The second gunshot was as loud as the first, reverberating in the tiny hotel room. Abdul watched in horror as his security guard who had opened the door crumple down on the floor. Two small holes blot red on his beige uniform. The body lay motionless. Dead. Abdul couldn’t see the assailant. He was in one corner of the hotel room and the half-open door blocked his view of the killer outside the door who had shot his guard. This also meant that the assailant hadn’t seen him. Yet. He only had a second before he too would be gunned down. Abdul’s eyes darted around the room searching for an escape route. The window. It was open. It was the only way. But he hesitated. “He should be in here.” He heard shouts beyond the door. Abdul glanced back. The assailant walked past the door. Abdul could see him now. A smoking 9mm was in his hand, the face masked by a black cloth. Only the eyes showed. Dark. Furious. Deadly. The killer’s gaze burned with such intensity, Abdul felt his soul shiver. “There.” More men poured into the room. All masked. All of them carried weapons. Abdul had seen enough. His decision was made. He turned and jumped through the open window. He fell through fifteen feet and landed on the snow-covered ground. His room was on the first floor of the hotel and the snow cushioned the impact of his fall. He was alive, but he wasn’t safe. Abdul scrambled to his feet and ran.

Good read

Another master piece..spoilers ahead..good storyline...all though it would have been nice if the epilogue was streched a little longer....and other charecters were given more representation...and more focus on the role of Israelis

Obviously fiction with less to reality but filled with thrill and a little suspense, but this is not how intelligence agencies and armies function. Rather a stunt towards achieving what we want to achieve and a little bit truth about Pakistan and it's deteriorating situation. You can read for once if you are into these kind of thrills!

What more can a reader ask. A perfectly crafted thriller. Each and every page that you turn create a curiosity inside your mind, nail biting suspense that made you wonder what was going to happen next. The deep research done by the author is clearly evident in the writings. Even though the book is a work of fiction, it clearly throws in some light to the struggles faced by these brave men, because of whom we get to enjoy a good sleep. Throwing multiple perspectives of the protagonists and antagonists gave the plot a different dimension. This book is a gentle reminder to all of us, whatever luxuries or comforts we enjoy are because of these unsung heroes who stay under the shade, away from spotlights, sacrificing their luxuries, so that we enjoy them. No bullets can touch a common man without passing through these brave men, a luxury we take for granted. This book is a must read for everyone.

Crisp language, intricately crafted plots and intriguing characters.
The author has really done inside and in-depth research to have written a book of this caliber. Moreover, he doesn't reveal all the cards at once. The way the loose ends come together one by one, the background stories of different characters and its build-up and the final storyline constituted of all these thrilling smaller parts is so amazing, that it's breath taking. The author knew exactly how and where he wanted his characters, and what roles they would play.

For a lot of moments, my heart was in my mouth, waiting for the characters to finally make it out. It also highlights the deep, saddening aspect of espionage; indispensable to a country's security, but provided by such dispensable assets.

The end was quite befitting, a little bit of a buzzkill, given the thrilling chapters preceding the end, but it was subtle, soothing and conclusive.

Unbelievable story yet, you don't want to miss!

A fiction with mixture of real time issues and past events with a believable touch of history of post freedom of India and Pakistan. I was craving for a action thriller of Indian military sleuths for quite some time .That feeling used get roused whenever I finished a fiction by western authors which is often as I am a voracious reader of thrillers.
Indo- Pakistan conflict is tried in a fitting manner and the way and speed the author takes us till the end is remarkable. No dull moment and he ensured a few twists in every chapter which keeps us in guessing and made us not able to put down till reaches the last of it.
I am sure that I must go for the next in the series

Action packed book. Eventful experience for the Indian audience by their very own Indian author. Amazing plot along with some great details of various technical specs about ammunition, anti missiles programs and spying technologies.
The description of the situation and the change of events will have your adrenaline rushing and then suddenly after the capture of the protagonists, you know they would find their way out and get the story rolling again.

Though defying death and all the odds seems a little superficial. The protagonists are luckier than anyone or anything happening around them.

I loved the fast pace at which the plot moves and the twists and turns in the story, though i was hoping it doesn’t turn out to be a jack bauer kind of protagonist who can come out of impossible situations without even a scratch.

At least a couple of times I felt a little more detail into the characters or the scene would have been great. Overall I loved my first indo pak thrillier.

I did feel there were logical plot holes and people in covert black ops, best in the country were shown taking stupid decisions.

Of late I have been reading a lot of spy thrillers about the india Pak axis. This book definitely ranks among the best of these.
Though a fiction the author included the entire theatre of Pakistan and Afghanistan, dropping in interesting snippets about the weapon systems, the organizations, places, terrorists etc.
In a covert op 4 Indian army soldiers enter Pakistan to neutralize their new nuclear missiles. Their journey through the hostile country is very eventful. At times events appear stretched but mostly the scenario is plausible.
I really enjoyed reading the book.

This is very fast paced spy thriller book. There are lots of twists in the tale. This is a book written in the backdrop of Subcontinent terrains and in particularly India Pakistan relationship. Writer did a good homework for the weapons and others defense equipment. Writer is able to glue the readers till the last moment. As there are lot of movies made and books written on this genre so many may find the events little predictable. Writer took the pain to overcome that with state of the art technology introduction and made the story floating like a leaf in the air.

Very fast paced thriller with twist after every few chapters. The story is nice but at various points the luck favoured the characters a lot. I also could not digest certain things like how can the characters just walk their way into an enemy submarine in their base by just talking their way.

Death of few spies was perhaps unnecessary.

Overall a nice casual read based on the modern conflicts and issues in the India-Pakistan region.

To get the backdrop clear, I have picked this after finishing entire Mitch Rapp, Scot Harvath & Pike Logan series till date which around 50 books in toto.. Naturally my expectations were higher..nevertheless the author didn't disappoint.. Wish the plot & characterisation was more deep instead of one or two paragraphs here n there.. More tongue in cheek dialogues & fine tuning would have made me give a 4star ..

Oh my God, this is amazing!

Rahul Badami is a relatively new name in the writing scene and I didn't expect much. However, this man nai this storyteller surprised me. He doesn't have the conventional writing method which I'm used to and he definitely doesn't believe in a nice orgasmic climax, but he can shake you to your core and I am looking forward to what he has in store next.
Kudos!

It started off well, has great twists and ends well. Something like a Hindi masala film, complete with spoes fighting bad men. A firm grasp over technology and weapons gives the story a realistic feel. You are put in the midst of it all and you can feel the terror the men feel. I felt the submarine op was wasteful and unnecessary. Otherwise, it is a good weekend read, helpful to take your mind off the lockdown.

The book didn’t quite grip my attention as I expected it to since it lacked conviction for me. The failures too stretched and too many, that they became a bit annoying, with too many characters to keep track of. Newer characters popped up even till the last couple of chapters. Also the quality of the print, font choice and shoddy editing with a few grammatical / spelling errors was putting off in this day and age. That’s a call-out to the publisher though — careful!

if a lot could go wrong on some wild special ops adventures, can good spin make them more right?

competitive generals, team rivalries, cool military toys, and things that go boom.

what more can an action fan need?

great fun with sarcastic rivalry dialogue.

Before I say anything else, the first few paras of the last chapter gave me goosebumps. Really.

The story is good, it's well written, you don't ever want to leave the book midway because there are so many scenes going on and you always want to know how they connect each other.

In short, it was thrilling and satisfactory.

Waiting for the sequel! Hope it's as good (at least) !

Fast paced special ops thriller. Thoroughly enjoyed!!!

It was definitely a brilliantly written thriller about black ops. But I felt they had too much good luck on their part to escape unhurt behind the enemy lines. But learned a lot about military protocols and jargon used. Awesome!!!

It was a fun book full of action. Liked the pace and storyline. But it felt too incredulous with so many difficult to believe surprises. There were too many coincidences by which the protagonists escape. But overall enjoyed the book.

Fantastic and engrossing read.

It's a true and compelling page turner. Truly spell bound with the story line. However a little too much of luck with black ops team was a put off at times

Gripping read

The story was thoroughly gripping. Although one would assume that the protagonists would come out on the top, the book does keep you on the toes to understand how it would happen.

A small and interesting read. The author has made sure that the reader is engaged from the start to finish. Though sometimes it seems like a typical 'action movie', on the whole this is really a good read !

Was very fast paced which is good, and the story was interesting and was well paced but you could make out Badami is new to writing spy thrillers. I'm sure his next work will be ever better, he is writing a sequel to this. I look forward to reading it.
