If you have a passion for the history of radio and the magical people who became legends with just a few minutes of banter and a lot of behind the scenes strategies, then you will love this book. If you are a casual fan, then this will read as a reference book, slightly more personal than a Wikipedia article, but somewhat dry in places. Personally, I appreciated the depth and can only envy the hours of fascinating conversations that went into researching the material, however the book would have benefitted from an overall narrative or structure to tie all the chapters together, even if it was chronological. Still, a great, often depressing, tribute to heroes you're not likely to read about anywhere else.
