When your actions to save millions from the Tyranny of the Corporations lead to everyone wanting to enact their own brand of revenge against you or those you protect, could you step up and continue to fight for what’s right?
The effects of the Nano Liberation continue to reverberate around the world, bringing down some of the mightiest Corporations and creating further repercussions and victims.
Nano Technic has been put under government control, and the Corporations former paramilitary arm, including its agents and operators, have been handed over to the authorities, but they’re not going down without a fight.
A large group of them break free to pursue a misguided agenda against the government, and it’s Frankie’s job to hunt them down and stop them before they create an international disaster.
Meanwhile, cyborg mercenary Hellion is back, and out for Frankie’s blood.
If that wasn’t enough, the effects of the Nano Liberation are about to get a whole lot more personal for Frankie as her parents get caught up in the unfolding events.
Frankie must hunt down these former corporate operative terrorists, while avoiding Hellion’s attentions and negotiating the mess that is her personal life, before something gets out of control and kills her or creates an international incident.
Everyone is out for vengeance, and only Frankie stands in their way.
The forth book in The New Prometheus Series, a Cyberpunk Action thriller, is a must read for fans of Ghost in the Shell, Blade Runner, Dredd, Appleseed, Akira, The Matrix, Robocop and Total Recall.
I have tried to stay with this series, mainly because I found Frankie an interesting character, but it just doesn’t grab me. I’m not sure why, although the plots can feel a bit ‘mechanical’ and the author’s need to keep trying to incorporate some romance didn’t help.
Also, one of my major irritations is the way the author keeps setting up situations where Frankie is about to shoot the arch villain and for some inexplicable reason just as she is about to shoot, the villain is able to move out of the way. This was annoying in the last book when Hellion kept escaping, but it happens again when she encounters the rebuilt Hellion and then when she meets Zealotte. Can’t the author think of something different, I think it’s this lack of thought that finally ended the series for me?
PROMETHEUS VENGEANCE is the fourth installment of the NEW PROMETHEUS series that follows the adventures of Frankie the Cyborg. Having been put into an artificial body against her will, she finds herself carrying out a war on behalf of the British government against the corrupt megacorporations.
This book has her deal with her traitorous corporate-loving parents, the fact she wants to have a romantic life beyond fighting crime, and the insane Hellion. I had some minor issues with the ending as I think Frankie's last actions don't make much sense and I really wanted to see a character killed but otherwise am excited for the next book after this.
Further Adventures of Frankie, the Cyborg, and her team - not so much an Anti-Corporation story, as defending personal vendetta against Hellion - an equally vicious cyborg, on a vague contract with one of the main Corporations - from previous books. Some background on Frankie and her family, as well as a minor character development.
****mild spoiler alert**** Closes this story arc, probably. though not in the way you would expect.
A Great ending to this story arc and a bit of a shame as i feel we arw just getting to know Frankie and everything she has went through to get to this stage. The opening is there for more and i hope that this happens.
Last book of New Prometheus series features Frankie (Francesca) and her team from A.C.T. against the Mercenaries of Psytech, one of the Mega Corporations, basically ruling a future Earth. Frankie had her brain implanted in a cyborg body due to being killed in book #1. Highlight of this book is the final confrontation with another cyborg, named Hellion. If you enjoyed Ghost in the Shell, Blade Runner, etc. this is a great Cyberpunk series.
