My fourth book, BRILLIANCE BREWING, is now out from Black Opal Books.
I am a healer and mystic from New York City. I teach psychic/spiritual development/personal growth and write about what I know through the lens of memoir, with liberal doses of humor and irreverence. I am an activist. An outspoken truth-teller. And I encourage you to be the same. Welcome to the world of RAVING VIOLET.
Each time I listen to one of Gilbert’s books (she’s written four books), I become more and more intrigued with finding my higher self.
She is quite the entertainer as she shares life experiences. She has an irreverent look on life, and sees so much in an event. She says there is more to life than meet the eye. She tells us to quit following, but lead and to trust in yourself.
Her telling is much like a monologue with its comedic side! Additionally, I enjoy how she turns a phrase or sentence in a least expected way.
In Brewing Brilliance, she touches me personally. She has motivated me to do something I’ve always wanted to do, but didn’t think I could. I’ll share more of that on my blog when the time is right.
As far as narrating, she’s a pro with her impersonations of various characters in her story telling. She shares the grief of losing her little pooch Mimi and the struggle of finding her new dog, Milo, to share her life. With the sharing, she shares lessons of life. I feel I know the real woman.
Gilbert is not stingy with book or movie recommendations to illustrate her points as she talks about reincarnation, or hypnotic regression and past-life regression. Two books she suggests are Many Lives, Many Masters by Brian Weiss and Dying to Be Me by Anita Moorjani.
It's been a while coming, but was worth the wait. Brilliant as usual, Ms. Gilbert takes us on a journey of moments in her life, exploring, learning and sharing her perspective on various topics. She made me laugh out loud. She made me shake my head. She made me think... and remember. And I learned new things! An excellent writer, with depth, without being overwhelming, I recommend her books with 5 stars. Her voice can be hypnotic at times, full of emotion and I enjoy every moment of her narrations. Thank you!
