Rate this book
There's freedom in remembering.

My past is a double-edged sword.
Damned if I remember; damned if I don't.
Recollection beyond the horrors I already have will change me. Change us.
But what if I'm living a lie? What if everything I believe is wrong?
What if who I thought I was isn't real?
If not her, then...
Who am I?
Eddie says it doesn't matter, but deep down, I'm terrified it does.
I'm trapped. Held prisoner by a past I can't remember and a future that may not belong to me.
There's a light, though not at the end of the tunnel...
It's wavering in the distance, calling to me from Rumor Island.
That light, it scares me far more than darkness. Am I brave enough to confront it?
So many questions, so few answers.
I don't have a choice; the truth always finds a way to the surface.
Finally learning who I truly am will be a permanent life sentence.
Total punishment or absolute amnesty.

This review is going to be a no frills, spoiler free review, just go into this series blind, enjoy it as it should be read, love it as many others before me have.

There’s freedom in remembering.

AMNESTY: Is the second book in the (Amnesia Duet) by Cambria Hebert, Amnesia needs to be read before jumping onto this book to fully understand.

This picks up right where Amnesia left off so after reading and loving the first book I put on my stalkers cloak and as soon as this went live I one clicked this baby. The suspense, the waiting, the longing nearly killed me!! And finally that day arrived when I had my own copy in my hands and I was in my happy place inhaling this baby like a drug addict. I could NOT put it down!!

20690346_1433671290047141_6778694987721037058_o

Amnesia still longs for the day that her true identity is revealed to her, fleeting jumbled, distorted pictures flitter through her mind which only not just confuse her more but us readers also but it also keeps us on our toes waiting for the ball to drop.

After glimpsing at a few reviews and noticing a few screamed the plot twist I was prepared but not as prepared for it as I thought I was, a total game changer, if you thought you knew what was going to happen think again, chapter fourteen is a complete game changer.

All those unanswered questions are finally answered, we find out who she really is, it’s finally revealed who kidnapped her, but then delving deeper there’s still some questions that are left unanswered, like how was she kidnapped? Is there not anyone looking for her? Where did she come from? But like Amnesia we’re also left in the dark wondering.

I loved this, probably even more than the first, I loved the suspense, the chaos amongst the love, the game changer that had me biting my nails, the sadness that this series has ended and we have to say goodbye to these characters, such a bittersweet feeling. I’m so glad I took that plunge and tried something different, this isn’t normally a genre I tend to jump on but I got hooked, the uniqueness of the storyline reeled me in, the dark gritty undertone, the romance that blossomed from out of the darkness. Will definitely be seeking out this author again.

Cambria Hebert ties up loose ends in this suspenseful duet. I once again hung on this author’s every word. She did a terrific job slowly unraveling this conclusion. Amnesia is very close to finding out for sure if she is Sadie, Eddie’s childhood friend and first love. These two set sail to Rumor Island and I was shocked at what they found!

Eddie is a fab hero and is face with some incredibly hard choices in this book.

I was expecting a bit more of a background in regards to Amnesia and felt like I needed more answers. Still, the story takes a few unexpected turns, and will definitely keep a reader on their toes.

After that cliffhanger in the first book I couldn't wait to start Amnesty . Unfortunately, I didn't love this book as much as I did the first one. I enjoyed the mystery and the sizzling chemistry between Eddie and Amnesia. I loved their intimacy. The psychological drama was less interesting than in the first book, though. By the time the mystery with the missing girl was solved, the book became less interesting to me. The plot became predictable and a bit lightweight.
Overall, I loved the writing and the author did a pretty great job bringing the characters to life!

In short:

Amnesty is an amazing book! It was everything I hoped it would be and more. I loved every single second I spend reading this book. The cover is so gorgeous and mesmerizing, just like the cover of Amnesia. It was impossible to put this book down. I was already on the edge of my seat with the first chapter. This book has many twists and turns that kept me turning the pages.

The Amnesia Duet is, without a doubt, one of my favorite duets ever. I know I’ll reread it and fall in love again with the story and with Eddie and Amnesia. Eddie and Amnesia are truly incredible characters. Amnesia is such a strong, brave, nice, loving and sweet woman. The few memories she has are terrible, but she doesn’t let them define her life. She wants Eddie and she wants to be with him forever. Eddie is a sweetheart. He’s friendly, caring, protective, genuine and loving. There isn’t a thing he won’t do for Amnesia. Amnesia is his everything.

I adored them as a couple. They are a strong, solid, perfect and beautiful couple. They love each other so much. They support each other. They know each other through and through. Nothing can tear them apart.

I loved the setting! It’s a small town where everybody knows everybody and it has a mysterious lake that brought Amnesia to Eddie. Everybody was nice to Amnesia from the start. The duet has amazing secondary characters. I wouldn’t mind it if there would be more books that take place in this small town. I know whose book I want next.

I did want a little more information about certain things at the end, but that doesn’t keep me from giving Amnesty 5 stars. There was so much that I loved. I highly recommend this duet.

Second book pulls out all the stops. Amazing story and so well told . Intense at times and when the author throws in the twist about 40% into this book it really threw me for a loop. Powerful scenes . Amnesia and Eddie were amazing characters. I was hooked. It is hard for me to read stories about severe mental and physical abuse but this one was handled so sensitively. It all felt very real but there was always hope for a brighter future.
Laughter and tears .😂 😁.

*** ARC GENEROUSLY PROVIDED BY THE AUTHOR FOR AN HONEST REVIEW ***

OH MY FUCKITY FUCK...!!!!
.
What a RIDE.. REVIEW TO COME SOON.. CAN'T FORM WORDS.. BUT I NEED TO SAY THREE WORDS FOR NOW -

FUCKING READ IT...

So the Story begins right after the first Book "Amnesia" ends, which by the way was super awesome. You'd think after the end of the first book, you might start getting to know who Amnesia is and what she went through.

But DAMN.. THIS BOOK.. It had so many more mysteries, more past stories and more revelations.. This book was a lot faster than the first one..and the author covers so much more story. I do not want to reveal anything and it is so difficult to tip toe around the plot..

Amnesia - I have loved this girl. She is such a strong character since the beginning. I love it when the female MC is tough from the start. She has suffered a lot and she still has the strength in her that Eddie falls for. Even though she doesn't remember anything from the past, she values her present life far much. Each day is valuable to her. She is not a Damsel in Distress and I Absolutely love that..

Eddie - Oh Eddie.. He was one of the sweetest male character written by Cambria Hebert. There is bot a single character by this author that I haven't fallen in love with, but Eddie was one of the most interesting character I have read by this author. He is sweet, but he has this anger boiling within him (not in a bad way). He has this welcoming personality for others, but when you are in his mind, you realize how much of it is true.. He is such a complex and important character in this book, and I loved how both the characters had equally important roles.

Plot- This Duet was one of the best Romantic Suspense that I have read this year...It is packed with super solid punches that come out of nowhere. It was gut-wrenching, emotional, full of suspense, so hott , and oh so sweet.

One of the Best Duet I have read this year..If you haven't read the first book, Pick it up and you will jump to this beauty..!!!

ABSOLUTELY LOVED IT..!!!!!

Finally a Novel Worthy Ending

I think that everyone knows by now that I love covers. They quickly grab my attention to a book. Amnesty starts where we left Amnesia ended with a question I feel we all wanted to know is Amnesia really Sadie! Let's just say finding the answer involves, guns, paint balling, becoming a private eye and a lot of sex. Lol!

I recommend this duet to anyone a good book.

wow I really enjoy reading this books.
The beginning was really good and after that when I thought the story was going to be slow and the mystery of is she Sadie or not, was tempting me to have short peek at the end of the book but every thing get interesting all of a sudden and I couldn't put the book down. (And of course I didn't need to peek :D )
And in the end I was expecting a bit more of answers about Amnesia past and felt like I needed more but I should get over it with all I get.

If I could give it more than 5 stars, I would!!!

BEST BOOK I'VE READ THIS YEAR SO FAR!!!

SPOILER FREE- PLEASE CONTINUE READING ME!

After reading and loving Amnesia, I was so fortunate and excited to have won an ARC! I was very ready to find out what happens next in this alluring story....

I was not disappointed, far from it! This story took me on a rollercoaster, I was glued to my kindle!!

Amnesty had many MIND BLOWNING MOMENTS!!! I couldn't believe what I was reading as Amnesia really made me think one way and now my brain was like what!!!!

I didn't think I could love Eddie more, I was proved wrong! He is an incredible man, he has suffered too, all characters have in different ways, his love for Amnesia was incredible to read, his devotion, his protectiveness, his love for her made me fall deeper in love. Amnesia too, I admired her so much in the first book it grew in Amnesty. She goes through more emotionally, physically moments, she persevered. She is a survivor she has gone through so much affliction and is still such a likeable woman.

This epilogue was my favourite epilogue of this year! This book stays with you long after you finish the last word!

I couldn't recommned this duo series enough! I will be re-reading it and discovering more Cambria Hebert books for sure!

She's done it again!!!! What an absolutely thrill of a ride!! It's such a captivating story that I was glued to my kindle screen! I was on the edge of my seat holding my breath waiting to see what was coming next and I can tell you I never ever expected the story to take the direction it did.. I was MIND BLOWN!!!
I went from thinking "OMG.. did that just really happen" to feeling like WHOA that was EPIC and then feeling like your being torn and your heart is being ripped from your chest and you're in tears .. because by this point you've begun to connect to the characters and reading what happened to them .. it breaks your heart!
The writing is amazing you don't even feel like you're reading a book but actually living it because the connection the author creates is powerful... captivating.. you stay hooked until the very end!
The chemistry between the characters is very beautiful and it's strong! Amnesia and Eddy are amazing together.. you really can't ask for a better couple! I love their bond his need to protect her and bravery and strength!
Most of all I LOVE the concept of the story it's so unique, the mystery that surrounds around it and it has something everyone can read and enjoy.. it'll have you coming back for more!!!!

Amnesty is an amazing continuation to Amnesia! I was literally mindblown by the twists that kept coming my way! I loved the writing, the story, the characters. I truly fell in love with this book and I hope someday I'll get to buy the paperbacks as well, because those covers are breathtaking! In this case you can totally judge the book by its cover, because it's as etheral as the outside! Definitely recommend this duology to all my friends!

Amnesia is rocked by the events in Book 1 where her misshapen memories, and a hard-hitting statement makes her doubt her identity as "Sadie". Because she never was Sadie, and Sadie is back - found.

“I was going to have to choose. Here and now. Past or present.
Sadie or Amnesia…
The girl I lost or the girl I found.”
-Eddie

I personally didn't enjoy how it turned into a mock love triangle even though it's safe. Sharing behaviour he once had with Sadie with Amnesia and then back to Sadie when she returns. Even though Eddie still chose Amensia - his guilt and remnants of childhood love played into him consoling Sadie. Maybe I wanted a callous hero, someone to abandon Sadie and choose Amnesia without a flying f*ck.

To feel for one girl without being hounded by guilt.

Yet by navigating Sadie and her disappearance, I feel like no one ever found Amnesia's. What about her life as Lily? Her parents? Her siblings - if she had any. Did they ever search... the author said yes, her identity is not meant to be recovered but I thought it was abit sad to be honest.

I'm disappointed. There was barely any lightness, a large majority of the book was Amnesia crying, on her knees or getting memories and sections of violence. And I personally feel Edward could have done better.

Cross my heart.
Hope to die.
You will be forever mine

Wow.

Just wow.

If you have read my review of Amnesia, you know that I liked the first instalment, but that it didn't steal my heart. Well, Amnesty did the trick. From start to finish I couldn't unglue my eyes from the pages. The narration was fast, romantic and thrilling.

The story starts right after the end of Amnesia, with Eddie and Amnesia going strong but with still many questions going unanswered.

Something I adored about both these books is that the matter "is she Sadie or not?" was always very ambiguous and had me swaying from yes to no for a long while without ever tipping on one side of the other. Until, of course, when the mistery is revealed in Amnesty.

He acted as if he didn't even notice being completely dressed in a shower and me being naked.
It was sort of symbolic, though, wasn't it?
It represented how I always felt with him. Expose. See-through. An open book. Sure, a lot of my pages might be blank, but they were open to him.
And he was clothed, not quite so easy to figure out. Yet as he stood there, becoming more and more saturated, his clothes grew thinner... more sheer.

Another thing that made this book so interesting was a particular dynamic involving Eddie and his being torn into different directions. Never his love for Amnesia wavered, but I could feel his struggle.

So, let's talk about Eddie. My Eddie. Yes, I'm totally calling dibs.
He's perfect. If you asked me to build a book boyfriend from scratch, the end result would be exactly like him. There is nothing I would have changed of him. He's caring to the point of worship, he's sexy as hell, strong and assertive. But, above all, he's protective.

"Under no circumstance would I ever, ever let the woman I love, the woman who is literally a piace of me, get in a boat and row herself over to an island where she might or might not have been held captive and abused. I would rather eat glass and shower with a rusty metal sponge. I will protect you this time. I swear."

You see, this book is definitely darker than anything I've ever read by Hebert and his being protective didn't clash at all with what was happening. It wasn't over the top, because Amnesia DID need protection. Not in a "damsel in distress" kind, but in a "there's a mentally ill psycho who wants me back" kind. So yeah, Eddie's protectiveness was more than warranted.

"I love you. I love you so much I wonder how I breathed before I fished you out of this lake. So much you occupy about eighty percent of my thoughts and all of my dreams. I don't give a flying fuck if you're Sadie. I don't care if you're the queen of fucking England. It doesn't matter where you came from or what you name used to be. Please under that, Amnesia. [...] Understand that you're mine."

As for Amnesia, she's a strong character. In this instalment she is called to face some parts of her past which would bring anyone to their knees and make they lose their mind. But she is strong, determined, and would do anything to dispel the danger they are all in. Even putting herself in the hot seat and having to sacrifice her peace of mind.

There were definitely some hilarious and swoony scene like the paintball game. Not to talk about some super steamy ones. This book lacked anything.

"You're my favorite," I whispered, then kissed her some more.
She giggled, the sound lightening the worst of the heaviness that settled into my chest. "You're my favorite"

The style is flawless and as usual, Hebert's portrayal of love is one of my favorites, if not my absolute favorite. It's respect, sweetness, need, want, tenderness. You can simply feel the adoration the characters have for each other and it's in every gesture, every word, every little detail in their lives. And it may not be realistic, but it's exactly my jam.

I poked him in the nose. "It's light outside."
He groaned.
I poked him again. "I made you some coffe."
One eye cracked open.
"I love you."
Both eyes opened, and I got a smile. "All right," he caved. "I'm up."

And last, but not least, the epilogue. You ever live a moment in your life and feel like everything is covered in a golden hue? Like there's a special warmth surrounding you that is the personification of the affection of your loved ones? Well this is how I felt about Amnesty's epilogue. It wasn't just perfect, like a foregone conclusion put there to appease us readers and give us a peek into their HEA. It was the completion of their journey, the golden happiness of unconditional love and being around a loving family. Utter adoration and future promises.

The certainty that beyond the words "The End", life will go on forever in a perfect happily ever after.

You're the only one I will climb into a shower for, fully dressed. The only girl I would love an arm over trying to get into your elevator. Yours are the only lips I want to kiss. The only one I reach for when I wake up in the morning. Your body is the only one mine craves."

“I don’t see them when I look at you, Amnesia. Obviously, I know they’re there. My fingers have felt them, and so have my lips. But they aren’t you. I don’t see these scars when you’re naked before me. All I see is the woman I love, and to me, you’re perfect.”

I love good mystery and suspense and this book delivered both.
Brilliantly written! I read it in one sitting.

Amazing hero
I loved how he loved her. So many deep beautiful moments, many touching lines.
Even after the twist at 37% I never doubted him. Not once!

“There is one thing you will always be able to count on. One thing that will never change,” he told me.
I tilted my head to the side. “That the sun will always rise?”
He shook his head. “More surer than that.”
“More surer?” I echoed.
“The surest.”
My fingers played in the wet curls at the base of his neck. The blue of his eyes was so bright everything else looked black and white.
“How much I love you,” he whispered, resting his forehead against mine. “That will never change. Ever.”

Amnesia is one of my favorite heroines.
The girl was a fighter and I respect people, who don’t give up.
She was wound, but not broken. I honestly adored her. She wasn’t my typical strong heroine; she was vulnerable, her past nearly broke her, but she was a warrior. Even her doubts and some not very clever decisions didn’t ruin her character for me. They made her only human.
One of the female characters I not only loved, but also lived while reading the book.

The twist at 37%... I didn’t see it coming. I had my assumptions, but it took me by surprise.
I didn’t like it, but it fitted into the story.
I won’t reveal anything, I only say there was OW drama. I wouldn’t call it love-triangle, but I guess some of the readers may dislike it.
You can PM me, if you want to know more. But I would suggest to go blind into the story and give it a try.
As I said, I never doubted his love for the heroine. Not once.

Unfortunately I didn’t get all my answers. But in this case it was ok.
The conclusion was still satisfying.

I may start to complain about some not very clever MC’s actions: why did they go to the island alone? Why didn’t they involve the police more? I would also prefer more background on the villain(s), his/their ending was abrupt.
And I wished for a HEA for a side character/one of the drama catalysts, my heart broke for this person. This side of the story was a bit unfair.

Beautiful epilogue, but (please forgive me) a bit cheesy.

Safety

“I love you. I love you so much I wonder how I breathed before I fished you out of this lake. So much you occupy about eighty percent of my thoughts and all of my dreams. I don’t give a flying fuck if you’re Sadie. I don’t care if you’re the queen of fucking England. It doesn’t matter where you came from or what your name used to be. Please understand that, Amnesia.” I leaned my forehead against hers, felt her indrawn breath. “Understand that you’re mine.”

Genre: Romantic Suspense

Towards the middle of the book I got really scared that it was going in a direction I would not have liked. Thankfully, I was only put on edge for a little while and it didn't go that way. Wipes sweat of forehead"

WOAH!!! Cambria, you took me through the ringer with this one! I was so wrapped up in this book that I couldn't put it down for a second. I felt all the highs and all the lows. I was happy, sad, and chilled to the bone! It's simply put, that good! If your a fan of romantic suspense novels I would recommend grabbing a copy of this duet. It's free with a kindle unlimited subscription if you have one. It tells the story of a woman who has amnesia due to a horrific experience in her life and finding the person responsible. Along the way, she finds love with a man named Eddie who may or may not be someone from her past and slowly begins to heal. But then like the twist of a knife, things come back to haunt her. Things that could change her life and her relationships forever...

Overall, I really enjoyed this novel (and the duet as a whole). Cambria Hebert is in the top 5 list of my favorite authors of all time and I devour her books like candy. Clearly, she is a fabulous writer otherwise I wouldn't say this. So grab a copy of these ones if you haven't already. They are fast paced (can be read in a day if you have some time laying around) emotional, dark, and so much more!

Things I liked:
- Despite the back and fourth going on in Amnesia's head, she has found true love in a man that she never thought she could have (for reasons pertaining to the plot, not that she's not good enough or deeply insecure)
- The love exuding from Eddie and the way he protects her until the bitter end. There are moments when readers are going to be hanging by the edge of their seats wondering which way his heart will pull him, but it's clear as day how real and powerful his feelings are. Cambria does a fantastic job at making us feel what he does.
- The sense of community love that pours from the townspeople
- The twist (I won't spoil it but I will admit I was scared for a little while as I didn't know how the twist was going to turn out)
- The ending (sigh, it was downright heartfelt and beautiful)

Things I Disliked
- I feel like both books were pretty intent on figuring out what exactly Amnesia was (is she Sadie, or not) but in the end, we are left in the dark. It would have been nice for her to get the closure from knowing who she truly was (and closure for myself, obvs. LOL) but it was missing :(
- I wanted to know what became of another character (can't say who, sorry!) but there wasn't much written about it here. It would have been a nice second epilogue in my opinion.

Wow what an amazing conclusion.

From start to finish I was dying for answers. Answers I needed badly! I was so emotional about the whole story. I was rooting for Am so bad, I needed her and Eddie to find their peace. Eventually they did and it was beautiful! I really want to cry right now while writing this because of how invested I was in this couple, I rooted for their love so hard!

Eddie was the perfect boyfriend, always caring and loving. Selfless when it comes to anything that has to do with Amnesia. She was his number one priority and he would have done anything for her and he did! He put his life on the line for her.

Amnesia was dealing with a lot in this book and I felt everything she did. The jealousy, anxiety, curiousness and just the need for answers! I love her character so much, Cambria wrote her so well! I loved how relatable she was even though her circumstances weren't. I still laughed at her obsession for reality tv something I'm totally obsessed with myself! Those cute moments when she didn't know what certain things were, all of that was just heart warming and cute!

There was so much angst in Amnesty, a lot more than in Amnesia. At times it was like watching a movie! Imagine me screaming at my kindle and messaging Cambria using all caps because of how heated and scared I am! LOL

Things like that make a book memorable though. The feelings Cambria provoked with her words is what is going to keep this story and these characters in my mind for months to come. That is what is going to make me annoying my friends and tell them how this duet is a MUST READ!

Re-read. Still wishing I can give this 1000000+ stars! This book is not for the faint-hearted but... I am one😅.
The author wrote this duet with care and in a sensitive manner but whew!! she made me cry again. 🤧

***spoiler*alert*warning***

⚠️Major spoilers ahead. Read at your own risk.⚠️

Is there cheating? NONE in any form.

The moment H fell in love with h, he knew there was no going back for him whoever h is. When the other girl appeared, H was there for her cuz they're friends and he felt responsible for that tragic night years ago. And this is a 1st person, dual/shifting POV; so I saw and I felt the depth of H's love for h.
If H could trade his life for h's, he would've in a heartbeat cuz seeing her agony whenever flashes of memories return, broke him– and me😭!!
They're both stronger cuz they have each other.

Just like H, I (as a reader) wanted to protect h from her painful memories, and I only had a glimpse of it.
Her mind used the most powerful defense for h. It protected her, it disconnected her from the horrors of her past.

I'm curious of her life pre-abduction but not enough to risk any trigger of h's painful memories.
So for that, I'm happy and I understand with what the author did. 😊

Hold on tight book lovers because Cambria Hebert is back and about to blow your mind with the conclusion to her unique and brilliantly conceived Amnesia Duet. If you haven’t already read the first book, Amnesia, you need to backtrack and do so now. A duet is nothing without two.

You’re not going to find any spoilers in my review. I don’t retell stories. The book blurb gives you all the enticement you’ll need.

Good Golly Miss Molly – right out of the gate, this book pushes readers into an adrenaline rush. The author has double downed and revved up the intensity in both the romance and suspense categories to blast the covers off this on-the-edge tale of survival and unconditional love. She kicked up the heat and sizzle to high between Eddie and Amnesia, or is she Sadie?

Filled to overflowing with totally unexpected events and jaw-dropping moments, I was in a state of anxiety for 90% of this book. The unknown seemed to lurk in and around every corner just waiting for that perfect moment to expose all its darkness and secrets.

"You’re drawn to the water just as I am."

"It definitely has a pull."

The mysterious uniqueness surrounding the plot and the magic in each word adds a powerful strength to every part of this story. Rumor Island’s isolation and the eerie and dark waters of the lake surrounding it, and its pull on both Amnesia and Eddie is a mystery throughout. It sent cold chills up and down my spine. There seems to always be a sense of urgency — like a ticking clock counting down the minutes until the bomb explodes.

Amnesia is resolute in her need-to-know the answers to who she really is and how she ended up a prisoner on Rumor Island. Definitely a survivor — and a strong and genuinely kind person. She loves Eddie, but still questions if he loves her for herself, or is it because he believes he’s finally found his beloved childhood friend, Sadie. This dilemma has put stumbling blocks in the way of Amnesia’s ability to move forward into a more permanent commitment with him. A trip back to the island and a face-to-face with her nightmares may be the only way to unlock her memories and find those answers.

Eddie is still in protector mode, but even more magnificent if you can imagine. This cool, calm and all around good guy has definitely got game – and he uses it well. He’s been in his own hell through the years — blaming himself for Sadie’s disappearance and missing her with all his heart. And now he’s facing some difficult choices.

"There’s freedom in remembering."

My only complaint would be that I would have appreciated a little more of Amnesia’s background. I felt there were too many loose ends left hanging and not enough memories restored to completely satisfy me. But hope springs eternal and, hopefully, we’ll find ourselves returning once again to Lake Lochlan. And perhaps then, we’ll get ALL the answers — especially with more than one character’s past still not fully uncovered. Please say it’s so, Cambria Hebert.

When I first read Amnesia I was floored. I thought there was no way Cambria could go beyond what she already did with that book. I thought I'd pick up Amnesty and get a good easy ending to Eddie and Amnesia's story. I thought wrong. Amnesty goes far beyond the incredible work that Amnesia was. I had moments when my heart was racing and I thought I needed to step away from my kindle, but I could not put this book down. The twists and turns and utter shock that I felt were incredible. It was like being on a roller coaster while blindfolded. Aside from the suspense and mystery that is Amnesia, there was also complete heartbreak. The tragic painful experiences that these people went through for years with no hope absolutely gutted me. What was endured by them is made even more terrifying because it feels so real. You can feel down to your bones what Amnesia suffered at the hands of her captor. The most important (in my opinion anyway) of this book though, and the thing I took away was that love really can concur all. Through everything, all the shock, all the pain, all the confusion, Eddie never once wavered in his love for Amnesia. If anything that love grew to be the strongest force in the world. They have a true, deep undying love that people spend their entire lives praying for and getting to see them get their well deserved happy ending was a thing of true beauty. Trust me when I say if you haven't yet you need to read these two books.

Although I am giving this book 5 stars, the conclusion to the Amnesia Duet, it still comes with some flaws. I was pretty freaking speechless when I finished up this serious mystery thriller with just a hint of romance!! The cliffhanger that we were left with in Amnesia just continued to get deeper and crazier in Amnesty. Amnesia continued to be this character that wanted to be strong and independent but couldn't because she just didn't know what was in her past. Eddie remained this swoon-worthy protector that wanted to love the woman he rescued from the lake but struggled with his secrets from past events. Throughout this entire conclusion I found myself gasping with every new revelation that was thrown into the mix. The one and probably only flaw that I had was during the reveal. I felt like it was just a little to quick and I wanted a bit more depth into the whys of it all. Overall, it was an AMAZING mystery thriller with some major things that caught me right in the heart.

This was a thriller. I completely disengaged from the romance entirely. I was caught up entirely in the mystery of what happened in this book and I can't share a thing. It will ruin it for you. So I will simply say, this book, is no easy read. In fact it reminded me greatly of those 3 missing women in Detroit for 10 years and how incredibly ill it made me. This is an uncomfortable book with, however a happy ending. The first book was romance, but I really wasn't focused at all on it in this one. To me it's a thriller, heartbreaking, heart wrenching and a good mystery. I will recommend it for that but it's not an easy read. So have caution.

I had enjoyed the first book of this series as I love amnesia trope stories. Book #2 however, I didn't find as enjoyable as the first as in places it seemed to drag on a bit. In this book, Amnesia is recently out of the hospital after being attacked by the little old lady. She is trying to get her memory back as the old lady whispered to her that she's not Sadie. If she isn't Sadie then who is she? As the book goes along, Amnesia starts to get flashes of memories and along with Eddie's help the pair head back to the island and when they get to the island - they are in for a big surprise which btw readers, I'm not going to spoil. When they return home with the truth, I was hoping that we would find a bit more about who Amnesia really was and maybe some deeper backstory. This book does end in a massive twist, that I did not see coming and was like OMFG, seriously. I did understand the ending, but in a way, this series did not go the direction I had expected it too but sort of went a bit off track for my liking and still left a few unanswered questions even at the very last page. We need one more book in this series to tie up all the loose ends of the characters I feel.

In the conclusion to Amnesias story, we get more details on her life, where she had been, bits and pieces of what had happened to her, and maybe a small glimpse into who she is. (This is book 2, you HAVE to read Amnesia before reading Amnesty, it's a duet). And her story, broke my heart. The pain of not remembering. The raw and crippling pain of actually remembering, living those memories all over again. Both suck, both hurt, and both could just save her life.

If you've read Amnesia, you know that she was washed ashore battered and beaten, near death when Eddie found her. She was abducted and held captive, proceed with caution if finding out things that happened to her would cause you to be uncomfortable.

----My life felt altered. Irrevocably so. The bits and pieces of memories I had were upsetting. But yesterday. That had been near devastating. Those bits and pieces came together, revealing a bigger picture. A horror picture no fully. sane person could ever paint.
I knew my name now—well, my first name.
It wasn’t my name, though. It was the name of the girl who lived before me. The girl who lived and ultimately died at the hand of a madman.

My heart really hurt for Amnesia as she got flashes of memories of what had happened to her. For so long, her mind was protecting her. Keeping her safe from remember horrible things that happened to her. But as some some events take place, small memories start to reveal themselves, memories that are necessary for her survival. Things happen, secrets are revealed and the people of Lake Loch will never be the same again. This face paced conclusion is not to be missed!

One thing I love about Cambria's writing is her ability to write a great hero. As much as I love Amnesia and her character - watching her growth, her determination to remember and her courage to face the horrors of her past, I love Eddie a little more.

Eddie is fierce in his protectiveness, his loyalty is unwavering and his love knows no bounds. He is the kind of hero that you just fall in love with at the beginning and by the end of the story, you love him even more.

---“There is one thing you will always be able to count on. One thing that will never change,” he told me. I tilted my head to the side.
“That the sun will always rise?”
He shook his head . “More surer than that.”
“More surer?” I echoed.
“The surest.”
My fingers played in the wet curls at the base of his neck. The blue of his eyes was so bright everything else looked black and white.
“How much I love you,” he whispered, resting his forehead against mine. “That will never change . Ever.”

I really loved the conclusion, it very well written. Whereas I thought Amnesia started out a little slowly, Amnesty is much more fast paced and kept me glued to the pages. If you like things a little on the darker side, give this duet a chance!

Man, oh man, oh man, oh man. I'm not even sure where to start with this book. It was so full of twists and turns and amazing revelations that I don't know exactly how to put into words they way that I feel about it.

I have always been a fan of slasher movies. They're thrilling and crazy and make you search for the truth and understanding of the story. This is how Amnesty (and the Amnesia duet in general) was for me. The book was very much like a slasher-type movie. It was thrilling and full of mystery and suspense.

Amnesty begins pretty much right where Amnesia left off. Am and Eddie are still filled with confusion about her true identity (is she or isn't she Sadie?) and still in the throws of passion. They find themselves in an insane situation, trying to figure out who she is, and attempting to not let that affect their relationship.

In the meantime, Amnesia is still being rattled by spontaneous memories that seem to be triggered by random moments in her new life and leave her feeling defeated and weak, yet a little bit closer to the answers she so desperately seeks.

Amnesty was amazing to read because we finally got answers to every question we had from book one as well as a deeper look into what life was like for Amnesia on Rumor Island. More was revealed about Widow West and how she truly played a role in the disappearance of Amnesia and how she fit into the story thereafter. We also got to find out the identity of Him.

This book is a lot darker than a lot of Cambria's other books. The things that are done to Amnesia are horrible and disgusting but they're a vital part of the story and truly paint of picture of how strong Amnesia really is and how her body and mind went into survival mode to keep her alive and somewhat sane.

The Amnesia Duet is dark and haunting and a truly great read for anyone that loves thrilling, myserious books with a slasher-style quality. I really couldn't get enough of them. Lake Loch is definitely my favorite fictional place of Cambria's and I really, really wish I could visit it again. I can't wait to get my hands on physical copies of these books so I can see them on my shelves. Such a great duet.

Words cannot express how much I enjoyed this duet, and honestly just Eddie. My god he was the sweetest thing. I LOVED HIM!

This book was harder to read and way more emotional than the first one, even more so than one would expect. There was a huge twist that you never see coming until it's upon you, and I both loved and hated it. It was a hard pill to swallow for everyone, readers included. But this duet was amazing and I loved this couple sooo much. They were the cuttest together and with each other, there were so many swoon moments between these two.

I was super lucky to win an ARC from a giveaway on Cambria Hebert FB author page and I have never been more excited. And Can I just say that both the covers of Amnesia and Amnesty are to die for. They are beautiful and I can not wait to get my hands on a hard copy of Amnesty.

Amnesty is book 2 of the duet Amnesia series and I LOVED this story and I strongly recommend this series to anyone that loves a lot of romance and suspense!

We meet Am and Eddie in book 1 and book 2 in a continuation of their story. We find out all the answers to the unanswered questions of book 1 but understand book 1 is a complete story.
I feel like Amnesia was more about Am and Eddie finding each other but Amnesty is more about trusting in each other and oneself. I have to admit, Eddie in Amnesty is something else. His words of affirmation and love towards Am made my heart pitter patter HARD and Am has such a loving spirit!
I say this is a must read series!!!

Book and series of the year so far for me!!!!

The conclusion of Amnesia and Eddie's story. Amnesia escaped the clutches of the widow of Rumor Island and now she is in deep with Eddie but the girl needs and wants answers. She was told she isnt Sadie, than who is she? The island holds the answers and after seeing what looks like a moving light on the island it is time to find out.

What they find is definitely NOT what they expect and will lead to a slew of new issues and obstacles to overcome for the couple.

I would say more but I fear anything I may say will give away one of the many twist and turns this books ill take you on.

WOW! Just WOW! When I was done that is what I said to myself!

Easy 5 stars!!!!
