turned, by sharing blood with Amanda. And then, he's bitten by a werewolf, and he's GOING to change, but nobody knows what; just that it's going to be big and bad. The red-shirts get cleared away, and those who have been on the fences are forced to take a side.

It's just not common for popular fiction to take the Christian worldview seriously. I am aware there is an entire genre out there called 'Christian fiction,' but that's not been something that I found attractive. I like exploding spaceships. And, to make that happen, you have to make all kinds of assumptions that just don't fit with Christian theology about the End of Days. I'm not arguing against or in favor of that; I'm just trying to describe the way it is, the way I THINK that it is. In my last review of an anthology in the Four Horsemen series, there was a story in which the protagonist was wrestling with the idea of the alien as a being with a soul; THAT'S taking it seriously. And, as I said, it's just not common to find that in popular fiction.
And it might not be commercial, either. I love seeing Denzel Washington act; he made an outstanding post-apocalyptic movie called "The Book of Eli" that went NOWHERE commercially, because the main character was a blind Christian being led on a mission from God to take a Bible across the devastated continent. Great action, great story, great actors: went nowhere.
Maybe that's gonna happen with this book/series as well.
I don't know. I'd hate that. Finn's writing is so good, his characters are so real, his action scenes so (literally) explosive, that I hope his writing affirmatively of a Christian lifestyle isn't a cyanide pill. I hope there are enough people like me, who aren't automatically turn off at the scent of 'religion' as a plot point, that he sells a million copies. Who knows? We all need escape literature.

Jennifer Bosley, President of the New York City Vampires Association, was furious. Back in September, Amanda Colt had been buried in a collapsed hospital wing. People came together and she was dug out within a few hours. But when the VFW exploded with Jennifer inside, she was trapped for two days and those who might have been most helpful did not show up. She was ready to declare war!

This book is even more action-packed than the previous books, filled with humor, romance, magic and creatures to keep the reader’s tension high. Marco and Amanda's relationship, as well as their supernatural abilities, appears to be changing and growing! A threat that is greater than all that have come before presents itself as they must fight the evil they are not sure they can defeat! Make certain to start this series from the beginning (Book 1). It helps you prepare yourself for the escalating suspense in each subsequent book so that you are really ready for this one!

Great ending to a great series. Declan Finn ties up the loose ends. The war between good and evil is escalating, no one is safe. There is a definite line drawn between the forces. If you like vampires, demons and other supernatural creatures , you will love this book and series. Personally, I loved that there were minions. Every evil entity should have some. Full of action, fighting and plenty of explosions. There's a council that all monsters fear. How are they involved? And there's a love story between Marco and Amanda that adds a special touch since love prevails over everything. Who will survive this final battle? Great book with great characters. If you haven't read this series, you need to buy it now. I received this book from Book Sprout for a honest Review

A well written engaging storyline. This is the story about surviving on wits end and facing an evil they have never seen before. Characters are very developed and realistic. The chemistry between the two main characters is hot. The plot flows seamlessly and is filled with action, evil doers, romance and drama.

This is the conclusion (unfortunately) of the series and it all ends with a bang! This series grabbed me tight and didn't let go right to the end and this book is no different. The love story between Anna and Marco is well done and the mayhem is just one wild ride after another - I had a hard time putting this down to attend to mundane things like dinner and sleep!

Satisfying conclusion for series

Always when the good guys win, it's a great end to a series. Vampires, weres, demons and angelic presence make for good reading. Destruction and sadly, death, for a few good guys saddens for a while, but as long as good triumphs and recognition that the dead are where they belong adds to the satisfaction. The end of a series means the author is on to more good things. Please, bring them on.

I enjoyed reading this story. Urban fantasy is a fairly crowded genre but sometimes a story like this stands out with enough differences in it’s mythology to make it very interesting. This book is a great conclusion of this trilogy.

They had done so much already but now is the final battle as the creature of hell is there to fight with allies of his own. They will fight for the very last time. Who will be the winner? Can good overcome evil? See if it can

This book is a fantastic ending to a really good series. The visualizations I got from the writing were extremely good. Amanda and Marco have their conclusion, but what is it going to be? The first three books leading up to this are also very good reading. I will be looking for more from Mr. Finn.

So epic this finale! The hints about demonic vampires and mystic vampires bore fruit - it was not a surprise to me that Amanda was a mystic (however surprising it was to her). What was a surprise was how great her effect was on every one, including the cursed! Wow!

Good to the Last Drop: A Catholic Action Horror Novel (Live and Let Bite)

The title of this book sure details exactly what is going on. I was very impressed with this series. It had it all! Humor, action Romance, Horror, just about everything in there to make it an outstanding series. I loved all of the characters too. Some novels are hard to follow the way the author throws them in the book but this one was very well done and anyone wanting a good series to read will surely find this one totally enjoyable.
As per usual, I really hate to finish a book because I have come to enjoy every part of it and I don’t want it to end.
Read this series! You won’t be disappointed!

I’ve been waiting on pins and needles for this story to come out and let’s just say that I’m a happy girl, this is the 4th book in the series and it’s an absolutely fantastic read. Sorry guys I’m not going to give any spoilers but I will say that I’m amazed that Amanda ( the vampire ) and Marco ( let’s just say that he doesn’t know what he is ) are faithful Catholics and it was really refreshing. A great cast of characters and I enjoyed reading it immensely, all I can really say is thank you Declan for a fantastic series I loved each and every one of them. This has an absolutely fantastic ending I couldn’t of asked for a better one. A fantastic story a 5 plus +++++ ⭐️ read and I highly recommend this book it’s definitely well worth the read.

A Spectacular Ending to a Great Series

Vampires, werewolves, corrupt humans in service to a demon are out to take over the world. An unlikely coalition of humans (plus a few good vampires) and the forces of the Catholic church (including Vatican ninjas) stand against them. The characters make us care about them (one way or another,) the plot is solid and stays within the bounds of the story's world, and the fights are epic.
