Recent discoveries of sacred texts such as the Gospel of Mary of Magdala and the Gospel of Thomas tell us that Mary Magdalene was independent, insightful, and courageous-a woman so inspirational that her voice can still be heard across the ages. In Invoking Mary Magdalene , religious scholar Siobhán Houston invites you to develop your own personal relationship with one of Jesus' closest disciples, as she instructs you in a daily devotional practice of prayers, meditations, and visualizations from around the world. With the exercises in this book and on the accompanying CD, Houston offers step-by-step guidance for accessing the wisdom of the Divine Feminine that Mary Magdalene represents, as you Whether you're discovering Mary Magdalene for the first time or have long felt an unquenchable desire to experience the presence of the beloved luminary, with Invoking Mary Magdalene , you will come to share Mary Magdalene's gnosis -her indwelling knowledge of the sacred-and witness the blessings of the one who has been called "the woman who knew the All".
This book, while purporting to talk about Mary Magdalene, a follower of Jesus Christ, quickly devolves into a worship of the Divine Feminine, a demonic representation of the worst of femininity. Chapter Two of Invoking Mary Magdalene sets a very scary stage: "The first phase of the Magdalene Path is to construct an altar, a special place where you will go on a regular basis to relate to the Magdalene." Chapter Three of Invoking Mary Magdalene dives right into horrific blasphemy and heresy. Recommending imagining or actually somehow engaging in sexual relations with Mary Madgalene and or the Lord Jesus Christ and even worse perversions begins the author's decline into depravity but she adds to her blasphemy by stating of Mary Magdalene's comparison to Christ, "You are his equal in all respects". I may not be able to continue this blasphemous work! Chapter Four of Invoking Mary Magdalene continues the heresy and blasphemy and moves into seriously dangerous demonic territory. Assuming that Mary Magdalene and Jesus were married and lovers and actually had a child, the author describes her recommended worship of Mary as the Divine Feminine and actually invokes and invites the "Spirits of Air, Fire, Water, and Earth" to "this circle" of worship. Blasphemy and Heresy and Demonic! Chapter Five of Invoking Mary Magdalene incorporates tarot cards, the rosary, Kabbalah and other items into worship of what they call the Divine Feminine, the Dark Goddess, also known as Mary Magdalene. Truly horrific and demonic! Chapter Six of Invoking Mary Magdalene gets truly dark as evil spirits, goddesses, and "guardians" (demons) are invoked and invited to participate in rituals worshipping the Dark Goddess, Mary Magdalene. Pure evil. Chapter Seven of Invoking Mary Magdalene recommends teaching the contents of this book at your local Unitarian or other church, community center, synagogue, or library. To be clear, what is recommended is the worship of demons. Avoid this book. If you have ever wondered why the apocryphal books were not included in the Bible, THIS book, which is based on several apocryphal books (The Gospel of Thomas, The Gospel of Mary Magdalene, and other Gnostic writings), should assure you that the early church fathers were correct in omitting such heretical books from the Canon of Scripture.
