These opposites don’t just clash, they collide head on.
After her first husband's tragic death, Alex Blackwood is reluctant to let another man into her life. As mayor of Eden Falls, a business owner, and the mother of six-year-old Charlie, she doesn’t have time to coddle a self-absorbed author, who’s only in town for the summer.
Best-selling author Colton McCreed is in Eden Falls to study small town life for his next murder mystery. As his research draws him into the community, he becomes entwined with the mayor and her cheerful son. Colton’s unhappy childhood left him believing he’s immune to love, but Alex and Charlie have a pull on him he’s never felt before.
Impromptu dinner invitations throw Colton and Alex into a world of discovery, shattering her image of Mr. Right and his belief that love is out of reach.
If you like clean romance, quirky characters, and a quaint town you won’t want to leave, you'll love Finding Eden.

3.5 Stars You never know what you’re in for when you read a new author. Overall I was pleasantly surprised. There was a lot I really liked about this book, and a few things I really didn’t. Alex was a strong, independent woman. She was the mayor of their town, and a business owner. But her most important job was mom to five year old Charlie. As a single mom, she relied on family and friends to help when needed, and provide that much needed male influence in his life. Colton was a best selling author. Living the life of the rich and famous in L.A. Used to having people at his beck and call. He’s come to Eden Falls to do research on small town life for his next book. He’s like a fish out of water staying in his tiny rental. I loved this authors writing style. It quickly sucked me into the story and had a nice flow. The characters were a bit quirky, but lovable. They were well developed and you could almost see yourself wandering around this small town, people watching with a smile on your face. I loved Charlie. He was a very smart and precocious five/almost six year old. He was great in every scene he was in. There were two characters I struggled with. Colton and Misty, one of Alex’s best friends. I’m honestly not sure what anyone saw in Misty. Why these people put up with her, especially her “best friends”. I can’t imagine remaining friends with anyone who was as hateful and nasty as she was. Colton was a conundrum. I really didn’t understand him. On one hand he says he hates kids, refuses to ever get married, has his “women friends” in L.A. when he needs companionship. On the other hand he actively seeks out Alex and Charlie. Misses them when he’s with them, makes excuses to spend more and more time with them. Being in his head was exhausting. The other issue I had was Colton sleeping with other women after meeting Alex. Even though they are not in a relationship, he’s made it clear he’s into her. It just felt wrong. He outwardly seemed to have no morals where women and relationships were concerned. The ending felt really rushed. One minute he’s in L.A., Alex is dating a new man. The next he’s at her flower shop proposing. There was no “couple time”. One minute they are not speaking, the next they are getting married. The “I Love Yous” literally take place on the last page. An epilogue might have helped. It was an easy story to read. A clean romance. No cursing, no sex. A little angsty, lots of internal longing. One big drama to get through. You get both characters points of view.
This was a great story of how a young woman raised her young son she found she was carrying after learning of her husband’s death as a marine. This is my review and mine alone. Norma Gorrill
Finding Eden should not be considered Christian, clean, or even romance. The only thing that makes this book clean is sexy time is not on page. Stop reading now if you do not want to read any SPOILERS!!!!
Just say no and save your money. Okay, in Finding Eden our Hero (he ain't no hero) Colton is a famous author, that's the only thing he has going for him. He's a douche, he's got 3 women he has "benefits" with and hooksup and has a one night stand with the town sl*t that is a b!tech to everyone. And did you guess what happened with that? Yep, a pregnancy but don't worry you'll find out who the real daddy is because you get the storyline for the next book in this book....the town sl*t/b!tch gets her own book. So back to Finding Eden, the Hero is a 15 year old horny boy in a man's body. All he wants to do in have sex with the heroine Alex, the only good thing in this book is that she doesn't sleep with him but she does fall in love with the horny goat. They say the "I love yous" on the last page, the reader never gets to see the hero and heroine in a relationship. The ONLY thing I liked about this book was Charlie, the heroines son.
I borrowed Finding Eden from the Kindle Unlimited Program.
Mayor Alex Blackwood has agreed to meet a famous best selling author, provide him a home and a car for the summer so he can write a book using Eden Falls as his setting. When he lands at the small local landing strip, he expects Alex Blackwood to be a man and instead a young woman is there to greet him. He is rather unfriendly, judgmental and doesn't find out she is the mayor until a couple of days later. Alex is also a single mom to an adorable five-year-old named Charlie after she lost her husband to the war in Iraq before he was born.
The dialogue is fun, Charlie is a wonderful boy full of fun and soon turns the syndical, Colton, that claims to not like children, never wants and doesn't want to marry either into a new person. Add a quirky cast of town characters for a delightful transformation love story that I really enjoyed.
Mostly a HEA but left me hanging. No major spoilers.
The story was actually great, plenty of twists and turns. You fall in love with the characters early on and are cheering for them throughout their development. The ending felt rushed and seriously cut off. Almost like the author had reached a word count limit and just needed to end the book. Unless they get a follow up story later on, I have no inclination to read the series further. Especially considering the next book in the series is for the antagonist of this one.
Wonderful start to what I'm sure will be a great series. The first novel needs to introduce you to what can follow and the author delivers in Spades. I love that Colton comes full circle. Alex is a busy professional that balances her life with the help of family. It takes a village is at the forefront of the novel, and it's still how most small towns are. Everyone knows everyone's business and is willing to lend a hand or give unsolicited advice.
This book I am finding hard to review , I liked that it was a small town , I like the people in the town . However i didn't feel the chemistry between the main H and H , I did not like the fact Colton was with several girls at the same time , plus a pregnancy scare , it put a real damper on the romance . Colton had a better connection to Charlie then Alex even at the end with his confession of the heart . Sorry just not my idea of HEA romance .
I loved this story! With the weather becoming colder and having more time inside, I sometimes get into a funk. This book pulled me out. It was just as advertised....heartwarming. I will definitely be reading the rest of the series and look forward to following the lives of the town folk from Eden Falls.
Charming story with many folks to meet. An idealic landscape is portrayed making you wish you were there. As usual there is a snake in Eden, but she's handled well and gets a happy ending of sorts. There's no graphic sex in this book; of which I'm glad. Passion is a slow burn into love of the main characters, and friends and family. The main man finds his heart.
This is one of the best books I’ve read in a long time. Great story, great characters and a lovely town I wouldn’t mind living in! The author had a well rounded story that was clean and fun to read. It was interesting to watch Alex and Charlie turn McCreed from a grump afraid of life and love into a man I. Love with life.
This was a great book and I will recommend her books to anyone who loves small town romance novels. She keeps you involved from page one until the end.
I like the small town, Alex, Charlie and most of the other characters. Good descriptions too. But I almost put it down because of the loose morals of Colton and Misty. Colton tried to talk Alex into sex, even after she had told him that she didn't do that. And it just seemed like Alex and her other girlfriends would have dropped Misty a long time ago as all she does is badmouth them and hit on the men. Both Colton and Misty had family problems growing up, but it seemed like they just used that as an excuse for bad behavior. I was actually surprised when the story ended. It felt rushed, and to me Colton and Alex really didn't seem to go together. Charlie was so cute,Colton seemed closer to him than to his mother.
I gave up close to the 60% mark. I didn't connect with the writing, since it does that thing where it's not quite time jumps but it's also not grounded in present day. And I hate that. Why do I was to feel like I'm skimming when I'm not even skimming.
I also found everything to be super inconsistent. The characters actions weren't consistent with their thoughts, even the progression of the story didn't feel consistent.
Finally the characters didn't feel fleshed out one bit, everyone felt like caricatures and not like real people.
This is a shame because I really quite enjoyed the novella by the same author, Kissing the Movie Star but there wasn't anything in this for me.
I immediately disliked Colton. But what a dynamic character he proved to be, as he changed so much before the end. I totally enjoyed my time in Eden Falls with everyone and look forward to another book in this series. I ended up loving all the characters, though I secretly feel Charlie is the real hero of this story. I greatly enjoyed this one - and I think you will, too.
Far awhile I was not sure I would like this book. There are a lot of bumps in the road for this couple. One minute I liked the man and then I was totally turned off by him. The lady deserved a better person than he was turning out to be. Are there people out there so self centered? Read to see if it ends the way you expect.
I have just discovered books written by Tina Newcomb and I am delighted. At last, a romance that's well written had a good storyline, the characters are most definitely believable and not filled with page after page of meaningless endless sex. All in all a thoroughly enjoyable read. Now to download the next.
This was a beautifully written romance between the mayor if a small town and a famous mystery writer. He would never get married or be in love. Until he did, but he left for home only to muss her and her and het see son. This wad a great read even if I did need a few tissues.
I like this book but it took me a while. Colton is a writer that comes to town for ideas about his new book. He meets Alex and her son. He is instantly attracted to them.
I liked this story ver much, the hard shelled embittered author Colton whose cynical views on love stemmed from a childhood with every privilege except love. Lexus and her son Char!is crack the shell and change his life. Recommend
Finding Eden (Eden Falls 1)--PG Violence-no Language-no Sex-intimated, but no details Romance, heartache, a villain, a strong female lead, a kid, and a puppy. Hero is an arrogant city dweller when Cupid hits his stone-cold heart dead-on. Loved the journey, adored the heroine.
I Loved how Tina can weave a spell you don't want to break. Taking a hold of your hand as she latches on to your heart. Investing you so deep into the story you don't want it to end! Alex won Coltons heart and showed how it truly feels to be loved!
I stopped reading once the Hero slept with someone else. I absolutely hate that in books. The hero and heroine weren’t together at the time but still a hard no from me.
This entire review has been hidden because of spoilers.
I liked the small town story but the guy was a real jerk and continued to act like one until the very end. He just hated to admit he had actual feelings for someone and was just a pain.
