After Effects

Rate this book
After Effects is a collection of twenty-eight short stories that dig into the downfall of a person, community, or society as a whole; and what the after effects of that ruin entail.

Some are humorous, some are touching, but all make us pause and reflect.

I received a MOBI.file copy of this book from the publisher through a giveaway they had on LibraryThing, and the following is my honest opinion.

It goes without saying if we remember what we got taught in school, that every action has a reaction regardless of what the result might be. As an author who has written Flash Fiction of five sentences and Christian short stories and essays of no more than five pages, I can appreciate the effort it could for the contributors of this book to write their items.

The vivid descriptive vignettes from the contributor’s life experiences evoke a broad spectrum of emotions from the book’s readers, ranging from being amusing to having the strings of their hearts getting pulled. And regardless of what emotions readers might get, one thing is sure, the reading of this book will cause them to stop and contemplate over what they’ve read, especially if they’ve been the recipients of similar occurrences.

For having brought together the stories of 27 authors in the manner, they have to give readers a reflective reading experience, I’ve given this book 5 STARS.
