I love writing adult paranormal fiction. Vampires, werewolves, ghosts... oh my. I've been writing since I was 11 but I've always been a dreamer... often getting caught staring off into space as I created stories in my mind.
One of my stories, Night Walker (Undeadly Secrets Series Book 1), won the 2017 Golden Stake Award at the International Vampire Film and Arts Festival held in Transylvania annually. I'm still quite chuffed about walking away with it after facing some great contenders.
Currently there are 6 books in the Undeadly Secrets Series, 3 books in the Undisputed (MMA Romance) series and 2 Independents short stories plus a brand new series beginning with Owned By The Mafia, released in 2023
I'm so proud of the fact both Undisputed and Unbroken both won the same award a year apart from each other. *TOP 50 INDIE BOOKS OF THE YEAR*
My favourite activities include spending time with family, watching my beloved St George Illawarra Dragons, popping into the movies for the latest blockbusters, going to the gym for my dream body. Or just a body. Anything, really.
Speerzie... book daddy. Baby daddy x 2. Simply irresistible
If I could sum up this volume in one word… In-freaking-tense!! So much was going on, so many new twists were revealed, so many new threads I’m sure will one day be followed, so many fun times, blood, mayhem, the usual. It was absolute madness and I loved it!!
The first little bit was slow as the author sort of recapped the big event from the previous book and introduced a new angle to the story - Sovereign. At first I was like, “Who are these people?” Then I was like, “I wish I didn’t know.” You’ll see. I can see the drama to come from way back here. It’s gonna be insane! The story does pick up soon after and it was amazing! Alex has no memories of Dante or her ordeal shortly before her memory loss and is paying the price for her amnesia. It wasn’t looking pretty for this poor girl. Luckily, everyone had her back. I’m still not happy about the potential romance with Michelle (and it may drive me away with how ridiculous it is), but I do admire the heck out of their friendship. At least Alex’s story didn’t remain stagnant. She learns about her true path and her destiny and while the lead up to her discovery was emotional, arduous and fulfilling, I felt that in the end it lacked a bit in the follow through. Her battle scene was short-lived and lackluster. But that’s just me. Thankfully, there was plenty of action to found elsewhere.
Dante… Gosh, this man/vamp has never had it easy and now he’s faced with a frustrating problem. He’s effed if he does and effed if he doesn’t. He’s intent on protecting those he loves, but at what price? Is the cost too steep, even for him? While his time in this book was short, it was still compelling and played a huge part in the end result. Oh and don’t even get me started on the problems with the wolf packs. Nick’s uncle needs to personally experience the nine circles of hell for the atrocities he’s willing to inflict on people. He’s a freaking monster. Is it bad that I’m also in awe of his audacity? On one hand I’m appalled at his behavior but at the same time, I’m intrigued. Anyhoo, Talia and Alicia were still working together which was so amazing to see. I love their connection. And then when my beloved wolf appears from the dead? Ah, Nick can do NO wrong!!
Honestly, there is so much to find in this book. So many characters involved, so many plot twists and turns, so much to still discover. However, the one character, aside from Nick, who really gets my appreciation, love and affection is… Lee Nightingale. O-M-G!! This man!! I tell ya, there’s never a dull moment with this man around. I don’t know what or who he is yet, but I’m definitely sticking around to find out. He’s virtually indestructible, stronger than anyone else on the planet, and his sense of humor is out of this world! He’s inappropriate, lustful, hungry, and always up for a good time. You know, if a good time includes sex and the annihilation of nations lol!!
You’ve just secured the services of the Scarlet Fiend. The Blood Hound. The Big Dog. Penetrator of Poon. Licker of Labias. Connoisseur of Cunnilingus. The Twelve-Incher Rib Tickler. Magician of Mounting…
Lee Nightingale. Big Dog. The Scarlet Fiend. Leenatic Leader. Destroyer of Derrieres. Banger of Babes. Pounder of Pussy. Attache of Ass.
Do you know I fought an anaconda once? Took me forty-five minutes to realise I was wanking. But, I digress.
The much anticipated fourth book of this series. I have been waiting so patiently for, was in my hot little hands and I couldn’t wait to dive in.
I don’t know who I was most looking forward to Alexandra, Melina, Michelle, Dante, Nick, Nicole, the baby, Alicia, or my Nightingale… Ok who am I kidding it was Nightingale and I was not disappointed. He is still as funny, feisty and witty as he was from book three.
A lot of questions we were left in book 3 they were answered and a lot of loose ends and storylines were cleared up. This made me happy, I hate waiting for everything to come together but the way Speer’s writes I feel ok with waiting… Sometimes. ;)
The story was a little slow in the beginning for me, but once I hit just before half point that was where the story took off and I couldn’t put it down. Dante has some really hard choices to make. Alex is going through a tough time, her memory issues are coming at her full force. Michelle is the friend to end all friends… Maybe I am picking up on a little love connection. Who knows I think only time will tell.
I have to say when push comes to shove Lee aka The Scarlet Fiend, The Blood Hound, The Big Dog, Penetrator of Poon, Licker of … ok, ok you get it. Well, he might just surprise you and make you laugh out loud, swoon a little and even scratch your head but again these are all the reasons why I LOVE him. I want to know more about his past though we learn little snippets and it only makes me want to know more about him.
Overall there are surprises, truths revealed, and mysteries still yet to be answered this is only one of the many reasons I like this series you can’t wait for the next book.
Ok, I have to put at least 1 of my Leeism out there… are you ready for this...
“Made me feel as welcome as a fart in a spacesuit…” Ok one more... “I’m the most honest cunt you’ll meet Fido.”
Until the next one!
*You don't have to like my review but its 100% my opinion, and I am allowed to have it.*
Pack Master is book four of the Undeadly Secrets series and picks up where the last book ended. It cannot be read as a standalone.
The city of Sydney is in crisis. It’s covered by a black cloud that continues to grow and invade causing eternal night. Erratic behaviors are taking over and desperatio reigns. There also seems to be a new force in town, a government sect known simply as Sovereign. Their knowledge of the supernatural is concerning and Dante is once again being forced to make impossible decisions to keep the city and those he cares for safe from harm.
Alex has no recollection of her ordeal and wakes up with no memories of Dante. She is leaning on Michelle for strength as she tries to resume her life, but slowly begins learning that everything is not as she recalls. The more she learns, the more she begins to learn just what her role is in saving and protecting the city she calls home. Will it be enough to to destroy the evil blanketing the city or will Sydney be lost forever?
Meanwhile, in England, Alicia Slade is on a mission to save her grandson and the child’s human mother who were stolen by an enemy alpha. The baby is being used in experiments to create a more powerful wolf since the baby is an 11th generation alpha. Alicia will need to face incredible odds as she seeks out allies to aid her in taking back what is hers.
Nick also awakens from a coma that has lasted months to find out Nicole was pregnant. He forms an unlikely alliance on his quest to get to and protect his family. Will he find them in time, or will it be too late?
This book - AHHHH! It’s truly been a long time since one book was able to take me through so many emotions. I was kind of angry and sad and left oddly satisfied and nervous feeling at the events that lead up to the ending of this book. The author truly puts his characters through so much that we start to experience and feel everything they do.
In the vampire world, Dante always seems to have the weight of the world on his shoulders and this book is no different. His decisions affect so many characters that it took me a long time to process how things were left at the end of the book, especially Melina. We also discover Alex’s birthright in this story and just how strong she can be. This was a complete gem! And, much to my enjoyment, we see more of Lauren and Clive . . I love this little secret romance and was thrilled to see the attention Aaron L. Speer gave them! Lee Nightingale is also back to provide plenty of violence, comedic one liners and sexual innuendos!
As for the wolves, Alicia Slade is a completely kick-a$$ alpha in her own right. She is not going to let anything stand between her and her grandchild. I love the relationship she forms with Nicole as they hunt for the infant as well as her alliance with Talia. These woman refuse to back down from a fight and I love it! Nick is also back in this book, and he’s ready to claim his family and will die to save them if necessary. Possibly the best part of this book, however, is the unlikely alliance formed between two males that should be enemies but are drawn together to save a child.
This book is action packed and never stops pushing forward. It’s thrilling and emotional and has more plot twists than a maze! This series offers readers a truly unique take on paranormal romance and should not be missed as each book pulls you in further and further into this crazy world that Aaron L. Speer has created. 5 stars!
Overall this series is alright and the author is one I'll keep an eye on. I see potential
I promise I'm not damning it with faint praise. There was an ongoing issue of overambitious plotting that didn't really work for me. I love reading big and new ideas. I don't necessarily need to read allll the big and new ideas compressed into one series.
I'll explain my thoughts...
There are some truly original and fresh ideas throughout Undeadly Secrets that went largely ignored or buried under too many competing storylines and an excess of dialogue* **. Instead of an exploration of an idea or twist, the reader(me) is almost immediately tossed into a new scene or idea disconnected from the previous scene. While I thought the pace of each book was great and something many new-ish authors seem to struggle with(kudos btw) there was a definite lack of character arc and plot development. By the end of the 4th book I still had no good idea why Alex and Dante are considered the main protagonists or even central characters "meant to be" when they share so few scenes throughout the series. Even Dante's final scene lacked something. Mainly Alex's presence. So calling this series romance isn't accurate. It's paranormal fiction with a few sex scenes and any PNR reader will be a bitter kitten if they are looking for romance. There's an exuberant lack of discipline in the storytelling style that is a bit charming at first, but charm neither anchors a story, nor give it legs. The introduction of werewolves in the second book(or very end of the first) was all well and good, but I felt I was reading two completely different series all wrapped up into one. In fact, I would have preferred reading them as two distinct series with some light crossover as they share a universe. Not many compelling plot points, but definitely a universe.
So. Will I read this author again? Absolutely. I know talent and better than average writing when I read it. Would this author become a one-click for me? Maybe. With some discipline and editing I could see it happening
Added observation: I think this author could probably write a screenplay I'd be happy to watch
* So much talking. So much dialogue. So much telling and not enough showing. **Again with the Aussie speak. I know Aussies probably love it, but for a non-Aussie it was at times a struggle.
Ok I did not really see the ending like it was. I love/hate this series. Just when I was warming up to Dante, everything changes! No I won’t give spoilers but I will say, I still love my Nick & you can’t help but Love Lee! Would love to hear more of his past & see someone settle him down some.... maybe Alex is his calm!😂
Woowee!!! Another heart pounding read from this author. I’m not sure how to review it properly with out the risk of spoiling the first 3 books so we will talk about all the feelings that this book made me feel.
First, I laughed. I laughed at the antics of some of the characters and how the characters interact with eachother.
I cried. There were many times that my soul was hurting. From Alex to Dante, to Alicia and Nicole. The author put me in these characters lives and I felt what they felt.
Anger. That one was the hardest. Some things didn’t go the way we picture them to. I was angry for the injustice that some of these characters had to go through to get to the end.
Hope. This was the big one. So many times I thought things were going to one way and then it changed and my heart wasn’t scared any more.
Happiness. There were so many times my heart beat faster in happiness and I couldn’t keep the smile off my face. Wether it was from the Reunion of characters, or just how some characters bring happiness.
Excitement because there were some amazing action scenes. I love action and this author really knocked it out of the ball back when it kept me I grossed in those scenes.
Awe. The author shocked me so many times when it came to the plot, the character development, the character interaction, and all the new things that game in this book. Things you wouldn’t even think would be added and they worked amazingly!
Wonder. I can’t help but be more excited for the next book that is to come. With the ending of this book, The author could go in so many directions, and I am super excited to see what direction he takes it.
That pretty much sums up the majority of my feelings when reading this book. I will say that I fleeted through all of them numerous times before I got to the end of the story. If you want paranormal at its finest. Then start with Night Walker and you won’t be sorry! 5 Stars #2OCCJD
I absolutely love this series! I’m a huge fan of this author. In book 4 Alex wakes up in the hospital. Her memory is wonky and she knows Michelle is lying about something. Will she get her memories back? Will she remember a certain someone?
Lauren Gods I loved her in this book. After officially hating her for the last 3 books, she now one of my favorites. Nick oh nick sweet sweet nick, good gravy how much does one wolf have to endure. Nicole and his baby and his parents! Alicia will always be a favorite of mine she’s a bad mamma jammer. I seriously love her!!! And Lee! I laughed so hard at his lines. I highlighted so many of his words lol And I can’t believe I’m going say this but Melina is starting grow on me. Until the end and well all I have to say is... THE AUTHOR BETTER NOT HAVE KILL THIS CERTAIN CHARACTER!!! Seriously if you like vampires, werewolves and other supernatural creatures and you like a different take on vampires CHECK THIS SERIES OUT!!
Dante, Lee, and Nick lead the way as the sexiest male characters ever written! If I had to choose one, I'd choose Dante to take me out to dinner, Lee as an exercise partner, and Nick to keep me company at night. Okay, so that's one at a time, but who cares about the details. Seriously though, these guys are so much fun to read about! You'll get hooked on at least one of them.
Alex really is the star of this book and she's such an intense character. Sometimes she's sweet, sometimes sassy, but always fighting for what's good and right. I'm really hoping that she gets her happy ending at some point. A scene with her, Michele, and Dante is way overdue!
Have I convinced you yet to stop reading reviews and read the book already?! It's worth every penny so go ahead and splurge!
Thank you Aaron. While the adventure continues and some new unanswered questions, I loved how you tied everything up in this book. While I think Lee is a douche, he had me rolling attimes some of his lines. This is a must read for fans of Aaron's work. Very curious to see where you take us next. Well done mate!
Pack Master is book four of the Undeadly Secrets series and picks up where the last book ended. I love how the series is based in Sydney Australia. And Sydney is in crisis. Loved the world the author has created. I both laughed and cried. Laughed at the characters and their interactions and Cried - was gut wrenching. Well done and highly recommend.
I just love how this story turned out except for a major loss. I was surprised at how things turned out for Alex and Alicia. I love this series so much.
After I finished reading this book, I stared at the ceiling in silence for a good ten minutes. I don’t know how many more books my poor emotions can take. This is one of the best paranormal action/drama/romance series I’ve read in quite some time.
So let me start off on a funny note by highlighting a quote from the book that literally made me snort out loud while reading (at 1:00am, no less).
“Lee hit the cockpit with a thud and while holding onto the support frame of the cracked plexiglass, he knocked on it. ‘G’day a$$hole!’ he called delightedly. ‘Do you have a moment to talk about our lord and saviour?’”
I. LEGIT. LOST. IT. Lee Nightingale is quite possibly my favorite character in the entire series. He is freaking hilarious and we see another side of him, too, which was unexpected. Looking back, most of my text highlights were the hilarious phrases and general craziness spewing out of his mouth. He is fascinating. And vulgar. And amazing. And like a freaky phoenix. And totally hot. But I digress.
This story again picks up where book three left off and focuses on two parallel themes with some ancillary stories running alongside. We see what all Nick (oh poor Nick! I 🖤 him so much. He is the ultimate alpha and Alpha) has to endure on his quest to try to find his family, and the hell his family goes through at the hands of a maniacal tyrant Alpha. We also learn more about the evil that threatens to consume Sydney and how Alex is put to the test. While Alex deals with many challenges, Michelle is there through it all, yet again, like a lovesick groupie. Incidentally, I wanted to swat her away (like a beetle 🤭). Rude of me? Yes. Unwarranted? Perhaps. But I just wanted to stomp my foot and throw a temper tantrum once or twice while reading. I say that because the writing is such that I feel a connection with these characters, as if I know them personally and want what’s best for them. And Michelle is not what’s best for Alex, IMHO. I’m a little too hard on her. 🤓
My other favorite character in the series is Dante (okay, let’s be real. I love Dante, Lee, and Nick equally for different reasons. I have three favs, apparently). All the feels for him. The man has looked out for humans for years, been beaten up, prevailed, beaten again, chose love, and then had to make the ultimate emotional sacrifice in book three. Now here we see the aftermath and it’s heartbreaking. Utterly rip-your-heart-out, please-someone-help-the-vamp-find-some-happiness, heartbreaking.
This book will keep you on the edge of your seat and guessing. Good luck trying to figure it all out ahead of time. Will evil prevail? Guess you’ll have to read on and find out. The current story, writing style, and overarching story arc, are superb. Now excuse me while I try to piece my heart back together. Well played, Speer. Well-effing-played. 🖤
With the fourth installment of the Undeadly Secrets series, Aaron L. Speer had the monumental task of bring together several story lines. Alex and what she was becoming, Dante and how he will handle Julian, Nick's return, Nicole and the baby, Alicia, Talia, the outrageous Lee and what he really is and of course, the ominous black cloud hanging over Sydney. Pack Master has a lot of questions to answer and, with some blazing action, it does. Then it does a 180 and brings new ones into play.
Speer skillfully takes all the threads and weaves them into an action packed, secret revealing, hero creating tale that will make fans of the series very happy. Jumping between parallel happenings, each chapter brings the reader closer to a shocking ending. Along the way, there is some laugh out loud moments, courtesy of resident wise ass, Lee Nightingale, some eerie cave meetings for Alex, revenge for Dante and peace for everyone else, for now.
A thoroughly enjoyable addition for this well done series.
Yes!! That's correct!!! Book Four is Live!!! After the way Book Three finished (nah, not telling you!!) I really needed this and oh my days the author did not disappoint! The twists and turns made my head spin, there is so much going on that my head and my heart didn't know which way was up....but in a totally good way! Pack Master picks up where Shadow Chaser finished, a dark ominous cloud has Sydney in its grip and nobody seems to know why......or do they? I don't know what else to say without giving anything away! I will say that I could not put it down, I cried ugly on more than one occasion and I mean UGLY CRY! And yes! I admit it! The Big Dog got me! Buckle up buttercups, it's about to get bumpy!! So please, if you have read the first three in this series, you have to read this!
WOW!! How does this author suck you in so hard with this series?? If you haven't read Night Walker, Day Dreamer or Shadow Chaser STOP and go back and read those first!!! This book will have you sitting up all hours of the night frantically reading, screaming at your device, throwing it across the room only to run over and rescue it praying you haven't broken anything, laughing like a lunatic, crying tears of joy, cheering for your team, astounded by selflessness, and lastly dying for more! So many secrets are revealed, other hinted at, clues dropped, epic battles, friendship between the least likely of people, enemies revealed OMG there is sooo much!!! If you do one thing for yourself this year, its get into The Undeadly Secrets Series, you really won't be disappointed!
>Book Review – Pack Master >I am an independent reviewer. This book is the 4th in the Undeadly Secrets series. Alex and Dante are apart in this book. She cannot remember him. She does learn about her legacy, which came out of nowhere and was a bit ridiculous. Nick is back. There is a lot of gore and battles as the wolves fight each other. >The story is really sad. Dante turns vigilante and stops caring. Lee Nightengale is a much needed source of humor. His nicknames for himself are really funny. He has a backstory that isn’t revealed, but there are clues that it involves a baby. Michelle and Alex still have that weird chemistry that is not satisfying at all. >This book is appropriate for an adult audience. I am giving this book 3 stars. The ending was not an HEA. I hate that.
I don't even know where to start with this book, I have waited so long to get my hands on it and when I finally did, I could not put it down. I have read it twice now and still get the same emotions and feels the second time that I got the fist time (and I knew what was coming)! We get back who we lost and in a big way. Some secondary characters make a huge impact and some main characters we may have to let go. This author is amazing at taking you right were you think things are going and at the last minute flip it all around and shock and awe you in a whole other way! This book will keep you on your toes and sucked into the story from page 1 to the very end. This series is a must read!
EPIC, EPIC READ!!! You have to have read the previous 3 books before you start this. The first 3 books in the series were brilliant! But Pack Master? This blew them out of the water and I didn't think that was possible! We've had heroes, heroines, and the downright evil. Potions, lotions, magic and paranormal. Heroes I fell in love with and, well, heroines I wished I could be as the heroes were so awesome and drool worthy. For me, Lee Nightingale went from arse to goddamed hero and I laughed until I cried at his antics. This story is packed with so many spectacular scenes and characters that you really MUST READ THIS SERIES and I cannot wait for the next book!!!
WOW. I haven't seen a series get to book 4 and not get even a little stale. This guy waits until you're just about sure you're set in your feelings for a character then BOOM. Just kidding, you don't know what to think anymore. I thought for sure this was going to contain at least 3 eye rolls as everyone wrapped up into a HEA or some sort of comic relief. I'm an idiot. I think I have more questions than answers but some of the things I learned in this book take the characters to a whole new level. And as always with this writer I'm eternally grateful for the Wikipedia function on my kindle because I've learned so much since starting this series.
read it love it and then reread it. you will start to love characters you didn't even like and you're going to love Nick and Lee and it's just amazing you have to read it if you haven't read it read it right now click the buy button do it.
hot guys ✔ action ✔ unexpected events ✔ 100% awesomeness ✔ Seriously funny pickup line comments ✔
if this book was a man he'd meet all your check points
loved it already read it twice ❤ Great job Aaron!!
I've been waiting on this book for what seems like forever. After reading Shadow Chaser and finding out Nick wasn't dead after all. I couldn't wait to get stuck into this book and I wasn't disappointed. Packed full of action you simply can't put this down I devoured this story. My heart did break at one point of the story. I'm living in hope that all is not what it seems 😏 I can't wait to see what happens next. If you love paranormal then this is definitely a must read.
I was so happy when I got this book to read, I love this author's work and I was not disappointed with this one. I had a hard time putting this one down and stayed up way to late to finish it last night. With this one I felt so m any different emotions ranging from furious, laughing, crying and just every other emotion you could imagine. I love all the characters and the interactions between them. This is a series you really need to read!!
This is the fourth book in the series. With this one it is needed to read them in order to know what is going on. This book picks up right where book 3 left off. You get some of the answers you were looking for in the other books. Others left you with more questions. While reading this book you will run alot of different emotions. From laughing happy to ugly tears. It has it all. The entire series is well worth a read.
Well Mr. Speer does it again he sucks me into this PNR story with amazing characters and I forget I normally don't read PNR. However, with each one of these books in the Undeadly Secrets Series I have become more fascinated with his writing and his characters. Mr. Speer has made me like a genre that I normally stay away from.
OMG one of the best series ever, I love it. Could not put it down and had to read it twice. I adore Lee he is a crazy crazy character and oh so steamy. All the characters in this story are fun and connectable. I laughed, I yelled, I cursed and cried reading this book, it gave me all the feels.
Book four is a ride... Action packed, twists and flips. Heartache, pain, violence, and bravado. This book will take you from tears of laughter to wanting to throttle the maker..its undoubtedly fantastic!
Book 4 in the Undeadly Secrets series, and wow is there a lot going on in this one, so many twists and turns it will give you whiplash!
A dark and sinister cloud is taking over Sydney blocking out all the light making it into an eternal night. This is having and causing some major effects and some nightmarish creatures are about, and the city is in chaos.
Dante is broken after what he had to do to save Alex in the last book, he seems to have lost his way after opening up and admitting his feelings for her only to have her ripped away from him. But he has revenge on his mind and sets about dealing with everyone that hurt Alex. A new government organisation called Sovereign comes to Dante with an offer, but are they friend or foe?
Alex has no memories of Dante now and relies heavily on Michelle to fill in the blanks in her memory, but things don't seem to match up and has some strange powers within her, all which point to her being something other than human, destined to be the one to help save the city from the darkness.
In England Alicia is determined to get her grandson back from the evil clutches of Nick's uncle, who is using the baby as a weapon with him being a 11th generation alpha wolf. Even as a babe in arms this little one has some major powers! Nicole wants nothing more than to have her son back, but it seems Nick's uncle has more in store for her... a breeding program! Nick's uncle is a tyrant of mega proportion, having stockpiled an enormous amount of weapons and vehicles ready for a war, he wants to be the leader of all the wolf packs, and is willing to do whatever it takes to get there, including experimenting on the baby!
Nick is back in this one, having been in the hospital in a coma for months, he finds out Nicole is pregnant with his child and does everything he can to get to England to find her. But he needs some assistance along the way, in the unlikely form of Lee Nightingale!! Honestly I have no words for him, he is a fabulous character, brash, no holds barred, no filter, full of himself, but with good reason.... he is the strongest of all the vampires with an unprecedented ability to heal almost immediately. He made me chuckle many times with his wit and banter!! He turns out to be the key player in the battle in England.
A brilliant read, with non-stop action from start to finish, lots going on, new characters and events happening, a thrilling and edge of your seat read. I cant wait to read the next one in this series to see where it's all going to go!!
