Cedar Branch #2

Beach Space

Rate this book
Normally, when seniors settle into Cedar Branch Retirement Community, they begin a simpler and slower pace of living. Not this group! For Jack Goslin, Karl and Betty Rutherfurd, and the Stevens Sisters, nothing is simple or slower after moving into the number-one retirement community in the South. As a neighboring resort battles over the beach property, our eccentric group of seniors wages war on its uptight and controlling manager, and given the green light for residents to enjoy private golf carts—well, things just get even crazier for Cedar Branch manager Derrick St. Clair.
From the new, exotic fitness instructor to Violet’s secret winery, Jack’s pimped-out golf cart, and a host of other new issues for its director, CBC continues to build a reputation as the most interesting retirement community in the South. If you are looking for a place to retire, settle down, or witness bizarre fiascos, stop by Cedar Branch. Who knows—you just might make it home!

Well, I am a husband and father. I love the outdoors, hiking, kayaking, stand up paddling, fishing, you know "man stuff" but I'm a sucker for chick flicks. I wrote Fields of Alicia, Waterproof, Across Borders, and the series Micah and have several other novels finished and in the making. My Cedar Branch series is a comedy that is well liked and earned an international book finalist award. And yes I am a raccoon lover, my wife and I rescue and release raccoons. Lee DuCote knows how to write a novel with heart, guts, and plenty of humor and lighthearted funny moments! I love the way he balances his novels.

This concept for the novel was great.

These characters each have their own personalities and depth to them. None of them felt one-dimensional or forced, they all shined through as individuals.

Another great read from Lee DuCote, a little bit different, but I love his writing style!

DuCote uses laugh out loud moments to help combat any looming drama.

This author does a great job of combining several genres together.

I think that as soon as you start this one, you wont want to stop until you have finished it and then you will want to read more by the author as soon as possible!
