Snake Thirty years ago I had everything I wanted until one drunken night destroyed it all. Twenty-four years ago my life was destroyed once again. My daughter was taken from me and there wasn't a damn thing I could do about it. Now I have my daughter back and the life I lost all those years ago. Seems like everything should be perfect, right? Wrong. As secrets unfold, people get crossed and lives are changed forever. Will I be able to hold everything together? Will I gain new beginnings or lose again? Will two motorcycle clubs still coexist when everything is said and done? This book is intended for 18+ due to subject content Quiet Country Satan's Sinners MC Book 2 should be read first.
****Warning**** This novella is potentially triggering for victims of domestic abuse.
Double Crossed by Colbie Kay was a Cobras MC novella; which I’m hoping meant the introduction to a new series.
Snake was the President of the Cobras MC. We met him within the Satan’s Sinners MC series. The two MC’s had been allies so we learned quite a bit about Snake. I loved him then and now even more.
Vitoria was also introduced in the Satan’s Sinners series. No spoilers, but she was the long lost mother to one of the patched members.
Snake and Victoria had history. They were first loves gone wrong. They were separated for years until a chance meeting between their children. Kay took us back to the beginning filling in all the details and catching us up to the present.
As sad as it was, I loved the story. However, as a novella, it left us with a pretty big cliff hanger for the series and many gaps that need to be filled in. It read more as the first few chapters of a bigger book. At the moment (a year after the release) there are still no other books in the series, which would be a big disappointment. Hopefully Kay will start developing the series soon. This series has great promise and I can’t wait to see what happens next.
This is one messed up book. It's not dark or anything there is domestic abuse so be warned but the situation of Victoria and Snake is a total poop storm.
In love at 17 Victoria found her forever until one night she found out she actually hadn't. Snake was just that. Running in to the arms of another man in another MC she made a huge mistake. Leaving her child behind to save her own life knowing he wouldn't hurt their son she fled. Now back at her old place not only is her son there but so is Snake.
Snake screwed up and he's paid dearly. The woman he has only lived is back but now what? He betrayed her. Maybe the past can stay there or maybe it gets worse.
This was so messed up crazy good. Loved the story the characters and the supporting characters. Hank you for the ARC! I apologize for the not timely review as sickness too over! Review to post to Ramblings From Beneath The Sheets!
Victoria is tired of being the good girl and when she meets Snake he is the perfect person to help her be bad. Snake is a member of the Cobra’s MC and is immediately pulled in by Victoria. Just when things are going great and Victoria has fallen in love with Snake there is a huge twist. Due to a jealous friend and a very bad drunken mistake by Snake he loses Victoria.
I believe that sometimes people are brought into your life at certain times when you need them most. You may not realize it at that moment, but they enter your world for a reason.
Grieving for her lost love, Victoria meets Josie who quickly becomes her new best friend. She also meets Bulk. We jump ahead a few years to Victoria in an abusive relationship with Bulk, he has changed for the worst over the years. She is forced to leave without her son.
The story moves forward a few more years. Things have changed immensely and Victoria decides to return home to see her son. He is very reluctant to allow her back in his life, but he’s working on it. There is also a huge surprise moment when Victoria comes face-to-face with Snake. This reunion was so great, I loved it. Will they finally get their HEA?
The secondary characters were great. This is my first read from Colbie Kay and I loved it. I can’t wait to read more from her. If your looking for a great 2nd chance romance this is the book for you.
Note: there are some abuse scenes that could be triggers for some.

This is the first book I've read by Ms. Kay and I will be reading more. From the beginning you would think that it's a typical MC story where the biker gets girl's best friend pregnant, his girl leaves and so on but this was much more than a typical cheating story. It's a story about love, betrayal and second chances.
Snake meets Victoria when she was just 17 and hops on the bike of a perfect stranger (Snake). He is prospecting for the Cobra's MC. They spend the afternoon together and he subsequently picks her up from her Catholic school daily. They relationship is going great until he admits he slept with her best friend before they were even together. When she finds out she is upset and stormed out of the clubhouse then that's when all the sh*t hits the fan and Snake sleeps with her best friend again getting her pregnant. This is too much for her Victoria and she has to leave severing all contact with Snake.
Still grieving over Snake's betrayal Victoria hooks up with another biker. They get married and have a baby but then he turns abusive. When she just can't take the abuse anymore she is forced to leave her baby boy behind and get out. She only comes back into his life when he is grown and having twins of his own with his wife. He was raised in the biker community and doesn't want to forgive Victoria easily. She goes on a play date with her grandchildren and bumps into Snake at the play date with his grandson. Old feelings come to the surface. Will they be able to find their happily ever after after decades have past?
** I voluntarily read an ARC of this book in exchange for an honest review **
Double Crossed is a novella crossover between the Satan's Sinners MC and the Sinning Cobras MC series by Colbie Kay. If you have not read the Satan's Sinner MC series or at least book 1 City Lights then you won't understand all the parts of this story. This is a second-chance love story full of heartbreak, betrayal, and finding love again. Snake is the president of the Cobras MC and Victoria is a rich girl that he fell in love with. We've met them both in the series already and this is their story. Snake and Victoria loved each other as much as they could but unfortunately, they both had people that didn't want them being together. Victoria was betrayed by her jealous best friend Marie and Snake was betrayed by one of his brothers. After being torn apart Victoria leaves and finds herself a new family with the Satans Sinners MC. At first, she was just getting over her broken heart with Bulk until she realized she was pregnant and didn't know if he or Snake was the father. Snake ends up having a daughter Jacey who becomes his world and Victoria has a son Dominic. Both do not get a happy ending though when Marie leaves with Jacey and he doesn't see her again until she's an adult. And Bulk becomes abusive to Victoria and when he finds out she plans to leave he kicks her out and keeps Dominic. Fast forward decades and they finally see each other again thanks to their children and possibly get their happy ever after finally. I gave this book a 3-star rating and a 2-spicy rating because it didn't seem like a full story to me. Yes, it was supposed to be the story of Snake and Victoria but I would have liked to have more of their lives separately included to see how they became who they were when they saw each other again. I'm a huge fan of Colbie Kay's and her Satan's Sinners MC and I'm really glad she did come out with this story since it was nice to fill in some of the gaps I've questioned.
This was an intense, intriguing story that certainly answered a lot of questions about things that happened &/or were said during the Satan's Sinners MC series. I know that this is about the Cobras MC, but with the ties between the clubs, it's inevitable that there were a lot of secrets along the way. I would highly suggest that you read the Satan's Sinners MC series prior to reading this, at least that's my opinion. It's a fantastic series, and you certainly don't want to miss it. I would like to see more about the Cobras & the SSMC. I would definitely recommend this book, series, and outstanding author.
Snake, the President of the Cobras MC and Victoria, who is Hanger the President of Satan's Sinners estranged Mom. Their story starts in 1985, Victoria will be turning 18 in a few months and she can't wait to get away from her obnoxious mother. She meets a young man named Snake who is 20 years old and a Prospect for the Cobras MC. The two of them fall madly in love with each other but they keep their love a secret because her mother is a total bitch. Shit goes side ways for They and they both end up with horrible partners, each of them never getting over the other. 30 years later and they're both single ? I love the Satan's Sinners series and I'm looking forward to more of this one.
In this book you get the backstory of Victoria aka Vixen and Michael aka Snake. You find out what happened to their relationship and how they got back together. You also find out about Hanger aka Dominic. I hope that there will be more books about the cobras mc.
A decent story that is a quick read. Snake and Victoria's start is told in this. The ending almost didn't feel like an end and some things felt left open. It's overall a good read.
When two souls were meant to be, but your crossed by not only your BFF, but the one man your soul belongs to where do you go?
Victoria thought she'd found her soul mate in Snake...little did she know her best friend was also out for the man herself. Her jealousy of Victoria and Snake takes things to a whole new level of betrayal.
Snake fell hard for Victoria, was willing to give him the world until one night ruined it all. He had to pay for the sin of his unintentional betrayal for more years than he should have.
Victoria met Snake when she was 17, they were the couple in hiding, she was willing to risk it all for him. On the night she decided she didn't want to hid them from her family she walked into the clubhouse and was devastated at what she'd learned. She fled only to come back a few weeks later willing to give the love of her life a second chance. As she and Snake grew closer and more in love another secret came out shocking them both. Only this time there were no other chances to be given. Victoria fled and right into the hands of not only another MC but of another man. One she would give years to but not her heart. Devastation, betrayal and abuse had her fleeing from that life all together. She ends up leaving her son behind to save her life, but when her abuser passes some years later she returns home to try and claim the son she gave up. Only, she wasn't welcomed with open arms from said son...Hanger, only to find her one true love (Snake) there...
True love...can it conquer all after years of separation and heartache? Colbie answers questions of why Victoria ran leaving Hanger behind and gives us a new love story to enjoy.
So I have to say I was so excited when I heard that Snake was getting his own book. There was something about him that I wanted to get to know better. I would recommend though if you haven't read Mrs. Kay's Sinner's Series, you may want to read some of those to understand who Snake is. Though I guess at the same time you could read this as a stand alone, but you might be confused who other people in this story are.
So Snake and Victoria are no strangers to each other. In fact they used to be a thing year's and year's before, but due to unfortunate circumstances. Untrustworthy friends and the in ability to just talk to each other made them go in different directions. And they both certainly didn't have any easy journey to come back into each other's lives.
I really don't want to give any spoiler's away which would be way to easy to do for this book. But I will say this I really liked Snake and Victoria together. And even though their lives went in separate directions, I'm glad that they could find each other again and finally have the HEA, which they should have already had a long time beforehand.
I will say that the only thing that really bugged me about this book is that I feel like the end was sort of rushed. But other than that I really enjoyed it. I devoured it in one setting. I also wish it had been a full length book, but hey I'll take what I can get. This book had everything I loved about a book in it, the drama, the angst, the secrets.
I'm giving this book 4 Stars out of 5!!!
***I voluntarily read an advanced readers copy of this book for my honest opinion***
This is the first novella in the Cobras MC series by Colbie Kay. This author has a way of totally pulling you into her stories and making you feel like you're a part of them. If you've read the Satan's Sinners MC series than you're familiar with their allies the Cobras MC. This book is about Snake, the President of the Cobras MC and Victoria, who is Hanger the President of Satan's Sinners estranged Mom that he's just reconnected with. The book starts out in the spring/summer of 1985, Victoria will be turning 18 in a few months and she can't wait to get away from her overbearing Mother. She meets a young man named Snake (Michael Thomas) who is 20 years old and a Prospect for the Cobras MC. The two of them fall madly in love with each other but they keep their love a secret because her mother is a judgmental bitch. Shit happens and the two of them break up and there's tragic consequences for both of them. They both end up with horrible partners, each of them never getting over the other one. What happens when they run into each other 30 years later and they're both single again ? I love the Satan's Sinners series and I'm looking forward to more of this one.
Victoria and Snake fell in love when she was a naive 17 year old girl, but a betrayal broke them apart. It was so heartbreaking that she ended up in the arms of another MC man. Unfortunately, life wasn't done destroying her, and she ended up losing everything when she ran again from brutal abuse. And it's many years later when she runs into the man she never stopped loving. The storyline was great, while keeping me captivated, however, it was too quick for me. I didn't have time to really imprint on the characters, so my emotions weren't fully engaged at a dramatic level. If the length had been longer, I do believe it would have been the perfect read, as I see a talented writing style in Colbie Kay, and want to read more by this author asap. I'm not one who gripes about stories that obviously I can't write, as it makes me sad to do it, but on a positive note, I can say that I didn't put it down until the very end, and CANNOT WAIT to read more by Colbie Kay! (<-Yes I said it twice because I mean it!)
Victoria hates her life she has always been the good girl doing what she was told until that fateful day when she ran into Snake. Tall, handsome, and tattooed he was just too bad to resist the temptation. What happened next was like a fairy tale at first everything was perfect love seemed to be endless then she was betrayed, and instantly her heart was broken. So what does she do, Victoria moves on with her life, but nothing will ever compare to what she had with Snake. Will she ever find love again or will she be forced to wonder what if for the rest of her life? You will just have to read this wonderful romance to find out. The sex in this story is tactful and we'll write it is woven into the story well and is part of the narrative instead of being the main focus. I would recommend this to any romance lover who wants a solid quick read with, a lifetime lived, a lover lost, and found again. This book is filled with an emotional roller coaster that will keep you turning the pages all night and make it so you want to start it all over as soon as you are done.
What an amazing second chance at love story that spans a lifetime. This book is well written with a wonderful storyline. They are young when they first meet, she 17, he 20, but they end up with a love that will carry on for years to come, even though they are broken apart and their lives deal them hands that are meant to break them even more, life has a way of making the wrong right. These two, Snake and Victoria were meant to be together, made for each other but jealousy and hatred steps in and ruins their future. An attempt to ease the pain she feels puts her in the arms of another, but her love has never really faded. It's years before they finally lay eyes on each other again, and the love is still there.
This book will run your emotions and warm your heart. It will anger you beyond measure, and bring tears to your eyes. This is one book you don't want to miss and I highly recommend it!
This MC story that spans most of the lives of Victoria and Snake. Sheltered and inexperienced, Vickie is unprepared for the guy on the bike. Escaping her mother's vicious tongue, she climbs on his bike and lets him take her away for a little while. They form a quick love bond but something or someone interferes. Both of their lives are again changed in a way that no one knows if they will ever find a way back to each other.
The is a short book that covers the lives of so many people even though the main characters are Victoria and Snake. It's got plenty of steam. I would have preferred more...more about their lives together, apart, their families, their work lives, the MC. In all, it is summed up in a very short few pages that could have been several books. It is the first book in the series so I am sure there is more to come. I will want to read the series to continue in their lives. Reviewed for Words Turn Me On.
Snake should have been honest and said he was with Victoria's friend. The way she find out sucked. It could have prevented everything. Instead Maria brags about it and Victoria bails to think things over. Meanwhile Snake gets so drunk that he doesn't realize what Maria did until months later. Victoria leaves and has her own hook up. That pissed me off as well. Even if you weren't going back to Snake don't screw someone else that night. What if Maria lied and it never happened? Snake said he was drunk she may have gone in his room but didn't follow through. Why would Maria want to get pregnant for someone that didn't love or want her? I'll never understand women that trap men with pregnancy. Victoria ends up with her own secret. I think she should have mentioned it to Snake. I don't see how she could leave without Dominic. She said Belt only hit her but who's to say after she left he wouldn't take it out on Dominic. I'm glad they got a second chance but I didn't really like it.
Wow, Snake and Victoria's story had such sweet moments that made my heart fill with warmth and love but then we have complete devastation and heartbreak. Sometimes you may find your soul mate but the timing is all wrong and with these two, things find a way to keep them apart. Their journey to each other was hard and emotional but sometimes the road to happiness isn't easy and these two will have a tough road ahead of them. Colbie did such a great job with this book. I wanted to be mad at her but if it was an easy read it definitely wouldn't have been as good as it was. I have a love/hate relationship with books that have such a hard journey to happiness. I wouldn't be satisfied with it being easy but my emotions get away from me in these as well. I personally love that I have read her other books because I got to know Snake and all the characters but you could read this as a standalone. I highly recommend this book!

Quiet Country Satan's Sinners MC Book 2 should be read first.
Oh WOW! I love The Satan’s Sinners series and this novella has everything we have come to love from Ms. Kay’s stories.
We met Snake in book 2 of the series and this novella pulls together all the pieces of his and Vic’s story. And boy oh boy what a wild one their lives have taken. I don’t want to give too much away so I’ll just say Double Crossed is one emotion packed novella. From the time Snake and Vic first meet as young kids to the present time in their adult lives, these two have never stopped loving one another. No matter what life and fate threw at them but sadly sometimes love just isn’t enough. Can these two find happiness, even if it’s not together?
The author has written a great story with some of our favorite characters from the series stopping by. I highly recommend reading this novella and series; you won’t regret it!
Title: Double Crossed Author: Colbie Kay **RECEIVED ARC FOR HONEST REVIEW**
This novella is part prequel to a storyline within the Cobras and Satan's Sinners MC world. So I would not recommend reading as a stand-alone.
This book pulled my heartstrings like all the books in this series. Kay has a way with words that can bring me to tears, make me laugh, or make me gasp in surprise. Her books are not too detailed nor are they written in a juvenile way. They are mature and the characters sometimes make you want to reach into the book and smack them. Yeah, the situations sometimes may not always seem steeped in reality but the characters reactions, yup I see that happening.
Loved this book and hope Kay keeps the series going for a time.
Heck yes!!!! I love the Satan's Sinners series, this novella is the icing on the cake after reading some of Snake's story in Quiet Country (Book 2 in the Satan's Sinners series). Snake and Victoria's story starts way back and I have been dying to find out where it started and what happened before they meet after such a long time apart (in Jacey and Bear's kitchen of all places!!) My heart!! This couple were totally in love, planning their future and....boom!.......they get ripped apart. I highly recommend that you add this to your TBR......before you read it though, read Quiet Country first. Lord I FLOVE this series!!!
This MC series is just so great. As I read this I see what the writer is writing about. Very vivid scenes. I love the way the story started then it took one hell of a turn. Then it takes another turn. But the best part is these turns are easy to follow and you don't lose interest. Returning home was great with Gunner and now this is Snakes story in Double Crossed Would I recommend this? Hell yes!! Awesome love story with a twist and each character is very well developed. It is an MC story so be prepared to read a very developed story.
I gave this book 5 stars because come on its Colbie Kay. She's an fantastic author. Wish it was longer but it was still a great read. I would read the other book before you read this one first but you don't have to JUST recommended it so you can get to know the other characters. Snake and Vicxens story is fool of heart break and betrayal and second chances. Its a great story. If you love Mc books I would recommend you read all of hers. Starting with City Lights. You will not regret it.
This is the first time I have read any of this author’s work, but my word, this will not be the last, and I will be 1-clicking ASAP. Snake and Vic have always loved each other even though they were brutally ripped apart. This is an emotional rollercoaster ride which had me hooked and intrigued throughout. I look forward to reading more of this authors work, and I will certainly be adding her to my favourites and 1-click lists! I voluntarily reviewed an advanced copy of this book!
I loved The Satan’s Sinners series. This novella filled in all the missing pieces of Snake and Vic’s story that was touched upon in the Satan’s Sinners series. The novella was an emotional and wild ride that filled in the missing pieces. It shows them both through the most emotional times in their lives. I absolutely loved this novella and I am looking forward to reading the next book in the Cobra’s MC series.
Yes!!! I love it when an author brings someone around you meet in a different book snake and Vic have a good start but her bitch of a friend ruins it , these two both go through hell, all to get to the end of the book. I can not wait for the next one. when this book hit my kindle I had to read it again, my heart broke for these two, then I was ready to kill for them, but never stopped rooting for them
This is a great read. Great spin off to the Satan Sinners. There is quite a backstory to be told about Snake and Victoria. What seems as the perfect relationship gets crumbled by a bad decision. Thankfully as time goes by things turn in the right direction for both characters. They both lived separate lives, miles apart. But on;y time will tell if they cross paths again. Cannot wait to see what is in store for this series next. Anxiously awaiting..........
It kept me reading for a while. But then it lost it's flow. All the characters had promise but I started to feel lost and I just couldn't get the flow back. By the end of the book it felt as if the author was trying to find resolutions for way too many situations (maybe so the book wouldn't end w\a cliffhanger)? I'm not sorry I bought this book but I doubt I'll read any more in the series.
This author is a new author to me, and I enjoyed the book. Even if I wanted to shake the characters and shout at them. It is short, and full of events. I recommend reading the other series, so you will understand more.
I liked Victoria, she is naive, and goodie goodie. I enjoyed her more when she came out of her shell. She is funny, and loyal.
I liked Snake, even if I wanted to shake him. His handsome, and fun.
