When Dr. Chelsie Peebles, an OB/GYN for vampires discovers she’s dying from a stage four glioblastoma she learns there is only one sure cure that can save her life. She must turn into a vampire. Chelsie is the member of a big extended family of vampires. In fact she is the only human left in her entire clan. Headaches have been plaguing her for months and when she’s diagnosed with an incurable brain tumor, Chelsie chooses to keep the horrific news from her family to spare them hurt until she can figure out viable treatments or a cure. Researching her options for survival lead her to the inevitable conclusion she is going to die no matter what treatments she chooses unless she turns into a vampire. Chelsie’s desperate. She blackmails the partners of her vampire OB/GYN clinic into aiding her in this life altering transformation. Asa Bradley, one of her partners thinks Chelsie’s crazy for wanting to turn because the reasons she gives are flakey. He has no idea she’s dying. He is however bewitched by the little human doctor and wants to know what has her so hellbent on wanting to become a vampire. So one night when he’s invited to a bar where Chelsie moonlights as a country/western singer, he goes and is stunned to discover she has the voice of an angel and the body of a seductress since all he’s ever seen her wear is a lab coat. Asa is smitten with the surprising Dr. Peebles. Trouble is Chelsie has an ex named Chad who she sings with in the band and he thinks Chelsie belongs to him. Chad’s dangerously possessive and threatens to hurt Chelsie if Asa doesn’t leave her alone. Asa isn’t going to be thwarted by a puny human. He romances Chelsie and gains her trust and affection which inevitably leads him to discover Chelsie’s deadly secret. Can Asa keep Chelsie safe from her maniacal ex and get her this transformation she needs before cancer or her villainess ex claims her life?
This is the third book in the Forever and a Night series, and with each book the series grows and develops into something extremely mesmerizing. This series is now my favorite vampire series. The relationship and chemistry between Asa and Chelsie is so noticeable and intense. What happens when her past starts to affect her future? Will Chelsie find out what happiness is for her or will it come to late? This book had me going through several different emotions, and I loved second of it. Thank you for allowing me to read this and write about it.
❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️ 💋💋 I just love this series so much . Asa and Chelsie are made for each other , lifemates , fate says so and so does god . They have two problems, her brain tumour and her ex . Asa is going to have to use all his wits to help her through both of these challenges. At the end will they be able to pull together or will it have been to much too soon for their fledgling relationship. The 3rd book in this fantastic series and they just get better . Love it x I received an advance copy of this book and chose to submit a review
I really enjoyed this novel, I was a little apprehensive as the vampire craze has come and gone, but this was a pleasant surprise. The author gave us a reason to care about the main character Chelsie's motivations from the beginning, and I was quickly invested in her story. I'm always interested to see how authors build out a world where vampires are trying to low-key integrate into human society and this did not disappoint. The romance was fast paced and hot, would highly recommend.
loved every minute of this book. Many unexpected twists and turns. A truly amazing book about finding the true meaning of love and forgiveness with a vampire twist. I highly recommend it.
Although the author shows enthusiasm for her concept, unfortunately it needed quite a few more drafts before it was ready for publication as a novel. It doesn't run the entire gamut of mistakes beginning writers make, but it does include quite a few of them. This is the third book in the series, but this world containing vampires who aren't quite vampires -- they aren't undead, aren't demons, don't even sparkle in the sun -- hasn't been thought through or at the very least presented so the reader can tell what's what.
Is this a vampire book? The only bites are seductive ones. The concept isn't really used for anything other than vampires being impervious to mortal diseases and having super-speed. It's definitely a romance; I'll give it that. Suddenly from left field come a couple of out-of-place sci fi elements. And then in the final fourth or less, the book turns into an Inspirational, capped off with Our Heroine receiving commands from God Himself through an angel. Yes, this is an Inspirational with sex scenes.
The characters are pretty much interchangeable, though Our beautiful Heroine is special. She's not only a top doctor, but she's a genius when it comes to performing country music. She and her entire band (except the Bad Guy) are portrayed as being TSTL when it comes to the conditions they're playing with. I tried to make sense of it, but couldn't. I also tried to figure why she wasn't telling her family and staff about her medical problem, when it would quickly lead to a solution. For some unfathomable reason -- likely to keep the plot going -- she didn't. Perhaps it was because her terminal illness didn't seem to bother her that much.
Why did the doltish Bad Guy reach for a scholarly treatise to while away the time reading while waiting for Our Heroine, thus discovering the Big Secret about Vamps? Why did Our Heroine insist she must be a virgin for her wedding night so she'd be Pure, but gleefully agree to realistic shared mind-games that gave her every bit of the sexual experience except a broken hymen? These are called plot holes.
There might be an entertaining book in here somewhere, but it would require the services of a good editor to help the author find it. The author needs to take more courses in novel writing, perhaps find a mentor to work closely with her. I hope she maintains her enthusiasm and with further novels, gets help in bringing them to fruition.
Three stars for (mostly) being able to put sentences together correctly, but the large plot holes and lack of genre focus and world building took away one.
Lana Campbell has done it again! She has masterfully blended a vampire romance with Christian romance to create her own very unique genre. To some, the two genres may seem to contradict one another, but the two genres are woven together seamlessly here. They are not only woven together seamlessly, they compliment one another. Through the eyes of these intriguing characters, Lana Campbell demonstrates the values of vampires and the values of Christians are not mutually exclusive. It’s nurture, not nature. These characters, whether vampire or human, are inherently good people. It is the values they are instilled with and carry with them that determine how they value themselves and each other.
Chad is a human who was not instilled with the same values that Chelsie was. As a result, he has lost his way. He has become possessive and abusive. Asa’s reaction to Chad’s treatment is only natural. It is the values instilled in Chelsie, the values she carries with her, that allow her to rise above the hatred. It is these same values that Chelsie hopes to inspire in Asa. It is these same values that inspire Chelsie to pray for Chad, despite the pain that Chad has caused herself and the ones she loves.
It is these values that, for better or worse, prevent her from telling Asa and her family about her life-threatening illness. She initially bears the burden alone, because she does not want her loved ones to bear the burden with her. It may be self-defeating, but it is a selfless act. This selfless act and her desire to save Chad threaten her relationship with Asa. It is Asa’s ability or inability to see these situations from Chelsie’s point of view that will ultimately save or destroy their relationship.
This is not only a great book but a well-written book! The author truly knows her stuff. This is the first book that I have read by this author and it definitely will not be the last. There are so many characters brought to life with the author's words. You can imagine it all. There aren't many books nowadays that allow you to play the book in your head with that author's words like a movie. Again, the author did an amazing job with that. Another thing that the author did a wonderful job was with the different Points of View. (Some authors struggle with transitioning back and forth) It was easy to keep track with whose POV I was reading.
As stated above, the author draws you in with all of her characters. My favorite is Chelsie, who is, of course, the main character. You get to watch her go through mental transformations as she takes life's problems head-on. With everything, she is going through it's amazing she keeps it all together. You find yourself being able to relate to her emotions and actions, especially when she is dealing with Chad. I won't put any spoilers in this review, but Chad is not on my list of favorite characters (not because of the way the author wrote him, he's just not a good guy) Asa, Mr. Hot Stuff, is the opposite of Chad and my second favorite character. He is a cross between gentleman & Alpha. Can definitely feel the steam coming off of this character. (In a good way) The author made Asa's character perfectly. I think all who read this book can really enjoy Asa.
If you haven't read any books by this author, I highly recommend reading this one. It really is a great book from cover to cover.
Chelsie knew that the brain tumor she had would eventually kill her, but if she did what her family did and became a vampire she would be healed. Chelsie thought Boone would ever find out her secret, but that was until she met Asa.
Asa never liked going out, but when Christian and Tiffany invited him to her Chelsie sing it would change his entire world. Chelsie being the human ob/gyn that just came onboard, little did anyone realize she can sing like an angel.
Asa never thought his life mate would be his coworker, but little did he know he would also be his blood donor, Chelsie thought she had everything planned on turning into a vampire, but things change when you fall in love, and you have a human trying to hurt and control you.
Chelsie loved yo sing, but things were changing in the group with Chad getting the group a contract, and Chelsie having to make a decision. Chelsie being innocent and trusting never thought Chad was the devil in disguise until one night he broke in and hurt her.
Asa never thought his life mate would be under his nose. Little did he realize she would be dying too. Asa had feeling for Chelsie, but knew that the boy in the band was bad news.
Chelsie believed everyone was worth saving. She lied to Asa and her family to save them, but would it turn out to be the end for her an Asa. Asa believed Chelsie word, but was it her word that would break them apart.
Would Chelsie die from the brain tumor? Could Asa love her and keep her safe? Will Chad destroy and break up what could be tight for the bad and Chelsie.
Can Nathan save his family once again or will it be too late?
Must read!

I couldn't put it down! In this tale, the reader follows a smart, independent, hard working OB GYN--Chelsie--as she faces an incredible life altering event: her own mortality. It's a good thing she has the option of becoming a Vampire to save herself. But her journey to that point is anything but a straight line!
This book had me enthralled from the first page. I love how the story was presented. From the jump, it's colorful language and story arc is very well done. The author did an amazing job in showing the reader how the characters felt--each of their personalities easily distinguishable and prominent. Sometimes authors can give their characters similar voices/personalities and that is farthest from reality. That was not the case with this novel. That component of the book was well executed.
I thought it was refreshing to see a main female character hold strong to their convictions and put their value system first and not compromise. It showed her true strength and courage, providing the reader (hopefully) with a relatable MC that they could invest into. That's how it felt for me as a reader. Her love interest, Asa, is a fantastic character as well. Their dynamic worked fabulously and helped make the novel that much more powerful.
This book was a great read. I look forward to reading the next installment!
Chelsie is the only daughter of Mia that remains human. She has found out she only has a limited time to live because of a brain tumor. She does not tell her family about it, instead she proposes a change to a vampire for other reasons. She is a doctor at the V clinic, but she also sings with a band in her spare time. One band member, Chad is someone she used to date at one time. Now, ten years later he is still the same. Cheater, liar and doing drugs, selfish! He wants her to take them to stardom at the risk of her medical career. It is not what she wants and he will not leave her alone! She discovers Asa has feelings for her and they are life mates. But, Chad is deranged and wants her at any cost..possibly even her life! What will happen? What will he do? Also, there comes a point where her Christianity is at odds with what Asa believes! Now, she has many choices to make…which will she take? Will she survive if she does not get changed? Can she survive without Asa? This is the third book in the series and it is just as superb as the first two! Ms. Campbell manages to give each pair their story without boring the reader! She brings to life each character within the story…it makes us wish we were there! I received this as an ARC and am leaving a voluntary review.
I would have to say that I think this is my favorite Forever and a Night book so far! I love Chelsie and Asa. I think this author is definitely growing as an author and it shows in the stories. Although I enjoyed the first 2 immensely, I have to say this is the best. Chelsie is dying and faster than even a normal human. Shes at her wits end. Then it hits her! She knows what can save her and it's been staring her right in the eyes this whole time. I can honestly understand that I do not understand why people hide terminal illnesses from their friends and family but I know people in real life who have so its very realistic. Asa is a vampire, and he has searched his whole life so far for his life-mate. Finally, he realizes shes been right in front of him for way too long. Unfortunately just as things are going right, they go terribly wrong. This story may have some Domestic Abuse triggers for some, and it is a whirlwind. This one also has very strong religious tones so although it doesnt bother most, I think it needs mentioned for the few it will.
This is the best vampire series i have ever read. The author has a gift of pulling you into the book and making you understand so many things. Chelsie is a strong, brilliant, Christian women. She is a ob/gyn for vampires. She meets Asa a vampire doctor also her partner at the clinic. Her world comes crashing down on her when learns she has a brain tumor. There is nothing that can save her she will die soon. The only chance is if she becomes a vampire. This book has everything love, loss, struggle, hot scenes, and maybe an hea?? This is just an amazing book the 3rd in the series. Every book just gets better I don't know how the author does that, but she does. A must read and I can tell you I don't think 5 stars is enough for this series. So ill say its a 10+ must read I would recommend to anyone.
This book has a little of everything. It is a Vampire/Romance/Christian story. All three of those elements are strong throughout the entire story. The Christian element became particularly strong in the last 1/3 of the book. It did intrigue me that the author created Vampires that were also strong Christians. Plus the publisher’s name is Zombie Cupcake Press – made me smile! It was definitely an enjoyable book with only a minimum of glitches (4 typos) and a little disconnect with the plot. I was left wondering how such a large number of vampires, who appear to live with humans, intermarry, have children and live hundreds of years, were not known by humans. But, if you let your mind not get caught in the details (sometimes logical is not a good thing) there is a good story here.
An interesting take on vampires - or more to the point a one-off of them. Campbell's variety aren't what comes to mind when thinking about the usual monsters and they also aren't the ones that sparkle. I would have liked to have seen a bit more lore as to how the species came into existence. That doesn't mean the story was lacking by any means. There is a lot going on in this book- romance - a fatal illness - vampire/human connections - religion, which made for a busy read.
This was my first Christian Vampire book - I was rather surprised the author meshed the two together.
I like the books with the vampire theme, and this unique and exciting book took it to a new level. The beginning is frustrating, there is an inner conflict between the need to survive and the decision not to tell others the truth. The main character is always interesting and the story has an intensity that simply disarms you. I recommend this book to those who want a change from regular vampire-romance plots. Now I am interested in the other books in this series.
Asa and Chelsie were very relatable minus the vampire thing. The emotions were not just read but felt by me the reader. That alone gave the book a five-star rating. If I could, I would Give another five-star because it was just that good. Asa and Chelsie's story was my favorite so far. These two have such a rich, sweet bond and so much love for each other and I liked how the author introduced faith and religion into the story.
This book has an entertaining view on vampires and mixes them right in with our reality...even going as far as medical needs! I loved the whole V-clinic idea and how the author added belief in Christianity and faith into the mix. I enjoyed the romance between the characters and highly reccomend this read.
Another great read!!! I am quite the fan of the Forever and a Night series! Book 3 did not disappoint me! Campbell's writing is deep, engaging and she has an amazing way of tying in Christian concepts to the paranormal. Her characters are always complex and interesting. The novel has a great flow of intrigue and excitement. A definite must read series!!!
I enjoy how each set of characters are intertwined in this series and how each book focuses on a different set. In this book the focus is on Asa and Chelsie. Feelings for each other transform into something more and even with a narcissistic ex Chad being involved, Asa and Chelsie prove love and faith can conquer all their trials.
Another great installment in the Forever & A Night series. The characters, Vampire or Human, are strong in their faith. I love Lana’s take on Vampires, they are not creatures but humans with a blood disease. They have the same issues as regular humans, they have moral convictions (or lack thereof), they love, they hurt, and they search for their lifemate. This book is another page turner.
I really enjoyed the world created for vampires in this story. Chelsie and Asa's story is amazing. Chelsie doesn't want anyone to know what's going on with her and once the truth is revealed, everything works out fine. Now I have to read the first 2 books in the series!
Another great read in this series. The author really pulled off these 2 being hardheaded and stubborn. All the characters in this series are so lovable. I'm heading right into the newly released 4th book!
Continuing the Christian vampire series that started with "Forever and a Night", Lana Campbell brings her unique characters to life with every word. I'm enthralled with this series!
Everyone knows about keeping secrets from those close to them it is not an easy task to accomplish. This book goes into detail of what some one would go through keeping a deadly secret. A true page turner.
I have never read a Christian romance, especially a Vampire/Christian romance, but the author made it work. Add the vampire with the Christian and you have a sweet read.
