Who knew this story would turn out A.M.A.Z.I.N.G and it’s my FIRST EVER time travel read, or is it 🤔🤔hmmm 😂 and also my FIRST ever book by this author....but no matter what I cannot believe that this book is not as popular (again 🤔🤔) cause it’s effing amazing. Oh I said that already LOL. Anyways I was confused at first with Maya and Glenn but if you’re like me and need to know (cause I won’t go into it too much) so a sleepless night and three books later is when you know that you never expected a good read.
The story is definitely about learning to accept, trust, drugs, alcohol, overdose, war, death, love, angst, weirdness (for me it was at first but) friendship ( amazing friends) and also knowing if you will give up what you know and grew up with, all for love, cause I sure as hell wanted that for Maya and Glenn and also knowing that you fell for the secondary characters that made this book worthwhile and one of my rare finds not recommended by my other fellow book lovers.

The story of this book is set around Maya Cruz and at first its set in present day and Glenn Jackson from 1962 then there is some time travel because Maya ends up in Glenn's time which is in 1962 LA. Maya ends up traveling back in time to become a PA to Hollywood's up and coming actress Florence Wood. While back in 1962, Maya meets this super hot and very well-known and beloved actor Glen Jackson. She ends up becoming his friend and as the story progresses, Maya realized that many believe Florence and Glenn belonged together. But Glenn ended up falling for the lovely and sweet Maya instead of fragile Florence.
Will Glenn and Maya get their HEA? What happened to take her back to the present time and how does Florence factor in?
This story ends on an epic cliffanger and I was left with so many questions. I cannot wait for book 2 to answer these questions.

I can't even begin to explain how good this book is. M.S. Parker is a fantastic writer and knows how to get you sucked into her stories.
Resisting Temptation is the first book in The Glenn Jackson Saga. It's not a standalone and ends with a cliffhanger.
The characters are strong and likeable even though they are both selfish.
I'm chomping at the bit for the next book! I can't wait to continue this amazing ride.

I’m a longtime fan of M.S. Parker’s writing, and I was very impressed with her foray into time travel Romance with her “Lightwood Affair” series (so well done! If you’re a time travel romance aficionado, I highly recommend checking then out), so I was pleasantly surprised to get an advanced reader copy of “Resisting Temptation”. I was even more intrigued by the 1960’s Hollywood setting and the suicide/murder mystery feeling of the plot. Another favorite of mine! Jackpot!
But I have to admit that I struggled with “Temptation”. It’s the beginning of a series so I’m going to stick with it and see where it goes, but it took me a lot longer to read than usual. The problem for me, was Maya. The story is about how she ends up in the 1960’s – and that’s because of the not-so-great choice in friends she made, and a terrible mistake. She’s only 19, basically still a bit childish, and that’s understandable. She’s not a bad person, she’s perfectly normal, and a good person at heart. But she’s so naïve and really too young for Glenn. She believes that she has to save the life of the actress Glenn’s linked with and that she knows just how… but she really never questions that assumption at all. She makes that one enormous assumption and never once looks for any other way to resolve the problem, or thinks about how anyone other than the actress might be effected…. Or even it will get her home, or how. She doesn’t really seem to have any deep thoughts, or thoughts about voiding deep thoughts, like most people would seem to do, which seemed odd to me. (Heck, if I were dragged backward through time, I’d either go crazy trying to figure it out, or go crazy trying NOT to think about it!)
Now Glenn? I really like him. He’s the perfect 1960’s Hollywood Leading Man: sexy and confident, talented and charismatic, with a healthy respect for his female coworkers that he demands others share on set. He’s smitten with Maya from the moment they meet – and I can grudging admit I see why – and he’s trying to rehabilitate his public image. Everything about him makes sense and fits the story beautifully. By the end of the book, I was simply heartbroken for him. I want to read the second book if only to be sure that he’s going to be OK.
As it stands right now, he definitely will not: he’s inexplicably lost Maya, and his world is falling down around him.
As for me, there are so many unanswered questions… which is to be expected of course. I’m hoping that’s a purposeful thing, and not an oversight. In my experience, Miss Parker is a super-sharp writer, so I have to assume that what seems to me to be gaping plot holes are imply stings waiting to be pulled tight and wrapped in bows at the end. Because that’s what she does, and she does it well. And by the end, she’ll also probably make me love Maya, too.

Resisting Temptation is sexy, sweet and suspenseful had me on the edge of my seat just waiting for the thing to happen that I didn't want to happen.
Maya has a toxic relationship with her best friend, so toxic that it impacts her life in a tragic way. So her parents send her away to live with her uncle so she can get away from her friend, and get a new start in life. It's through her uncle, in a roundabout way that she'll end up meeting the love of her life, Glenn Jackson, Hollywood bad boy. But he's not of this time, no, he's from 1962 and Maya travels back in time to save his girlfriend from doing something she'll regret. That Maya falls in love with him instead wasn't expected, but inevitable.
Normally I don't like time travel stories (although I do love Doctor Who, the king of all time travelers), but there's something so genuine about Resisting Temptation that I fell in love with it, and Maya and Glenn and Maya's Uncle Daniel. Maya and Glenn have serious chemistry, and M.S. Parker has written them in such a fantastic way. Now I can't wait for the sequel coming in September. Please hurry, September!

When I started reading this book, it came across as just weird to me, not at all what I was used to with M.S. Parker. I almost put it down and didn't continue, it dealt with a subject that I prefer not to read. But it strangely worked the more I got into it. It helps a lot that the author's writing is darn good, because once the story had its hooks in me, I couldn't get enough. Florence is a rising star in 1962, and Maya finds herself going from an old abandon studio in 2017 to the year 1962 right in the middle of a now very busy movie studio. Weird, right? Maya eventually meets Glenn Jackson, the hot leading man who is reckless with everything he touches and in the throws of controversy after the death of a girl that died while at a party he was attending. I'm not going to get into specifics, don't like spoilers, but this story definitely has its drama and it keeps you turning page after page to find out what happens next. It's a modern day Somewhere in Time, and I loved that movie. Definitely worth the read, and I cannot wait for the next installment to come out!

The story begins with nineteen year old Maya who is thrust back in time to 1962 with a mission to save the life of Florence Wood, a movie star who died tragically young, but is that the only reason fate sent her fifty years into the past? Does it perhaps have something to do with handsome movie star Glenn Jackson and the electric connection between them the moment they lay eyes on each other? Can their love overcome the vagaries of time and space?
I'm dying! I need the next book like right now! I am not normally a fan of time travel stories but I am hooked big time on this one. I loved the characters and the storyline and I can't even begin to guess how this romance will play out. I only know that I am counting the days until the release of book 2.

MS Parkers latest book is not to be missed, it was beyond outstanding.
The story of this book is set around Maya Cruz from current day and Glenn Jackson from 1962, and somehow Maya ends up in Glenn's time (yes this is a book about time travel, if this is not your normal cup of tea, I promise that this book is so worth the read), and when they meet, their story starts an amazing journey between two people who are destined to be together, or are they?
This book had me hooked from the first page till the very last one, I will warn you that this book ends in the ultimate cliff hanger, which will leave you wanting more and throwing your kindle across the room when you realize how long we have to wait for book two, but knowing this author it will be well worth the wait.

Incredible Time Traveler Romance. Cliffhanger. Must read MORE!!
WOW! I AM HOOKED! I normally won't read time traveler books at all. I WAS HOOKED FROM THE START!
I couldn't put the book down!
Maya is a college who likes to party with her friends. After a horrific accident she is sent cross country to egg her head back in straight away from her party friends.
When her uncle shows her a shut down movie set; Maya starts exploring. When her uncle finds her she is confused. No time has passed yet she has time traveled.
She had lived in Hollywood fifty years in the past. Where she met and fell in love with Glenn an actor.
I loved and highly recommend this book.

The author has written a real love story with this book: Resisting Temptations. Love at first sight, time travel to save a life without even knowing she was going to do it. This is a great story that was difficult to put down at times.
This reader just loves Maya; the care and support she offers to her new found friend Florence except that her attraction to Glenn, is a test to her strength and personal resolve.

Brilliant
Absolutely fascinating, each page has you gripped wondering what's going to happen next. Maya for some unknown reason is whisked to 1962 she has know real idea why she is there other than the possibility that she is supposed to save the life of an actress which she does. At the same time she falls for Glen a major actor of the time just as he proposes she is whisked back to her own time. She has no idea why she is back and only wants to return to the man she loves, she starts to research the events of that time and discovers that she had definitely been there. This is a brilliant story and I can't wait to read the next book. My compliments to the author a wonderfully imaginative piece of writing.

Into a era where things were much different,and she was a PA to one of Hollywood's up and coming actresses Florence Wood. Maya believed she was thrust back in time to save the life of Florence Wood. Then there was the other half of Hollywood's royalty Glen Jackson. Many thought that the lives of these two actors belonged together. But Glen fell in love with Maya.. In time Glen proposes to her.. and just like that Maya wakes up alone and back home. Will she ever get back to 1962 to Glen? How will this change everyone's lives?

I love M.S. Parker's books. This one threw me for a loop at the beginning. I won't say because it is an amazing part of the story. This book is so extremely well written and is so intriguing that you can't put down until you get to the end. Then we get to the end you all you can do is yell noooooooo. I need to know what happens. I love M.S. Parker's books. This one threw me for a loop at the beginning. I won't say because it is an amazing part of the story. While visiting an abandoned Hollywood studio she is transported back to the year 1962. She finds herself working as the assistant to a famed Hollywood actress who committed suicide. Lots of twists, surprises and the love of her life. Wow what a story, I loved it. I received and advance reader copy and voluntarily chose to review it.

Wow, what a book, I was hooked from the beginning. I'm not usually a fan of time travel books but this had me from the start. I have read most, if not all, of M.S. Parker's book and love her writing style! This book is so different from what she normally writes and it was a nice change! Time travel isn't my cup of tea, but this author can make anything interesting! I was still on the edge of my seat wanting to know what would happen next!
I look forward to seeing where this series goes! How will Maya get back to the future/present? What about the relationship with Glenn from the 60s? So many questions, like M.S. Parker always leaves us with!!

I am not normally into time travel romances, but I love M.S.Parker so much that I will read anything she puts out. This story is about Maya Cruz, who is having some terrible life issues and is sent to live with her Uncle in L.A. Somehow, she finds herself back in 1962 as a PA to a Hollywood Starlet, Florence Woods. She feels like there is a purpose for her being thrown back in time. Then she meets Hollywood Heartthrob,bad boy Glenn Jackson. This story was intriguing and entertaining, and I very much enjoyed it.

This was a nice time travel romance. Maya finds herself in the year 1962. Unaware of how she got there, she soon realized that she needs to save a woman from a tragedy. Her connection to Glenn in undeniable and she must fight her attraction to him in order to save the woman.
This was a great read keeping you wondering where the story will lead to next. The book finishes with a cliffy but I can't wait for the next in the series to see what happens next.

I was ambivalent about this book when I started it because for whatever reason, time travel is not usually a sub-genre I enjoy. However, this book completely sucked me in and kept me reading until I finished it. ONE person can change a life or the world as we know it with just one action and MS brings that to us in a nice package complete with some wonderful steamy moments. I can't wait to read the rest of the saga and find out how on earth these two people from very different worlds find each other and make their happily ever after.

Ok, so I got to the end of the book and I cried. Not because of the way it ended but because it actually ended. I don't want to wait until October. I want the rest of the story right now! I never read a book so fast in my life. I am so wrapped up I'm this story that I flew through it. This story is so emotional, so amazing, and I am so invested in Maya and Glenn getting their happy ending. The Glenn Jackson Saga is storytelling at it's finest.

We all makes crazy mistakes
Maya has reached the place in her life where she hasn’t figured out which end is up. Things keep happening that she just can’t control; can’t explain. Confusion seems to be a constant state of mind.

Loved it! It had me intrigue through all the pages and I can't wait for what comes next. I want them to be together but so far nothing has been easy for them. I thought the idea was very creative when it comes for the connection between these two and no one else. They really are made for each other but their love is considered impossible. But that will not stop Maya from trying against all odds. I'm looking forward to what she will do next.

Mysteries findings of love of lives changed forever, because of a lover, helping people from death, depression and challenging differences! I personally annoyed tearing this amazing authors books. In the beginning of was hard to under stand what was happening, truth of a dream of fantasy!!!!!! ENJOY

So good! Although I don't usually read time travel books, Resisting Temptation, had me completely
vested in the characters and storyline. Glenn and Maya have a common bond...sweet, fragile Florence. Can their relationship survive the friends zone? Will they follow through with their desires? Can Glenn reform himself? Will Maya have time to fall in love? A fantastic read!

What an incredible story one of past and future. When two ppl find themselves in trouble they find each other in the strangest way. Caught between wanting to be in the future and the past Maya is conflicted, when she finally accepts the past she's thrown right back into the future. I can't wait to get my hands on part 2

I received an ARC for this book.
M. S. Parker has made it so that I want to start reading time travel romances again. I think it's been close to 7 yrs since the last. I enjoyed the ARC to this so much that I can hardly wait for the next part.

I loved, loved, loved this story and I couldn't put it down. I thought M.S. Parker's depiction of 1960's Hollywood was fantastic, the characters were charming, decadent and thoroughly captivating.
I cannot wait for book 2 in The Glenn Jackson Saga.

Things are not always as they seem. The book starts off a little slow, but those details are needed as you move along. Glenn and Maya have instant chemistry, but she feels like Glenn is supposed to be with Florence. She quickly realizes that if you go back and change just one small detail, it throws off a whole lot of other stuff. Can’t wait to see what happens next.

I didn't expect much when I started reading this and I was surely surprised how much I enjoyed it. It's not your typical time travel romance, but it is awesome. It's a short story and addicting. I can't wait to read book 2, I'm going to dive into that next.
