Nyla thought the worst thing that could ever happen to her was losing her first love and her unborn child. In the mist of struggling to overcome certain hardships, Nyla hangs out with a new beau who violently rapes her on their first outing. Scared to death, she promises him she’ll keep her mouth shut and not tell a soul. Somehow the cat’s out of the bag and now she fears for her life.
A very good read. Very real, I know this happens to girls. But you haves to pay attention to people and how they act. This girl should have learned something from her first ordeal. Not her fault but some times you got to use your brain and think, especially when you don't know some one that well. Young people could learn some things from this story. But what happen to her was not her fault, got to tell some one, you just can't let people keep getting away with stuff. Only four stars because I hate to have to keep getting the next book and the next book to see how the story ends.
I love this author and enjoyed the Westbrook High Series. I was not expecting the first book in this series to be so for an early teenager. The lesson was good, but the book was rushed and poorly written from an adult point of view. The second one was some what better. I am not a quitter so I will continue to see what develops in this series. I was not able to review the first one and don't know why.
Mature YA fiction with trigger Warnings! The storyline was intresting. However, the book contains TONS of grammatical errors and the ending was abrupt and seemingly unfinished.
