Royal Attraction is the first book I’ve read by Tiffany Truitt. And I fell in love with it. I chose it because I was excited about a royal romance. It’s a trope I really enjoy. Plus, something about the cover just called to me. It’s the best gamble I’ve ever taken because the book was so fantastic!

England

Alexandra Ryans or Aly, is the daughter of the former American ambassador to England. After the death of her mother and the death of the King’s wife, Aly and her father moved into the Royal Castle. She literally grew up with the three royal sons. They were her best friends, her partners in crime, her constant companions. Aiden is first in line to the throne, the studious Freddie second, and the jokester or wild card of the three, Oliver, third in line. Aly hates being in the spot light, hates being the focus of the press. The only time she is truly comfortable is when she is in motion. Aly is an athlete and she excels at it. Especially the British sport of futball.

woman playing futball

Three years ago something happened which changed everything. It ruined everything. And Aly ran. It also opened her eyes to the one brother that she truly loved, had always loved. She just never realized it. Now, Freddie is getting married, and Aly is forced to return to England. While she was gone, she made some poor choices and is coming back embarrassed. She is no good for the Dudley brothers, her reputation is tarnished. So she would attend the wedding, spend time with her father, then leave. It’s what she had to do.

“They never tell you what happens to the girls the prince doesn't pick in the fairy tales. All the girls he danced with and made hope. What happens to all the girls the glass slipper just didn't fit?”

Ollie Dudley was always the fun one of the three brothers. As they grew older and Aiden was being prepared for his future role as next in line for the throne, Ollie didn’t mind giving the press something to talk about with his antics. He was constantly in the tabloids. It’s been three years since Aly left, three years that he has felt lost. Even if it’s just as his friend, he wants his Aly back, his best friend, the only woman he’s ever loved.

“No, Ollie. I’m embarrassed when I think back to those days, but not because I wish it was him in this room with me. I blush because of all the time I wasted. How foolish I was to not realize it was always you. You who always made it so easy to be me.”

As Ollie and Aly try to find their way to each other, the press is ready. They dredge up both untrue statements and also, some that are true. Things that Aly didn’t want to tarnish this special time for Freddie and his fiance. Things she didn’t want to tarnish the Royal Family. It’s just a reminder that she doesn’t belong here. That she’s a commoner. That she is no good for any of the Dudley brothers.

queen and king crowns

I just fell in love with this book, with Oliver and Alexandra. With all of the characters, really. There were so many heartbreaking moments as Aly and the Dudley brothers struggled for their places in life, where they truly belonged. And there were so many sweet moments as well. I loved that they were the Royal Family of England instead of a made up country. It just made it all the more believable. And I loved that the issues they dealt with were so true to real life, the paparazzi, the tabloids, friends who can’t be trusted. This book was just a wonderful read. I loved it and I hope that you do as well.

“You make everyone better at anything they do, Ryans. You see greatness in even the most inadequate of people and inspire them to believe in it themselves.”

3.5 “Rebel Royal” Stars

ARC via NetGalley.

Thank you, Entangled (Embrace)!

This was a fun read, and a lot less "triangly" (I know that's not a word) than I thought.

I went into this book thinking I'd get a royal love triangle, and while there were some flashback scenes that showed a little of that, the scenes set in the present made it clear that the focus of the romance were Alexandra and Oliver.

The story starts with Alexandra, an American girl raised with the British royal family due to her father's friendship with the King, returning to England for a royal wedding. It's clear early on that she had feelings for two of the King's sons and that caused enough trouble between the brothers that she "ran away" to America.

For me, Alexandra was likable and relatable, despite being super rich and having been raised among royals. I liked that she was into sports (soccer fan here!) and wasn't interested in exposing her life to the media. Her voice was fun and young, and her reasons for staying away from the people she loved seemed valid enough.

Like I said, there are a lot of flashback scenes that showed Alexandra's friendship with the boys and how she began to develop feelings for them. I'm usually not a fan of this going back and forth thing, but it didn't bother me here. I actually liked seeing more of how Alexandra went from dreaming about the older brother (the one who would one day become King) to falling for Oliver, the youngest prince, who also happened to be the one mostly liked to embarass the British crown.

description

While Alexandra was a little more Pippa Middleton than Kate, Oliver was a lot like Prince Harry in his more troublesome years. The third in the line for the throne, Oliver didn't care too much about ruling, so he focused his energy on being the one the media wrote and talked about (we later learn he has good reasons for acting that way). For me, that made him more interesting, because he knew how to shake things up and make them more fun.

In fact, one of the things I enjoyed most about this story was how it made the "less princely" guy the love interest. He wasn't as well-behaved or serious as his older brother, or as smart as the one getting married, but Oliver had a lot going for him and it was obvious he was the right guy for Alexandra.

I also liked seeing a little bit of the friends to lovers trope I love so much, especially in the flashbacks. I was rooting for Oliver and Alexandra to end up together from the very start and I was happy to get that happy ending.

MY RATING: 5/5

I was provided an ARC in exchange for an honest review.

Where do I start with how amazing this book this was?

While I confess that I have a weird infatuation and love for the Royal Family (hello, Kate Middleton!), I'm obsessed with books about royalty as well. Enter Royal Attraction with characters like the womanizer, Oliver Dudley, and the misguided, Aly Ryans. Both have grown up together as best friends behind the palace doors. While Aly loved or adored, Oliver's older and much more responsible brother, Aiden, Oliver was secretly falling in love with Aly as the years pass by. When one night spent together forces Aly and Oliver to confront their feelings for each other, Aly decides to flee, opting for the easier solution to things. After all, running away is easier than trying to figure out what feelings they have for each other.

What I absolutely loved about this book was the flashbacks. The flashbacks were told in such a compelling way that it made the story so much juicer than it was. What happened that night? Did Aiden share the same feelings? Is Oliver lying? Is he a jerk just like what the media paints him as?

Now, let's talk about the characters. Both Oliver and Aly are very similar. They're both very stubborn. Once Oliver's mind is set on something, he's not going to back down from it. If it means that he's going to try his best to convince Aly, he's the one right for her, he's not going to stop the next chapter. Next, we have Aly. She's stubborn and doesn't like to confront her feelings. It got pretty frustrating at one point because she kept running away from Oliver and it was just like can you please just try to hear him out! For once! Please! Just talk it out!

Aside from Oliver and Aly, I fell in love with all the characters involved especially, Aiden and Oliver's brother, Freddie, and his fiance, Sophie. Freddie and Sophie were so adorable with each other. I swooned every time they interacted. In fact, I  was so convinced that Freddie and Sophie had their own story together so I was actually ready  to search and download as soon as I finished but was severely disappointed when Tiffany Truitt told me that there was actually no series???? My heart broke. I want to read how Freddie and Sophie reached their happiness. I want to read how Aiden finds his happiness. I just want my babies to be happy.

MY RECOMMENDATION:

READ IT RIGHT NOW WHAT ARE YOU DOING WITH YOUR LIFE IF YOU'RE NOT READING THIS BOOK????

Super sweet happily ever after royalty romance. Every girls dream is to marry a prince and become a princess. Alexandra grows up in the palace with 3 princes. And who wouldn't want 2 princes to fight over you. Who will Alexandra choose?
Great read by Tiffany Truitt. I look forward to reading more of her books in the future.

Ideal for anyone wanting to escape from reality into a modern day royal fairy tale romance!

Alexander Ryans has been brought up for most of her life living with the British Royal family where her Dad works as an advisor to the King after previously being the American Ambassador. She’s grown up with the three Princes, having her first crush on the eldest son, Aiden, but having Oliver, the youngest son, as her best friend and the one who both supports and challenges her most. At the start of the story, the reader is unaware of the reasons why Alexander (aka Aly or Ryans) left the palace to return to her American homeland. She is now returning to attend the royal wedding of the middle prince, Freddie, to the delightful Sophie. Aly has stayed away from the palace for years and is reluctant to return, especially after having problems in College that she doesn’t want to impact on anyone in the royal household. She only does so after being encouraged to do so by ‘Santa’, who has other roles within the story!

Well written, the story has great characters, plenty of turmoil and twists and turns. The pressures of the press, expectations and so much more are explored through the story which is also packed with wit and humour, making it an enjoyable read and a delightful one to lighten your mood and have you laughing. I hope the author is write another similar story for the only unattached Prince and definitely hope to read that if she does!

I requested and was given a copy of this book via NetGalley and this is my honest opinion after choosing to read it.

Royal Attraction is a cute royal read. It's a bit angsty, and a bit all over the place, but generally engaging with a great all around cast.

Alexandra grew up in the palace. THE palace, the one in the UK, with the three princes. She was their best friend, and their fathers were friends, but she always had a secret crush on one, well, two, of them - Aiden, next in line to the crown, and somehow Ollie, third in line, too. Something happened, though, that caused Aly to run. Now, years later, Freddie, the middle prince, is getting married, so Aly has been summoned back to the palace for his wedding. She can't not go, so off she goes to jolly old England, to see Freddie get married, and to face her demons. But, she's not going back the same girl she was when she left. In the time she's been gone, she's made a lot of disappointing mistakes, and Aly knows even more so now, that she's not fit company for the three princes. But, when you're summoned to the palace, you go, whether you want to or not.

Watching Aly and Ollie fall back into love was sweet, and cute, angsty and a little sad, as Aly and Ollie had to both come to terms with the mistakes both had made. She had to make herself grow up a little (A LOT), Ollie had to grow up, too, and both had to deal with Aiden and what happened back before Aly left. But Freddie and his adorable fiancée, Sophie, were there to give the story a bit of fun and adorableness that Royal Attraction needed. In fact, if a story were written for them, I would definitely read it, they were that engaging and likable. And let's not forget Aiden, the crown prince, next in line. The story wouldn't be complete without mentioning him. I think I loved him even more than Ollie. He had so much pressure on his young shoulders, and he made mistakes just like Aly and Ollie did. But, he admitted them with grace and made me fall in love with him even more. I would read his story in a heartbeat. HINT HINT!

If you like your royals with a bit of heat, a lot of heart, some angst and engaging, likable characters, 1 click Royal Attraction today. It's just the thing if you're looking for a royal escape.

I received an ARC through NetGalley for an honest review.

After speed reading through Seven Ways to Loose Your Heart back in August, Tiffany Truitt landed on my go-to authors lists. So when I found out about Royal Attraction, her latest romance book, I was BEYOND excited - I was bordering on jumping-up-and-down in complete and utter anticipation.

What I Thought Prior to Reading Royal Attraction: I can't possible love another one of Tiffany's book as much as I loved Seven Ways to Loose Your Heart.

The Reality: Yes, I totally could, and that book's name is Royal Attraction.

Royal Attraction is romantic, witty, and emotional. It's the kind of book you tell yourself, "Okay, just one more page..." but that page quickly turns into 20 and then 50 and then all of sudden you're done and you're thinking to yourself BUT THAT'S IT?! I WANT MORE!

Just like with Seven Ways to Loose Your Heart, Royal Attraction contains characters you can't help but utterly love. What I loved most about Allie is how relatable she is. Bluntly speaking, Allie is a complete and utter mess. She's failed out of college. She was involved in a infamous affair with a professor she didn't know was married. Worst of all? She's still running from family drama that happened years ago...family drama that she's going to have to face any day now.

Rather than be turned off by how much of a mess Aly as, I found her to be 100% endearing. She's the perfect representation of any twenty-something - lost and struggling but trying her darn hardest to get her life to where she wants it to be. Better yet, she had an addicting personality. She was funny, honest, and even slightly snarky. I especially admired her willingness to call out Europe's most elite family out on their their BS, because not only was it fierce of her but it was also downright hilarious at times.

With Aly came the the three royal brothers, and while I liked all of them for their own reasons, Oliver Dudley was hands-down my favorite. He was equal parts charming and devilishly arrogant - one minute putting a smile on my face and the next having me internally screaming come on Ollie just be honest and get the girl. What I loved the most about Ollie, however, was his love and loyalty to Aly. He always saw the good in her when no one - not even her herself- could see it. He pushed her to be the best she could be, and challenged her to face her inner demons. Basically, he was a kick a$$ confidant AND love interest.

Talking about love interests, the romance in this was HOT. It's the stereotypical second chance romance, but I loved it all the same, because with Aly and Oliver it was a whole never level of awesome. I enjoyed the little twists Tiffany threw our way regarding their romance, especially in regards to what originally ended it and the unseen sources that still to this day stood in their way. Some of it I saw coming, but other parts managed to surprise me a little.

In all, I can't suggest this one highly to romance readers! I especially suggest this one to fans of Meg Cabot, as Royal Attraction has the wit, charm, and heart of one of Meg's beloved books.

This book is every little girl’s fairy tale dream come true.
Thank you, Ms. Truitt, for reminding me why I loved to read these “Prince Charming” romance books as much as I have in the past. Royal Attraction is an excellent reminder!
Alexandra (Ali) grew up in the palace with the Dudley boys. Her father was the American ambassador to England, and later the Kings friend and advisor. Aiden is the Crown Prince of England was Alexandra’s first crush growing up. Freddie, is second in line to the throne. Then, there is Oliver (Ollie). He is third in line. Being third in line to the throne, Ollie knows he will never be King, so he sets himself up as the Crown Playboy, the media draw, to take the media focus off his brothers. Ollie is also Ali’s best friend, and, unbeknownst to Ollie, the love of her life. She gave him her virginity 5 years ago, causing a rift between the brothers. Ali could not bear to see the brothers as odds, so, she ran to America. Now, Freddie is getting married, and Ali is summoned home to England for her friends wedding.
Ali has made a mess of her life in America. She has failed out of college. Had an affair with her professor, which she has been accused of trading “favors” to for a better grade. And did I mention, unbeknownst to Ali, her professor is married. OOPS.
Ali, Ollie, and Aiden work out their issues, and Ali and Ollie decide to take their relationship forward. All he… heck breaks loose when Ali’s past comes to the press’s attention. Ali runs again, not wanting this to ruin Freddie’s and Sophie’s wedding.
Will Ollie and Ali EVER catch a break? This is a romance book, what do you think??? But, I will not tell you how it comes together…
I loved how Ali and Ollie work out their conflicts, and watch them fall deeper and deeper in love.
This is the first book I have read by Tiffany Truitt, and I have to say, I LOVED EVER WORD!!! I have found a new author to follow and stalk (noooo, not that way! LOL) I want to find out if Aiden is getting his story told as well. Will we find out how Freddie and Sophie met and fell in love? Hmmmm
I was gifted with an ARC of Royal Attraction by the publisher, Entangled Publishing, Embrace via NetGalley for which I am truly grateful, for my honest opinion and review.
Thank you for reading my review. If you love phenomenal romance, what are you waiting for? Hit that one click button 😊

Thoroughly enjoyed this one! Aly and Ollie were such a cute pair and a great opposites attract couple. Aly is the daughter of a former ambassador. A little shy, athletic, and what's nothing to do with the press. Oliver (Ollie) is the third in line to the crown. His brothers have all the pressure. He's the fun one. The jokester, And Aly's best friend. Three years ago everything changed and Aly too off. Now she's coming back to the castle to attend Ollie's brothers wedding and he plans to get her to stay. They find themselves trying to deal with the past, the press, and their feelings for each other. Can they get through all the bad to get to the good??

A great story that I highly recommend.

I can honestly say that I almost did not give this book a chance. After page two I was convinced this book was going to be grammatically and logistically immature. I am proud to say, I kept reading. The story build was fantastic. It kept me in perpetual suspense and dying to know what happens next.

I also liked that this was a unique take and situation regarding a royal family. The characters were relatable, loveable and flawed. The adults acted like adults most of the time and the romance was beautifully set. The smexy times were more emotion than raunchy and written well.

Overall, I did enjoy this story very much.

Ollie really needs to work on his skills, "...His eyes dart away from my face, scanning the crowd. He swallows. Hard. More than once. “You look fine. Good . Fine,” he mumbles before taking a long swig of his champagne." Ollie is quite the helpful guy, "...He pulls my naked, soapy body against him. “Helping you shower,” he growls as his eyes take me in. All of me." I liked this book, I fell in love with Ollie and his personality.

Tenemos a Aiden y a Oliver.

Review from Jeannie Zelos book reviews

Genre:Romance

I'd just finished a pretty tight thriller so wanted something light to read. this seemed perfect but actually it was a little too light and fluffy.

The main issue I had with this story was I just didn't feel the romance, didn't feel any great connection between the couple.
I need there to be lots of in depth romance, but what I got was a few fluffy moments, lots of introspection and looking back.
For much of the time too all the characters acted like they were young teens, not early twenties. It just didn't make for a story I loved.
There were some fun parts, the potential for conflict was there, it could have been so much better. ( For me, I have no doubt others will love it as it is. Che sera and all that...)
It never really felt "real" to me, I didn't get the sense that it was a story that was actually happening, didn't get the "lost in the story" feeling that happens to me with a good book.

There were things I felt jarred, Alexandra has been brought up with the boys since she was a toddler so why do they make such an issue over her speaking "American", she wouldn't would she? Brought up in UK, hearing UK speech patterns she'd naturally follow them. So she wouldn't use American phrases, and when she used British slang it would sound just the same as when the boys do.
It's also brought up frequently how Aiden will one day be King of England - and he won't unless something seriously changes, as it currently he'll be King of UK.

Some of the phraseology was just plain weird.Right back in the start we get "the aroma of gravy and mead wafting through the air. Sunday brunch in all it's glory". Mead?? Mead for heavens sake. Gravy and roast beef, gravy and red wine even but Mead went out centuries ago, only available now as a specialty brew....then there's the way Ollie and Liam keep calling her "Lass" Why? Its more a Scots expression, and felt wrong.
If you're going to set your book in a certain country then you need to make most things match what's expected,  and things like these just felt so out of place.

Stars: Three, a story I wanted to like, but just couldn't rate higher despite the promise it held.

I really liked reading.
Trips to the past mixed with the present gave way to confusion but also made the relationship with princes intriguing.
At first it was difficult for me to empathize with Alexandra for her cowardice, but the more I knew her I managed to understand her reasons for having the impulse to flee when she did not feel capable of facing the situation.
Then we saw how little by little she grew and faced her fears and took responsibility for her actions.
I also liked the teaching she gives about unconditional family love, which she is always ready to support even if bad decisions are made.

Damn book made me cry!

Once again, I'm reminded that I'm an only child and I still long for an older brother.

SPOILER FREE REVIEW

"I'll pretend that seeing you here doesn't drive me wild. I'll ignore all the things my body wants to do to yours. I'll forget the fact that you leaving without a good-bye wrecked me."

I swear I picked up this book because it has modern princes, and it's set in a palace, the palace.

The story was really fascinating. They're three British royal brothers and an American girl who grew up together. They even have their own hangout place outside the palace just to feel normal once in a while. But truly the story points back to Aly who doesn't believe in herself. She thinks all she does is break things, she never does the right things, and she wants to be perfect for the perfect image that the press wants from her. But its's not just Aly who has problems, all four of them do. They're forced to give up a part of their soul for the crown and pretend to be people who they're not. That's always the main problem when one has responsibilities on their shoulder and a role to play. There was a lot of conflict and issues all throughout but the resolution for this book was more than what I could have expected.

England, looking down at me, begging me to help mend his son's relationship when I was the one to shatter it.

Each of the main characters are well created with certain personalities that make them different from each other yet they have some points in common. My favorite character is Oliver (Ollie) Dudley, and not just because he's smoking hot and utterly sexy but he does things for a purpose. He may seem reckless but they are actually well calculated actions. Compared to Aly who's almost like a little whimp and all she knows is how to run away.

A lot of things have changed, but some never will.

I love how this book is written in one person's point of view but it is divided between the past and the present. Also it is labeled at what age, month, and day it happened and there are also the early morning events where it's labeled are 'barely' it makes me laugh sometimes. Shifting from past to present are one of the types of writing style I adore because then it'd be very thrilling when they meet and tie in the end. The writing is also light and easy to read, though sometimes I look up a couple of words. It does uses a lot of British slang that I do not know the meaning off but that doesn't bother me at all.

"Life is incredibly, mercilessly short. There are so many things that come for us that we won't be able to fight. Save your fear for them. But all those pesky other things, the things that nearly destroy us but don't, we always manage to get back up. Always. Our fear is wasted on them."

I would recommend this to those who enjoy reading about princes, or book set in a royal palace and if one is curious about what goes on behind closed doors. If you want your heart to be crumpled a bit, and perhaps a little sweet fun then this is for you. It does have a bit of sexual activities here and there but nothing major since this is a romance and not an erotica.

Be human. Be honest. Be you.

Best advice ever.

Alexandra 'Aly' Ryans escaped to the U.S the moment she believed she ruined her friendships with the three princes she grew up with. But with a royal wedding coming up and everyone expecting her to be there, Aly is returning home to England. However, mingling with royalty means being in the spotlight; something Aly hates and when they discover some things about her past, will it cause her to run again or will she finally stay and face the music so she and Oliver Dudley can finally have their shot at happy ever after?

This is the first story I've read by Ms. Truitt and I've got to say that I loved this book, despite the fact that I thought the hero was an immature brat that needed to grow up and I wished that Aly would have ended up with Aiden instead, even though I knew Oliver was the hero in this book. The way this story started had me empathizing with the heroine, as going home gives her a mix of trepidation and exhilaration in seeing her friends and family. Will things be the same or different? However, it was from the moment that the hero and heroine came face-to-face for the first time in this story that had me feeling sorry for Aly, as it still seems Oliver is still an immature jerk that doesn't know a thing about responsibility and would rather have fun by pulling pranks.

As for the dialogue, it was intense due to the main characters back stories, because Aly was caught between two men in the past in Aiden and Oliver. However, there were certainly some really good light-hearted moments where the main and secondary characters reminisce about the past and tease the heroine when it comes to Aly and her use of british slang. Furthermore, the heroine is resilient and courageous in being able to face the past and hopefully make things right. I also liked the tight bonds she shares with the three princes and how they pretty much welcome her back with open arms, because they've missed her. Seriously, there's so much to like about the secondary characters in two of the princes - Freddie and Aiden; their bodyguard Liam and the prince's governess, Mrs. Wright. While the hero, he's an immature brat at times, but his desire for attention and being in the spotlight is for personal reasons; reasons that are good and a way to help his family. I also liked how determined he was to get the heroine to fight for their relationship, even though there's so much she dislikes about his life, especially how he's always hounded by the media and how he never has any expectations.

Overall, Ms. Truitt has delivered a fascinating and delightful read in this book where the chemistry between this couple was strong; the romance explosive and illustrates just how right these two are for each other; and the ending had me wondering whether Aly would ever be able to forgive herself for her past and fight for her happy ever after with Oliver. Yet, in saying that, I liked her courage and how far she was willing to go to be with the hero, even if it meant facing her fears. However, it was the epilogue that wrapped this story up nicely and had me wanting to laugh because of the surprise the hero has for the heroine and her reaction to the moment, as she's unprepared for what he wants her to do. I would recommend Royal Attraction by Tiffany Truitt, if you enjoy the friends to lovers trope or books by authors Stacy Kestwick, Willow Winters, Staci Hart and Erin Watt.

Alexandra Ryans grew up with the British royal family.  As the daughter of an American ambassador, one of the King of England’s most trusted advisors, Aly’s life was, from a young age, intertwined with that of the princes.  In her teens, Aly harbored a not-so-secret crush on Aiden, the oldest prince, first in line for the throne.  But it was the youngest prince, Oliver, who became her best friend.  It was Oliver who was always there for her.  And it was Oliver who snuck into her heart without her even noticing.

Now, years after fleeing England to avoid a scandal (and embroiled in a scandal of her own back home), Aly is back in town for a royal wedding.  She’s avoided both Ollie and Aiden for three years, but now she’ll need to face her feelings -- and her fears -- head on.

Last summer, I read and absolutely adored Tiffany Truitt’s Seven Ways to Lose Your Heart.  It was the perfect combination of sexy and swoony and heartbreaking and is still one of my favorite new adult books.  I talked about that book so much that I even annoyed myself, so when I saw a new ROYAL ROMANCE by Tiffany Truitt, I knew that I had to request it.  I might have had like eight other ARCs that I had to read first, but I finally got to it and it was good!  I might have liked SWtLYH a tad bit more, but a good road trip/music-based book will always win my heart.  (Pardon my pun.)

As the book begins, we have no idea what happened between Aly and the royal family.  All we know is that she’s been summoned home for her childhood friend’s wedding and she is just dreading going back.  The night in question comes back in bits and pieces through flashbacks from Aly’s point of view.  An argument here.  A kiss there.  A couple princes acting swoony.  It’s pretty easy to piece together the general gist of what happened, but it’s not until the end of the book that we get all of the details.

I, for one, could not decide who I liked more: responsible, selfless Aiden or wild, heartbroken Ollie.  Both of them have their own reasons for acting the way they do and for the various decisions they’ve made over the years.  Although I normally despise love triangles, Tiffany Truitt gave us two strong contenders in Aiden and Oliver.

Overall, I really enjoyed this book.  Tiffany Truitt successfully messed with my heart again and I’m not even mad.  The only real criticism I have is that both guys were so great that I wasn’t even sure who I was supposed to be rooting for.  I hope the other brothers end up with their own books.

I received a free ARC of Royal Attraction from the publisher (via Netgalley) in exchange for my honest review.

Is it that hard to choose between the Heir and the Spare? . . . .

To say I judged this book purely by the title alone is completely true. I love all things royal, be it contemporary or historical, I'm a complete Anglophile and history nerd. So I immediately jumped at the chance to read and review this book to which I can say I am glad I did.

Being the daughter of the U.S. ambassador to England meant Alexandra Ryan's life was already atypical. But when the death of her mother and friendship of the king of England garners her and her father a home within the palace; Now Aly's life will be anything but normal. So in what should have been a fairy tale growing up with the three young Dudley princes as her best friends, turns drastically into a nightmare when more than one Dudley vies for her affection and beings trouble amongst the close knit group. Aly rashly decides to run back to the United States to save what little relationships they still had, but when called back to England out of family obligations, it's clear her heart isn't dead to past feelings and drama quickly ensue when a prince or two comes to her.

Overall, good read that became infuriating at times only because why couldn't the characters just have a row at it and get it all out there! Then again the angst of will it happen or who will she end up with is half the fun. Honestly, I'd have taken all three princes, perhaps Fredrick the most partially due to him being the nerd of the group and the other two would just be a bit above me. My favorite part of this novel was the multiple characters, I felt that each character was exposed enough for me to get to know them, love them, or hate them (*cough, Henry). Buuut I want more I'd love each brother to get a single novel if possible, especially with the whole family and royal change up at the end there. (Read the book and you'll see) So if you like royals like Will and Kate or are interested in Prince Harry envisioning what life would be like living among them, this book will help sate that dream curiosity.

Alexandra/Aly is the daughter of the former American Ambassador to England. After the death of the King’s mother and Aly’s mom. Aly and her dad moved into the royal palace. Aly had grown up with the three royal sons. They had been her best friends, her partners in crime and constant companions. Aidan is the first in line to the throne and Freddie is the second. Ollie was the youngest and jokester and wild one of the three brothers. Aly hates the spotlight. But Aly is an athlete and excels at soccer/futball. Then three years ago Aly found she had feelings for Aidan and Ollie and that caused problems between the brothers so Aly ran off to America. The press dug up a lot of stuff some true and some untrue but Aly didn’t want to tarnish the Royal Family. But it also showed Aly she did actually love one of the brothers. Aly had made some poor choices while she was gone. Her reputation is now tarnished and she is no good for the brothers. Aly had failed out of college, had an affair with a professor that she didn’t know was married. Ollie had been Aly’s best friend. Freddie is getting married so Aly must return to England. Aly plans on going to the wedding, spend some time with her dad and leave again. Ollie didn’t mind giving the press something to talk about. Ollie has felt lost in the three years Aly has been gone. Even as a friend - a best friend Ollie wants Aly back. Aly was the only woman Ollie had ever loved.
I really enjoyed this book. I liked the plot as well as the pace a lot. I did choke up at times while reading this. I like the flashback shown so we understand why Aly left. I don't usually like going between the past and the present but it worked fine in this book. It also showed how feelings had grown and I loved that. I liked how the author made Ollie the love interest instead of Aidan the next in line to be king. I didn’t want to put this down. I loved ollie’s love and loyalty to Aly. I also really liked that there were some twists. I just loved Aly and Ollie together. I loved the characters and the twists in the book and I recommend.

Royal Attraction would be my first read by Tiffany Truitt and plan on it not being my last hope this isn't the last of the Dudleys brothers . The story line drew me in with the little flash back chapters on some major points I became hooked wanting to know what happened . Some characters I liked and others I wasn't shore how to felt . Alexandra and Oliver have known one another their hole lives but one thing happens to have the heroine run away leaving behind her broken heart , in the little flashbacks I wanted to shack Alexandra and have her open her eyes and with Oliver he needed to make his feelings known but understandable why he was hesitant . Alexandra is a great heroine she's returning home after 3 years to attend a wedding and she comes face to masked faced (wink) with the boy now man she ran away from . Oliver is known to be the bad boy of the Dudley boys and when we get to see him for who he is and how selfless he can be it was incredible . The couple are written well together with their love of sports , witty banter , and intense attraction that can't be stopped . Can't wait to read more by this author

Royal Attraction starts out with Alexandra Ryans at the airport getting drunk as she has to go home to England to attend a royal wedding, especially since she basically ran away in the first place, and hasn't been home in 3 years. Not to mention, since she ran, she's made some mistakes that she can't get over. Her father is the U.S. Ambassador to England, so she grew up with the three royal princes. The third in line, Oliver Dudley is her best friend, however, before she left, there was a bit more. Now he looks happy with all of the partying, women, and the fame, but what she doesn't know is that there's one thing he wants the most but cannot have, and that's Aly herself. Will he be able to convince her to stay once she gets there? This is the first book that I've read by Tiffany Truitt, and her talented writing style blew me away, as I couldn't get enough of this book. My emotions were all over the place, because the angst levels & glimpses of the past had me ready to kick some royal behind. I LOVED Aly so much, as she was a girl after my own heart, and I did love Ollie, although I wanted to choke once or twice. This story had me fully captivated cover to cover, and the colorful cast of secondaries kept me laughing hard, especially the hijinks of all of them together. I CANNOT WAIT to read more by Ms. Truitt, and want to beg her to please give us more of the Dudley boys! HIGHLY HIGHLY HIGHLY RECOMMEND!

What happens when your heart belongs to two men? Alexandra could answer that for you, you run away, you get out of town, you ignore any chance of any feelings developing. Ryans, as she is called by Oliver, the youngest prince, thought her heart should belong to the oldest prince. She needed someone who was stable, who would challenge her to be better, and push her. She spent most of her childhood with Oliver, two peas in a pod. Who knew teenage years would complicate so much?

I love the dynamic that is brought to us. We have a woman scared to face the men of her heart. A man in line for the throne that is trying to do everything the right way. A jester. We are shared in the events that took place 5 years prior while living in the present. We get to know the little details that created this triangle of emotions. We get to see the easy flow that Alexandra and Oliver have between them, we see the relationship between the brothers, and how fiercely they love each other and Alexandra.

It was a really good read. The banter between the brothers and them picking on Alexandra for being American kept the story flowing. When Alexandra finally surrenders her heart and lets go of the past it was a nice coming together for them.

This is such an adorable and funny story! Alexandria Ryan is the daughter of the American Ambassador to England and she grew up with the kings sons Aiden, Frederick and Oliver. When Aiden her teenage crush catches her with his brother Ollie he stops speaking to her so she goes to college in America but she flunks out of that after having an affair with her married professor. When Alex is summoned home for the wedding of Freddie and Sophie she really dreads it but for the two weeks she's there she figures she can fake it till she makes it. The problem is that the reasons she left are still there and they still stick together like a family but Alex is afraid she will bring them down and cause the family to fight. Being back for the wedding causes the boys and Alex to get into all kinds of trouble and also causes Alex to confront her feelings. I loved how selfless Alex was when it came to the princes and how she would do anything to make them happy even going out of her comfort zone.

I had high hopes for this book and went into it expecting it to wow me but I’ll be honest it didn’t. It was kind of okay in the beginning and I thought it would get better as the story developed and improved. However I couldn’t get into it as it lacked the interesting story hook that usually gets me into a book.

The characters were likeable but the story itself in my honest opinion let it down. I do think this book is going to be a hit or miss with readers. Some may love this book for how its written and others won’t. I just was not one of those people who liked or loved it.

However I will say this whilst I could not engage with the plot or the story, it was not badly written, it just was not for me. I would say give it a go and see whether it suits you or not.

3 stars

This is the first time I have read any of this authors work, and it will certainly not be the last. Aly grew up with the Dudley boys, and Oliver always had a special place in her heart. Oliver is somebody who is pretty wild and does not care if the tabloids report his antics. When Aly returns after 3 years away, Oliver feels that his life is once again complete. These two are perfect together, but can secrets destroy their relationship? No spoilers; this is a must read, you will not be disappointed!
This is a well written storyline which flows seamlessly, and is also heartbreaking, humorous, emotional, sweet, and romantic. I recommend this authors work for all romance readers.

Usually I'm a big fan of plots about modern fairy tales. All the magic - not so true - about someone of royalty who falls in love with a commoner, and despite all the mishaps, love always triumphs.
In this case here, although the plot is something of the sort, the story didn't make me feel thrilled.
I'm not sure if it was the behavior of the female main character. Although in the end it is given a strong and plausible reason for her habitual behavior.
The Royal family was even interesting, but the romance of the main couple didn't convince me.

Mehhhh...that's how I felt about this story at the beginning and it didn't really dissipate through the book. I mean, it has good parts, I really enjoyed Ollie and the dynamic of the royal family was fun but something about Alexandra that never clicked with me but I pushed through til the end. She does get marginally more tolerable as the end nears but for the most part it's a cute royal romance where the characters have history.
