Netto was a Cyborg, a protector, and a contracted mercenary. His specialty was with the shallows, the salt water, and the open oceans across the universe. He was also a freak forged from the DNA of a bull shark–blue-grey skin, a body built with power, and a double-set of razor sharp teeth. His nomadic lifestyle changes when his old employer, the Earthian Planetary Exploration Division, offers him his old job back.

Rylie was born and raised on the planet Kepler, on an agri-lot that farmed jewels from the sea. But something was happening to her family’s lots and people were going missing.

When a giant Cyborg shows up in her settlement and commissions her family’s watership, she is forced to follow him out onto the water, into the dangers of the alien deep, far beyond the sight of land.

She feared the Cyborg.
She feared his teeth.
But she feared the monsters in the water more.

Book three of Cyborg Shifters, same universe as Stranded in the Stars, every book is a standalone that only subtly builds off of the others.

Book one, Wild Blood (Dommik and Kat)
Book two, Storm Surge (Stryker and Norah)
Book three, Shark Bite (Netto and Rylie)

Shark shifter and water girl!

The following ratings are out of 5:
Narration: 🎙🎙🎙🎙
Romance: 💚🖤💙💜
Heat/Steam: 🔥🔥🔥🔥
Story/Plot: 📕📗📙📘
World building: 🌏🌍🌎🌍🌏
Character development: 😤😥😊🤩

The heroine: Riley - she is a loner who works for her family on the Earthen planet Kepler which is mainly water. Unlike her sister Janet, who sleeps with all the men on the planet, Riley likes to stay close to home and work. Riley doesn’t see her ending up with any man, because she doesn’t want a man who has been with her sister and they all have been.

The Hero: Netto - a Cyborg, he was made from a human, a bull shark and a lot of technology. He works for the government and he is tasked with working out a mystery on the planet Kepler for a family who farms gems from the ocean. The gems are melted down and used to make an impenetrable glass that is used for spaceships, ocean vessels and many other things. The government sent he and his pal Zeph to figure out what is going on in exchange for a good rate on the gems.

The Story: When the two Cyborg shifters come to help discover what is wrong with their crops of Gems, Riley is wary of them but attracted to the big blue man. Several things have been happening on Kepler as of late. First of which is that some people have been disappearing without a trace, also their crops of gems have been cloudy lately. The gems used to be clear, but over time, they have all been cloudy and mostly unusable.

With Netto being created partially from Shark DNA and Zeph from Crocodile DNA, they are the perfect Cyborgs to help on this planet which is mostly water. This was an extremely original storyline and I liked that. In addition to the mystery about what is going on in the water.

The book is told in dual points of view via dual narration. The narrators were Hollie Jackson and Alexander Cendese. I am used to Hollie Jackson as a narrator, since she has done most of the Ice Planet Barbarian’s books and she does a good job, though she is not one of my favorite female narrators, she is good at showing emotion through her speech. Alexander Cendese has a deep sexy voice which worked well for Netto.

I was pleasantly surprised by this book. I love shifter stories but for some reason I struggle with a shark shifter. I really wasn't expecting much and ended up enjoying the book. The writing was good. The characters, plot, world building...all of it enjoyable.

Netto is one of my favorite types of heroes. He's really big. He's dangerous. He rarely talks and despite all that, still had a vulnerable side to him. He wants to claim Riley but held back in fear of hurting her.

Riley was a likeable heroine. She's young and naive but mature and responsible. She's drawn to Netto despite how dangerous he comes off.

Side characters were great. I'm not sure how I feel about the sister. Her promiscuity was a bit much. She does have her own story coming so I may have to see what the author does for her.

My only complaint to the story is that this is a very slow burn. I just personally prefer to see more of the couple together.

Netto is a cyborg and half shark and he is perfect in giving solutions in aquatic environment even in strange planet in deep space. During one of his missions at planet Kepler, he will meet Rylie. Rylie was born and raised at Kepler. She comes from a family of farmers who farm jewels from the sea.

Unfortunately recently lots of farmers have gone missing, their ships are being destroyed and weird huge monsters have been roaming the seas. Netto had been there when the safe enviroment for the farmers had been created many many years ago and the boarders between the peaceful sea and the unknown sea had been set. Combined with the fact that Netto can transform into a shark and swim deeply into the sea without any problems, he is basically the most suitable candidate to discover what is the problem with the sea of this planet.

Although cyborgs are treated like heroes in the farming community and their help is welcome, Rylie is not comfortable with Netto in the beginning. Maybe because she prefers being alone and maybe because he is huge with sharp teeth and maybe because he does not talk much and he looks at her like he wants to eat her. And maybe he wants to eat for real.

I love stories with cyborgs and shifters and this series is awesome, but honestly I was not feeling comfortable when I was reading this story. I am not sure that I like shark shifters -especially when they half shift when they have sex hahaha. My god, those teeth....
Moreover I was very concerned about his size and the damage he could create to poor virgin Rylie. Not a happy thought...

Other than that, it was a very imaginative story and it is also the beginning of the story for Zeph, the half cyborg/half salt water crocodile who is also Netto’s friend and Janet, the slut/man-eater/selfish bitch who is also Rylie's sister.

If you haven’t read Naomi Lucas’ Cyborg Shifter series, I recommend you do so if you love science fiction with a (large) dash of sexy, dangerous, cyborgs with the ability to shift. I’m not a huge fan of shifters in urban fantasy, but I absolutely love these. Each cyborg has a certain thing they were made to replicate, and this one happens to be a shark.

I loved Netto! He’s the strong, silent, and blue type with an extra bite — literally! Both he and his cyborg partner, Zeph, are on a mission to collect, but they run into something more at their destination. And here, he meets Rylie. Netto is uncomfortable around people. They fear him due to his intimidating size and his sharp teeth. He has no experience with women (yes, our sexy shark man is a virgin!), but he deeply wants to be loved. Wants a family. But he doesn’t believe it’s something that will ever happen for him.

Rylie suffers from some issues of her own. She’s not a people person and is very anxious around them, yet despite her fear, she is drawn to the giant blue cyborg who has agreed to help her family and their business. There in an instantaneous attraction between the two of them, but there is also a rift of her own insecurities as well as the distance Netto resurrects due to his own fears. In the end, Rylie decides to take what she wants. What does she have to lose?

And then we have the side characters, Zeph and Rylie’s sister, Janet. Zeph is the sweet talker. The ladies man, and he has his sights set on Janet. However, while may flirt and give him her body, she’s not looking to settle. She likes men and leaves a very long trail of them behind her. And well...I’ll let you read to find out what happens with them!

I was hooked from the beginning. I loved the closeness Rylie has with her family, the shy encounters she has with Netto, and most especially…the pillow scene. Seriously, that has to be the best part in this whole book. There is some wonderful world building in every book and I can’t wait for the next!

For me, this was nowhere near as good as Ashes and Metal, Number 5 in the series, (despite that one having a major dealbreaker in it).
The hero was actually a sweetie, even though he was part shark, and the planet on which this story takes place was interesting enough. There just didn't seem to be much forward movement in the plot, and frankly, the heroine's sister was a major skanky piece of work, so her story (coming as Number 6) is not on my radar at all. The heroine was just a bit meh, too- how she put up with her sister's antics was beyond me.
I haven't read the first two, and I think they might be interesting simply in terms of watching how the writer develops and improves her craft. (There were typos and the occasional wrong preposition or wrong word here that I didn't pick up happening in Ashes and Metal.)

I just got a bit bored with it, tbh.

Will try a couple more by this author (lots of potential) and hope for better!

Netto is a cyborg that shifts into a shark. He and his partner, Zeph, are sent to a water covered planet to investigate some strange things. There have been a string of disappearances and there is something affecting a crop of special pearl type stones that the planet produces. Netto meets Rylie, a socially awkward girl that is one of the heirs of the "farm" where they are investigating. Netto is quiet and cold and Rylie's shy awkwardness appeals to him. During the investigation, they encounter some large monsters, and Rylie familiarizes herself with Netto's large monster.

These Cyborg shifter books are a little strange. I think I liked this story the best so far in the series, as it had a mystery that they were trying to solve and there was lots of monster killing action intermingled with decent smut.

This is one hot cyborg!
I have a weak spot for big guys, and Netto is huge. Everywhere. I also found endearing his inexperience with women and slight insecurities about his appearance. They showed a human side of the machine.
This was the first book I read in the series, and I didn't feel like anything was missing from the story. I would advise to read other books if you want to learn more about the world created by the author. But if you're like me and tend to read books out of order in the series, it's fine too, as it can totally be read as standalone.
Oh, and I challenge anyone to find a hotter scene with a guy and a pillow, or any bedding, out there! I still have the mental picture of the feathers floating from his teeth to the ground whenever I think about it. :)

Ughhhhhh, when I went into this one I didn’t realize it would end on a cliffhanger and had I known that, I probably wouldn’t have read it as I’m not sure I want to continue the series.

The plot, writing style and MCs weren’t bad. I like cyborgs. I like shy, socially awkward heroines. And I liked the premise of the story—cyborg investigating why the sea farming of a precious resource is failing. It wasn’t thrilling, but it was interesting. And there was even a sea monster fight. What stopped me from really enjoying the story was the sleazy secondary character of the heroines sister—a walking std trap who apparently has slimed around with every man in her vicinity, leaving none for her sister. She was soulless, sociopathic and open about using men to manipulate them for her own benefit. In other words, a total scumrat. And she took up way too much of the story. I want to read about the heroine and the hero, see their relationship develop and watch their emotions grow and connect and bond—I DONT want to read about the heroines sleazy skanky sister and her sociopathic exploits. I was seriously hoping she would get tossed off the boat and get eaten by a sea monster, although that may be too cruel to the sea monster.

Sadly there was very little emotional growth or development between the hero and heroine. They were initially shy and reserved with one another and beyond that, an inexplicable attraction, but where did their love and emotional connection come from? It’s never shown. It’s barely even mentioned that they have feelings for one another and I certainly didn’t feel any moments of swoon. Their entire romance was dry and mechanical.

That, and the abrupt ending just kinda let me feel as if this one was a waste of time. However I did LOOOOVE that both MCs were virgins and so I’m giving it 3 stars for that alone. Although I would’ve liked to see more of the hero’s pov during their first time and it was more focused on the heroine.

Safe. Dual virgins. No others, no cheating or sharing or abuse. Abrupt ending with unsatisfying ending, no HEA and no babies.

Timing is everything

This series has become my new addiction! Each book is more interesting and intense than the one before. I love all of the characters and the way the ladies in their lives breathe life into their cyborgs. This couple in particular was a pair that I found myself falling in love with. They both had an innocence about them that made it impossible for me not to be in their corner, and the action and danger they had to overcome made this book an amazing story. I can’t wait to read the next book in the series and I can only hope that the author intends to write many more books.

It’s something different.. a cyborg shifter Hero who can shift into a shark (I don’t know how that works with all the metal parts. They are on an alien planet where the heroine grew up in. It was attraction at first sight but took time to build up the romance.

What I liked:
- H/h are both virgins and pretty unsure how to proceed at the start of their relationship :)

What I did not like:
- H is long lived. Dunno if he is immortal but heroine is human. I’m not sure how the story can reconcile the lifespans between the H/h. I don’t recall this being discussed in the first 2 books too.

I am enjoying reading each book in this delicious Cyborg Series!
Netto is a Cyborg Shark shifter. He and his friend are called to a human inhabited planet. The humans are having trouble with their water/ocean crops.
They are staying with a family who have three daughters. Riley is a sweet and shy, while her sister is considered a siren!
Netto and Riley are attracted to each and they share something in common!
I so enjoyed this sroty. It had drama, suspense, mystery, romance and a lot of sizzling love scenes.
I am now reading the next book in this series.

um.....this book was disappointing to say the least. both MCs left a lot to be desired. they avoided each other for most of the book but then BOOM they magically fell in love..... to top it all off Janet and Zeph as a potential couple left a really bad taste in my mouth. I liked Zeph and couldn't wait to read his story but now I'm not so sure. in short, I hate Janet. I won't recommend this book, it could've been much better....

The more of this series I read, the more I enjoy it. No one writes a creepy monster love story like Ms. Lucas does. And no one writes non-conventional heroines quite like her either. Lucas does not go out of her way to lay their Otherness on thick to the point that it's caricature: it's subtle and well-executed. I never feel seen in the romance genres, but her heroines come the closest. Representation, yeah? ♥︎

Netto and Rylie are the most adorable pair of awkward anti-social misfits. Rylie has never been interested in the opposite sex, to the point that her family assumes she's asexual—been there, done that, have the tee shirt—and blame themselves for how poorly she was socialized. They love her, but they do not fully accept her as she is. And Rylie is painfully aware of the fact. She would rather be out on the ocean and working than talking to anyone who isn't her immediate family. Netto is the largest of his cyborg brethren and considered quite handsome...until he opens his mouth and flashes his teeth. Everyone runs. He's never made it past considering flirting, let alone anything else with a woman. He's accepted that's the way things are going to be for him, and he's content to be alone. Socializing is painful and requires too much talking anyway. Netto is the muscle when he works, not the networker. So when these two start circling each other, it is believably awkward, precious, and there are so many funny moments where one or the other has zero clue how to act and does something gauche. The pillow scene? I was snickering so hard, but damn... if I didn't have to fan myself during it too. This might be my favorite comedic moment in a romance. So kudos to Ms. Lucas for making a nightmare monster who wants to bite and taste blood a precious awkward mess who can also melt my heart. And this was one of the better dual-virgin stories I've seen. I tend to shy away from them, but this one had enough realistic, cringey, uncomfortable "what the hell do I do now?!" going on to drive away the usual eye rolls I get from Blanche Devereaux-esque first time encounters.

The first book I read from this universe was Chaos Croc, Janet and Zeph's story, so I do not have the same strong negative emotions towards Janet that many others have expressed in their reviews. Though even if I hadn't, I didn't think she was a bad character and rather enjoyed her as a foil to her older sister Rylie. Many romance authors utilize a flatter version of the "slutty" sister, but Janet has quite a bit of dimension to her even in this book where she's a secondary character. She obviously loves her family, will fight for the family business, and she has her own way of getting things done—and GASP, she enjoys it. She does make a few half-hearted attempts at making passes at Netto, but it's not a big deal and nothing comes of it—which in and of itself is pretty interesting for a genre that likes to punish and humiliate sisters who act this way. It was refreshing to see it shrugged off and not made a Thing when it didn't need to be for the sake of drama. Rylie has plenty of angst when it comes to Janet already without that unnecessary dimension added. I know Rylie's refusal to be with anyone who had been with Janet first was likely read as being disgusted by anyone who would have sex with Janet, but I read it more as Rylie never wants to be compared to Janet by someone she wants to be with. She gets enough of that in her life already. This little tangent aside, Janet and Zeph make a fun pair of secondary character foils to the mains. Where Netto and Rylie are anti-social misfits, Janet and Zeph are both cut-throat sophisticated Players. Watching their aggressive game of cat and mouse in the background of Netto and Rylie's much more gentle fumbled dance of first-timers added a nice interesting element.

So yeah, I gotta give some puffy heart love to this story.

I liked Kylie and Netto. They were perfectly suited for each other. Both were socially awkward, blunt yet shy, isolationists, and quiet.

The whole masturbation scene was weird. He wanted her to unknowingly sleep in his dry semen and he chewed on her pillow. Lol... And... Kylie, the virgin who had never been kissed, just walked in on him and accepted it.. umm.. no.. Then Netto made out with her and and afterwards, said nasty things to drive her away because of his insecurities. Jerk. She wasn't necessarily a doormat but I don't like it when women pine and give in easily to a man who behaved badly and cold and then initiate sex with the him. I get he was not experienced and didn't trust himself but she pretty much threw herself at him and begged for sex. For awhile, she just made out with a statue. Meh.. I started to lose a little interest at about 65-75% in, but it was still ok. The shark head during sex... Literally eating her underwear? Weeeeeiiiiirrrd. lol

I liked Kylie's dad. Janet and Zeph were complete opposites of the mc's so it brought a good balance. Both were outgoing and very flirty to the opposite sex. They came off as haughty and slutty. Janet told Kylie on more than one occasion she was thinking of screwing both of cyborgs even though she knew Netto wanted Kylie... No shame. I mostly disliked both characters. Sometimes they were entertaining but a lot of the time, they just came across as childish, self centered, jerks. When they had extremely loud sex on the ship where Janet's father and everyone else could hear, it was not cool. I know they have a book coming up so I'm assuming that Janet and Zeth get together. I hope (crosses fingers) there will be more depth than the shallowness we were shown here.

Because of this book, I have another weird search in my google history: how do sharks have sex.. lmao. Overall, I liked the mc's and story. Moving on to the next book.

3.5 stars. Unfortunately I didn't enjoy this one as much as the previous books, and it was all because of the side characters Janet and Zepf. The main characters I really liked. Rylie with her shyness and social anxiety, and Netto with his insecurities. They were perfect for each other. Rylie was a 28 year old virgin all because of the younger sister Janet. Anytime Rylie had interest in a man Janet stole them and slept with them first. I'll just come out and say it. Janet was a slut. Trying to make wagers with Rylie on which cyborg she could bed first. Constantly throwing herself at them. Netto was appalled by her of course though. She was promiscuous and trashy to be honest, and to know her and Zepf get their own book is kind of disappointing, but considering this ends on a cliffy we won't see for a couple of books I'll have to read it as it seems they've unintentionally taken someone they weren't suppose to when they stole away during the night when everyone was sleeping. Other than those two jackasses it was good. Not sweet though. The Cyborgs are shifters and they're sometimes taken over by their primal needs as they also have animal DNA in them or in this case multiple types of shark DNA. I really liked Netto who was also a virgin except for those feisty sex bots. 🥴 Most human women were afraid of Netto. I have to applaud Naomi Lucas because there's always something happening and she comes up with some good plots. Netto and Zepf were called to the planet Kepler as there was something fishy happening there. They were lured there by promises that turned out to be lies, but the cyborgs ended up saving everyone. Overall really good series.

I like the smut.. but I just can't wrap my mind around these cyborg romances.

Shark Bite is the third installment of the Cyborg Shifters series. Each book gets a little bit weirder once you find out what these guys shift into. This book follows the slow blooming romance between Netto and Rylie. Netto is a cyborg who can shift into a shark and Rylie is a human who happens to fall in love with him. These two were simply adorable. Both were virgins and had no idea on how to talk to people or what a relationship really was. I loved them.

Besides these two, we meet Janet and Zeph. Janet is Rylie's sister but she's also claimed as a "siren". Then there's Zeph who is a cyborg just like Netto, but instead of a shark - he's a crocodile. First, I would love to meet the person who made them into a cyborg.. because how the hell do you go from spider, snake, shark, crocodile? Did this scientist or whatever just spin the animal wheel and then figured out how to make them transform into that specific species? I have so many questions on that.

After reading this book I will admit that it was a bit boring and predictable. Of course I knew that these two would end up together. I also knew that Zeph and Janet would sort of become a thing. I'm not really surprised by the cliffhanger either but I also know that I will probably, most likely, dive into the next book. Just to see how this series is going to end. I mean, I have like .. what .. two more books left? Let's do this thang!

I read this as part of the Cyborg Shifters box set. This was book 3. I loved the mystery in this story. Netto and his partner and fellow cyborg monster hunter, Zeph are hired by a colonist, Quintan Montihan on the planet Kepler to find out what's wrong with the ocean. People and boats are disappearing. A product that the planet derives its income from, crystal nuggets are becoming tainted and ruined. The nuggets grow in the ocean much like pearls in oysters. Netto, Zeph, Quintan, and two of his daughters go out on a boat to inspect the beds in the shallows to see what they can find. Netto senses something ominous and huge lurking in the deep. Could it be what's causing the disappearances and the fouling of the nugget mollusks?
Netto is a shark and Zeph is a salt water crocodile. While solving the mysteries of the deep there is much hanky panky on the dad's boat. It's a good sized boat. If you like a good amount of sci-fi and story with your erotica you'll find it in this series.

I don't quite know how to review this. It would be a lie to say I'm reading these books only for the plot, so when the MCs don't even have sex until 75% through the book, it's a little bit unsatisfying.

That sex ended up being kinda freaky monster smut involving a half-shifted shark cyborg with a humongous d*ck. I was surprisingly okay with that, but like, you don't just drop that one time out of the blue! It's all or nothing with that kinda thing!

I really liked this story! Shark Bite is book 3 of the Cyborg Shifters series and it has been my favorite so far. This book is about Netto, a cyborg shark shifter and Riley a woman who lives on planet Kepler. There is also quite a bit to do with a dual storyline with Riley's little sister, Janet, and fellow Cyborg, a crocodile shifter named Zeph. This book is told in 3rd person.
As I have mentioned in my reviews of the prior two books, there are errors and editing misses. All that aside, these books are so much fun to read. There is so much creativity and imagination and each book has been different from the one before. The world building in this book is good too. All of the sea creatures were also really cool.
I recommend this book as well as the two previous books in the series. I look forward to reading the next books.

2 socially impaired individuals find love

These books have been improving one by one. This one was far more well fleshed out than the previous 2. I was a bit annoyed with some of the slut-shaming-like comments, but I’m hopeful that attitude won’t follow the new FMC into her book.
Netto was quite the grump, and Rylie was not much better, but their antisocial ways seemed to work with each other.

Slow Burn

Stored started out well, but this book was just a little too slow of a burn for me. Not to mention there really wasn't that great of descriptions. Usually, with the authors word, I can make a mental image. This wasn't the case for this book. Managed to finish the book, but barely.
