Not for me.
This was a book that I read years ago and never rated/reviewed so I decided to read it again so I could log it correctly. Regret.
I have no problem with high school student/teacher romances but this one didn’t work for me.
Darcy was pretty awful. She even calls herself selfish and a b**ch and she’s right. She is. Then she gets all hurt and almost cries when her mom points out she doesn’t have any friends when when she just spent paragraphs complaining about a girl who is nice yo her and tries yo be her friend.
She acts like she’s thirteen not eighteen which doesn’t really work when I’m supposed to believe that she is mature enough to catch the interest of someone older than her. She’s obnoxious.
Besides the heroine problem the the side characters were annoying and not a single person (including her parents) had a problem with him being her teacher. What am I here for? Glad I finally rated it so I won’t make the mistake of Rereading it again.

This was an enjoyable. I was supposed to start this book in November, but had to postpone it. I am glad I read this book. It is a student-teacher relationship story, and I thought it was pretty good. Darcy and Lennon were interesting characters to read and I thought that they have great chemistry. It was a slow burn romance as Lennon was trying to keep his distance, but did not have the strength to do so. It was cute and a bit predictable. I can’t wait to see how book 2 turns out. Overall, a great read.

What's a person to do when they have an immediate attraction to someone only to find out they shouldn't be seeing them? Loved the humor in this story along with the romance as well as the interactions between Lennon and Darcy. I voluntarily read an ARC in exchange for an honest review.

June 26, 2018DNF - Nah. Very by the numbers teacher student romance and the characters lack depth. Plus the girl is hella judgmental and not nearly as mature as the book thinks she is. She has the "I'm so different than the other girls" game down, which is lame as hell.
I'm very familiar to this sub-genre and this addition to it left me cold.

This is a very well written story about two persons who have issues with their surroundings and family. I just love Lennon and his character. He is so romantic and suits Darcy the free spirit so well. They can learn a lot from each other.
They meet at a wedding and hooks up. Turns out that he is her new teacher. Darcy has just moved because of an incident in her old school.
I like the chemistry and passion between the two. They have to give up on their prejudice and not think of what their friends and family will say. They have to be themselves. Both characters develop a lot in this short story.
There are lots of romance, chemistry, drama and passion in this story and it is so well written that you often feel you are right there with the characters.
The supporting characters gives the story the edge that it needed especially Darcys mother. I loved her reaction in the end.
A fun quick read that has steamy hot scenes and aspects that are relevant.
I can only recommend this book.

This book had all the feels and put me through the wringer. Amanda Heartly took my heart at the beginning and smashed it then she pieced it back together.
Darcy is a 18yr old High School Student who had crappy luck in relationships. The boy she fell in love with was a married man with a baby and one on the way but she didn't know that.
Lennon is a 25yr old 1st yr teacher who went through a awful break up with his girlfriend of 8yrs who had been cheating on him.
Lennon and Darcy meet in a chance encounter and after that they can't quit thinking about each other or pushing the boundaries of the moral standards set by teacher/student relationships.
Wonderful book that had be sad at the beginning and happy at the end and wanting more. Hope there is a second book or a series because just the little relationship between Darcy and Lennon wasn't enough I want more.

What a fabulous story this turns out to be. Yes, it is a bit taboo for some but is written so beautifully that it doesn't matter. The book is well written and has an exceptional flow to it. Loved the characters Darcy and Lennon because they were so well balanced and have such great chemistry with each other. Lennon is a not your typical alpha male but has a slightly softer side that blends well with this story. Darcy has a strong personality that stands out in the story. The story will need you so involved you won't want to put it down until you get to the end. This is definitely worth reading and have you glued to your reader because you just have to find out what happens. I voluntarily review an advanced reader copy of the book.

This was a good book from start to finish. Darcy is an 18 year old high school student who has just moved away from her home town of Chicago to get away from being bullied. Lennon is a 25 year old college graduate who is going to be teaching English at a local school. They meet each other at the wedding of Gary and Casey. Gary is Lennon's best friend and Casey is Darcy's cousin. They go on a small adventure during the wedding and then Darcy slips away before he can see her again that night. What will happen next? I can tell you that Lennon will be Darcy's teacher and it's forbidden for a teacher to have any type of relationship with their students. How will this affect Darcy with what she just went through or Lennon's career? I'm not going to give you any details but I do suggest that you pick the book up. I voluntarily reviewed an Advanced Readers Copy of this book. And I enjoyed it immensely. It's heartwarming, humorous and sizzling hot.
The plot is well written and got some fabulous twists that will make you root for a beautiful HEA all the way through.
Hooking up at a wedding Lennon and Darcy spend an enthralling evening together. When Lennon start his new job as a highschool english teacher he's suprised when he finds Darcy sitting in his class. Is being insta-atracted to eachother enough to risk Lennon losing his job?
The beginning of the story is heart-breaking and made me scream in anger and cry of sadness. I love that the heroine is young, strong, tough, intelligent, stubborn and a little immature.

I really enjoyed this book! It's about two people who meet at a wedding- Darcy and Lennon. Darcy is the bride's cousin while Lennon is best friends with the groom. Both people have their own personal drama to deal with. Lennon is trying to get over his ex and Darcy is trying to move on from a scandal involving a married man from her past. This resulted in her and her family moving to a new city. Lennon and Darcy are both attracted to each other. However, neither one knows he is about to become her new teacher. Just love these forbidden romances! I also enjoyed the relationship between Lennon and his buddies. Will they get their happy ending or will everything fall apart??? Read it to find out!!!! Received an ARC for my honest opinion.

I enjoyed Lennon and Darcy's story very much. They were so sweet. I liked how Darcy was willing to change schools to be with Lennon and how they got their HEA. The prologue really ticked me off how Darcy got blamed for everything. It's really not fair that the woman always gets blamed for an affair when she doesn't even know the guy is married. How about assigning blame where it belongs...on the one who actually cheated! (Not that that changed my opinion on the book, just irritates me in general). Overall, I would definitely recommend this book.

This teacher-student taboo tale of Lennon and Darcy was fast-paced and took place over a short period of time. Darcy is a mature 18 year old who has a thing for older men. Lennon has just got out of a bad relationship, and is about to start his first teaching job when he meets a Darcy at a wedding, and their insane attraction begins. Can they be together? Will they get caught? What will her parents do if they find out? Not too much drama, just a teacher with the right idea of conscience surrounded by people without those same pesky qualms. A good little read.

I totally loved this book. Darcy and Lennon are what some people call the forbidden fruit. They have to hide their relationship even though both are legal age...it's just that whole teacher - student thing. In the end it all worked out. She was a new author for me and I can guarantee that I'll be reading more of her work in the future. She gives us a story that happens more nowadays then back then. She makes us laugh, shake our heads, yell and get angry. Overall though it's a well written book and I happily give it a 5 star review.

I really enjoy Amanda Heartley's writing style. She packs in plenty of kindle-melting steamy attraction, generous doses of humor, and emotional development that runs so deep you'll swear you know these people in real life. Darcy and Lennon have a love that rivals the classics, but their current situation as student and teacher complicates the matter quite a bit. How they work through this and find their happiness is beautifully done, with perfect timing and a plot that moves right along keeping the reader glued to the story the entire time. Started out unsure, young girl flirting with older, groomsmen at family wedding. Yet, there was something of a connection between the two, despite the age differences. Join in and read about how two unlikely people, against the odds find a way to make it work. Beautiful love story. Well there is nothing more forbidden than a teacher student romance but when you have a sexy teacher you can’t help but want more especially when your young and unaware of The Who the other person is. Lennon and Dacey meet at a friend’s wedding over Christmas break so imagine Dacey’s suprise when she starts a new school that Lennon is her teacher. Such a fun read especially when secrets need to be kept.

Another amazing read from Amanda Heartley. I really loved this book. I'm not a big fan of student/teacher books because most of them are the same, but I really enjoyed this. Definitely a hot read! Couldn't blame Lennon for his back and forth when it was his job on the line. I was proud of Darcy for not letting her past slow her down. Would have loved to find out if they made it past her graduation.

Two heartbroken souls have instant chemistry and attraction, that's a good thing – right? What if one is a 25 year old teacher and the other is his 18 year old student. Taboo and terrific. This one will steam up your kindle. Well written with strong characters and an entertaining storyline. I really enjoyed this book. I received an advance reader copy and voluntarily chose to review it.
