Mary Billiter is the award-winning author of the highly acclaimed Resort Romance series.
In June 2019, Mary's Resort Romance novel, "The Wine Thief," was a finalist in the 2019 RONE Awards.
In July 2018, Mary was awarded "Top Female Author 2018" by The Authors Show for "Spirited Away."
Mary also has novels published under the pen names, "M. Billiter," and “Pumpkin Spice," which can be found on Goodreads.
Mary resides in the Cowboy State with her unabashedly bald husband, her four amazing children, two fantastic step-kids, and their runaway dog. She does her best writing (in her head) on her daily walks in wild, romantic, beautiful Wyoming.
Reese Pemberton, 29, is the new general manager of the Historic Wyoming Point Resort in Cheyenne, Wyoming. In addition to introductions to her staff and guests, she also stumbles into a hot cop and a historic mystery. Meanwhile, Detective Cody Pring, 29, just wants a quiet Halloween weekend since he and his partner are on call.
Cody won me over right away. He hates the smell of essentials oils and is a bit of a germophobe when it comes to public bathrooms. That’s a man after my own heart. Plus the “ass gaskets” line was funny. There’s some humorous narration in this tale told via Cody and Reese’s alternating first person POV. Cody was a swoonworthy good guy and definitely a catch.
“I wanted to be that guy. That guy who did the right thing and was man enough to let down his guard so a beautiful woman like this felt safe and secure to open herself to me.”
Aside from Reese’s moods being a little temperamental towards Cody in the beginning (of course they did get off on the wrong foot), I liked her as a strong, independent, and resourceful heroine. I think they were developed well, though developed separately for much of the first half. As it was, it seemed like they made a quick relationship jump at one point. But their hook-ups were hot so no complaints there.
“She had a restful, dreamy look about her that craved naked escapism, and I wasn’t about to disappoint.”
Cody and Reese made a good pair; I just wish they would have done a little sleuthing together. None the less, the mystery angle kept me turning pages even as I put the pieces together. The historic elements blended well into the setting and the mystery which gradually unravels over the course of the tale.
I appreciated the incorporation of multicultural characters. You just don’t get that often enough in the current romance market. I also appreciated how the historical background was integrated to give more depth to the ghost story and how motivations and attitudes were explained to understand the characters involved but not excused in present time.
“‘…lower your Confederate flag and remove your swastika. Ignorant racists like you lost both wars, and no one likes to listen to losers.’”
That line was just awesome!
I’ll admit I’m still mulling over the “ghost story,” still sorting through my feelings towards those characters. It certainly gives you something to think about. I look forward to other reader’s impressions.
There’s a little paranormal element to this contemporary romantic suspense. I’m generally not a PNR reader, but I am a sucker for holiday romances and Halloween just happens to be my favorite holiday. All in all, I enjoyed this haunted hotel romance a lot, and while it’s certainly perfect for the season, it can be enjoyed any time of the year…maybe even with a tube of chips and a bag of pb candy! ;-)

Spirited Away by Mary Billiter is book 4 in the Resort Romances series. I have not read any of the other books and feel that this book can definitely be read as a stand-alone. I never felt lost of confused. It took me till about 40% to get into the book. I think the writing was pretty good and the story got very interesting by the end. The way everything weaves together made it exciting and worth the read. There are ghosts and a mystery so it really was my kind of book to read. Overall I think the author did well and I enjoyed the characters and the story. I would rate 4 stars.
Spirited Away is the fourth book in the Resort Romance Series by Mary Billiter. It has intrigue, laughs, suspense, mystery, romance, and some paranormal elements. It can be read as a standalone, but the rest of the series is also really great, so you are missing out by not reading them and getting the full experience. Mary Teresa Pemberton (Reese) has just moved out west to Cheyenne, Wyoming to take on her new role as General Manager at the Historic Wyoming Point Resort. She’s come to realise that the western life is nothing like life on the west coast. The locals are proud of their past, preserving and protecting their history. She was going to have to work around that, because she had been tasked with bringing the historic hotel into the 21st century- to shape and streamline the whole operation, and implement cost saving measures. She had barely unpacked when she began hearing tales of the ghost that inhabited the hotel. She didn’t believe in ghosts and thought that the whole haunted hotel theme had been concocted to attract tourists. She was a firm believer in science and was determined to debunk the legend. But as the Halloween weekend is about to start, she experiences something that she can’t explain away quite so easily. All she knows is there is more to the whole story than she imagined. Cody Pring is a Police Detective with the local police department. He is dedicated to his job and takes what he does seriously. He’s also very good at what he does. He and his work partner have been rostered on for the Halloween weekend, but Cody is unfazed as he thinks it will be a quiet, uneventful weekend. But, when he inadvertently bowls over a gorgeous woman who’s out for a jog, his weekend becomes so much more interesting than he could ever thought possible. Even with their somewhat awkward and rocky introduction, there is a definite spark between Cody and Reese. When unusual events bring them together, he and Reese work together to unravel the legend and investigate the mystery of the ghost that haunts the hotel. I am really enjoying this series and was really pleased to get my hands on this book. The story was a little slow to get going, but about a quarter of the way in the pace picked up and the story really took off. From that point onwards, I was completely taken with the story, flipping pages like crazy, reading along to find out what would happen. This book is a fantastic addition to the series and a credit to Ms. Billiter. I look forward to the next book!
I have read a couple of books from this talented author but this one is by far my favorite. This book is a romance with some mystery thrown in. This book exceeded all my expectations. I fell in love with all of the characters. I could not put this book down. I was under a spell with this author's writing. It only took me a little over a day to devour this incredible story.
Reese Pemberton is the new general manager to a historical hotel. She is so excited about her new job. Reese is new to this town and she quickly makes new friends. She goes out for a run after a very tough day to clear her mind and all of a sudden she is on the ground in pain. Reese is very upset until she sees the handsome man that helps her. She finds out that this hot guy is a police officer for this town. Reese feels an attraction to him but is it the time right? She has been told by many people that her hotel is haunted but Reese doesn’t believe in the supernatural. She quickly changes her mind when she has an interaction with this famous ghost. Reese now has a new mission. She wants to find out what really happened in her hotel all those years ago. Reese teams up with the handsome cop and sparks start to fly. Will Reese find more than a ghost in her hotel?
I absolutely loved this book. The storyline has it all romance, mystery, and supernatural. You will fall in love with all of the characters. Reese is a beautiful woman that has some sass to her. She is very strong willed and confident in all that she does. Cody is a handsome cop that has a huge heart. He wants to protect everyone especially Reese. The way he treats Reese will make your heart melt. He is like a knight and shining armor. These characters have some steamy scenes that will make your temperature rise. This talented author will keep you at the edge of your seat until the very end. I thought the ending was perfectly done. I can’t wait to see what this author will write for us next.
“Don’t even get me started on what does and does not function in that hotel.” Spirited Away is book #4 of Mary Billiter’s Resort Romance series. I read it as a standalone novel and believe that it could be also by anyone else. There were no other references that caused confusion with this story present at all. This was also the first time I have read any of Mary Billiter’s work and I was fairly impressed for the most part. The first half of the book was a bit of a struggle to connect with. It just took a bit for the really exciting and gripping part of this story to develop. I was however, happy that I did stick it out and read till the very end, because I would have missed out on a lot of steamy scenes, drama, paranormal, and mystery for days. This was the only reason that I marked this book 4 instead of the full 5 stars. We meet several fun characters in this book but our main two that we follow the most is, Reese Pemberton, she is the new GM of The Historic Wyoming Point Resort, which also has the reputation of being haunted. It takes a lot of convincing that this isn’t just another stunt to draw in guests though for her. “So, what usually happens in these situations is that, since these phenomena were experienced by a layperson who couldn’t identify what they encountered it’s easy to become convinced that the unconventional image was a ghost -personal experience if flawed, but scientific evidence is not.” “That’s the spirit! We’ll make a believer out of you!” Famous last words of the coworkers that Reese has to deal with on a daily basis. Our other main character is the alpha and aptly uniformed and handsome Cody Pring. Neither Reese or Cody hit it off well at first, but these two may just have some hope after all by the end of the book. One will have to find out and read for themselves to discover what they go through and how it leads them to where they are at the end of the book. I found this to be one of the best parts of the book. “Thank you, Detective Pring, but I’m not someone who needs rescuing. Not me.” … In fact, she said, “thank you. You’ve helped me realize that whatever happens, including getting smacked by a door or straining my knee, it’s up to me to pull myself up. I will not and cannot rely on you or anyone else.” Detective Pring, however, has a bit of a crush from first sight. Will he be able to help the hotel and Reese, all while convincing her that he is a man worth taking a second look at? “The golden tones in her red hair shone beneath the moonlight. Long, bouncy curls pulled away from her face revealed shades of red that reminded me of the moon during a total eclipse. And like an eclipse, I could stop staring- even if it was bad for me. The fog wrapped around her fair face and delicate dancer’s body. I stared at green eyes that suddenly flashed with anger.” This was a well flowing historical story as well. It was evident in the writing that the author took her time to research and learn all she could about the location she was writing about and bringing to such a vibrant life on the pages that flowed so nicely.
The story Spirited Away by Mary Billiter is an amazing story that has mystery, romance, and ghosts/spirits. It is a story that I loved reading. It had me hooked after reading the first chapter. I was mesmerized. I didn’t want to put it down until I read the end. I love the characters of Reese Pemberton and Cody Pring. Reese is a headstrong and confident woman who is the new general manager at the Historic Wyoming Point Resort. She soon finds herself learning about the history of this hotel. That includes the ghost/spirit that has attached itself to the building. She soon finds herself have strange occurrences that could be called dreams or memories. Is this ghost/spirit reaching out to Reese for some reason? Reese also has found herself attracted to Cody Pring, a local police detective. Cody is a man with a good heart. He cares about people and the one person that he is finding himself attracted to and protective of is Reese Pemberton. From the first time these two kiss, you can tell that they have an amazing chemistry going on and Reese tells Cody that he is not a “one and done” for her. She wants more of him. What does the future hold for these two? Will they find themselves in a relationship together? Will the investigation into a decades-old mystery that they both have been drawn in to be solved? Are they in any danger because of this investigation? Both Cody and Reese are characters that I grew to love and found myself rooting for them to find happiness together. There are other characters introduced in this book that enhanced the story and I loved reading about them as well. This story has moments that are heartwarming and heartbreaking. My emotions were going up and down as I was reading. This is a wonderful romance story that you don’t want to miss. I have read several of the author’s books and have found her to be an amazing writer. I can’t wait to read what she writes next.
Spirited Away by Mary Billiter is a story that has just a little bit of everything in it, suspense, mystery, action and romance. This is not my first story by this author but it has become one of my favorites by her. Her writing style is engaging and pulls me into the story. Her characters are well developed, connectable and lovable. They will make you feel like you are right there in the story with them. They will take you on some twists and turns that will leave you sitting on the edge of your seat just waiting to see what will happen next. You will have a need to see what is lurking on the next page! In this story you will find a hot detective and a sexy general hotel manager. Reece is the general manager of a hotel. When mysterious things start happening at the hotel lead her to a ghost she begins to question what is going on. When the hot, sexy Detective shows up they are forced to solve this mystery together. Will they be able to put this ghost to rest? What will happen when they uncover more then what they were expecting to find. Sometimes things are better left alone, is this the case with this ghost? These two didn't start off on the best of feet but when things change for them, watch out for the steam! These two have such great chemistry and attraction to each other. She is strong, independent, and temperamental. He is a great guy that made a great book boyfriend. They will keep you turning pages! I enjoyed that some of the details in this story made the story flow better when it comes to ghosts and some background information. You don't always find this but this author did a great job with this. There were quite a few secondary characters in this story but they are great and will make you laugh. I highly recommend this story as I know you will want to see what happens at this haunted hotel!
Spirited Away by Mary Billiter is the fourth installment in her Resort Romance series and this series just keeps getting better and better. This book has everything from mystery, romance to ghouls and goblins, and all of the above hooked me from page one. Following the story of Reese and Cody, you get to see two strong willed people bend to the pressures of fate and circumstances to find the other half of themselves in the most unlikely of places. Reese is a very headstrong and confident woman, who just accepted the position as general manager of the Wyoming Point Resort, but it isn’t until she started to learn of the history of the hotel that she really learns what it means to be different in a new place. The more that Reese learns about the history of her new job the more that she starts to notice strange things happening around her and odd dreams or memories in the middle of the night. Reese connects with Cody, a local detective to attempt to figure out what really happened in this small sleepy town. Cody is a man with big heart, and he does everything that he can to help those around him, but he feels an immediate attraction to Reese. From the first time they touch, the connection is instant and HOT HOT HOT. Neither of them can deny the chemistry between them, and yet there is something holding each of them back. Is there a happy ending in the works for these two? Or will the mysteries of the Resort keep them at odds with the afterlife. Billiter is an old favorite of mine, so when I say this new book come up I knew I had to have it. Her characters are great and her story telling is above all others. If you are looking for a great series to dive into this is one that you need to own yesterday!
Spirited Away (Resort Romance Series Book 4) By Mary Billiter 4 Stars
Mary Billiter is a new author for me that has captured and held my attention with her wonderful books. This book was a little different for me. I usually do not like books about ghosts/spirits but somehow Ms. Billiter was able to change my mind.
Spirited Away was very interesting to me because it contained a TON of history that the reader is given as sort of the back story so you can understand what is going on. There’s also a mystery that is trying to be solved. Add in a romance between the two main characters Reese Pemberton and Cody Pring and you have a fabulous book on your hands. Somehow Ms. Billiter is able to incorporate this all and still keep the reader engaged and wanting more.
Reese Pemberton is the new GM for Wyoming Point Resort. After learning about the history of her new hotel she begins to experience strange memories/dreams. She’s never believed in ghosts/spirits but with these strange happenings and memories, it’s not so easy to push aside. Cody Pring is a local police detective. He’s not thrilled when he and his partner pull duty for the Halloween weekend. Quiet and uneventful is what he is looking for. Unfortunately, things don’t go his way. But is this a bad thing?
There seemed to be a lot to get through with this book. Between the history, the ghosts and the characters the reader may feel a bit overwhelmed but Ms. Billiter is able to marry it all together and provide a fantastic read. I am definitely impressed with this author and thoroughly enjoy her reads.
Spirited Away by Mary Billiter Reese is the new GM for a haunted hotel in Wyoming. She doesn’t believe the hotel is haunted so the staff encourages her to stay in the suite where cowboy ghost Campbell supposedly took his own life the night of his honeymoon. Determined to prove them wrong she agrees. While out on a run before spending her first night there she is knocked over and injures her knee when detective Cody opens a door leaving the bar. Cody helps her get on her feet and offers to help her home but she declines. While secretly watching her to make sure her ride arrives safely he is called out on a case needing immediate backup. This case sparks a long process of issues and meanwhile, Reese has her first encounter with the ghost. Can she help correct the wrongs keeping the ghost here? Can Cody figure out how to bring justice to his case?
Spirited Away was a magnificent romance mixed with a ghost story. The older hotel was full of surprises for the characters. The quick romance that builds between Cody and Reese is precious. I kept trying to figure out how Cody's case was related to the ghost but a twist at the end reveals it all. That’s exactly how a story should be. I also loved how much Reese cared for her staff. She truly appreciated them and wanted everyone to succeed.
In reading, I didn’t find anything that I didn’t like. I also observed very few grammatical errors. There was occasionally a change in the font color that was barely noticeable but that may have just been my device. This book is an easy 5-star novel and I highly recommend it to those interested in ghost stories and romance novels
I had the pleasure of reading Spirited Away by Mary Billiter recently. And I have to say that I was more than pleasantly surprised at how much I enjoyed this book.
I can honestly say that this is the first book that I've read by this author, and let me just tell you that she did a very good job with writing and keeping to a good storyline, and great character development.
We get to meet Reese Pemberton, who decides to leave her busy life behind in order to move to Cowboy Country – Wyoming (ps. - my dream is to one day move to that beautiful state, full of life, nature and just peace).
We also get to meet Cody Pring – a Cheyenne Police Detective. Together, they both go through trials to unravel with what is going on in the hotel that Reese manages. Unfortunately for her, it's a tad bit haunted. But don't fret, our Detective is there to help her in whichever way that he can.
The journey that these two takes is an amazing one, as they learn about each other, and how to connect, but also how to get past whatever it is that troubles them.
I have to say that this was more than an entertaining story that definitely captivated my attention. I love the relationships that we get to experience, as well as the mystery that our characters experience and how they deal with them. I felt that the author did an amazing job in creating this world, in which I was able to lose myself in the lines that I was able to enjoy.
I do have to say that I would most definitely call this a 4 Star Book, and am more than willing to read more books by this author.
Spirited Away is the fourth book in Mary Billiter’s Resort Romances series. Resort Romances is a collection of standalone stories set in a chain of hotels and resorts around America – you could read this on its own or it fits nicely in with the other stories! Beginning in the run up to Hallowe’en, Spirited Away has a paranormal element to it. Reese, the new general manager of Historic Wyoming Point Resort, does not believe in ghosts and brushes off tales of a haunted hotel room as a cute local legend. She, naturally, discovers that there is more to this than just legend and it falls to her to uncover the truth about the historical tragedy that led to the spirit situation. Cody is a clumsy detective who quite literally bursts into Reese’s life – knocking her flat on the floor as he leaves a pub. Their initial false start develops into a strong relationship as Cody gradually redeems himself in Reese’s eyes and she learns that she can and should rely on others from time to time. Like the other books in the Resort Romances series, there is a lot of detail on the kind of corporate side of things which helps make the series stand out. The resort is fantastically described and very fun to explore, with the characters that work there providing background information on things like the history of elevators. For me, this was a fun four star read. Definitely worth reading the rest of the series if you’re interested, but this would also work as an interesting standalone Hallowe’en romance if that’s what you’re looking for!
Spirited Away (Resort Romances) Book four by Mary Billiter is the four book in the Resort Romance series and follows the relationship between Cody and Reece, will they be able to solve the years of secrets, will they also acknowledge the budding chemistry between them.
Reece has recently moved to the Historic Wyoming Resort Hotel as General Manager and as soon as she gets there it becomes obvious that this aren't quite right. When the receptionists spins her the story of the ghost in room 632, she wants to show them she is not scared of something that can be explained. So Halloween weekend she decides to spend the time within the dreaded room. Will she see the spirit of Campbell or is all this a legend within the hotel for tourists.
Cody is a local cop who is a bit of a player within the town, but this weekend will be wild as he and his partner/brother in law are on the Halloween weekend shift. Cody is determined that it will be uneventful until a call from the Resort hotel changes his whole outcome for the weekend.
I loved this series and think that this book is my favourite in this series so far. I loved the character of Reece she was feisty and such a strong willed character that was a great counter to Cody. The writing is always fast paced and grips you from the first words in the first chapter.
I also enjoyed the way the story twists and turns and has you engaged til the end of the story. I can't wait for the next book in the series.
Spirited Away is the fourth book in the Resort series and while it is part of a series I had not trouble reading it as a standalone book. This is the story of newbie hotel GM Reese Pemberton and police detective Cody Pring. Reese is in Wyoming to build up the Historic Wyoming Point Resort, the hotel is haunted by a ghost called Campbell who committed suicide in the 1940’s, and while Reese doesn’t believe in ghosts she is eventually shown that some things just cannot be explained away. Cody and Reese meet one evening as they pretty much crash into one another while Reese is on a run and from that point Cody rescues Reese multiple times. There were some things I really loved about this story, for one I really liked the character of Cody, he was fleshed out very well and was very interesting I think the author made him believable and very likeable. I really enjoyed the episodes that Reese had with Campbell, his story was sad and interesting, I was anxious throughout to see exactly how his story played out. I also really enjoyed the secondary characters, Wild Bill, Toby, Dixon and Sheridan they were all very entertaining. I had a hard time liking Reese though, she was a little too juvenile at times, interesting at others, and even rude to Cody from time to time. All in all, this was an interesting storyline. I truly enjoy ghost stories and this one had a very good one. So, if you like a story with romance, mystery and ghosts, you will like this one.
a great read about there being more to the world. Reese Pemberton moves to Wyoming to be the manager of a local hotel. but when she arrives, it seems there is more to the hotel than it may seem, with a room haunted by a ghost. not wanting to believe , Reese carries on with her life but when events escalate and mysterious things happen, will fact or fiction win the day? a great read. well developed plot with twists and turns. the mystery of the ghost was drawn out to perfection to make the reader want to carry on reading to discover what happened. the flashbacks were written well, helping to unravel the plot slowly as events escalated in the past but also didn't distract from the narrative of the present. the simple setting of an old hotel helped with this sense of unease and mystery which was beautifully written. well developed characters such as Cody with his strengths as a police officer but also caring nature underneath or Reese standing up for herself but sweet underneath. a great supporting cast of friends in hilarious characters such as Tony or Dixon. a brilliant mix of realism in a hotel job and also the fantastic with the supernatural ghosts which was highly enjoyable. I also loved the mix of science and fantasy, with reese,'s disbelief against the ghosts. I also loved the visual detail throughout in the decor of the hotel or inside wild bills house. The scenes in the party were fun and full of life.overall, a fun enjoyable read and I would give it four stars.
Spirited Away is the fourth book in the Resort Romances series by Mary Billiter. I have read all the others in this series so far. This is a romance with a healthy dose of mystery and suspense, action and intrigue. The author is good at weaving a good story of crime and passion that leaves you wanting more and falling in love with her characters.
Reese is the new General Manager and can’t wait to get stuck into the role. When she learns first hand of the mystery and intrigue that the old hotel holds, she finds herself drawn into a whole other world. Will Reese be able to put together all the pieces of the puzzle, of the mysterious presence at the hotel? Or will fate have other plans?
Cody Pring is a Police Detective with the local police department. He is dedicated to his job and takes what he does seriously. He’s also very good at what he does. He and his work partner have been rostered on for the Halloween weekend, but Cody is unfazed as he thinks it will be a quiet, uneventful weekend. But, when he inadvertently bowls over a gorgeous woman who’s out for a jog, his weekend becomes so much more interesting than he could ever think possible. Even with their somewhat awkward and rocky introduction, there is a definite spark between Cody and Reese.
I have really enjoyed reading this series from Mary Billiter and I'm sure you will also. You don't need to take my word for it. Just head on over and grab a copy of all her work for your self. Happy Reading
This is the forth book in the series however they can be read as standalone books. I haven’t read any of the other books in the series and wasn’t confused at all. This book took me a bit to get into but once I did I was hooked. Reese relocates to be the general manager of the Wyoming hotel of the company she works for. The hotel has a ghost and while she doesn’t believe in ghosts she is willing to keep an open mind. Then things begin happening at the hotel involving Reese and the hotel’s ghost. Cody Pring is a local cop and he and Reese an interesting meeting. However, their meeting seems to be what starts the incidents between Reese and ghost. Things are uncovered. Will they be able to help the hotel’s ghost find peace and move on? I am a firm believer in ghosts so I always enjoy a good ghost book and they usually involve a mystery. This book has romance and mystery. I felt for the ghost and the story progresses. He is just trying to tell them what really happened to him. Unfortunately, Reese seems to get hurt when she is visited by the ghost. I don’t think he was trying to hurt her just trying to show her what happened to him and to get him justice. I really enjoyed the book once I got into it. I recommend it if you like a bit of mystery and some romance. I was given this book in return for an honest romance.
Spirited Away by Mary Billiter is the fourth book in her Resort Romance Series. I have had the pleasure of reading the previous books in this series and have enjoyed them. Mary creates lovable and connectable characters. Spirited Away is a romance story with mystery, suspense and humor. A well written story that starts with a slow easy pace but builds into a page turner. Reese Pemberton is the hotel manager of the Historic Wyoming Point Resort in Cheyenne, Wyoming. Rumor is this hotel is haunted, a rumor that Reese doesn’t believe. Until.... mysterious events starting happening at the hotel Reese is determined to find out what is going on. Cody Pring is a Police Detective. He has a good heart and cares for people. He is set to work Halloween weekend and he is determined to get through it without an incident. But things never work out they way we want. Reese and Cody work together to solve the mystery things going on at the hotel. They soon discover more than that they were expecting. Reese and Cody start off to a rocky start! But soon the sparks are flying and the attraction is hard to miss. I enjoyed the mystery and suspense, the twist and turns engaged me to try to figure out the mystery. Spirited Away is an fantastic book that I recommend you read. Mary Billiter continues to write amazing books.
Spirited Away by Mary Billiter is the fourth installment of the Resort Romance series. This story has a bit of romance, mystery, suspense and action to keep you hooked until the end of the book. This is story is about Reese Pemberton and Cody Pring. Reese is the General Manager at the Historic Wyoming Point Resort. Weird things have been happening at the resort which leads Reese to believe there is some paranormal activity. In comes Cody, a local police detective, who is a caring person with a good heart, that enjoys helping people. While at the resort, he ends up helping Reese to solve the paranormal mystery. While trying to solve the mystery, Cody and Reese start getting close and their chemistry is intense. What will happen when they find more information than they expected regarding the paranormal activity in the resort? Will their relationship continue after the investigation is finalized? I have read several books from this series, they can be read as a standalone, as each story is about different characters that work at a hotel/resort. Mary Billiter writes a seamless story that hooks you from the beginning to end. From real to life characters to scenic details about the resort, each book in this series has something for every reader. I look forward to reading more from this series.
Spirited Away is the fourth book in the resort romances series and again was a very enjoyable read. Mary writes really entertaining stories with some great characters that you can’t help but fall in love with. Her stories are always really well written and a pleasure to read. I think this one may be my favourite story from this series so far. I really liked Cody! He made me laugh numerous times! He had a really nice and caring nature with a good heart. I thought Reese was a really strong female lead, I love how she resisted Cody at the beginning but I really do think that they made a great pair! The chemistry between them was good and I really enjoyed their character development over the story. I was really rooting for this couple!! I think this story had a bit of everything which is probably why I loved it so much. It had romance, mystery and a little suspense – along with some great characters. There was a nice historical theme and some PNR elements to the story too which I enjoyed and it fitted in well. As always with the authors book it was truly a wonderful romance story that I highly recommend. I look forward to reading whatever she comes out with next.
Spirited Away (Resort Romance Book 4) By Mary Billiter
Spirited Away (Resort Romance Book 4 ) By Mary Billiter Is the fourth book in her Resort Romance Series.Although this can be read as a standalone, I do recommend reading the first three books in this series.Holy Wow. I loved this book I couldn't put it down once I started reading. I was 0n the edge of my seat trying to figure out what happened next I loved the mystery aspect of this book. This story is about Reese and Cody. Reese is the new general manager at the Historic Wyoming Point Resort.Reese finds herself learning about the history of the hotel which includes the ghost that essentially has attached himself to the building. Cody is a detective with the local police department. And boy does he have a good heart..He's a caring person and he finds himself very much attracted to Reese and a little bit over protective of her. The attraction between these two are off the charts. .Can these two have a future relationship with each other? There's a mystery to be solved and it's a very old one .Can these help solve the decade's old mystery? I was in the edge of my seat trying to figure out what happens next.i highly recommend this book.
Spirited Away by Mary Billiter is book 4 in Resort Romances, a series of standalones. I had previously read Escape Clause, book 2, and enjoyed it but this one I absolutely loved. I was hooked right from the very start. Spirited Away is a beautifully written story with an incredible amount of detail, with nothing left out! There is honestly never a dull moment and I felt like I was constantly kept on my toes, it’s intense, funny, drama filled, intriguing and steamy!
This story had me laughing out loud from the very first chapter, like the type of laughter that had me crying. Reese and Cody were so unexpectedly funny which made me love them even more. I loved all the supporting characters, each one offers so much to the story and without them it would not be the same.
I loved the many different stories going on in this book, it’s told in both Reese and Cody’s POV where they each have separate stories playing out, plus the flashbacks of the ghost’s past, I wasn’t sure how they were all connected but Mary tied them all together perfectly! This was definitely a memorable story and I would definitely recommend it to others! I look forward to reading the other books in the series!
Spirited Away by Mary Billiter is the fourth book in the Resort Romance series and it exceeded my expectations. I have read the other books in this series and I loved them. So far this one is my favorite, I think it's because I love a good ghost story and then add some romance and it's my ultimate book. I love how Mary writes with such detail and she sucks you in and keeps you engaged throughout the entire story. I loved the two main characters she created, Reece, who is the new general manager for the Historic Wyoming Resort Hotel and she has been told of a ghost haunting the hotel, but she is not a believer. Cody who is a cop that finds himself very attracted to Reece. The first time they meet is a bit bumpy. They do start working together to solve the mystery and the chemistry is off the charts!! This story took me on a rollercoaster of emotions, and kept me on the edge of my seat. There were twists and turns, humor and so much more!! This book can be read as a standalone, but I would suggest reading the other books because they are amazing!!! Mary Billiter is a very creative and gifted writer and can't wait to read what she does next!!! I highly recommend this book for anyone who wants to read and amazing romance with a little mystery thrown in book.
Spirited Away (Resort Romances #4) by Mary Billiter was an sweet, fun read that had me hooked from start to finish.
To start if you haven't read the other books in this series, no worries, each book is a stand alone, with some crossover characters(In saying that, you need to read the other books cause they are outstanding!). They kind of pop in quick, so you don't need to know their backgrounds. This is told in dual POV so you get to experience both Cody and Reese inner thoughts and struggles.
I have to say, I loved Reese. She was spicy, down to earth and funny as hell. I think we would make great friends. She's a fighter and a realist, but she was willing to open her mind to explore the whole Haunted Hotel rumour. She gave this book that extra something special.
Cody... oh boy, where can I can one? He was a little bit alpha, but not overbaring, he knew he couldn't go in guns-a-blazing with Reese. It was a slow burn situation, and it was worth the wait!
Overall this story is that perfect summer day read, with just the right mix of romance, mystery, danger and of course, hot, hot, smut. So take my high recommendation that you will not be able to put this gem down.
Spirited Away by Mary Billiter is the fourth book in her Resort Romances series and I have to admit I have not read the first three AND I feel that you can absolutely read this story as a standalone. I have not read anything else by this writer before but let me tell you though; I fell in love with her writing! Spirited Away is the story of Mary Teresa “Reese” Pemberton, newly appointed General Manager to the Historic Wyoming Point Resort in Cheyenne, and Cody Pring, a local Police Detective aka Alpha Male and Wyoming native. It is a beautiful story that has its own ghost(!!!!), intrigue, mystery, romance, laughter and tears … I cried and laughed at the same time! And do not remember the history, the way the writer spins the tale and how we feel like we are there in person … As I have been to Wyoming and Cheyenne before then I could easily picture the outdoors that Reese was struggling at times (coming from sunny California). Reese and Cody start off a bit bumpy but what a ride they are taking us on AND you cannot deny the sparks between them that light up the sky! In addition there is a number of great supporting cast that add so much to the story itself and oh my … the laughter you get out of them … amazeballs! Don’t miss out a brilliant story!
Spirited Away was definitely a fun, edge of my seat read. I was really drawn to the story and could not stop reading because I wanted to know what was going to happen next. Cody and Reese quickly became my favorite characters. Their chemistry was off the charts and their first meeting was the perfect way to show off Reese's fiery temper. While some parts of the story had me laughing out loud, there were also some parts that were so upsetting. As a police officer, Cody sees a lot of horrific things on the job, but some things are ones that would be hard to get over.
Reese is also faced with some intense moments when she comes face to face with the spirit that haunts her hotel. Considering herself a nonbeliever of ghosts and other supernatural phenomenon, she is faced with the reality that there really may be a spirit trying to communicate with her. The way things tied themselves together throughout this book was amazing. Even though I had a guess as to what had happened from early on, I was taken by surprise in a few places.
Spirited Away by Mary Billiter is a paranormal/mystery/romance that is the fourth book in the Resort Romance series. This book can definitely be read as a standalone without any problems though. In this story we are introduced to Reese Pemberton, the new GM for a supposedly haunted resort, and Cody Pring, a detective that is instantly attracted to the feisty red head. Together these two will investigate a decades old crime surrounding the death of the man who would become the resorts resident ghost. In the process Cody will attempt to convince Reese to open her heart and let him in. This book had a slow start but I’m glad I stuck it out to the end. This was a really good read and I liked it a lot. Once the pace picked up I had a hard time putting this book down. I really liked both of the main characters. They are both willing to take risks for each other, be it physically or emotionally. Their chemistry is spot on and I was rooting for them the entire book. The dialogue was well written and really drove the story and character progression nicely. All in all a solid four star rating for a slow burn beginning with an exciting ending.
Spirited Away was a good 4 star read. This is the 4th book in the Resort Romances series. Reese is the new GM at the Wyoming Point Resort which is believed to be haunted. Cody is a detective with some phobias, germs being the big one. I had some LOL moments with him.
These two meet when Reese is jogging and literally runs into Cody. Lets just say that they didn’t exactly start off on the right foot, but there was a little spark there. These two end up working together to check into the mysterious happenings at the hotel. They end up giving into their attraction and there were some steamy scenes.
I didn’t know what it was about this redhead, but being with her didn’t feel like I was running away. It actually felt like I was running toward something.
It took me a little bit to get pulled in but by the end I was really enjoying it. You get mystery, romance, suspense, LOL moments and spirits. I liked the alternating POV so we could get each of their thoughts. This can be read as a stand alone in the series. There is a twist at the end I didn’t see coming, what a surprise. I was really happy with the ending and I look forward to the next book in the series.
Spirited Away if the fourth book in the Resort Romances series by Mary Billiter. All of the books in the series are stand alones so you can read them in any order, but you should read them all because they are really that good. This is my new favorite from Ms. Billiter. This book is full of mystery, romance and a ghost, which is different from the other books in this series. The history and twist and turns that the author put into this story had me hooked from beginning to end. Reese and Cody are both strong characters and the chemistry between the two was off the charts. I loved the way the mystery of what happened to the cowboy was woven into the relationship budding between Reese and Cody. The secondary characters shine in this book, making you laugh and gasp when you least expect it. Although, this book is a bit longer (almost 400 pages) it really flows and holds your attention, and before I knew it I was on the last chapter. This whole series has made a wonderful impression on me. I would recommend this book, series and author to everyone who loves a great romance. Don’t let the ghost scare you off, you will truly enjoy this book.
Spirited Away by Mary Billiter is the fourth book in this amazing series. I was eager to read this book after the first three and was not disappointed. The writing style is easy glowing, very descriptive and engaging. Before you know it your most of the way through the book and do not want to put it down till the end. Each book the author creates characters which are easily attachable and endearing, you feel as though you know them and are going through the story with them. There are plenty of surprises, twists and turns that you don't expect but make it the awesome book it is.
