Jane's story continues in this sexy and thrilling second book in the Jane Thornton Trilogy... STARVED!
After weeks without any sign of Kaden, Jane and Annabelle fall into a routine. They have a roof over their heads in a home that is secluded and well-protected from flesh eaters, and hunting for supplies has been easy enough. By all accounts, they are safe. Until Jane realizes they aren't as isolated as she wanted to believe.
Warning: This is book two in a ménage trilogy and may end in a cliffhanger. This book contains strong sexual content, violence, and adult language. Not suitable for readers under the age of 18.
Starved is the next incredibly riveting book in C.E. Black's Jane Thornton series and is more exhilarating than Hunger! The characters are wonderful, the story is remarkable and the action is intensified by a million. This is clearly not your typical post-apocalyptic romance but that makes it fresh and ultimately rare. I feel like I was kept plenty on my toes, and every time my heart felt like it was slowing down, it would kick right back up again because of the intensity of the read. And when our bad-ass heroine finds her heroes again things heat up to LAVA HOT once again.
The romance is highly stunning, sexy as all get out, and the action is top notch. Its dark world but with our two heroes and our one tough as nails heroine and her amazing sidekick friend, its makes for a seriously addictive read! C.E. Black is a terrific writer! She created a highly uncommon romantic suspense that is full of surprises and twists in a dark world that can both be intense and wonderfully arousing.
Starved is such a STUNNING read. Its unlike anything I have read and I am equal parts fascinated, and equal parts thrilled. The ending left me hanging and wanting the next part because I NEED to know what happens next. You can't get more intense than that and I am excited. I give Starved an UNBELIEVABLE FIVE SHOOTING STARS!
DNF about 62% in. First book was decent, this one the characters' actions don't make much sense. And I know friends/lovers are hard to come by in the zombie apocalypse, but dang, Jane needs better ones who don't jerk her around and treat her like crap.
So this was a good second edition to this end of the world romance, zombies and menages what more could a girl want. So Mr review of the first book I said there was a possibly heartbreaking situation on the horizon i hoped took a turn for the better; good news it did mostly. I won't go into detail about the situation so not to ruin anything but all I can say is stay the course and ride it out if you get scared. The sexy times in this book varied some situation were a more fade to black description and some were more detailed. So while there romance and passion in this series there is still A plot with action and suspense a plenty. Now for me while this book was good it felt like a bandaid for the ouch of the first book. Kind of like it you had a cut you put a bandaid on but by the end of the book the bandaid was gone and your left wondering if that cut will get infected, heal with a scar or heal completely leaving no trace. I'm hoping it heals with no trace and we get an HEA but I guess we'll see. Overall a good book with a good balance of variety to the story, that keeps you guessing; would recommend.
This book starts a short while after book 1 finished, Jane is with Anna at the stronghold....
How to review this without spoilers........ is difficult, but here goes!
Jane and Anna have developed a firm friendship, they both work hard keeping the place secure and scouting for supplies, trying to avoid the flesh eaters. The flesh eaters creep me out, but the book isn't full of them they are part of the story, but a lot is the relationship development of the characthers.
Talking characthers we get to meet other survivors in this part, I liked Aiden, not so sure about the other lot - they seemed too perfect for me.
Jane is feisty, she may not be able to speak but she knows how to get her point across - she gets to show how pissed she is, that is until she melts into a man's arms, it gets deliciously steamy on more than a few occasions.
With Jane not speaking, it took me a few pages to get into that flow again, but once I started I wasn't stopping until I finished and that was 1 am. Was I happy with ending of book 2? Well, I want book 3 now!
Jane. Poco and Annabelle have landed and made themselves at home as Jane still waits for Kaden. The two ladies and their helpful pooch have made themselves very comfy and have their lives and schedules set up when their peace is unsettled by a few changes. But there are surprises and twist that changes things. Save lives or run as Jane is accused of doing. Jane keeps her back bone and shows she truly is tough as nails, Annabelle too. A few surprises for the ladies before this book is done and plenty of excitement. Funny that I am not a fan of zombies but I can't get enough of this series.
Love this author no matter which name she writes under. Great stuff I can hardly wait for more.
I like the storyline and it’s uniqueness of the Jane Thornton trilogly, the characters are intriguing and interesting, I like following their story of how they survive with a zombie apocalypse. With this being the second book of the Jane Thornton trilogly I was hoping for more information of each of the characters. Whilst we did get a little more info about who Jane, Mason and Kaden were before the world got overrun by zombies I would have like more about who they and more world building. Now with saying that I am enjoying reading this and will continue with book 3 as I am interested to see how everything will workout with Jane, Mason and Kaden.
Starved begins where Hunger left off. There is a bit of angst covering the first half of the book which left me unsettled. However, with the entry of two characters the angst lifted. I love the way Jane, Mason, and Kaden are together. I love Annabelle's loyalty to Jane. Aidan is a bit of a mystery which only leaves me suspicious even though he's done nothing bad to Annabelle or Jane. Starved ends in a frustrating manner however the third book is out so no waiting for answers. Starved is a great continuation of Jane's story.
Novella. Not a book it was too short. Easy read. Not bad. But I just read a book that had 112 sighs' in it and my patience is short. This novella full of sighs' didn't help. If the novella had length and more action? Drama? it would have more stars. Jane forgave too easily and the ' I love you's ' are flying around. I had the issue of there not being any background on the main characters and that was remedied so I'm happy about that.
Damn this trilogy is entertaining! I love all the action & adventure. You never know what's coming but you know it's gonna hook you from the beginning.
I'm gonna be honest though, I thought Jane was a bit too forgiving and should've made the guys work a little harder because they really hurt her. Though the sex was hot it was a bit too rushed and lacking of detail for my liking
All I’m going to say is that this is a great story I’m really looking forward to the next book of this series because I got to know what happens to Jane and the rest of the gang. So yes I most definitely recommend you read this book but start with Hunger first that way you won’t have any confusion.
I started book 1 and found a plot full of twisting, passion, humor and thoroughly enjoyable. Now book 2 still keeping me enthralled. You'll thoroughly enjoy! Need book 3 ASAP :)
This was a great second book. I like that there was more zombie action, a new threat, and more steam. The author really has me hooked on these characters and I can’t wait to read the last book. Hopefully it comes out sooner rather then later. 4 Stars #2OCCJD
I enjoyed reading this book. The first one was an interesting read, so I got this when I saw it and read it all in one sitting.. I was extremely happy with the surprise in this one.. I am looking forward to book 3..
This was a erotica set in a zombie apocalypse. Normally I would be down for that but the plotline was weak and Jane made some stupid choices. None of the characters are fleshed out very well, the guys are just words on paper.
Enjoyed the 2nd book and looking forward to the last. If I imagine myself as Jane in these situations I probably would react the same. Although if it were real I would probably have already been killed off.
Mason, Kayden and Jane finally found each other again and now Annabelle Aiden and Poco are added to their crew. Mason left on his self sacrificing mission and the rest of gone to track him down
Love how the story continued and CE allows us to get to know the characters more. The love story for Jane and Mason/Kaden is wonderful. I can not wait for book 3.
