A clear, well-written account of the battle with some well chosen personal accounts that bring home the terrible brutality of this conflict.

Solid factual narrative of the British campaign in Normandy. British perspectivewill probably conflict with many U.S. writers that don't like Monty and think Bradley broke out as fast from the bocage as could be expected.

Short on maps by today's standards, but lots of good photographs
