Silas Hart takes what he wants. Everything he wants.
He’s a thief. Always has been, always will be. When we were kids, he taught me how to pick locks and pockets.

And then we got older, and we learned to open doors to places we never should have gone.

Eight years ago, he stole the kisses from my lips, and I gave him everything. And then my thief stole my heart.

But he also stole a lot of money for some very bad people, and then the boy I knew disappeared.

But now we’re both back in Shelter Harbor, and Silas is no boy.

He’s a man. A hardened, cocky, demanding, very grown-up man.

A man who looks at me like he wants to steal me away again. Like he wants to take me, like he wants to make me lose my mind and scream his name. Just like I used to.

But I’m not that wide-eyed little girl anymore. He left nearly a decade ago, and I don’t give a damn what Silas Hart thinks.

There’s just one problem...

Did I mention we’re still married?

**This book is "book one" in a series, but it is a completely standalone book (approx. 65,000 words) with a HEA and NO CLIFFHANGER!**

2.5 estrellitas

Intensely romantic and emotional. I'm so satisfied with this story. From the very start, the emotions run high.

Silas breaks his woman's heart when he has to run to Ireland to avoid all the terrible consequences of his actions of one night. I loved the fact that they are both shattered by that decision. Their deep bond is trembling with pain and distrust, but it's not severed.

The author crisscrosses their points of view to show the changes during eight years of separation. All the memories from the past pinpoint their present situation with bittersweet feelings.

I liked both characters. Silas is a bad boy who misses the family he unwillingly betrayed. Ivy is an Instagram star whose public life is more artificial than she needs. Things start to heat up when time and anger start to make way to all the passion that still burns under their skin.

I think the author is writing better every time she gifts her readers with a new poignant romance. This new bunch of characters is going to be very interesting to know as well as the very real, quaint hometown Shelter Harbor.

I really felt the intensity of some parts where the characters fought with their own demons of regret. The story ends with a lot of meaning, family, second chances, and finding out who you are despite all the things you've been. Very good!

I'm not sure who the audience is supposed to be for this story. The characters are mid-twenties who act like teenagers. They make dumb decisions in this far-fetched plot that feels rather juvenile for people that age.

And the writing style? Another one-sentence-per-paragraph writer who doesn't know the proper uses of objecective cases of pronouns, especially after prepositions. And the paragraphing within the dialogue became confusing as to whom was speaking.

It's not that the story was horrible, but I am very obviously not the audience for a book like this. Maybe college students on summer break should read it?

I'll only read this if the hero was celibate during their separation. It says they were still married that entire time so if he left and was fucking whores left and right while still married he can go die. Hope fully someone can provide some details.

If you believe in 2nd chances with an old flame, then this book is for you based in Boston. The writer made sure when people spoke in the story that they rolled their "R" like they do in Boston. This was such a cute book with a lot of heat & steam! Lol :-)

What's a Little Larceny Between Lovers?

I completely enjoyed the rewrite of this beautiful sexy story of a boy from the wrong side of Shelter Island and his tragic but rescued childhood who grew into a noble man forced into an exiled life of crime in Ireland. He was married three days prior to his banishment from the unique and beautiful Ivy his childhood friend who became his "one" true love.
It is a bittersweet beginning when Silas, now a super sexy hot man and...Ivy, an internet and business sensation who has also become a beautiful woman herself, both meet by accident on the docks of Shelter Island after years of not seeing or communicating with each other. They are still secretly married after eight long years but lingering resentments on both sides get in the way of significant communication so that they can either move on without the lingering heartbreak or come together to start a life.
A few complications get in their way as well. No one but her one sister knows that Ivy was married those eight years ago. Ivy has a new shiny boyfriend. Silas still has his uncle who exerts his criminal influence over Silas. Despite his promise to himself to lead a good and honorable life, there are still thieving impulses in his soul.
"It’s like a horrible little junky’s itch — the addiction of the steal creeping up inside like some sort of waking dragon." - Silas
Despite the obstacles in the way of their reunion, there is still an undeniable reawakening of how much they loved/love? each other. Silas may be the bad boy thief but they both wear a symbol of how they stole the key to each other's heart on their body.
This author is masterful with dialogue and description. I could see the island in my mind's eye and almost smell the ocean breeze. The author builds body combustible heat in her erotic scenes. Makes me happy to have the ocean breeze she conjures with her descriptive language to cool off!

***ARC Kindly Provided by Author in exchange for an honest review***

Absolutely loved this story! Aubrey Irons books just get better and better in my opinion and this is definitely her best yet. I was so happy when she announced after the release of Player that Austin's FBI pal Kyle, and the rest of his crazy (okay i did kind of assume that based on Kyle's sister Stella) would be getting their own series and although a little disappointed it wouldn't be starting with Stella or Kyle. However I must admit their sister Ivy did intrigue me, especially after reading the synopsis of this story.

As for the story itself I thought it was really great and it had me completely hooked from the first chapter. As for Silas and Ivy I loved them both and it was obvious from the moment they first bump back into each other. That they are still madly in love but are really just too stubborn and hurt to be honest about their feelings. And so they do spend a lot of time yelling and generally annoying each other instead, but thats partly why this is such an enjoyable story.

There were also a lot of fun moments. Mainly thanks to Ivy's family and especially her siblings including Stella. Who is the only one who knows she actually married Silas 8 years ago. As well as a tiny bit of angst as Silas tries to prove he is really a good person and has given up crime. Which turns out to be a lot harder than he anticipates. Thanks to his Uncle Declan and an FBI Agent determined to find out where Silas has been for the past 8 years.

Overall though this was a really enjoyable, engaging and entertaining story and a great start to this new series. And I'm certainly looking forward to reading more from this family in the future and would happily recommend Thief to others. Especially if you love a good second chance romance.

Ivy and Silas have not seen each other in 8 years, which was the night he left her behind and went to Ireland to escape criminal charges. Ivy and Silas had a secret marriage that no one knew about. They all know Silas left Ivy behind, but do not know exactly how far their relationship had gone prior to his leaving. Silas is back in town and so is Ivy for a park dedication to her father. Ivy has no clue that Silas is back in town and feels blindsided when she sees him. Ivy is also blindsided by her "boyfriend", Blaine, who was really a fellow blogger that appeared with her to promote their images. Ivy runs away a lot in this book and it got old real fast. Silas realizes that he has a lot to make up for but also that everyone knew why he did what he did and left him behind without a second thought. I thought Ivy should have apologized to Silas for not telling her family what he meant to her. Instead she buried it and pretended all was fine. Silas sets about getting Ivy to see that they still have something and she does come around eventually but I didn't like the whole back and forth she did with him. She knew she loved him and was definitely hurt by what he did, but basically ran to him when things were too much for her. Overall an okay read but too much immaturity and not enough of a buildup of their back story to make me "feel" their love. Also, who sleeps separate after marriage because their parents don't want them in the same bed together? That part was ridiculous. Her parents needed to get over themselves. If marriage was sacred, why diminish Ivy and Silas' marriage?

I received tis for a honest review. This was such a great story.

My heart really broke for Silas Hart. He had an uncle that was not even worth being the scum off his shoe. The only thing that Silas’ uncle did was teach him to be a thief, cause him to lose the only woman he ever loved, and cause the family Silas ever knew turn their back on him.

Ivy Hammond’s was so much in love with Silas. The were two young hearts that were so in love. He broke her heart and disappeared for 8 long years. Now here she is face to face with her husband who she has not seen in 8 years.

Silas has had a very hard life. He knows what his mistakes has cost him. The way of a criminal is like a drug to him and he is doing his best to stay way from it all. The problem is his uncle is determined to pull him right back in to the life style. Silas will have some very important decision to make. Will he stay that little boy or will he grow up and be the man that Ivy so needs.

Ivy has a boyfriend. This kills Silas to know this. Blaine who is Ivy’s boyfriend seems to be making excuses on why he can not make it in. Ivy really needs him. It is killing her running into Silas.

I loved Rowan in this book. He was the only one of the Hammonds that seemed to be there for Silas when everyone else turned their back on him. Of course Rowan knows what really happen that night 8 years ago.

Don’t worry there are some hot and steamy parts between Ivy and Silas and this is a HEA book.

A STEAMY SECOND CHANCE!

A fabulous fast-paced well written read with a bit of reality and fantasy make this a most intriguing read. Powerful vivid scene descriptions, suspense, action, witty dialogue, sensuous passionate romance keep you hooked until the end. Silas and Ivy's journey to their happy ending is mixed with heart-rending emotions, confusion, and dangerous threats; but a sweet ending it is.

Second chances don’t always come around often but when they happen you grab onto them and hope with all your heart you get it right and are forgiven for past mistakes. Eight years ago Silas had to leave Shelter Harbor due to a robbery gone bad. He also left behind Ivy the one who holds his heart captive. Dublin was to be his home instead of going to jail for years and each year away from Ivy left him aching for her. Now back in Shelter Harbor he is determined to prove to Ivy and her family that he is worthy of keeping Ivy forever.

The chemistry between Ivy and Silas shine in this story; their romance sets the pages ablaze with much passion and adoration making them a fantastic couple. The author does a wonderful job showing that people can change, and when a second chance comes along forgetting the past truly should stay in the past. If you treasure bad boy romances this is a terrific book for your library. {I found this to be a most gratifying read so I voluntarily reviewed an advanced copy}. Without reservations, I recommend this book.

This is the story of Silas and Ivy. Silas is a typical bad boy from the wrong side of the tracks. Ivy is Silas's best friend's sister who is a good girl from a good family. They are in love. One fateful night something happens that causes Silas to leave abruptly and it's ends with Ivy in tears. Fast forward 8 years later these two meet up again both returning back to celebrate her father's achievement in the community. Ivy and Silas haven't had any contact for those years. She went onto college and then started a successful business while Silas was doing dirty work for his criminal uncle. There are a lot of unspoken words between these two. Can Ivy get past Silas leaving 8 years ago? Has Silas changed his ways? This book had it all - drama, hot sex, mystery, action, secrets and intrigue. I love the intensity and passion that Ivy and Silas have for each other. This was another amazing story from Aubrey Irons. I loved the way the story unfolded. I was all wrapped up from the very beginning. This story reminded me of a cross between Sweet Home Alabama meets Endless Love. If you are in the mood for a sexy story about two star crossed lovers with a HEA, then this is the book for you. I can't wait to get my hands on the book #2 in this series. **received an arc in exchange for an honest review**

I loved this book! Silas and Ivy are two kids who fell in love and due to circumstances beyond their control have been separated for eight years. They marry in secret when Ivy is 18 and Silas is 19. Silas was led to believe in order to avoid being charged for something he did not actually due he needs to leave for at least 5 to 8 years. His uncle sends him off to Dublin. His uncle of course is not above stretching the truth to make Silas do his bidding. Ivy is left shattered because Silas is never given the chance to explain why he is being told he must leave. Eight years later the two meet again. Silas is ready to explain why he left and that he did it to protect her. Ivy doesnt want to hear it. Eventually everything comes to light and Silas vows to protect her while trying to get out from under his uncles control. Their story is sweet and intriguing with mystery. They both come to realize they are both very much in love still to the point that neither has ever stopped wearing their wedding band(be it on a chan) nor has either of them filed for divorce. This is the 3rd book of Aubrey Irons that I have read and look forward to more in the series. ARC was given for an honest review.

I am a fairly new fan of Aubrey Irons and I love her books. She has this way of getting the story out and hooking you at the same time. “Thief” is a different take on the bad boy books that I normally read but as I say, “A bad boy is a bad boy no matter the business he is in.” The book is fabulous and you will not be disappointed in it. The emotions in this book will keep you glued to it till you are done reading it. This book is recommended for mature readers 18 year of age or older.

Silas Hart and Ivy Hammond had known each other since they were kids. He was a thief and he basically taught her how to steal. He was good at what he did, so good he even stole Ivy’s heart in the process. Then he stole money from the wrong people and he disappears from Ivy’s life. Now 8 years later Silas and Ivy both are back in Shelter Harbor and she bound and determined not to let him steal her heart again. Only problem is they are still married. Will Silas steal Ivy’s heart again? Or will Ivy lock her heart and keep him away from it?

No Spoilers. ARC free book given in exchange for an honest review.

An stunning second chance romance. I was so taken by this book, I absolutely could not put it down.

Silas Hart has been gone for 8 years. Leaving behind the girl of his dreams and the only family he's even known. But he did it to protect them.

He has one goal now. To make good with the family and win his girl back.

Ivy is no longer the wide-eyed naive girl that married Silas Hart on a whim. She's an internet sensation, has a boyfriend who is just as popular and has made a brand for herself. But when she steps off the boat in her hometown and runs into Silas... her whole world is rocked.

Why is he here? Why is she having all these feelings hitting her again?

As the two reconnect - their feelings come back to the forefront. But can Silas prove to Ivy and her family that the past is past and he's a changed man.

This book rakes you in and you just can't put it down. Silas is the bad boy trying to do his best and Ivy is a little snobbish, but Ivy brings out the best of her.

I LOVE this and can't wait for more! And there is the added bonus of a double epilogue that is just ... sigh. A must read for sure.

This book has really warmed me up!!! With the wonderful 'true soul mate love' and the amazing characters... And come on... Who doesn't love a real bad boy!!!
I refuse to give spoilers, so i'll try my best to explain how wonderful this story is, without giving anything away!!!
Silas and Ivy have a past!!! One that left both of them compleately broken... But needed to be done at the time!!! 8 years later they are both back in their home town and torn between the past and the future!!!
This book takes you on a journey that's full of twists and turns, and will keep you reading because you just need to know... What happens next!!!
Although it was a slow burn, once you get into it, you really do get pulled right in, along side the characters. A wonderfully written book and i may have a soft spot for Silas now, even though he has made some terrible choices!!! I can't wait to see what Ms Irons has planned next, i do know... That whatever it is, is going to be great!!!

Good read. Standalone, bonus story

This was a good read. I love Aubrey Irons writing. I only had one issue with the whole story. A few lines repeated too much for me. But I loved the characters and how they grow and change. I would of loved the ending expanded more or more details before the story wrapped up. I would read again. (Bonus story not part of the review).
Overview. Ivy was born in a large family. Her family helped raise Silas part time since his parents died and his uncle was not good. Silas and ivy fell in love. But an accident happened and he ran away in hopes that Ivy would be better without him. Ivy moved and started her own athlete/women's beauty business online. But when she is asked to come home for a family dedication, she is shocked to see Silas there. Her heart aches, but her heart wants him back. Will the two find love again? Will all the secrets finally come out in the open?

What a great book from Aubrey Irons! Ivy Hammond and Silas Hart have a history that very few know and a secret that Silas took with him when he ran away after the night that changed everything. 8 years ago they were married and then Silas left for Ireland after a job with his mobster uncle went very wrong and his best friend Rowan Hammond end up in the hospital with a shattered leg. Now he's back in Shelter Harbor and so is Ivy Hammond. The night Silas left broke Ivy's heart, but she thinks she has moved on. With a new boyfriend, a great career as a internet sensation her life looks good on the outside, but with a return home and the return of her husband it's clear to see neither moved on. While Silas and Ivy try to reconnect everything seems stacked against them and both have to figure out if what they had is what they still want and if it's worth it. I loved Silas and Ivy's story! I voluntarily reviewed an Advanced Reader Copy of this book.

Love it! Secret marriages! Second chance love!
When Silas married Ivy he had no idea what his future would hold. He had plans but they were ripped away for one mistake. His best friend and the only family he ever had known were ripped away as well. This family wasn't blood but they took Silas in when he had no one else and treated him as their own. One mistake cause Silas to loose eight years with the family he loves and the only woman he will ever love.
Ivy has moves on from Silas. Why didn't she file for divorce? She has no idea why. But it never seemed like the right time to do it. Now he's back and she is still pissed at him. Eight years ago he broke her heart and her family lost a boy they loved like their own. Can she forgive him?
Cheating boyfriends! Love that never dies! Family forgiveness!
A 5 star must read!

This is the second book I have read from this author and I'm glad I did. Aubrey Irons tells a complete story and Thief is no exception. Silas and Ivy were lovers back when they were teenagers and after one tragic night Silas leaves the country. 8 years later he is back and he has never stopped loving or thinking of Ivy. Ivy feels the same towards Silas even though she tries to fight it. When they start seeing each other again the past comes back to haunt Silas and it could tear the two of them apart forever this time. But Silas is a man now not a scared boy and he will do anything to fight for Ivy and not let her go this time.
The attraction and sizzle between the two jumps out at you and I loved every page of it....highly recommended.

Second Chance romances are always a favorite of mine and the story of Silas & Ivy was one that had me from the first page to the last. After being apart for 8 years (yes that's right, 8 long years, even though they were legally married), will have your heart aching for a HEA. Their chemistry and love for each other is intense and hot! No matter what they had to go through (bums, challenges, struggles, self doubt, envious outsides, etc.) they managed to fight through it all and found their way to each other and together. Silas is a thief, in that he stole me heart. If you enjoy second chance romances then read Thief - I will definitely look into this author for further reading. Happy Reading!

Silas did something that caused him to lose the girl he loved and he comes back eight years later.
Ivy has moved on and has made something out of herself. But she is still in love with the bad boy that broke her heart.
They both end up back in their home town eight years later. They still have feelings for each other but are angry because they each feel the other didn't fight for what they had when they were younger.
Silas is trying to get his life together but his uncle is trying to pull him back into the family business.
This is a sweet love story about second chances.

Thief was an enjoyable romance.
Silas had lived with Ivy and her family for years, they grew up together and he showed her how to steal many things, then he even stole her heart and broke it when he disappeared.
But now I've returned and he's here, and my world is turned all around again. He's not the boy I knew but a hot man who looks ready to steal my heart again.

I loved this second time around romance it as very entertaining and an important decision that had to be made added tension to a well written storyline.

This is a 4 star read for me.

I just loved it! I just knew that I would not put this book down until I finish it, the moment I read the summary!! And I was right, I'm going to read it again sometime this week.

You just never really forget your first TRUE love and that's what this book was about. It was awesome!

Silas and Ivy were just so hot together and I loved how Silas fought for her and never gave up.

This is my first book from this author and I'm definitely going to check her out and her future books!
