He’s no Prince Charming.

Adele Grayson’s life is no fairy tale. Introverted and managing crippling anxiety, living in San Francisco is hard enough. The last thing she needs is to have her day ruined by a freak rainstorm that sends her running for cover…and straight into the arms of a hard-bodied stranger who rings all her warning bells. Adele knows he’s dangerous, but she can’t help wondering…if he’s so bad, why does he feel so good?

Once the Queen’s deadly Huntsman, Bron Douglas is now exiled from the Fae Realm and beginning to doubt he’ll ever return…especially now that an otherworldly assassin has followed him to the mortal world. When an enigmatic beauty crashes into his life, Bron isn’t sure if she’s simply another tempting distraction or the key to breaking the curse that binds him.

But when Adele unwittingly snatches the source of the assassin’s immortality, the killer trains his sights on them both. Suddenly, the pair are faced with a difficult choice—give into fear and run for their lives, or fight back and claim their own Happily Ever After.

Such refreshing stories that are written outstandingly.

I always end up reading these books way too fast because they're that easy and fun to read and then I hate myself because I want the story to last.

I say this with every book I read of this author, I only wish they were longer!

WOW! I totally loved this read! In this 2nd installment of the Exiles of the Realm, we again have a modern twist of the fairytale story of Snow White and the Huntsman, except we know that the Queen is no way Snow White, Lol. In this story we have the Huntsman, Bron Douglas and sweet but anxiety ridden Adele Grayson. Adele literally almost falls for Bron, but he catches her before the inadvertent body hitting the floor. From this moment on the story takes off and does not stop. Bron is being Hunted, instead of being the Hunter, by a redcap; an almost immortal goblin. A fight ensues and Adele is frozen at first, but then she jumps into action and is able to remove a special chain from the redcap. Now the redcap sets his sights on her, since she is a mere mortal and should not have been able to remove it, without her burning up.

In the course of this story, we realize that Adele is stronger than she gives herself credit for and that Bron is capable of deep abiding feelings for another. I truly enjoyed this read and the surprise effect of Silver, the Phoenix. Suffice to say that Adele is the true heroine of this story and Bron falls hard for his lady. We are still imbued with the rest of the Exiles and Hook makes his charming appearance as well. I totally love the banter between Emily and Fenrir and I am eagerly anticiapting their story. 4.5 stars!!!!

I loved this book and this series. It follows five Exiles from the Fae Realm who need to fall in love in order to get back. Each book follows a different exile and this book is on The Hunter Bron Douglas. The female protagonist Adele literally falls into his arms and their relationship starts out of necessity but progresses into much more. I loved the progression of their relation because it isn't just their relationship but the growth within themselves. I loved Adele because she was a completely relatable character who had real world problems and said things that I feel like any real person would say. She was also not a cliche timid girl, but strong and caring for the people around her. And the book checked in with the other characters in the series without being over bearing to where you felt like you were reading multiple stories. It was a quick charming read that I would definitely recommend, and the series, and any book by Adrienne Bell to everyone.

There's just something about this series. It's so unexpected for me. I've read the author's other works and loved them! But I wasn't sure what to think with the departure to fantasy. And I feel like a dope for ever hesitating. Although, on the upside I've gotten to smash through all three books available without having to wait as I'm sure some have!

As a person who manages anxiety I particularly enjoyed the portrayal of the heroine here. It just really resonated with me in a way that was both familiar and inspiring. Of course the hero is very impressive too, and as with all of this author's works, adventure and heat are beautifully captured.

I absolutely cannot wait to read more in this series as it becomes available, and I really need to just learn to trust exceptional authors such as this one hahahha!

Finished the new edition to the Exiles of the Realm this weekend. I couldn't put it down! It was a fast, funny, fabulous ride. I really enjoyed the development of the characters throughout this one. I agree with another reviewer, wasn't sure what to expect with Bron but he turned into the hero Adele needed by the last page.

Really thought the clever use of a phoenix in a female form with so much power was a nice treat. Adrienne Bell does a great job with the mix of believable and just this side of unbelievable to reel in the reader. And I always love the byplay between the hero/heroine.

Thanks for another great read and looking forward to Jinn! I was given an Advance Reader Copy of this book by the publisher for the purpose of a honest review

Urban fantasy

No plot spoilers
No potential triggers
There are a couple of grammatical errors but not enough to kill the book.
The characterisation is okay, enough to draw you into the storyline and keep you there.
There are a couple of sex scenes and a little swearing.
To obtain the best read it's better to start at the very beginning with the Macmillan security series and then onto this series with Hook.
There is just the right balance between show and tell, it's a good storyline, I will be purchasing the next book in this series. I really want to read Fenrir's story but I expect that will be the last one told.

This is the second book of the Exiles of the Realm series and I'm completely hooked! (no pun intended lol)

If you enjoy a bit of fantasy/fairytale in your life, this series is for you! It's the perfect combo of fantasy, romance, adventure and humour!

Bron is the perfect sexy alpha male (but with manners! Refreshing!) and Adele was smart and courageous.... I just loved them together!

No spoilers in this review, but I loved how Bron researched falling in love... Hilarious!

Bron and Adele

This second book in the Realm series was fantastic! I didn't think Adrienne Bell could have a better series than the Sinner Saints series, but this Realm series is proving to be just as good.

Can't wait for Jinn's story.

I highly recommend that you read the books in order. Start with Bowie, Sinner Saints before starting the Realm series.

Bron knows how to track, how to snare, the perfect killer.

Adele knows how to panic, how to shut down, the perfect prey.

What happens when the Hunter…becomes the hunted? When prey…becomes predator?

Prey can be quite resourceful. And a Hunter…well, he's never fought for his heart.

Sexy reading,
Marsha

P.S. I'm waiting for you, Big Bad Wolf.

Another great story in the Exiles of the Realm series. This was just as good as the first. Love what this author has done with the fairy tale characters who have been sent as punishment to Earth. Again, this story stands on its own without tons of sex needed, though there is a bit. I'm dying to get more of this series!

So far, Bron is my least favourite, but he's still pretty darn sweet. Where James is suave and Fenrir kind of dense, but funny, Bron is honest, brave, and in his own way, caring.

Adele sees past his bluntness, and while she initially leans on him, she becomes strong in her own right, protecting him and the Phoenix.

The Phoenix, Silver, is my favourite part of this book. This powerful magical creature seems vulnerable with Adele looking after her, but they seem to draw on each other, and it's lovely.

I'm hoping for more of the group in the next book, I missed Mercy and James, and the rest of the guys. It was fun to have Fenrir and Emily in this one, squabbling, yet helpful, to Bron and Adele.

Enjoying this series, can't wait for the next book, with Shay.
