I think people should be wary of naming anything "new" if they want it to age well, but considering how little is written about expressive arts, it will likely be around for a while. I appreciated that there were actually useful chapters on EXA in education, which is sadly severely lacking in other texts, and, when it is included, usually connects only to counselors working with young people.
