When James sees a large, deer-like animal, he thinks it's a reindeer and follows it, in hopes of seeing Saint Nick. What he finds is a mother moose looking for her young. Soon James's mother finds him also. As both mothers lead their young away, James realizes the reindeer was really a baby moose. Full color.
Wow! Was this ever a great one! Because first of all, the pictures were BEAUTIFUL, right? But then it's a great story about mooses and kids and babies and moms and the woods. This story has EVERYTHING. Except snow. But that's OK. And it's a happy ending, even though the boy's upset that he didn't get to meet Santa. But he got to go back with his mom, and so did the moose, so it all worked out. One of the best ones EVER!!!
This book is interesting about a baby moose that is separated from its mother and a boy who follows it around thinking it is a reindeer. Then the boys mother and the moose's mother have a starring contest.
I love moose and this book was okay, but I wasn't so much in love with!
