THE ULTIMATE CHOICE

The most important thing in Gemini Anderson’s life is her job.

That is, until her world is turned upside down by a group of highly evolved beings deciding they know what’s best for the human race.

Gemini, the only one with the ability to interact with them, has to stop them from destroying the world.

To do so, she has to navigate the civil war of a species she doesn’t even belong to while simultaneously juggling trials from her own world.

Gemini is faced with a choice: be rational, use logic, and make a risky gamble that could potentially give humans an evolutionary leg up, or trust her instinct, trust in people, and trust in the man she loves, one of the very beings trying to change the fate of her world.

Dualistic Dimensions by Oliver R. Cohen is the first book in a new science-fiction romance series. The book is written in first-person and is from the point-of-view of a woman named Gemini Anderson, a Marketing Director in Chicago. Growing up she was the weird girl who saw too much and felt too much, always different from her peers. Because her perception of things is different than others’, Gemini is able to see things other people can't and this lands her in the middle of another dimension's civil war.

This book is well-written, flows well, and has an interesting plot. The story is sci-fi with plenty of mystery and a nice little romance thrown in. It doesn't end with what I would exactly call a cliff-hanger ending, but it does stop in a place you will definitely want to know what happens next.

Recommended to fans of Sci-fi Romances with a hint of mystery

Summary:
Received for an honest review.

To everyone she knows Gemini is totally dedicated to her job and will do whatever she can to excel, but at what cost? Unknown to Gemini she has had dreams all of her life that she has no waking memory of until she once again meets this mysterious man. Imagine seeing people that no one else sees and watching time stop would make anyone think that they were going mad and that is only the beginning of what lies in store for Gemini as her story unfolds. I for one was immediately drawn into Gemini's story, but the outcome was beyond anything I could have ever imagined. This may be the first book I have read by this author and it won't be the last. This is an incredible ride form start to finish.

Gemini Anderson looked at the people around the conference table, preparing to review her vision for the future of their company. Already Mr. Tanaka was impatient to get started. If she convinced him and got the advertising contract, being his campaign manager, it would be worth millions. The presentation went very well, and she went out for a walk to relax. She noticed someone nearby who seemed frozen in place. Then she realized he actually was frozen – not breathing or moving. All activity around her had stopped! Even birds in the sky were frozen in flight! This had to be a dream, right? Then something touched her shoulder and she felt a burning, intense pain. Life around her started up again. When she went into a restroom to check the cause of her pain, she saw a handprint!

At dinner with her boss to celebrate the day’s success, Gemini heard scratching on the table when her boss stepped away briefly. There was a message scratched in the surface saying, “Don’t trust him”. And as they left, a shadow on the wall seemed to move toward her then disappeared. No, this was real and not a dream! What was happening?

This was a really interesting approach to the story line. We are given a mystery but, like the main character, the reader has no additional information to figure out what is going on. Forgotten dreams resurface. As the story unfolds, the author introduces the concept of different dimensions and many choices and difficult decisions will need to be made. I enjoyed the book and definitely recommend it to others. It was different and intriguing. I would love to read more from this author!

What a cool yet different story. I thought the blurb sounded interesting and I was not disappointed. It was full of twists that kept me glued to the story and kept me guessing about what was really going on and who were the good guys and who the bad guys were. I thought the story was a mix of a bit of a thriller/mystery and a large side of scifi. I received a free copy and I chose to write a review that basically states that I really liked the story. I read it in one setting as I really had to know what was going on. I also found it to be a very clean story to read too. A good story to read from a new author that I will have to keep on my authors to read list.

Well then. This was a very fast-paced read that had my heart racing at the end. Readers view a civil war that spans multiple dimensions, and we learn about it along with our main character.

This is a sci-fi novel that also takes on a psychological aspect at times. It was intriguing to read about this author's interpretation of multiple dimensions and the impact the beings from other worlds can cause.

This book was so hard to put down. Especially with two chapters to go and places to be. I can't wait to read more from this author.

Disclaimer: I received an ARC of this novel in exchange for an honest review

Interesting take on mystery and sci-fi that kept you glued to the book until the end. You also didn't know which reality was real, who to trust and who the bad guys were. There was a few small paranormal elements like her psychic visions and the shadows which helped make the book a bit darker. The only thing is the character development could have been a bit better. The main character at times seemed aloof with the oddities occurring. Based on content this book is for mature audience's. I am an independent reviewer for Romance Author's That Rock and give this book 4.5 Hearts.

I read this book for a honest review.

I feel that this book is about choices that everyone have to make in life. Do we sit back and let the actions of others (in this case dimensional characters) summarize are existence or do we open our eyes to see what's really going on and fight for what we believe is truth. With the characters that Cohen brought to life we see that fighting evolution come to life.

Sci-Fi Mystery
Something a bit different - a well-plotted mystery/sci-fi blend with intriguing characters. The main character, Gemini, lives for her job. Until her life-long weirdness enables her to see and interact with people from another dimension. I highly recommend this book and look forward to more from this author. I received an ARC of this book and this is my voluntary review.

"He didn't move, he didn't breathe, his hair didn't even move when the wind picked up. That was when I realized the rest of the world had stopped moving, too. We were right in the middle of downtown Chicago, but there were no movements and no sounds except for the beating of my own heart"

That paragraph right there is what hooked me to this story and I wanted to continue reading. I finished this book the same day I started it and I really wished it was much longer so I could continue the journey further and with more detail.
I received a complimentary ARC of this book to read in exchange for an honest review. I liked this alter-dimensional story and the only downside is it was too short and in some parts felt rushed, like it needed a little more back story added (they have been interacting for 15 years) it is described as a Science Fiction Romance but the connection between the main characters is just not there.
