Raiyne Kerns gets what she wants. Whether it’s from her burgeoning business as one of the nation’s most sought-after ad executives, or in her love life, she’s never the woman who aspires to be the neck of the household.

She’s the head. The alpha.

But when Elliot Milton walks into her office seeking her renowned expertise, she immediately feels the spark. Eventually, that spark turns into a full-blown flame and, no matter how much she tries to deny it, her attraction to him begins to surge past the physical. But she didn’t get to her position in her career by being vulnerable. And despite the secrets she keeps hidden deep within her past, Raiyne isn’t sure if she’s willing to relinquish all of her power to the dark eyed, powerful man slowly claiming her body…and her heart.

Past hurts

This was my first read by this author and I really enjoyed it. The story flowed well and e characters were relatable. Raiyne was a successful business woman who had a lot of issues to deal with because of her past and her mother. Elliot was a business man who needed Raiyne's expertise. One thing leads to another which leads to the bedroom. Raiyne and Elliot are great together, but there is stuff in both of their pasts. She did fully trust Elliot even though he constantly reminded her that he would not hurt her. There are some ups and downs that make this story a good read. I look forward to reading more by this author.

First time reading

I liked how they met. How they dated and slowly opened to each other. Her relationship with her mother was frustrating for a self made business woman, it seemed strange the pull her mother had. Read it straight through. I really enjoyed it. Off to find more by Bryant

Decent

This was a decent read by first time author Emery C.F. Bryant. The first half of the book even though the foundation was good, was kinda slow at keeping my attention. It did get better toward the end. I give it a 2 1/2 and look forward to any additional work from this author

Love it!

I didn't know mothers like Madelinne exists. She was so cold to Raiyne. Not once taking in Raiyne's joy of finding love. Elliot stood by her side until she pushed him away. Love the epilogue!

Raiyne and Elliot

What a tale of trust and love found, given up and renewed again. There were some parts of the story in which Raiyne aggravated me with her Indecisiveness but she ultimately saw the light.

It's good

Realistic and engaging, the leads both had to overcome fear and trauma, to build trust and believe in love. I was rooting for them all the way, Rayne was a bit irritating though... Lol

Okay

This book was slow, confusing and lacked that certain feel of true romance. I didn’t like the heroine or the hero! This was not worthy of the BWWM Club!

Hard for me to empathize with the MMC, so this was not one of my favorites by this author. May read it again at a later date. It may hit different by that time!
