Book 3 of New York Times Bestselling Author SM Reine's urban fantasy thriller series.
With the previous master vampire out of the way, and Dana McIntyre presumed dead, there's nothing standing between Nissa Royal and her vision for Las Vegas: a city of vampires where humans serve as no more than cattle.

Except that someone keeps killing the vampires who are sweeping the streets for victims. A mysterious killer that nobody can seem to find. Someone bent on stopping Nissa...

Police Chief Charmaine Villanueva is losing control of her city to the Office of Preternatural Affairs. She hopes to appease them with a preliminary cure for vampirism--her last shot at reassuring them that she can keep her citizens safe. Except someone has broken into Holy Nights Cathedral to steal the Garlic Shot, even though the church should be impossible to burgle. She can only think of one person with the ability to steal from the cathedral. But Dana McIntyre's been dead for hours. Hasn't she?

Torn between OPA control and vampire control, Las Vegas is a city on the brink of war missing its guardian angel. It's a high stakes game with no limit. But the house isn't letting any of its players cash out yet...not when the game is just getting hot.

Hi everyone! My name is Sara, and I write urban fantasy and paranormal novels as SM Reine. I collect swords, cat hair, and typewriters (which I do use for writing!). It's a good day when those three things have nothing to do with each other.

If you would like to know the instant my next book is available, you should enlist in my Army of Evil! We have a wicked cool secret handshake, but you'll have to sign up to learn it. ;) Check it out -- http://smarturl.it/armyofevil

I received this book from the publisher and author in exchange for an honest review. This series keeps getting better and better! I just love it!

Dana is presumed dead at the beginning of this book and she wasn't mentioned for a while and I really did think that maybe she was truly dead for a little bit. Everyone else believes Dana has died and even Nissa Royal thinks she might be dead too. However it wouldn't be much of a book without the fabulous heroine now would it, so of course Dana does make an appearance. Unfortunately she has changed and maybe not all for the better.

She is still feisty and determined to kill all vampires. She still wants to hunt down the Fremont Slasher. But for now she has to save all of Las Vegas! The vampires have come up with a new plan on how they, and only they, can rule all of Vegas and only one person can get in their way long enough to stop them from killing everyone else in the process.

Dana was brilliant in this installment. She has a lot of emotions to deal with this time, even more so than before and Charmaine was great too. I loved how she got involved in what was going on even though it completely went against the rules!

The next book is the last book in this series and I am so looking forward to it. Not too long to wait either! Thanks again to Angie and Sara for inviting me to read this book! Have loved this series so far!

Yippee! Another Dana installment! I still don't like vampires. That may be why I like Dana. She doesn't either, even when she becomes one.

I'm not lowering my star rating from five to four even though most of the beginning is about Nessa, not Dana. After finishing the read, I saw why that was so. Picture me rubbing my hands together in anticipation. More is to come!!!!

Though not left on a cliffhanger, this book did leave me anxious to read what comes next. More Dana! Please, please, please!

Oh, and though this part of the series(s) is rather stand alone I suggest you all read of the Saraverse from Six Moon Summer on. SM Reine is one of the most prolific writers I know. Her places are alternates of places many have been, just add a were-beings, demons, vampires, fae, etc. thrown in amongst we muggles. And GODS/GODDESS and many layers of heavens and hells Yet if you see her on Instagram, Sara is a fascinating mom person.

HA! Things just keep barreling forward when Dana's at the wheel. Things like the vampires planning to cement their status as the city's top predators and OPA moving in to drop the hammer on...well, everyone. Plus, vamps are turning up dead in the sewers and Dana McIntyre has crossed the line between being a blood virgin and a full-on vamp.

Good times.

We get some resolution to a sticky issue Dana's been dealing with since the beginning. We get to see the garlic shot in action in more than one way. We get Dana being Dana and all the glorious bloodshed that goes along with that.

And we get some losses. Which...*sad face*

BUT...that balances out with the beauty that is Cesar Hawke. His prettiness is very distracting, it would seem. Also, I like that guy. Even though he's OPA. Oh, and I got a chuckle out of his throwaway "crotchfruit" line. Because Cesar is nothing if not charmingly blunt and his lack of a filter is always cause for amusement.

In the end, there's still danger lurking around Vegas and Dana is left in a rough situation. One more book to go. Let's see if she can save herself and her relationship and her friends and thwart the machinations of the bad guys without taking out half the city in the process. (I'm not holding my breath on that last part.)

I can’t even… I really should deduct at least half a star for the gut wrenching events near the end… Oh, and I thought the last book ended with a crazy twist? o.O Trust me when I say that S.M. Reine is most definitely holding onto her #EvilAuthor title.

Things took a strange and unexpected turn at the end of Kill Game. So strange and unexpected that everyone (except readers) in the beginning of Cashing Out knew that Dana was dead. There were a few that held out a little bit of hope, but it was a long shot. There were too many things that she would have had to overcome to actually survive, but this is Dana we’re talking about and she obviously wasn’t finished yet.

Needless to say, a lot happened in Cashing Out and not all of it was great. Dana was kinda awesome (I told you, she’s growing on me) and her friends/family were great, whether they actually liked her or not. A key mystery was solved (I can’t say that I was surprised). On the flip side, the OPA showed up (which wasn’t all bad…). Nissa became even stronger when she became a full fledged vamp and the absolute worst was that there were losses… on both sides. *tear*

So, this is turning out to be another vague review, and I’m sorry about that, but I just don’t want to give anything away. I will say that I have a sudden urge to go back and read Bitter Thirst, because seeing one of my favorite OPA agents appear in Vegas was one of my favorite parts of Cashing Out 😉 Well, maybe not my favorite, because this is Dana’s book after all, but Cèsar is just… well, he’s Cèsar, enough said.

So, I’m going to end this review (before I give anything away) with my usual disclaimer. If you haven’t read a S.M. Reine book yet, pick one sooner rather than later. Start wherever you want, but I suggest either with Six Moon Summer or Descent. The world building is phenomenal and so interwoven between the series it’s a wild ride. I’ve got my favorites, so now it’s time for you to choose yours… you’re welcome! 😉

I received Cashing Out in exchange for a fair and honest review.

These books continue to surprise me and somehow I’m rooting for Dana like she’s some big hero. Shocking, right? There’s no real and true heroes in this world, but Dana might be pretty close now.

We join her after Nissa’s betrayal, I guess? It’s a little murky where everyone stands on the side of good and evil (as usual), but she definitely made the surprise decision to change the game at the end of the last book. This book definitely makes some big steps towards a conclusion. We get to see some very familiar faces (from another series), there’s some conclusion to Dana’s trip into vamp-ville, and, yes, there’s some really sad things that happen.

Dana’s journey is just as gritty, gruesome, and action-packed as you would expect. There’s really no easy choices for her throughout this book and I have no idea how she muddled through. While she’s suffering with her “life,” Nissa is coming to grips with the revelation that Dana presented. I guess there is a limit to how sorry you can feel for a psycho like Nissa, but she is sort-of the perpetual victim in this tale. It’s pretty hard to summarize and review without giving the game away, but I left this book relatively satisfied, if not sad for some endings. It read very much like a last book in the series, but I’m sure there’s more coming. Where will Dana go from here? I’m dying to know!

I received a free copy of this book in exchange for a fair review.

The previous book ended with a twist and this one opens with Dana being presumed dead. It starts with her friends and Penny believing she has died and Dana herself doesn't reappear for a while and I really did think that maybe she was truly dead for a little bit (although you can't really have this series without her). Unfortunately she has changed and maybe not all for the better.

She is still determined to kill all vampires, and to hunt down the Fremont Slasher but for now she has to save all of Las Vegas! The vampires have come up with a new plan on how they, and only they, can rule all of Vegas and only Dana can put the pieces together to save Las Vegas.

A few characters outside of Dana really shined in this installment, I feel like Charmaine really took a good front role both in the investigation into Dana's "murder" and in the vampire's plot piece. The other one was Ceaser Hawke who made an appearance from the OPA series SM Reine also writes. It is always fun when there are series crossovers and this one fit in really well.

The next book is the last book in this series and I am looking forward to it. We think that the vampires are out of the picture now but I feel like Nissa Royal (who I really don't like) has something up her sleeve. Let's just hope Dana and Penny can have a moment of joy before the story continues.

I received this book from the author in exchange for an honest review.

For much of the book, Dana is very much in the background. We see her pop up now and again, but the book is about how the people in her life react to her not being in it. Presumed dead, life must go on for The Hunting Club.

I enjoyed watching the character dynamics shift as arguments ensued over whether Dana had successfully evaded death, and what she would want moving forwards. We got to learn a lot more about Charmaine in this book, and she has developed into a very interesting character.

Dana's stint as a vampire however was very short, and I have yet to see what it truly accomplished. Dana already had her vendetta prior to the change, so that was unaffected. Ultimately Nissa was the main character that popped up as a result of Dana's vampirism, a character whom seems to teeter along the edge of sociopathy. We do not yet know how Nissa's character will play out through the end, thus far she has brought chaos in the form of ambivalence.

I am curious to see what comes next, and will continue with this series. The end, while sad, left many possibilities for the future.

Well this book does not hold back and so much is going on with the characters in this book. Anthony is such a good guy and always there when you need him regardless of the fact that you are an evil vampire or a vampire killing machine. Dana would be my pick if ever I wanted to win a battle although this series has explored her relationships more showing a softer side of her than before. The characters are so well fleshed out they become almost like friends and you feel protective of them. Although you do not need to read the previous series I would recommend it as it gives the characters more depth and a timeline of where they are in this new world. A few secrets were revealed and I almost guessed one but the ending was a total shock to me and not what I was expecting at all. A fast paced story that is never predictable and definitely keeps you interested.

I received a copy of this book in return for an honest review. I have purchased so many of Sara's books over the years and I am thankful she is such a prolific writer as I cannot get enough of them.

Be ready to for some big reveals and big shocks in the third installment of Dana McIntyre Must Die by SM Reine. All that is left of Dana is ashes and the Hunting Club, along with her wife Penny are devastated. How could this badass woman be gone when she was the best of the best of the hunters? But if Dana is dead who keeps killing the vampires?

Dana is the character you can’t decide if you want to love or hate? You love her because she doesn’t take shit from anybody and she’s someone you wish you could be at times in your life. You hate her because she doesn’t seem to have any compassion for others and she will never put you above killing vampires on hunting the Fremont Slasher. Her wife, her friends, and even her colleagues are always trying to save her from herself which just isn’t possible.

I look forward to reading the best book in this series and wonder what the next series will be for Reine.

Best one yet

I don't even know where to start! Wow just wow....hurry up with the next book already! This was by far my favorite book of the series. There was action & surprises (some good, some not so much) abound. What is the attraction/connection between Nissa & Dana? Will either of them survive, if not who will be the victor & at what cost? Will Dana ever be satisfied with the outcome of the Freemont Slasher situation? Chapters 19 & 20 were just heartwrenching for me. I'm sitting here stunned, I did not see that coming. I did love getting a visit from hottie Cesar, that was a pleasant crossover. I missed him & hope to see more of him. I really started to like Charmaine in this book. Is there really a cure for vampiric and will it get used or will the OPA use their daylight bomb & kill all vampires?

I wasn't sure where the author was going to go after the ending of the last book, but I should have realised that wherever the story went, it was going to go there full pelt.

This is an action packed, tense, violent and occasionally poignant romp of a book.  Seriously.  I'm enjoying this series so much.  And you can feel it all ramping up.  You know that the climax, when it gets here, is going to be completely explosive.

I, for one, cannot wait.

I voluntarily reviewed an advanced reader copy of this book.

I received a copy of this book in exchange of a review. I don't know how to review this without spoilers so you have been warned. Dana discovers who the Freemont Slasher is. Dana is no longer dead. Will Penny and her just kiss and make up already pretty please!!! Also loved the appearance of Cesar he is one of my favorite characters in this universe. I'm definitely excited to see what happens next and what Nissa does with her new gang. What will her end game be? I can't wait to find out.

Oh gosh!! What a wonderful bloodbath of an ending to this series. Plenty of vampire killing and all the warring factions get their shit together to get rid of them. Some mysteries are also solved about the slasher.
Plenty of bad language not for children.
I really thought this wouldn't have a happy ending but never fear, it did and didn't at the same time.
You won't want to put it down till it's done.

Oh Gods how can so much be packed into one book! Is it wrong that I love to hate Dana because she sure does make it easy. There were plenty of tense moments as well as a couple of surprises that leaves your jaw dropped. I have no idea what to expect with the next book as this one has topped all the others to date!

I was given a complimentary copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

Oh this book was awesome.... I love the complexity that is Ceasar Hawk.... I was not a big fan of the ending though! Even if I didn't always like that character it still gave me a sad face!
We got more proof that Nissa is a weirdo and her sire is an even bigger one.
Once again OPA is poised to muck stuff up and boy did they.
