Protection of Five is the 3rd part in the Reverse Harem Divinity Saga Serial. It's a wonderful installment! So much tension crammed into so few pages. Quinn's life is in jeopardy, Meg feels that she is to blame. Plus, if the guys find out her new secret they may want her gone for good. There's lots of information packed in with plenty of action. We get answers about Meg; Divine or Tainted? Either way she is in danger from the Council. There is a helpful new character with growling escorts! We get to know a secret about Brock and the guys seem to be getting more attached to Meg. There's definitely a connection developing between Meg and the guys. Looking forward to the next installment, but I hope that the solution for Meg's safety is very brief. I need more guy time!!

Okay, yep. Same issues as the first two episodes in this serial. But, as before, the compelling and interesting (and different!) story keeps me reading, despite the problems.

Again, there are strange leaps in the writing, jumping from one thing to the next with odd transitions, as well as inconsistencies from earlier episodes (one of the huge problems with the serial format IMO). For example... Suddenly Archer using his magic doesn't cause her pain when he clears the bushes? Uh...

And the 'just this side of purple' and awkward prose caused issues for me while reading. Seriously...tangerine and magenta eyes? Just call them orange and pink! Well, I suppose magenta is valid, as it is not quite just pink, but I can think of little call to use tangerine instead of orange. I don't visualize a difference, so it just sounds...purple. ;) (I won't even go into a world with people having eyes those colors...)

Another example of language issues - one of my biggest grammar/typo pet peeves ever: dominate/dominant. There is no such thing as "The beast side is dominate..." It is a VERB dammit!

But at least the typo editing/proofreading was solid. It was a clean read from that perspective (should be at the length!).

All in all, I desperately wish this was written all together as a full novel so the plot/pacing/structural could be fixed. The story itself and the potential of the characters are well worth that and it could make a great novel. But as it stands...disappointing.

Twists

There were some great twists in this installment! I really enjoyed it and am looking forward to the next part! Five glittery stars!
***Please be aware this is a serial and therefore is not a book. This is a part of an ongoing story and not meant to be read alone.***

This is the 3rd installment of a paranormal reverse harem serial (each installment so far has had three chapters each). Part 3 continues immediately following where the previous ended, with a little more story progression and a few new characters. I do like a slow burn story/slow burn relationship (very much, actually) but I found some of the information to be a re-statement of things that were already mentioned in parts 1 & 2. Readers with a good memory (or if the parts are combined for a later omnibus edition) may find this unnecessarily repetitive, whereas others may enjoy the recap. Additionally, I still don't have much of any sense of the main characters' personalities - just the factual information provided in part 1, with a a couple more facts (albeit interesting ones!) since. The one thing that is very clear is that the heroes are very protective of Meg, though I don't feel any other emotional connections between her and the heroes yet - but it's only been a couple of days in their world so that makes sense. Surprisingly, the aforementioned new characters introduced in this installment were the part I enjoyed the most this time around.

My review so far may seem negative sounding but I don't necessarily mean it to. If you have ever watched a daytime soap opera you know that the story progresses very slowly in many respects, with each episode going over things that were already known and the audience learning about characters very slowly, with slow relationships and just enough new, interesting or exciting information to keep you coming back. The reason they work is because there are tons of episodes and after a long period of time you can look back and see there was a detailed plan that eventually resulted in a cohesive, detailed and complete story arc. You come to know those characters very well and love their journey. Some serials follow this model and some are comparable to an ongoing prime time series episode instead. I like both kinds and so far I feel like this one matches the daytime model more. With enough installments (necessary because of the slower pace of character and relationship building) I truly think this will become a great completed series, and I am looking forward to the next release.

I would give the 3rd installment of the Divinity Saga 4.5 stars! This part didn't have the action scenes like Part 2, but it gave us a lot of back story to move the plot along, answered some of the questions that came up at the end of Part 2, and introduced us to some awesome side characters (I hope we get to see more of Morgan and her 2 guys Maddox and Josh in the future!). I liked how we got to learn more about Brock and Meg got to have some alone time with him. He is the strong silent type, but not a bad boy, which is a nice change of pace. I have to say, I totally fell for Mitch in this one. I like how stoic he is, but how he can't resist touching Meg. I think he is showing the most growth and change, trying to be the strong pack leader, but trying to listen to Meg and put her and the teams safety first.

I am excited for Part 4, can't wait for September! I like seeing more of the issues with the council and the tainted. I like the description of the animal combos and the shocker of the Divines ability with them. My only suggestion would be to explain some of the surnames or have a page in the book with the explanations of them (like Qayid). I wonder who will be on the 4th cover...I'm hoping its Quinn <3

This is the thrid part of the Divinity Saga and I don't think I'm made for serials. I'm always confused at the beginning of a new part and it takes me some pages to get into the story again and then it's over, especially as compared to other serials this one is quite short.

This part picks up with the aftermath of the battle part two ended on. Quinn has to be flown to the hospital due to his extensive injuries and that's where part three mainly takes place. We meet a couple of new characters, who have a new idea what Meg could be.

I still like the idea behind the story and I'm sure I'm going to love it when all the parts are out and I can read the story in full, until then I'll live with being confused while reading.

I am really trying to get into this serial and I really want to like it, but honestly I keep going back and forth. There are times where I feel like meg doesn't seem freaked out about what is happening to her and around her and other times where she seems overly dramatic. It has only been 24 hours in the timeline so far and there are so many emotions happening, which I really have a hard time believing. I feel like this story could be so good, but it just feels all over the place to me, in both emotional connections and storyline. I am hoping once it all comes together into a cohesive storyline it will fit together better, but as of right now, not the biggest fan unfortunately.

I struggled with this book, as I couldn't remember exactly what happened in the last book. so I had to go back and re read the books.
I think a short "what's happened" at the start of the book would help people like myself who struggles daily to remember if they locked the front door every time I leave the house lol.
otherwise fantastic book. I love Meg. I love the guys.
Meg is such a great character. and I can not wait for the next book. it's never too much information either, it's slowly trickling in throughout the book. :) sadly leaves you wanting more

As the third part in this serial you do get a bit more answers about a couple of the characters while also meeting a few new ones. Due to the progression of this part you don't get to see as much interaction with the main character and the guys and based on how this one ended it seems like the next part might be the same, but the storyline is still keeping my interest for sure! I am definitely interested in how the main character is going to handle the next part because it sounds like she is going to have to be away from those she knows for a bit. Looking forward to the next installment!

This is the 3rd part in the Divinity Saga Serial. And boy are things getting exciting! We get more answers regarding Meg and ger Divine status, about Tainted and the Council. Not everything is as it appears but things are heating up, there's a lot more to the story and the relationship between Meg and the guys is definitely developing. And we keep getting exciting snippets that leave us wanting. Cant waig for the next episode! *rubs hands together in glee*

I received a free copy of this book and voluntarily decided to review it

Wow! Part three continues where part two ends and is just as exciting and parts one and two

Poor Meg has so much to deal with, we get to learn a bit more about some of he main characters and more problems arise for our awesome group of guys and Meg

I highly recommend this serial, it is exciting danger filled, you learn the answers to some questions and you have more questions, keeping my attention for sure

Looking forward to reading part four

My heart is racing as we jump into book three! As this story unfolds, we discover some new insights regarding the Divine and Meg. Of course I felt there was a big elephant in the room that was not addressed, but that is just me jumping ahead. Has it really only been 24 hours? I supposed if these were all read at one time, I may not be so stunned by that revelation. While we didn't get as much interaction between Meg and the guys, this was an brilliant intro to what I suspect is coming our way. Is it September yet?

Now we're getting somewhere. The third part was definitely better that the previous two. I don't know if the writing improved or if it was for the fact that a lot of things were actually properly explained here, but I finally found myself enjoying the story (however short it might be). The story took its time, not hurrying and trying to squeeze a lot of event in the short length with no explanation for what's happening. On the contrary, everything maintained a normal pacing and all the facts were properly described.
I don't want to say anything more and jinx it.

This book though...

I swear this author thrives on juicy cliffhangers lol queen of edge of your seat short suspense. She always has me coming back for more, no matter what she writes. However these books are pretty amazing even for a serial. What I liked most about this book without giving away any spoilers was the character development of Meg and the changes that she goes through. I love she starts to feel more for her five very delicious guys and comes a little bit more from being broken. Well done!

This was intense. I questioned how they would react to her being Tainted and also what she really is. I love the introduction of Morgan and her whole past with the two guys who growls at everyone who comes near her, which cracks me up. My heart breaks about the knowledge of how Tainted are created. And now we are left off with the council poking around. This was over too soon and I can't wait to read the next book.

Serial #3 - And the plot thickens. Is Meg tainted or is she something else? Does Quinn survive being shot? When will the council arrive. The third installment of the Divinity Saga delivers and moves the plot of the books along. Love the concept of the book. Prior to reading the third serial, I needed to refresh my memory of where the story last stood. Looking forward to the next set of chapters.

Such a tease!

I'm really having a love/hate relationship with this Serial. I love how questions are answered and there's always something going on. Meg is a pretty awesome character and the guys are really showing their personalities. I hate how everytime it gets to a good part it ends and you have to wait form the next installment. Ok I'm just impatient, but with a good story like this can you blame me? Oh well, just have to wait for the next one!

Please be aware this is not a book. It is a serial reverse harem and must be read in order. This is part three which starts off exactly as part two ended. Quinn, the snake shifter, has been severely injured, and Meg believes it is all her fault. As Meg's eyes continue to change color, will she find out if she is tainted or not? You'll have to read it to find out! This book is full of twists and turns and you will want more!

During this installment my nerves were in high wire for Quinn's health, we got more information about the different sub- species and now I'm seriously questioning if Meg is adopted or her parents opted to play dumb for the sake of her.

But we' ll need to wait another month for the rest and see how they dodge the council lakeys.

I enjoyed this continuation of the Divinity Saga. I had some trouble at the beginning remembering which boy was which - and honestly in retrospect I don't know that I really had a feel for them by the end either - but this edition isn't really about the boys so much as it is about furthering the overall plot with the mystery of Meg's supernatural-ness. Looking forward to the next one!

What I love about L.A. Kirk's serials is that they pick up right where they left off at. I am quickly finding this series addicting. Protection of Five has a bit more suspense and story progression than the ones previously. I'm dying for the fourth as L.A. Kirk tends to leave me in suspense! This was the third installment of this serial. This one included a little more information on some of the characters. I'm interested to see how things progress now that we know more about Meg. As always these bits of the serials leave you wanting more. Can't wait for the next one.

This was the 3rd installment in the series. It did not disappoint plot wise, it moved along well and told us a little more information about what Meg is. I am dying for some romance action but I realize it's still super early in the story. I am anxiously awaiting the next chapter!

The slow burn of the relationship is hard to stick with in a few chapters at a time but I think this is so worth getting it in a serial form. I like the build up of the overall story and I'm loving the guys so much more with every addition!

It just keeps getting better...

Gaaahh! I am loving this story, but every little section is just too short!! Meg keeps finding out more about herself and it seems she is in more and more danger. But at least Quinn is okay... Now anxiously awaiting September's snippet.

Good so far, I like how the relationships between Meg and her new world are starting to be developed, but I do really need a few more instalments to see how it goes from here. Looking forward to the next one!
