La cabeza
La cabeza narra la vida cotidiana de A Syu y su familia después de que su madre se dé cuenta una mañana de que su hijo ya no tiene cabeza. Su padre decidirá donarle su propia cabeza, quizá porque se siente culpable, y también descubriremos cómo perdió A Syu la cabeza.
¿Cómo será la relación de A Syu con su novia? ¿Aprenderá a vivir con la cabeza de su padre? ¿Cómo será la vida de su padre, A Muk, sin cabeza? ¿Y la relación entre sus padres? Los elementos surrealistas cobran sentido a medida que avanza la trama. El cuento da pie a reflexionar sobre la percepción de la realidad, sobre la búsqueda identitaria (individual y quizá colectiva) y, de forma sutil e indirecta, sobre las enfermedades mentales.
La cabeza forma parte, junto con Un paraíso sobre el infierno (una antología de tres cuentos ambientados en el Shanghai de la década de 1930), del proyecto de investigación Digital Translations in the Making: Hong Kong Contemporary Fiction in Spanish. Dirigido por Maialen Marín, dicho proyecto busca, por un lado, estudiar los procesos involucrados en la traducción en formato digital y, por otro, enriquecer el sistema literario hispánico con voces inéditas procedentes de China.

16 books37 followersDorothy Tse Hiu-hung (謝曉虹) is the author of four short story collections in Chinese, including So Black (《好黑》, 2005) and A Dictionary of Two Cities (《雙城辭典》, 2013). Translations of her short fiction have appeared in The Guardian, Paper Republic, The Margins (AAWW) and Anomaly. Her English-language collection Snow and Shadow (2014, trans. Nicky Harman), was longlisted for the University of Rochester’s 2015 Best Translated Book Award, and collects short stories from her earlier Chinese books as well as previously unpublished works.
A recipient of the Hong Kong Biennial Award for Chinese Literature and Taiwan’s Unitas New Fiction Writers’ Award, Tse also attended The University of Iowa's International Writing Program in 2011. She is a co-founder of the Hong Kong literary magazine Fleurs des lettres, and currently teaches literature and writing at Hong Kong Baptist University.
