“Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice, shame on me.” Malena, a young, free spirited woman in the last year of undergraduate school is trying to figure out where her heart belongs with this thing called love. What she fails to grasp is that the love she’s seeking is not dependent of other’s actions, but of her own. Open emotionally, Malena and her boyfriend Maayad – or what she considers him to be – find themselves struggling to keep faith alive in their relationship. One chance too many has been given, and Malena finds herself torn between what her heart yearns for, and what her mind needs; solace and security. Mellow, and as smooth as silk, Demir has been nothing but the perfect best friend to Malena. Coming to her defense has always came natural to him, and having been placed in the friend zone from the day they met, Demir doesn’t mind his title one bit. In fact, he wore it proudly until he began to see Malena for who she really is; or isn’t so to speak. Though he loves the bond they have, and finds himself curious as to what they could become, his relationship of three years stops him from doing so. Tip-toeing on the edge of temptation, balancing her busy life and strenuous relationships, Malena is forced to make some life altering decisions. Ones she never saw coming until it was too late. In this fast-paced tale of love, loss, and life lessons, BriAnn Danae introduces her readers to a fresh, relatable storyline and set of characters you’ll grow to love, even hate. Being loyal isn’t all it's cracked up to be; especially when you’ve been played the fool in the name of love.

Good book. I hope that in the second book that Lena ends things for good with Mayyad he wasn't good for her and didn't deserve her at all.

‘So sad what love will make you do…All the things that we accept…Be the things that we regret’

Malena Brim is young, beautiful, enchanting, intriguing, and has life by the tail…yet she’s bound by the love she pours on Mayaad, her ‘supposed’ boyfriend. Mayaad is a wild card that knows that Malena is a treasure, but he’s young and wants all the benefits that come with a ‘special’ friendship that has no boundaries. Mayaad has no problem playing the ladies as long as when he calls, Malena comes running. Malena’s male bff, Demir Kincaid is a different kind of dude, he actually respects ladies and will go the last mile for his bff, even if he only tolerates who she chooses to be in relationship with…or not. Greigh, her female bff, wild and boisterous as she is, all she can do is give her two cents and stay on ready for whatever…whenever. Sounds interesting, right? Bet…it is. When time has passed and the situation is at a standstill, will the heart continue to accept foolish wishes or finally allow the heart to skip a beat as you close a chapter that’s no longer viable?

My Heart Is A Fool is a smooth read with engaging relationships that will make you sigh, make you smile, make you frown but also make you remember….there was this one time…there was this one person…I remember when. Malena hasn’t been the only one that was young and foolish, so this read is indeed motivation to know that it’s okay for the heart to be a fool, but will you choose to remain foolish. Will Malena remain or walk away and allow herself to fall into the strong arms that have always been open for her? I enjoyed this storyline…there’s nothing original, but the flow was sleek and I was entertained, even when I became exasperated. A few errors, but it didn’t take away from the storyline. I will say, I hate cliffhangers… BriAnn Danae, get to know her, her penmanship will captivate you. 3.68

Greigh is funny af.

It’s always weird in these BFF to lovers stories bc their partners can see the connection. They deny it. And then boom they finally admit they’ve always been in love making their ex significant others correct in their jealousy.

Why would Lena have unprotected sex with a guy that for three years haven’t been willing to define their relationship? Especially when she thinks he’s unfaithful. Consequences can be pregnancy or std

Lena annoyed me by texting/calling Maayad for graduation and his birthday. 🙄

I’m so mad that Greigh talked Lena to go to Maayad’s kick back. What was the point? Besides this flawed decision I really like Greigh.

I know longer feel bad for Lena. She’s enable this man to treat her less than for years. She doesn’t know her worth and bitch made men will use that to their benefit every time.

This story was ok. I was disappointed in the female lead for most of the book. The end was so suspenseful. Off to book two

A tricky heart

The Heart can fool you into what it wants, most of the time it wins. This is something Lena had to learn the hard way. No matter how many flags went up, burnt bridges and broken promises she let her heart led. This love was normal to her it was all she knew, but it always that chance during something tragic, the mind takes over. Lena's heart and mind were never in the same place, no matter how right or wrong it felt. The entire book I rooted for Lena, I wanted her to see that it's someone else out their, give someone else a chance. Too many times her heart tricked her into believing this was her worth. She had to see it in plane view when all the signs were there. The author did a great job expressing the characters feelings, the storyline was dope and I all around enjoyed it. I don't like Geoni and Mayaad can take a dirt nap.

One of the best books I've read in a long time

Man!!!! Don't we all know what it feels like to have a man take advantage of our love?? To give him chance after chance after chance and have him just blow it time and time again!! This was such a realistic book. I don't care how pretty you are, how much body you have, how good you are at your job, and how much paper you have stacked, everybody either has been a fool for love or know someone that has been. It was hard at the end to even that was it?? They won't get a chance to see what could be... They say the key to being the most forever lovers is to be friends at first. If that's the case, Malena and Demir have it made. It's been a long time since I literally prayed that a book had a second part. This was so good it just cannot end like This, but if it does that's real life too.....

This was a good read. It was about love, friendship, heartbreak, temptation and forgiveness. I love the friendship that bestfriends Malena, Demir & Greigh had with one another.

Geoni and Demir have a good relationship, although Geoni seems to be intimidated by the close relationship that Demir has with Malena. I like Greigh's character she was funny and didn't have a filter .

I was hoping Malena would soon recognize her worth and get rid of that dirt bag Maayad who she's been dealing with for 3 years without a title. Maayad was selfish and undeserving of Malena's love. I guess you can't help who you love, no matter how bad they hurt you.

I didn't expect the twist at the end of the story and I'm anxiously waiting for part 2.

This was my 1st read by this author. I'd give this a solid 3.5. I feel Malena and Demir were very relatable and memorable characters. Their friendship felt real and the author's exploration of the theme, friends to lovers was more believable than many I've read; it felt more realistic than just a plain ole fairytale.

This lost some stars along the way due to lack of progression I felt with Malena and Yad's situation. Also the sub charcaters seemed to take away from the story at times. I found myself skipping a few filler scenes.

I'm quite invested to see what happens in book 2 as this wasn't short on drama, especially at the end.

Love this!!!!

I honestly don't think Lena is dumb. I think she a real life for a lot of women. We sometimes let our men walk all over us in the name of love. No one can tell us anything about them, we have to see it for ourselves and be fed up with the ish. I absolutely commend Mir because no matter what he was there for Lena. I love their relationship. His feelings for her has always been friendly until he saw her and sometimes it happens that way. Now Greigh is the best friend every girl needs because she down to ride and she keep it real plus let you cry on her shoulder. Really great read!!

Noooo I wasn't ready!!

Wait, is that it! I don't know where to begin. I have to say that Esmin is definitely on my radar! Lena and Maayad though? I understand love will make you do some crazy things, but really?! How many times will it take!! Geoni and Demir were an interesting couple, I'll just leave it at that. I love Greigh she is the best friend you need to have and she's on her stuff. I can't take that ending though. Too much was thrown at me, I need to wooosaaa!! Awesome as usual BriAnn.

This is my first book by this author and it sure won’t be my last. Lena was sooo oblivious to the stuff Mayaad was doing right in face! She was getting me so mad! I loveeee Demir he’s so cool calm and collected. I never liked Geoni for him and Mayaad ain’t sh*t! Low down dirty dog a**. Greigh was funny af I loved her character. I loved all three of them as best friends. But this book can’t end like this!!!! Nooo please don’t end it like this. A few errors but the book was so good I can overlook them.

Tugging On My Heart Strings

Please brace yourself for the emotional rollercoaster this book will take you through! 😩 Malena was too deep into a something that she thought was the best while Maayad just loved the look of her on his arm. The start of every great relationship is a friendship so Demir's whole demeanor was so refreshing for the stuff she was dealing with. I loved Greigh and how she held her girl down every step of the way; geoni on the other hand will piss you off. Overall this was an emotional read that I'm fully invested in... part 2 next.

Whew… that title says it all, because this book took me through it. Malena had me so stressed with how she kept going back and forth with Maayad. Watching her pour so much of herself into someone who clearly didn’t deserve her it was frustrating and heartbreaking. I just wanted to shake her and tell her to please listen to her friends. And Demir… oh my heart. He was everything. The kind of best friend every girl deserves loyal, patient, loving. That ending shattered me. I felt like my chest caved in. I’m still not okay.

A Fool in Love

Awesome! Really enjoyed the friendship between Greigh, Demir and Lena. Everyone needs a friend to tell you the real deal....yet love you regardless of the decisions you make. Lena wants to be loved and loves Mayaad with all of her heart. Demir and Geoni are in a relationship and Geoni feels threatened by Lena and Demir's friendship. 1-click and see what happens when we let "our heart be a fool."

Refreshing

This book was definitely a breath of fresh air. Reading about love, being used, heartbreak and forgiveness in real life situations was definitely something relatable. Demir is #bookbae and my newfound book love. BriAnn never disappoints so you know this book is a banger and probably one of my favorites by her thus far. Get ready for an emotional rollercoaster with this crew.

I hope part 2 is soon because that ending oowee!!

Honestly Lee kept pissing me off. Clearly Maayid will never do right by her yet she continues to be a fool for him. Mir is the perfect choice for her. I knew Demir's girlfriend seemed snakey but she truly showed her colors at the end. I need to know what happens. I read this book in less than an 2 hours because the storyline had me hooked plus it is fictionally based in my hometown!!

Really

What kind of foolery is this!!!! Lena has to be the weakest, stupidest, girl on this planet. I'm so tired of reading bout these weak women, darn boss up. Now Greigh, she my girl all day. I love Demir and Esmin. I know there better be a part 2, even though I don't like series. I will read the next one. Hope it don't take forever to get it. Plus, Maayad and Genoia karma need to hit them in the worst way.

This book was really good. It was such a tear jerker and a page turner. So much so that I really don’t even want to spend the time writing this review. Going directly to part 2.

Boring

I'm sorry but this is boringly boring, like watching paint dry. Nothing at all happened besides Malena constantly being stupid, now watch, it's going to take her slow tale forever to tell her best friend about his girl. I'm debating if it's worth reading book 2, I usually finish what I start but this may be a pass, it's boring and predictable, we all know how it's going to end.

What the hell just happened

This is beyond a doubt Briannes best work! It seems like I keep saying that in every one of her reviews but she keeps growing as an author. I know that this is supposed to be a standalone but l have never wanted a series like I do right now. That ending killed me, Brianne I need you to take it back and make it better! Lol....this is a great read!

Emotions too high

I have so many questions. But the main one is WHHHYYY?! It seems like neither Demir nor Lena could catch a break. But Lena brought a lot of bs on her own shoulders. Does Greigh and Esmin ever hit it off? Does Demir ever find out Geoni's secret? What happens to Maayad? I hope there will be a part 2.

Omg 😲

Omg 😢😢😢 just read this book and I'm literally in tears. This ending was too intense. Like I was hoping for a happy ending but damn man I wasn't expecting this. At a loss for words. To love someone to death literally and they don't deserve it is the worst. I definitely can relate to want to be loved in return so u give someone so much of yourself til there is nothing left.

Lena was a fool

Maayad played her one too many times.
I can't wait for Esmin and Greigh
Malena just updated me cus instead she should have whooped Geoni a**. She had too much mouth for all she was doing.
Bad her students now knew her business.
We all play the fool at least once tho.
Can't wait for more on the gang.

The title definitely describes the character Malena. She was getting on my entire nerves she was too comfortable being in a relationship with a dog. Her best friends Mir and Greigh was so funny and honest to her but I guesss the heart wants with the heart wants (whatever that mean) but the author delivered secrets and temptation was “tempted” and positivity was shown also. I can’t wait for part 2
