The catch: I’ll be someone’s sugar baby for a year. Paid to be a private escort.
Beau Carter is young, beautiful, and with a bright future ahead of her. Her dreams of becoming the first woman in her family to graduate from college are just within her grasp, when the financial aid runs out. Up to her eyeballs in debt, she works night and day to make ends meet, but even that can only last for so long.
Hendrix Parker lost it all four years ago. Angry at the world, he’s become an asshole—a bitter shell of the man his family once loved. A recluse, he is now forced to leave his sanctuary in the Florida Keys and become an active member of the real estate developer community he now dominates.
Problem is he’s all alone and needs a buffer. Someone to draw attention away from him.
Elena M. Reyes is the epitome of a Floridian and if she could live in her beloved flip-flops, she would.
As a small child, she was always intrigued by all forms of art: whether it was dancing to island rhythms, or painting with any medium she could get her hands on. Her passion for reading over the years has amassed her with hours of pleasure, but it wasn't until she stumbled upon fanfiction that her thirst to write overtook her world.
She’s a short and sassy Latina with an adorable pup, a kiddo that keeps her on her toes, and a husband who claims she’ll cause him to go bald prematurely. Lol

Craving Sugar is not my first time reading Elena M. Reyes’ writing. Since I have never been let down by her work in the past, all I needed to see was her name and “over the top alpha” to make me want to read this book. Alphas are my favorite type of hero, and if he’s an asshole too, that’s like hitting the jackpot! If there is anything I can assure you about this book, it’s that the hero in this story is the epitome of both of those things.
Hendrix Parker doesn’t date. He isn’t opposed to a one night stand, but other than that, he prefers to be alone. The downfall of this is that he often finds himself in need of a date when he has to attend business functions he can’t get out of. His best friend, Jax, encourages him to remedy this by getting a sugar baby. Actually, “encourages him” is an understatement. He practically badgers him to death to get him to consider it. Jax is a sugar daddy himself, and he assures Hendrix that the mutually beneficial arrangement is exactly what he needs. Hendrix reluctantly agrees to give it a try, and when he sees Beau, he knows he made the right decision.
Beau Carter is the perfect daughter, sister, and friend. She is always there for everyone in her life even to the detriment of her own happiness. Her best friend constantly uses her to cover her shifts at work, her mother expects her to be at her beck and call, and her sister uses her as her own personal nanny. When Beau needs money for college though, the only person she can depend on for help is herself. Her parents are already helping her sister financially to the point where there is no way they would be able to assist her in anyway. She doesn’t have any idea how it’s even possible for her to come up with her tuition waiting tables, and that’s why when a well-meaning women approaches her about being a sugar baby, she actually takes it into consideration. Ultimately, she lets her need for an education outweigh her pride and agrees to meet Hendrix for lunch.
Neither of them were prepared for what happened next. A business arrangement was all it was supposed to be, but after their pants came off, the boundaries of their relationship started to blur. It isn’t long before Beau begins to wonder if the money she is receiving is worth the cost to her heart.
Craving Sugar is a steamy as hell romance with a complicated hero that might test your patience. Hendrix drove me crazy throughout much of the book. I mean, Beau had to have whiplash trying to keep up with his mood swings. I sure did! Don’t get me wrong, he had a reason behind his infuriating behavior, but I struggled with why she would have the feelings she had for him considering the way he treated her. Despite him making me wish I could jump into the book and karate chop him in the head, I did want him to get the girl. I knew he was sabotaging himself, and I just wanted him to stop. I knew once he did, everything would be fine. Because I loathe weak heroines, I was happy with Beau’s evolution and proud that she finally started demanding the respect she deserved from others. If you are looking for a romance with a true alpha, asshole hero and a healthy dose of smut, look no further! This one’s for you!
I really wanted to like this one and don't get me wrong, it wasn't a BAD book by any means, but honestly? The hero ruined this one for me. I don't mind a good asshole, but this guy went SOOO far past that. From calling the heroine a "whore" and "a piece of ass I want to own" to doing manipulative and illegal things to get his way...sigh. I just couldn't STAND him. He crossed so many lines that I wanted the heroine to go to the police and slap a restraining order on his ass. There was never a moment in the entire book where I liked him or warmed up to him or even respected him in any way, shape, or form. That was a bummer. The heroine, on the other hand, I did like (for the most part). She was doing what she was doing for her family. She was smart and had a big heart. Unfortunately, because the hero was such a douche it often made her look like a doormat.
Now like I said it wasn't all bad. From the big drama on (maybe the last 15%) it was very good and wished we had gotten more of THAT a bit earlier in the book. I also found the writing and pace to be excellent. There was no OW/OM drama. The hero does have a dead ex, so do be aware of that. The sex scenes were hot. Angst lovers will more than likely enjoy this one as there is a lot of push/pull and hot/cold behavior. It had some interesting secondary characters (I'd love to read about Zoey and more about Jax), and it wrapped up in a sweet little ending. So a bit of a mixed bag with this book and I suppose it depends on how high your tolerance is for epic douchenoodles on whether it is a hit or miss for you. Still, overall it gets a thumbs up from yours truly.
SIDE NOTE: I HATED the endearment NYMPH in this one. Had it been used sparingly it might have been OK, but it is repeated no less than 85 friggin times! 85 people!! It got to the point where I wanted to throat punch the hero every time he said it!
My first warning should have been “I pay you to be my whore” but nope I was damn stupid and I read it. I don’t consider a man an alpha when he treats the heroine like shit on his shoes and a pathetic heroine who leaks more than a faucet when meeting/seeing the hero.
“I paid you to be my whore, not play Susie homemaker. You'll never be more than the woman I pay to use.”
Authors: Do you actually think every woman out there really gets wet when meeting a man for the first time? Don’t you think this trope is stupid? Why do you have to be a follower? Why can’t you be your own person and write something that no one has written before?
“Addiction is a terrible thing,” she murmured under her breath before taking my lower lip between her own and biting down on the abused flesh. “You are a terrible thing.”
Craving Sugar was my first read by Elena M. Reyes and let me tell you it would not be my last! She can write one hell of a feisty heroine and one hell of an Asshole hero- a real fucking ASSHOLE! Beau Carter is an independent, sassy-feisty, beautiful, and smart young woman with so many dreams that need money to succeed. I love her personality and how she handles most of the obstacles presented. I say most because in some parts I wanted to scream at her and tell her "Girl fuck him! You deserve better" lol Which I know she knew that herself and I also get where she was coming from. Her parents didn't have the money that many college students had so she had to figure a way out of debt. Being a Sugarbaby wasn't even on her radar but if that doesn't tell you the determination of finishing her career for a better life I don't know what will!
"I needed to be patient. He cared, or would in the future. Just hoped that my heart wouldn’t be destroyed in the process."
Hendrix Parker, OMG I love the fucker! I gotta say that I love a true Asshole and this guy right here took the nickname to another level. He's an arrogant Asshole, sweet in his own way, smart, sexy as sin, and a control freak. I see many didn't like him because of the way he treated Beau and I totally understand but I couldn't hate him, yeah I wanted to slap the shit out of him at times but I kind of knew why he was the way he was and I'm guessing that's why I couldn't hate him? He had his own reasons why he acted and treated Beau the way he did he was just trying to protect his broken heart.
“There’s a part of you that wants me, even if it’s for a single night. Stop fighting it.”
Overall I enjoyed reading this book and I truly recommend it to every reader that wants an angsty, push and pull scenarios, hot sex scenes, a feisty heroine and one hell of an Asshole hero. That's been said if you're a reader that dislikes assholes or who call their significant other an ugly name such as "whore" then I don't recommend you read this book. These characters had many ups and downs and I'm so glad the author gave them an adorable HEA.
“Nothing comes without a gamble, Beau. Best things in life hurt, test your resolve, but seeing it through and coming out on top makes it all worthwhile. If you truly love him as you say, then fight.”
ARC provided by Author in exchange for an honest review.
Beau Carter is a college student whose dreams of academia are on the verge of ruin due to economic hardship. Her family invests all their attention, finances on her problem child older sister, and never has anything left over for her. Hendrix Parker is a successful businessman that checks all the most eligible bachelor boxes in theory. In reality he is antisocial, which is why his best friend is pushing him to explore unconventional methods of dating.
The Good: 1. Beau is a good mix of an innocent, yet sexually adventurous heroine.
2. The friends of both the heroine and hero help to keep the story going. I am actually hoping to see more books featuring their love stories too.
3. Hendrix is very alphahole, but it worked for me.
4. I appreciated the lack of storytelling judgement for the women in the sugar bowl.
The Bad: 1. Hendrix could sometimes be so mean, and could see it being a turn off for some of my more sensitive book friends.
2. Beau's family was hard to take. They had me burning up with anger by the end.
Final Thoughts: I love reading about those with their fingers in the Sugar Bowl. I've been looking for more books with that theme since falling in love with Sawyer Bennett's . This really fit that brief. I would definitely recommend to my fellow sugar addicts.
I really liked this book a lot BUT there were times that Beau got on my nerves. I got her character and I really did love her too BUT she was a little too stubborn at times.
I did love the growing relationship that she and Hendrix formed but would have liked a bit more sweet times if that makes sense!
Beau Carter , an average woman on a mission. To try to find the money to continue her schooling in behavioral children's education. Working double shifts by her college an get turned down for loans. With no good news anywhere in site until another student overhears her conversation, an thinks she would make the perfect "sugar baby" woman who hang on the arms of older men at engagements , acting like the girlfriend, but getting completely taken care of. Beau doesn't realize how much until she sees the girl Zoe's apartment, knowing a college student could never afford it. After a last straw, she gives in an the whiplash of millionaire Hendrix Parker begins. A scarred man that doesn't believe in any rules that aren't his own, dominant in many ways , a complete control freak .Thinking this is a joke an getting his friend off his back he sees her profile , a man used to getting what he wants he knows how to use manipulations , but at what cost to both of them? This had all the elements of steamy sex that Elena M Reyes writes so well! Loved the storyline, the plot and OMG the epilogue!!
Tell me you will be my sugar, nymph.
“Kiss me,” I repeated and watched with hunger as Beau watched my lips. Licked her own. “Why?” My head was at war with my head. Do I tell her the truth or a bullshit lie. Again, I looked down and focused on those pouty lips, the words were out of my mouth before I could stop them. “Because I need to taste their sweetness or I’ll go insane.”
Get it the f**k together. She’s here for a paycheck and nothing more. The perfect sugar whore.
“I paid you to be my whore, not play Susie homemaker . You'll never be more than the woman I pay to use.”
“Addiction is a terrible thing,” she murmured under her breath before taking my lower lip between her own and biting down on the abused flesh. “You are a terrible thing.”
It was a little formulaic, but I liked it. There were a couple laugh-out-loud moments, tender, sweet and sad. But all in all, I really enjoyed the read.
So I'm a bit torn on this one. When I first read the about blurb I anxious to jump in. I always find stories with a call girl or the many versions of that job type fascinating. I liked Beau immediately. She's trying so hard to make something of herself and when she comes up short with the money to finish college she exhausts every possibility she can think of, being left with only one seemingly viable option. She will become a sugar baby. A year out of her life for enough money to make her dreams a reality. Seems like an easy choice to make when she thinks hard enough about it.
Enter Hendrix, he is bitter, reclusive, rich, handsome and a grade a a-hole. Hendrix is where things get complicated for me. A-hole alpha male leads are certainly not unusual in romance. Heck, 9 times out of 10 I'm all for them. Every once in awhile though, I come across a hero who I know intellectually I am supposed to enjoy and fall for, but it just doesn't happen. I was hard pressed to find a redeeming quality in Hendrix for a big chunk of this book. He was horrible to Beau and I really wanted her to show him the door on numerous occasions. My dislike for him made it difficult to enjoy most of the relationship and even the scenes that should have been hot left me a bit cold. I was hard pressed to see what Beau saw in him. By the end, I was starting to grudgingly enjoy Hendrix to a certain extent, but I never completely warmed up to him.
Damn what a book and what an alpha hero!! Hendrix Parker was lonely, miserable, broody but oh so gorgeous and all alpha. He was also rich and kept to himself.
Beau Carter was a college student that didn’t have not one selfish bone in her body and seemed to put everyone before her. I really felt bad for her with how she was treated but she had a backbone and a bada$$ way to her that would come out when people less expect it. Beau needed money to pay for her tuition when her friend introduced her and signed her up to be a Sugar. She was completely against it but gave in when all her other alternatives failed.
Enter Hendrix who was forced by his best friend to create an account on Sugar to find a date and companionship for an award banquet. Hendrix hated the idea until he saw Beau profile and was immediately intrigued and mesmerized. Something about her pulled at him.
When they met it was terrible, lol. He was not nice at all and she wasn’t putting up with his bs. The first couple of chapters is the back and forth between these two because regardless Beau was a tough cookie to break. She wasn’t having any of his demanding way and that just made him more hot for her. When she caved in the chemistry and electricity between these two was 🔥🔥🔥🔥. They had good moments and bad moments. I wanted to kill Hendrix half of the time because of his poor pissed attitude. Beau tried to put up with his ways until he downright disrespected her and that was the final straw.
I really hated Hendrix when he did that to Beau. With time they both realized that they had fallen in love. Hendrix got his act together and had lots of begging to do. The epilogue put a smile to my face especially the very end which leads me to believe that I’ll see more on these two.
I voluntarily accepted an advanced reader copy of this book.
Craving Sugar was my first book by Elena Reyes, and it was a story that I enjoyed. Beau, a down-on-her luck student comes together with Hendrix, a lonely man still reeling from his past in this sexy and emotional story.
I love the kind of stories that involve a hero and heroine who have no intention of falling in love. Hendrix and Beau were a prime example of that, and the author did a great job with the push and pull between them. Both characters were well-developed, and I liked the way things played out between them, especially the chase at the beginning of the story. I for one really love a hero who is a complete jerk, and Hendrix was that and then some. He had his moments of kindness, but it was a long journey before he could open himself up to Beau. I think Beau's character was my favorite, she was strong and didn't back down, and she didn't make things easy for Hendrix. They had a seriously strong chemistry between them, and the intimate scenes were well done as well.
While the story was well-written, I was a bit put off by the lack of pronouns used, especially in the dialogue. It may just be the author's writing style, but I found the absence of "I, he, it," ect. at the beginning of each sentence to be a bit distracting. Readers who don't mind that will have no problems with this book. Even though I did, I still felt like the story flowed well and I enjoyed the way things played out with the characters. I enjoyed the supporting characters as well, especially Jax, Crystal and Zoe, and would love to read their stories as well.
Excellent and touching romance It’s again with Elena M. Reyes, both excellent characters in a complicated, exciting situation to which the initial situation does not seem to have a healthy or calm solution. Here, Hendrix needs a fake girlfriend and his friend enrolls him without his advice, to a service in which young women act, without being either escorts or prostitutes. Hendrix is against it, arrogant, but when he watches he chooses Beau who is stuck helping her family and her autistic niece. She finds it hard to come to terms with what she is going to do, let alone be underestimated or laughed at and Hendrix can be really manipulative. But this relationship biased by money, power constantly collides with a mutual attraction that neither of the two thinks they can trust by remaining themselves: Hendrix wants to control everything and Beau wants to remain free not to follow the rules he wants to impose. The story is hot, intense, moving because the empathy for Beau is immediate, and Hendrix's reactions, unpredictable. I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book
Craving Sugar by Elena Reyes is a book that gives you all them feelings you want! Heartache, anger, sadness, happiness, joy and laughter. It was a mixed sweet bag of emotions. Hendrix has some important business meetings coming up so his best friend talks him into hiring a sugar baby. Beau is out of options, she wants to stay in school, being a sugar is her last resort, she just didn’t count on Hendrix.
I felt for Hendrix and the grief he felt and wanted to hug Beau when Hendrix was being mean to her and pushing her away. I felt everything she did. Sometimes I wanted to strangle him, sometimes I wanted to slap him and say be nice to her!!! But sometimes I wanted to hug him. Elena makes you feel for the characters in this story. I was so happy when they both got their HEA! This book is a five star read, I had the pleasure of reading an ARC of Craving Sugar in exchange for an honest review.
Hendrix Parker. Rich, single, stubborn, over the top alpha, jealous, controlling, demanding, in need of someone to knock the chip off his shoulder!! I swear I went back an forth on this man 50 times while reading this book, I loved him then I loathed him, I wanted him brought to his knees. I knew there was a rough past but until I understood it I didn't fully understand the man, once I got it there was no more dislike for him!! Beau, first off I adore her name, she's the go to, walk all over me girl her friends and family take advantage of. Once she starts to see this she wants it to change but doesn't really work hard at making it happen. She's forced into 6month contract with Hendrix that messes her up pretty bad. Her head, her heart, her mind. She's young, she has a lot to learn and Hendrix ends up being a key ingrdient in that process.
Cravying Sugar was a fun, dirty read with a great plot. 4 stars.
Holy Cow! This one one wild ride of a book. You have a young lady, Beau, who agrees to be a “Sugar Baby” in order to financial help herself and her family. She a smart funny girl who honestly didn’t deserve to end up with a guy like Hendrix.
Speaking of which, I am not sure I have words for Hendrix. His past has caused him to become a cruel, heartless man who signs Beau to a contract to be his arm candy / make believe girlfriend to the public eye. But boy oh boy is he a jerk (and that’s putting it mildly).
This is a well written story but don’t go in blindly thinking it’s all going to be peaches and cream. It’s Not!!! To be honest I hated Hendrix actions to the point I wanted to just put the book down. But I kept reading knowing somewhere there had to be something better for Beau, she deserved more. It’s a tough journey but one I am very glad I took. 4 Stars from this reader!
So I have mixed feeling about this book. I really loved Beau and her feisty-ness. I wanted so much for her to get everything she dreamed of. She was smart and very giving to everyone around her. My issue was with Hendrix. I had a really hard time liking him for most of the story. His actions and words just make it really hard to understand what qualities make Beau fall in love with him. He is slightly redeemed when you find out his history but unfortunately not enough for me to think he deserves Beau. I found this a really quick read and I did want to find out what happened at the end.
Holy hot tamales! One of her best works yet! Beau is a firecraker who knows just what she wants and finds what she never knew she needed with Hendrix in this fabulous new novel.I fell in love with Hendrix, even when I wanted to hate him, dick moves and all, and Beau was just the girl to show him what love really is. I laughed and cried and almost threw my kindle a few times! This is a must read for anyone who loves amazing characters and a timeless love story with steamy encounters that will make you sweat.
This was a gorgeous surprising sugar baby romance with a prickly, assholey hero who I loved.
The hot frissons were so sexy and every word fed into this building lust. I would have happily read more of Hendrix and Beau.
There's a dead wife in the mix which I don't usually care for but it was all fine and she didn't become the third invisible character what usually happens.
This was a first for me from Elena Reyes and It was a hot read.
So the Hero (Hendrix) in this book made me so mad at times but then melt the next minute. The heroine (Beau) is down on her luck and looking to make some cash. She hears about being a sugar baby and decides to give it a try. There were times I yelled at my Kindle then would laugh out loud. This book is super good!
Ok I honestly thought that Christian Grey was one of most demanding over protective men there was. I was wrong Hendrix Parker gives Christian I huge run for his money, but he's one the biggest jerks out there. He's more than demanding he's also 100% to the T alpha as they come. Him and vicious together would be leatheal lol.
Hot, sexy read with an over the top alpha and a heroine that gives it right back. She needs When we first meet Beau, she seems to let people run over her. Not that she is a pushover, more like she goes over and above for those she cares about. They tend to take advantage. She is financially strapped and needs money to fund her education. She is introduced to the sugar daddy world. Meeting Hendrix adds fire to her persona. She get a backbone and gives him a run for his money. Hendrix has secrets that he does not want to share. He lost a lot in his past and does not want to go there again. He is fascinated with Beau and it throws him. He tries to remain aloof but it a useless fight. Read the dynamics and power play between the two. You will not regret it.
This has to be without a doubt Elena's hottest book to date!! Hendrix Parker is a stubborn, rich, demanding alpha who needs a reality check. Beau Carter is a struggling college student who is barely getting by until someone helps her out of her dire financial crisis. I can't tell you how many times I wanted to punch Hendrix in his pretty boy face when he was being a jerk, however because it's an Elena M. Reyes alpha...I kept reading to see how Hendrix was going to redeem himself. Elena has a way of creating characters that make you feel their pain, love and hardships. Bravo Elena!! 👏👏 Can't wait for your next book!!
WOW!! Such a HOT and YUMMY read!!! Elena never disappoints when it comes her alpha makes and feisty heroines!!! Hendrix is one smoking hot alpha!! Rich, confident who follows his own rules!! A complete a-hole!! Beau is a kind heart young lady!! Always helping others!! She is struggling financially!! Enter Sugar Baby!! Although Hendrix and Beau have an intense connection and smoking hot chemistry!! Is that enough? Can these two overcome the obstacles thrown in front of them? Fanatic storyline!! Wonderful characters!! Definite must read!!
I am voluntarily writing this review for this book I received through Booksprouts arc.
Hendrix friend told him he should meet someone because they have some upcoming events he must attend. His friend told him about sugar babies but Hendrix was being an jackass gave his friend a hard time. Zoe overheard Beau conversation with her friend about her financial situation. Beau takes Zoe up on how to be a sugar baby. Hendrix checked his account and got a lot of emails. While scrolling down hegot to the last picture on his matches he saw her. Hendrix gets in touch and tells her where to meet him and what time. But, that wasn’t what it was suppose to go and told him “No”. Then she tells him where to meet her the next day. They were sitting talking he started to get really domineering so she told him that they weren’t going to be a match. Hendrix couldn’t let her go even though he was a control freak until she walks out on him at his office. Hendrix runs into Beau at a bar with her friends. Hendrix has a secret from the past and he was very wary of woman’s intentions that is why he went with a Sugar Daddy website no muss no fuss but a negotiated contract. Beau moved in with Hendrix but reminded to tell him it was only for the 6 months and then she would be going back to her old apartment. Beau as getting tired of him a dominant jerk. But, it wasn’t until he say those words to her that made her leave immediately. Hendrix is a dominant and Beau a submissive they do not see themselves like that at all also no kink.
