Josh is a werewolf who suddenly has extra, unexpected, and totally untrained powers. He’s not happy about it - or about the evil jackasses who keep attacking him, trying to steal his magic. Forced to seek help, Josh is sent to an unexpected ally for training.
Deena is a priestess with more than her share of magical power and a unique ability that has made her a target. She welcomes Josh, seeing a kindred soul in the lone werewolf. She knows she can help him... If they can survive their enemies long enough.
Bianca D'Arc is the USA Today bestselling author of over 100 romance titles. She has been published traditionally, by a few notable small presses, and indie. Before becoming a full-time writer, she ran a laboratory, a legal department, and jetted around the country on business while working for a Fortune 500 engineering firm.
**Included in the "Creatures" limited edition anthology. ** For a nice change of pace it was more info & plot development than the norm. :) This looks to be the start of a major plot arc in the overall battle to Elspeth. I liked the duo and am looking forward to the next installment.

Now, I'm not going to go into what happens in the book. That is for you to read. I will tell you there are twists a plenty, a few chuckles, some delightfully swoon worthy, sexy moments that will keep you glued to the page, looking for more.
If you’ve been keeping up with Bianca and all her PNR series you know that something is building. Something BIG, HUGE, MONUMENTAL! This book takes us all a little bit closer, gives us all just a little bit more of a glimpse into this huge fantastic world she’s been building. Now this is a standalone book, but it should whet your appetite to look deeper into Bianca’s books. I can’t wait to read Snow Cat to find out more about what is going on….I hope you do too!
I was given an ARC but the Honest Review is freely given.
I have been a huge fan of Bianca D’Arc Tales of the Were series and there have not been any books I have not liked. I am happy to say, Lone Wolf joins that grouping. Josh and Deena are a beautiful couple and complement each other completely. She is very nice and calming, but she has a core of steel and has no problem unleashing her power to protect others. Josh is a werewolf with powers that have recently come to surface that he can’t control. Being a werewolf means that Josh is dangerous and deadly, and adding in this new development has changed him in ways that he didn’t see coming.
A favorite character of mine from this series, Duncan le Fey, makes a couple of appearances, which I really enjoyed. This is a short story with a lot packed into its pages. There are learning experiences between the characters, a couple of meetings with the Lady herself, power battles between good and evil, danger, love, and acceptance. I got pulled into each scene of the story with the characters. I laughed and cheered with them and loved the whole plot of the book. I also really liked the lead in to the next book in the storyline. I would highly recommend this, and the whole series, to readers that like danger thrown into the mix of their romance.
Deena had lived on her little farm for some now. She had a very special gift
Josh was on the run, again! A lone wolf being attached. He had felt a change in him, it was confusing. All of a sudden, evil men wanted his power. But what was it? He spoke to several people looking for answers. Finally an older woman told him to find Duncan in New York city, giving him some details and a letter to be given to Duncan. Another adventure, apparently. Duncan knew Josh needed special help, and the person to help him. A young priestess would help him. Deena was Goddess touched. She welcomes Josh, seeing a kindred soul in the lone werewolf. She knows she can help him... if they can survive their enemies long enough.
This story is short and action packed. I read this story in one sitting but i did struggle. Although this story was action packed, it wasn’t for me. I couldn’t get into this book. I struggled to stick reading it. I don’t think it were Deena’s fault. I liked her and found her sweet. I liked her ability to help animals. I felt sorry for Josh. I truly wanted for him to get his problem sorted. That being said, I couldn’t connect with him. I really tried but I just couldn’t. I liked Deena and Josh together but I only saw a little chemistry between them. I may give this book a second chance at some point in the future.
A Wonderful Addition to the Tale's of the Were Series.
A lone wolf, trying to survive being hunted for his unexpected magic and learning how to control it, and a priestess, who has a heart of gold, find that they have more power together than apart. A few more surprises unfold, and it's obvious that there is so much more to come. As with many of Ms Bianca D'arc's book's I've read to date, I've enjoyed getting lost in her magical imaginative world and always look forward to reading more.
Lone Wolf - Bianca D’Arc — this story fits well in the Tales of Were world. As the first in the Were-Fey Love Story part of this world it was a great read. A fey Wolf seems to be a strong combination, especially for one that doesn’t know how to control his powers. That’s was a well developed story.
It was really good, but I read the 2nd book before this one so it was a little like a flashback. I found the hero a little immature but by the end of the book he had made progress. It was a really fast read and would have been better with more background on the H/h.
Great romantic fantasy story, mixing shifter and magical beings! Fun to watch the story unfold between Josh and Deena as they fight evil that approaches!
