i would like to personally thank nursing school for my reading hiatus since i simply don’t have time for it anymore. but of course the one book i have been able to read was this one which was assigned for my professional relations class. i wasn’t too quick to warm up to this one. it seemed super cheesy (way too many harry potter puns for my taste) and very common sensical for the the first handful of chapters, but further in i grew such a soft spot for the author and adored the vulnerability she was able to show in these pages. she is direct with what being a nurse entails and i appreciate her not sugarcoating the terrible parts. our first codes or horrible shifts are not going to be great experiences, but overall i think she does a lovely job at addressing the positive impact the future nursing community can have on this world if they can persevere and keep their head on straight.
