Join Max and Olivia, our favorite eccentric old spies, as they return for another thrilling adventure in the sequel to "Operation Underpants." In "Claudia," readers are taken on an emotional rollercoaster full of danger, fear, and good vs. evil. Feared assassin Claudia is forced to confront her past when she spares Max's life but takes him with her, putting her at war with herself. Meanwhile, Olivia must navigate the treacherous waters of MI6 and track down her beloved husband across Europe, leaving chaos in her wake. As the story unfolds, readers will meet Claudia's boyfriend, Russian oligarch Monya Mogilevick, head of the Keiser Group, which provides a private army to the Kremlin. He is also a powerful Mafia boss, adding another layer of danger to an already explosive plot. "Claudia" is a story about never being too old, never giving up hope, and having ultimate faith in each other. It's an uplifting tale that will keep readers hooked until the very last page. Don't miss out on the next chapter in Max and Olivia's epic journey!
Mark is an Australian author with a lifelong fascination for history, travel, and the unexpected ways ordinary lives intersect with extraordinary events. His novels blend historical fact with fiction, taking readers on journeys that span continents, generations, and moments that changed the world.
Whether following pilgrims across Spain, uncovering wartime secrets, or exploring forgotten chapters of history, Mark enjoys writing stories that combine adventure, mystery, romance, and hope.
His next novel, When Morning Comes, is his most ambitious work to date. Weaving together two remarkable journeys separated by seven centuries, it follows a retired investigator searching post-war Europe and Siberia for missing British soldiers while writing the story of Nicholas of Cologne and the Children's Crusade of 1212. It is a novel about love, courage, sacrifice, and the enduring belief that even after the darkest night... morning comes.
When he isn't writing, Mark can often be found planning his next adventure, usually one involving long-distance walking, history, or another country waiting to tell its story.
That the author would extend this series further. Of course, I am about to start the third book and may find that Max and Olivia are no longer available for spying.....
I won a copy of this book from Goodreads giveaways. I was not required to give a favorable review. This was a wonderful read. I wish I read the first in the series to understand some of the interaction of some of the characters but this was wonderful. It makes you think about what spies did for the country during WWII and also what they did after to help their country. Now the 2 main characters have gotten older and their children think that don't know what they are doing is something that I think happens when children don't want to take the time to help their parents stay in their homes. Little did they know that his older couple still had a lot of get in their gitty up. I love the story. I hope to read more.
Mark Briggs is one of my new favorite authors. Perhaps because he deals with seniors with humor, reverence and importance. Too often seniors are treated as characters to be “put up with” rarely main protagonists. I found Max and Olivia delightful. I am looking forward to more adventures with them in the future. I highly recommend this book.
The adventures of Max & Olivia continue in this thrilling and hilarious sequel. We meet the deadly yet charming assassin Claudia and discover much more about Max & Olivia’s incredible history as secret agents. I especially enjoyed exploring more of Europe with them on the run in fast cars and luxury boats! Read it Sweetie, you’ll love it.
This book is very good adventure story about two spies that love each other deeply. It's an uplifting story full of danger, fear, good vs evil, never being too old, never giving up hope, and having ultimate faith in each other. And it has a couple of interesting twists at the very intense conclusion. Very enjoyable!
Two old spies are still at it. Not wanting to die a torturous death in a nursing home, the two take a wild adventure to save England and tackle the Russian mafia. An exciting and fast-paced story that is hard to put down. Can't wait to read their further adventures in book 3!
I really enjoyed this book. It s well written with like able characters. They are well developed and the story keeps moving. It was hard to put down. The comedy from the first book continues with this story. I hope there is a third book. He wrapped up the story but left it open for more.
The further adventures of Max and Olivia, old spies who may have been put in a nursing home by their children, but can’t be held back when the state of the world is at stake. Good mystery, lots of action and fun.
This book is the second in the series. I enjoyed the first so much that I immediately bought the second. Being older myself, it was great reading about an older couple still getting out and carrying on the spy business. I recommend this for an interesting fun read!
